  • LINQ - is SkipWhile broken?

    I'm a bit surprised to find the results of the following code, where I simply want to remove all 3s from a sequence of ints: var sequence = new [] { 1, 1, 2, 3 }; var result = sequence.SkipWhile(i => i == 3); // Oh noes! Returns { 1, 1, 2, 3 } Why isn't 3 skipped? My next thought was, OK, the Except operator will do the trick: var sequence = new [] { 1, 1, 2, 3 }; var result = sequence.Except(i => i == 3); // Oh noes! Returns { 1, 2 } In summary, Except removes the 3, but also removes non-distinct elements. Grr. SkipWhile doesn't skip the last element, even if it matches the condition. Grr. Can someone explain why SkipWhile doesn't skip the last element? And can anyone suggest what LINQ operator I can use to remove the '3' from the sequence above?

All of my attempts to move the blackNotePanel over by an arbitrary width -- wrapping it a BorderLayout, a MigLayout, etc. -- have failed or changed the spacing of the GridLayout radically. Any suggestions on how to move this over to the right by an arbitrary amount in pixels?

  • Rails Routing Broken In Production - Caching of routes.rb suspected

    Hi folks, i have an urgent problem. Essentially, my routing works on my localhost. But when i deployed this to production, the routes does not seem to work correctly. For example, given a new route "/invites" - sometimes i will get a 404, and sometimes it will work correctly. I suspect there is some caching going on somewhere, but i am not sure.   • Pagination links broken - php/jquery

    Hey, I'm still trying to get my pagination links to load properly dynamically. But I can't seem to find a solution to this one problem. vote down star Hi everyone, I am still trying to figure out how to fix my pagination script to work properly. the problem I am having is when I click any of the pagination number links to go the next page, the new content does not load. literally nothing happens and when looking at the console in Firebug, nothing is sent or loaded. I have on the main page 3 links to filter the content and display it. When any of these links are clicked the results are loaded and displayed along with the associated pagination numbers for that specific content. I believe the problem is coming from the sql query in generate_pagination.php (seen below). When I hard code the sql category part it works, but is not dynamic at all. This is why I'm calling $ids=$_GET['ids']; and trying to put that into the category section but then the numbers don't display at all.   • Broken images and security warnings in Facebook Connect

    I'm hoping this is just a bug on Facebook's end that will be fixed soon, but in my Facebook Connect app I'm launching the dialogue FB provides to make a post. This dialogue is launched on a page with an SSL connection. In this dialogue the profile pic for some users comes up with a security warning while others display correctly. I'm already setup to use Facebook's SSL javascript file instead of the HTTP file.

If i turn off "display:table-cell;" style in Firebug and then turn it back on, it fixes that menu node. any ideas? p.s.: i don't want to mess with the menu itself, since it's a part of a DNN Forum 4.4.3. I'd rather fix the CSS to make it show correctly.

  • setIncludesSubentities: in an NSFetchRequest is broken for entities across multiple persistent store

    Prior art which doesn't quite address this: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1774359/core-data-migration-error-message-model-does-not-contain-configuration-xyz I have narrowed this down to a specific issue. It takes a minute to set up, though; please bear with me. The gist of the issue is that a persistentStoreCoordinator (apparently) cannot preserve the part of an object graph where a managedObject is marked as a subentity of another when they are stored in different files. Here goes... 1) I have 2 xcdatamodel files, each containing a single entity. In runtime, when the managed object model is constructed, I manually define one entity as subentity of another using setSubentities:. This is because defining subentities across multiple files in the editor is not supported yet. I then return the complete model with modelByMergingModels. //Works! [mainEntity setSubentities:canvasEntities]; NSLog(@"confirm %@ is super for %@", [[[canvasEntities lastObject] superentity] name], [[canvasEntities lastObject] name]); //Output: "confirm Note is super for Browser" 2) I have modified the persistentStoreCoordinator method so that it sets a different store for each entity. Technically, it uses configurations, and each entity has one and only one configuration defined. //Also works! for ( NSString *configName in [[HACanvasPluginManager shared].registeredCanvasTypes valueForKey:@"viewControllerClassName"] ) { storeUrl = [NSURL fileURLWithPath:[[self applicationDocumentsDirectory] stringByAppendingPathComponent:[configName stringByAppendingPathExtension:@"sqlite"]]]; //NSLog(@"entities for configuration '%@': %@", configName, [[[self managedObjectModel] entitiesForConfiguration:configName] valueForKey:@"name"]); //Output: "entities for configuration 'HATextCanvasController': (Note)" //Output: "entities for configuration 'HAWebCanvasController': (Browser)" if (![persistentStoreCoordinator addPersistentStoreWithType:NSSQLiteStoreType configuration:configName URL:storeUrl options:options error:&error]) //etc 3) I have a fetchRequest set for the parent entity, with setIncludesSubentities: and setAffectedStores: just to be sure we get both 1) and 2) covered. When inserting objects of either entity, they both are added to the context and they both are fetched by the fetchedResultsController and displayed in the tableView as expected. // Create the fetch request for the entity. [fetchRequest setAffectedStores:[[managedObjectContext persistentStoreCoordinator] persistentStores]]; [fetchRequest setReturnsObjectsAsFaults:NO]; Here is where it starts misbehaving: after closing and relaunching the app, ONLY THE PARENT ENTITY is fetched. If I change the entity of the request using setEntity: to the entity for 'Note', all notes are fetched. If I change it to the entity for 'Browser', all the browsers are fetched. Let me reiterate that during the run in which an object is first inserted into the context, it will appear in the list. It is only after save and relaunch that a fetch request fails to traverse the hierarchy. Therefore, I can only conclude that it is the storage of the inheritance that is the problem. Let's recap why: - Both entities can be created, inserted into the context, and viewed, so the model is working - Both entities can be fetched with a single request, so the inheritance is working - I can confirm that the files are being stored separately and objects are going into their appropriate stores, so saving is working - Launching the app with either entity set for the request works, so retrieval from the store is working - This also means that traversing different stores with the request is working - By using a single store instead of multiple, the problem goes away completely, so creating, storing, fetching, viewing etc is working correctly. This leaves only one culprit (to my mind): the inheritance I'm setting with setSubentities: is effective only for objects creating during the session. Either objects/entities are being stored stripped of the inheritance info, or entity inheritance as defined programmatically only applies to new instances, or both. Either of these is unacceptable. Either it's a bug or I am way, way off course. I have been at this every which way for two days; any insight is greatly appreciated. The current workaround - just using a single store - works completely, except it won't be future-proof in the event that I remove one of the models from the app etc. It also boggles the mind because I can't see why you would have all this infrastructure for storing across multiple stores and for setting affected stores in fetch requests if it by core definition (of setSubentities:) doesn't work.

However, in Eclipse the build.xml file is flagged as having an error so my project no longer builds in Eclipse - it says that the default target ("help") doesn't exist (its in one of the Android build files referenced in build.xml and copmmand-line builds work just fine). So what do I need to do to keep Eclipse quiet?

  • Android Web App : Position:fixed broken?

    Hi all, I'm in the process of developping a Web Application for mobiles. I went with web applications because to me it seems a winning situation having to develop one application that could run also on iPhone / Windows Mobile / Palm etc. I started testing today after a few days of doing concepts, ideas and designs and what I wanted to do was have a menu that sticks at the bottom of the page. Exactly like the menu on the bottom in this iPhone application screenshot : http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3094/2656904921_1c54e93b4f.jpg Using CSS, I though it would be really easy to do this. Only using position:fixed; bottom:0; would have done the trick but I have found it doesn't behave the same on mobile browsers I tried to split my page in 2 sections : 1 would be a scrollable div (for the content) and the other one would be the bottom menu. Scrollable divs also do not work on Android. I also tried using frames with no luck either. Does anyone know of any way to re-create a menu that would stick to the bottom of a page for mobile phones? It worked until yesterday on every PC I installed or copied it to, no matter if 2.0, 3.0, 3.5 or 3.5 SP1 was installed, no matter if it was Win2000, XP or even Win7 (in total 100+ machines). Yesterday I did my normal installation procedure and wanted to start it one time to check if everything is working...and it wasn't. Edit: I'm using Visual Studio 2008 Prof.. Crash happens in Release- and Debug-Build on the client machine. Debugging the application directly on this machine is out of question I fear, 300+ Miles and they only have two computers to work with.

  • Jquery broken by GetResponse (email marketing) web form script

    I'm working on a site that relies on quite a bit of javascript. The problem is, I'm not a javascript guru in the least. Yes, bit off more than I can chew, here. I'm using jquery for a spy effect, and use GetResponse for email signups. If I implement my GetResponse script, it breaks the area later in the page which depends on the jquery script. Pull the GetResponse script and it works just fine. Problem is, I need them both. ;) The trick, I suppose, is that the GetResponse script is actually another Jquery script, so it's getting called twice... Any help? Instead of finding the actual fixture with that name, the fixture label is interpreted as a string.
