  How can I do this better (so it actually works : ) I have a LINQ Query that includes an order by that is based on a user preference. The user can decide if they would like the results ordered asc or desc. If fuserclass.SortOrder = "Ascending" Then Dim mydat = (From c In dc.ITRS Order By c.Date Ascending Select c) Else Dim mydat = (From c In dc.ITRS Order By c.Date Descending Select c) End If For each mydata in mydat ***<<<error "mydat is not declared"*** I know I could put my For Each loop inside the If and Else, but that seems silly to have the same code twice. I know you know of a better way : )

Use the O(nlogn) comparison sort bound, the theta(n) bound for bottom-up heap construction, and the order complexity if insertion sort to show that the worst-case number of inversions in a heap is O(nlogn).

• [MS Access 2003 SQL] Switch is causing #error, why and how can I fix it...

  I have 3 fields in my table: start, end (dates) and length (number, might be blank). My Aim is to calculate an end date using start and length where end doesn't exist... I have: SELECT Switch((g.length<>0) And IsDate(g.end),DateAdd("m",g.length,g.start)) AS field FROM table g If there is no start, end or length, Access displays blank - this is fine. If there is no end, but start and length are ok, the calculated date is shown - again fine. BUT If there is no end, or length, but a start exists, access displays #Error I don't understand why, and can't fix it, please help!

  I have a boost::posix_time::ptime that points to March 31st 2010 like this: ptime p(date(2010, Mar, 31)); I would like to subtract a month (and possibly years) from this date. From the docs I see these two operators: ptime operator-(time_duration) and ptime operator-(days) but none of them can work with months/years. If I try and do: time_duration duration = hours(24 * 30); ptime pp = p - duration; I'm getting March 1st and if I'm trying: ptime pp = p - days(30); I'm still getting March 1st, while I'd like to get February 28th. How can I achieve my desired result? (I would like to get the desired result also when subtracting a month from March 28, 29, 30)

I thought about fetching the header with curl but then I have to store it somewhere for each file and perform a date comparison.   I am trying to convert a date to a DateTime Object. My code works fine on my localhost (php version 5.3) but returns a blank DateTime object on my remote server (php version 5.2.14).   Look at your Gmail inbox. You have 3 main columns contains the Sender contains "THE_EMAIL_SUBJECT - THE_EMAIL_BODY" the date the email was sent on I note that when you resize the window, the Gmail web client automatically resizes the displayed text in the second column. It basically just truncates the text so that it always can display the sent on date to the right, and the sender to the left. It is a pretty neat effect, and I would like to have that effect for myself. Does anyone know how to do this in HTML/CSS/JS?

• .NET: Get all Outlook calendar items

  How can I get all items from a specific calendar (for a specific date). Lets say for instance that I have a calendar with a recurring item every Monday evening. When I request all items like this: CalendarItems = CalendarFolder.Items; CalendarItems.IncludeRecurrences = true; I only get 1 item... Is there an easy way to get all items (main item + derived items) from a calendar? In my specific situation it can be possible to set a date limit but it would be cool just to get all items (my recurring items are time limited themselves). I'm using the Microsoft Outlook 12 Object library (Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook).

  I have a content type with important "created" date field. And I have a menu link (in primary links) which is link to page that shows list of all nodes of my content type. (http://example.com/mycontenttype) I want to have menu links (visible in primary links) to each year when nodes of my content type are displayed (http://example.com/mycontenttype/2010). And I want to add these menu links from mymodule_nodeapi function, when the node is creating and only if it has a "created" date of new year. I know that I can create a pathes in mymodule_menu function, but it doesn't create a visible menu item. (Maybe I can somehow set parent_link_id or something else to do it?)

  Hi, What is the best way for me to check for new files added to a directory, I dont think the filesystemwatcher would be suitable as this is not an always on service but a method that runs when my program starts up. there are over 20,000 files in the folder structure I am monitoring, at present I am checking each file individually to see if the filepath is in my database table, however this is taking around ten minutes and I would like to speed it up is possible, I can store the date the folder was last checked - is it easy to get all files with createddate last checked date. anyone got any Ideas? • How do you know how much space an NSString (using default font) will occupy on a UITableView section

  Basically I want to copy the behavior in iPhone's Calendar where the day of week (Mon, Tue, Wed) is on the left side of the table's section header (left justified) while the formatted date (Apr 1, 2010, May 1, 2010) based on locale is on the right side of the table's section header (right justified). I was thinking of inserting a variable amount of space in between the day of week and formatted date but I first need to know the actual space consumed by the text on both sides to figure out how much space to add. So added the timestamp: new Date().getTime() part. That fixed the IE issue. I want o know why this happens in jQuery? Do I need to include a timestamp parameter to URL to avoid caching in all jQuery Ajax calls?

• Dates search in Drupal (greater than, less than) using CCK / views / facelet?

  I'm working in a site that manage events (like parties). Each event could have several fields, including date, that the user could add thanks to CCK module. Now, the problem is when I have to search using those fields. I could not find how to search for events between a range of dates. I discover the facelet module, which is pretty good, and it is very useful for some kind of search, but as far as I can see it is not possible search in a range. Also I do some testing using views, but again, with no results. I can not find how to search a date "greater than" and "less than". I will really appreciate any help.
