I have the library weblogic.jar in my build library folders, which is set as classpath for the junit task. I look at this file and can't find the WeblogicMBean.class inside. However, in Jdev, I can import weblogic.management.WeblogicMBean into my class if I set library reference to this weblogic.jar file and compile my class without problem. Any suggestion of what really goes wrong? Thanks a lot.

• CSS - Class hierarchies???

  Hi, I have a site with a customer front end, which has a catalogue, homepage, contact page, about us page and so on. There is also an administration front end. I would like to implement a kind of hierarchy where any elements within an element with class "admin" will inherit properties set in the admin stylesheet and anything else inherits from the customer stylesheet. The purpose of this is so that admin can login on the admin front end, where they have access to lots of advanced stuff, but they can also navigate to the customer front end where they can execute basic tasks (such as hiding catalogue items, running a debug script if a customer reports an issue and so on). I would like all the admin tools on the customer front end to have properties taken from the admin stylesheet instead of the customer one - this will change the background colour and stuff. Is there any easy way to set up like namespaces to make things simpler, for example: .admin { .list { .list-subtitle { } .list-item { } } a { } } .customer { .list { .list-subtitle { } .list-item { } } a { } } I know it can be like: .admin .list {} .admin .list .list-item {} .admin a I just dont want to have to keep putting .admin all the time. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I could do this? I suppose I could write a .net class which sets this up and writes a stylesheet according to whats put into it, but then I would not be able to read the styles so easily add there would be all sorts of like Classes.Add(blah) and so on.   Hey everyone, I have a java project that I'm working on which was working until a few days ago. I'm not sure what I did to my Eclipse set-up to hose it but now I'm getting a java.lang.ClassNotFoundException when I try to run some code that accesses the google finance api. I've built a small test application that uses the google finance api on its own and that seems to work. So, I think this is a project specific problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. • Setting the value of a radio button with JQuery (ASP.NET MVC)

  I have 2 "lists" of (4) radio buttons {value = "0", "1", "2", "3"} in all lists. The first list needs to drive the second list (which may occur multiple times). So if an option is selected in the first list, the SAME option is selected in the second list. It sounds weird, but it has a purpose. The first list is more of a "select all" type of list, and the second list is an individual selection list(s). I have the value of the "selectall" list via JQuery: $("#selectalllist").change(function() { var str = $('input[name=selectall]:checked').val(); $(".radiolist").attr('checked', str); //This is my thinking }); The current selected value is stored in the str variable, and that is seemingly correct (I used alert to tell me what is stored, and it comes up what I expect). I just need to set the value of the next set of lists. The second line of the code I thought would set the checked value of $(".radiolist") to the stored value, but it ALWAYS set the value to the last entry (value = "3"). I'm wondering if I have the wrong attribute in the .attr('', str) call? Any thoughts?

  Suddenly Eclipse today has decides to stop working. The last thing I did was close all perspectives and close Eclipse. When loading eclipse from the command prompt, using: "eclipse.exe -clean" the splash screen loads for a split second then exits.   I'm got a site that has a long list of tweets, and as you scroll down the right column follows you down, showing stats on the tweets. (See it in action at http://www.grapevinegame.com . Click 'memorise', then 'skip' to get to the list page. Works in Safari and Chrome). I'm using jQuery to update the top-margin of the right column, increasing it as I scroll down. It seems to be working fine in webkit-based browsers, but doesn't budge in Firefox.   I am new to java(a real novice). I installed Java 1.7.0 in the following folder C:\Program Files\Java The environment variable which I set are CLASSPATH : C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0\jre\lib\rt.jar; Path : C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0\bin; JAVA_HOME : C:\Program Files\Java; I have presented here the class names which are in my system. Next I wrote a program(HelloWorld.java) import java.io.*; class HelloWorld { public static void main(String[] args) { System.out.println("Hello World!"); } } When I am compiling using javac HelloWorld.java it is compiling fine. A workaround is to open the java control center and enable logging. This is a concern since by default "Enable Logging" is unchecked. If I select "Enable Logging", the application starts fine.

• Dynamic ExpandableListView

  Can anyone tell me how I can Dynamically add groups & children to an ExpandableListView. The purpose is to create a type of task list that I can add new items/groups to. I can populate the view with pre-filled arrays but of course can't add to them to populate the list further. The other method i tried was using the SimpleExpandableListAdapter. • JOGL: cannot run java on compiled class file

  I am running ubuntu Linux 11.10. I have followed the instructions on the site http://jogamp.org/jogl/www/ and downloaded everything with git to $HOME/jogamp and built everything with ant (although I would have prefered the files installed somewhere under /usr/local). I am trying to run a simple application with JOGL found on the Wikipedia site: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Java_OpenGL In order to compile the file I had to add: export CLASSPATH.:$HOME/jogamp/jogl/build/jogl/classes in order to compile the code. I'm using the 'lock' function each time one of the threads want to access to the list. Another thing I want to do is, if the list is empty, the thread who need to read from the list will sleep. and wake up when the first thread add a task to the list. Here is the code I wrote: ...   I am trying to turn a nested list structure into a dataframe. The list looks similar to the following (it is serialized data from parsed JSON read in using the httr package). myList <- list(object1 = list(w=1, x=list(y=0.1, z="cat")), object2 = list(w=2, x=list(y=0.2, z="dog"))) unlist(myList) does a great job of recursively flattening the list, and I can then use lapply to flatten all the objects nicely. flatList <- lapply(myList, FUN= function(object) {return(as.data.frame(rbind(unlist(object))))}) And finally, I can button it up using plyr::rbind.fill myDF <- do.call(plyr::rbind.fill, flatList) str(myDF) #'data.frame': 2 obs. of 3 variables: #$ w : Factor w/ 2 levels "1","2": 1 2 #$ x.y: Factor w/ 2 levels "0.1","0.2": 1 2 #$ x.z: Factor w/ 2 levels "cat","dog": 1 2 The problem is that w and x.y are now being interpreted as character vectors, which by default get parsed as factors in the dataframe. I believe that unlist() is the culprit, but I can't figure out another way to recursively flatten the list structure. A workaround would be to post-process the dataframe, and assign data types then. What is the best way to determine if a vector is a valid numeric or integer vector?

• Performance of VIEW vs. SQL statement

  I have a query that goes something like the following: select <field list> from <table list> where <join conditions> and <condition list> and PrimaryKey in (select PrimaryKey from <table list> where <join list> and <condition list>) and PrimaryKey not in (select PrimaryKey from <table list> where <join list> and <condition list>) The sub-select queries both have multiple sub-select queries of their own that I'm not showing so as not to clutter the statement. One of the developers on my team thinks a view would be better. I disagree in that the SQL statement uses variables passed in by the program (based on the user's login Id). Are there any hard and fast rules on when a view should be used vs. using a SQL statement? What kind of performance gain issues are there in running SQL statements on their own against regular tables vs. against views. (Note that all the joins / where conditions are against indexed columns, so that shouldn't be an issue.) EDIT for clarification... • Behavior of <- NULL on lists versus data.frames for removing data

  Many R users eventually figure out lots of ways to remove elements from their data. One way is to use NULL, particularly when you want to do something like drop a column from a data.frame or drop an element from a list. Eventually, a user comes across a situation where they want to drop several columns from a data.frame at once, and they hit upon <- list(NULL) as the solution (since using <- NULL will result in an error). A data.frame is a special type of list, so it wouldn't be too tough to imagine that the approaches for removing items from a list should be the same as removing columns from a data.frame. • 2D platformer gravity physics with slow-motion

  Hi all, I fine tuned my 2d platformer physics and when I added slow-motion I realized that it is messed up. The problem I have is that for some reason the physics still depends on framerate. So when I scale down time elapsed, every force is scaled down as well. So the jump force is scaled down, meaning in slow-motion, character jumps vertically smaller height and gravity force is scaled down as well so the character goes further in the air without falling. • In Emacs, how can I use imenu more sensibly with C#?

  I've used emacs for a long time, but I haven't been keeping up with a bunch of features. One of these is speedbar, which I just briefly investigated now. Another is imenu. Both of these were mentioned in in-emacs-how-can-i-jump-between-functions-in-the-current-file? Using imenu, I can jump to particular methods in the module I'm working in. But there is a parse hierarchy that I have to negotiate before I get the option to choose (with autocomplete) the method name. It goes like this. I type M-x imenu and then I get to choose Using or Types. The Using choice allows me to jump to any of the using statements at the top level of the C# file (something like imports statements in a Java module, for those of you who don't know C#). Not super helpful. I choose Types. Then I have to choose a namespace and a class, even though there is just one of each in the source module. At that point I can choose between variables, types, and methods. If I choose methods I finally get the list of methods to choose from. The hierarchy I traverse looks like this; Using Types Namespace Class Types Variables Methods method names Only after I get to the 5th level do I get to select the thing I really want to jump to: a particular method. Imenu seems intelligent about the source module, but kind of hard to use. Am I doing it wrong?

  I'm trying to build some code for dynamically sorting a Linq IQueryable<. The obvious way is here, which sorts a list using a string for the field name http://dvanderboom.wordpress.com/2008/12/19/dynamically-composing-linq-orderby-clauses/ However I want one change - compile time checking of field names, and the ability to use refactoring/Find All References to support later maintenance. That means I want to define the fields as f=f.Name, instead of as strings. For my specific use I want to encapsulate some code that would decide which of a list of named "OrderBy" expressions should be used based on user input, without writing different code every time. Here is the gist of what I've written: var list = from m Movies select m; // Get our list var sorter = list.GetSorter(...); // Pass in some global user settings object sorter.AddSort("NAME", m=m.Name); sorter.AddSort("YEAR", m=m.Year).ThenBy(m=m.Year); list = sorter.GetSortedList(); ... public class Sorter ... public static Sorter GetSorter(this IQueryable source, ...) The GetSortedList function determines which of the named sorts to use, which results in a List object, where each FieldData contains the MethodInfo and Type values of the fields passed in AddSort: public SorterItem AddSort(Func field) { MethodInfo ... = field.Method; Type ... = TypeOf(TKey); // Create item, add item to diction, add fields to item's List // The item has the ThenBy method, which just adds another field to the List } I'm not sure if there is a way to store the entire field object in a way that would allow it be returned later (it would be impossible to cast, since it is a generic type) Is there a way I could adapt the sample code, or come up with entirely new code, in order to sort using strongly typed field names after they have been stored in some container and retrieved (losing any generic type casting)

• T4MVC Optional Parameter Inferred From Current Context

  I have read the other post about this at T4MVC OptionalParameter values implied from current context and I am using the latest T4MVC (2.11.1) which is suppose to have the fix in. I even checked checked to make sure that it's there -- and it is. I am still getting the optional parameters filled in based on the current context. For example: Let's say I have a list that is by default ordered by a person's last name. I have the option to order by first name instead with the URL http://localhost/list/stuff?orderby=firstname When I am in that page, I want to go back to order by first name with the code: @Html.ActionLink("order by last name", MVC.List.Stuff(null)) the link I wanted was simply http://localhost/list/stuff without any parameters to keep the URL simple and short - invoking default behaviors within the action. But instead the orderby is kept and the url is still http://localhost/list/stuff?orderby=firstname Any help would be great. I know that in the most general cases, this does remove the query parameter - maybe I do have a specific case where it was not removed. I find that it only happens when I have the URL inside a page that I included with RenderPartial. • C++ new memory allocation fragmentation

  I was trying to look at the behavior of the new allocator and why it doesn't place data contiguously. Most allocations were a fixed length from the last, sometimes there were odd jumps from one available block to another. sizeof(char) : 1 Average Jump: 64 bytes sizeof(int): 4 Average Jump: 16 sizeof(ci): 8 (int has to be placed on a 4 byte align) Average Jump: 9 Can anyone explain why the allocator is fragmenting memory like this? Also why is the jump for char so much larger then ints and a structure that contains both an int and char.
