  • Making a DateTime field in SQLExpress database?

    I'm putting together a simple test database to learn MVC with. I want to add a DateTime field to show when the record was CREATED. ID = int Name = Char DateCreated = (dateTime, DateTime2..?) I have a feeling that this type of DateTime capture can be done automatically - but that's all I have, a feeling. Can it be done? And if so how? While we're on the subject: if I wanted to include another field that captured the DateTime of when the record was LAST UPDATED how would I do that. I'm hoping to not do this manually.     Hi, I am getting the error "A field initializer cannot reference the nonstatic field", While My code is as below: Object selectedItem = PageVariables.slectedItemData; MyClass selectedItems = (MyClass)selectedItem; But the same thing works if assign the value at the constructor or in a different method , like below: public partial class MusicPlayer : Page { Object selectedItem = PageVariables.slectedItemData; public MusicPlayer() { InitializeComponent(); MyClass selectedItems = (MyClass)selectedItem; } } I am just trying to understand what is the difference, Why it is looking for a static varaible declaration(in 1st case) while doesn't look for it while in a constructor or a different method!!!

    what Im looking to do is to have a link on the name of a field of a model. So when im filling the form using the admin interface i can access some information. I know this doesn't work but shows what i want to do class A(models.Model): item_type = models.CharField(max_length=100, choices=ITEMTYPE_CHOICES, verbose_name="<a href='http://www.quackit.com/html/codes'>Item Type</a>") Other option would be to put a description next to the field. Im not even sure where to start from.

    SQLServer int field. Value sometimes null. DataAdapter fills dataset OK and can display data in DatagridView OK. When trying to retrieve the data programmatically from the dataset the Dataset field retrieval code throws a StronglyTypedException error. When the dataset structure is modified (Still developing) my changes (unsurprisingly) are gone. What is the best way to handle this situation? It seems I am stuck with dealing with it at the dataset level. Is there some sort of attribute that can tell the auto code generator to leave the changes in place?

    In my app, I have defined a custom field to represent a physical quantity using the quantities package. class AmountField(models.CharField): def __init__(self, *args, **kwargs): ... def to_python(self, value): create_quantities_value(value) Essentially the way it works is it extends CharField to store the value as a string in the database "12 min" and represents it as a quantities object when using the field in a model array(12) * min Then in a model it is used as such: class MyModel(models.Model): group = models.CharField() amount = AmountField() class Meta: ordering = ['group', 'amount'] My issue is that these fields do not seem to sort by the quantity, but instead by the string. So if I have some objects that contain something like {"group":"A", "amount":"12 min"} {"group":"A", "amount":"20 min"} {"group":"A", "amount":"2 min"} {"group":"B", "amount":"20 min"} {"group":"B", "amount":"1 hr"} they end up sorted something like this: >>> MyModel.objects.all() [{A, 12 min}, {A, 2 min}, {A, 20 min}, {B, 1 hr}, {B, 20 min}] essentially alphabetical order. Can I give my custom AmountField a comparison function so that it will compare by the python value instead of the DB value?

    I am trying to calculate a field named lblAnswer by adding values txtA + txtB. I am fairly new to the android development world and would like to know what is the best way of going about this. I have already added the necessarily edit fields to the GUI. I am now working in the java file to try and create the method. This method has been named doCalc.     I'm using a class that extends BytecodeScanningDetector to check for some problematic fields in a class. After detecting whether the field is problematic, I add it to the bug report like below: Once I run findbugs, it identifies the bug, lists it in the left pane, but does not highlight the corresponding source line.   • Accessing the feed/entry/id field of an ATOM 1.0 feed with the ROME library

    Hi, I feel a bit stupid asking this question, but I don't know how I can access the ID field of an entry when using ROME to parse an Atom feed. ROME provides it's own meta level of feeds/items, i.e. SyndFeed and SyndEntry. Being an abstraction over RSS and ATOM they only contain elements both formats support. Thus, there is no method to get an ID of an entry. There also exist low level packages for the distinct formats, and the Atom package contains com.sun.syndication.feed.atom.Entry, which provides getId(). However, I don't know how can I convert my SyndEntry into an Entry. I have not found a way to convert it. The (outdated) tutorials show a conversion, but that's only for output though. So how can I easily access the ID field? Thanks in advance.

    Hi there, In our compass mapping, we're boosting "better" documents to push them up in the list of search results. Something like this: <boost name="boostFactor" default="1.0"/> <property name="name"><meta-data>name</meta-data></property> While this works fine for fulltext search, it does not when doing a field search, e.g. the boost is ignored when searching something like name:Peter Is there any way to enable boosting for field searches?     The printf/fprintf/sprintf family supports a width field in its format specifier. I have a doubt for the case of (non-wide) char arrays arguments: Is the width field supposed to mean bytes or characters? What is the (correct-de facto) behaviour if the char array corresponds to (say) a raw UTF-8 string? (I know that normally I should use some wide char type, that's not the point) For example, in char s[] = "ni\xc3\xb1o"; // utf8 encoded "niño" fprintf(f,"%5s",s); Is that function supposed to try to ouput just 5 bytes (plain C chars) (and you take responsability of misalignments or other problems if two bytes results in a textual characters) ? Or is it supposed to try to compute the length of "textual characters" of the array? (decodifying it... according to the current locale?) (in the example, this would amount to find out that the string has 4 unicode chars, so it would add a space for padding).

  • Concatenating rows from different tables into one field

    Hi! In a project using a MSSQL 2005 Database we are required to log all data manipulating actions in a logging table. One field in that table is supposed to contain the row before it was changed. We have a lot of tables so I was trying to write a stored procedure that would gather up all the fields in one row of a table that was given to it, concatenate them somehow and then write a new log entry with that information. I already tried using FOR XML PATH and it worked, but the client doesn't like the XML notation, they want a csv field. Here's what I had with FOR XML PATH: DECLARE @foo varchar(max); SET @foo = (SELECT * FROM table WHERE id = 5775 FOR XML PATH('')); The values for "table", "id" and the actual id (here: 5775) would later be passed in via the call to the stored procedure. Is there any way to do this without getting XML notation and without knowing in advance which fields are going to be returned by the SELECT statement?

    Hi I've created a new WorkItem named Project that contains a field named business owner which can be any domain user. The field was created using the WorkItem XML syntax using the tag. I have a problem that only TFS valid users (as the name suggests :)) show up the the combobox in the Visual Studio form. Is there any way for me to let that box contain all domain users without having to give all users some tfs read access ? If not then what is the minimum access that I can apply in TFS that I can give to all domain users ? Or is there some other way that I can't notice ?

    I have a table posts that could look like this: id | title | body | created | .. ------------------------------------------- I would like to use the boolean search feature that is offered by a MyISAM Table, but the posts table is InnoDB. So I created another table 'post_contents' that looks like this: post_id | body -------------------- That table is already filled with some contents and I can use the boolean search. However, I need to move the title field in the post_contents table as well and then copy the existing title-data to the new field. I know about the INSERT .. SELECT syntax, but I don't seem to be able to create the correct query.

I've skimmed and read the relevant RFC and I understand most of what each field means, but what I don't understand is how do I derive from the Audio/Video Format of the JMF, which parameters of the format compose the rtpmap registry entries I need to use. I see many times the fields m=audio 12548 RTP/AVP 0 8 101 a=rtpmap:0 PCMU/8000 a=rtpmap:8 PCMA/8000 a=rtpmap:101 telephone-event/8000 a=fmtp:101 0-16 a=silenceSupp:off - - - - a=ptime:20 a=sendrecv these are received from the pbx server I'm connecting to, what do they mean in the terms of the JMF audio format properties.     I am using the JQueryui Datepicker. But it doesn't really affect values entered manually in the input-field. Is there some way I can use the same (client) code to specify mask / validation on the input field (when the datapicker is not used - not just have datepicker output the correct format). What would be the most consistent way to do this in the JQuery framework? Thanks Remarks It seems jQuery put som restraints on input (I.e. I can only enter digits- mask "yymmdd") so the main thing is to get validation.

    Hi all, I have a symfony form which have created_at and updated_at field for date. But I want to populate this field with default value and not shown when the form shows. So that, the created_at will hold the current time when inserting new data and updated_at will hold current date when updating any data. Did anyone do something like this?
