  • My linux server takes more than an hour to boot. Suggestions?

    - by jamieb
    I am building a CentOS 5.4 system that boots off a compact flash card using a card reader that emulates an IDE drive. It literally takes about an hour to boot. The ultra-slow part occurs when Grub is loading the kernel. Once that's done, the rest of the boot process only takes about a minute to get to a login prompt. Does anyone have any suggestions? I suspect that it may have to do with UDMA. Everything IDE-related in my BIOS seems to checkout. The read performance hdparm is telling me 1.77 MB/s. Ouch! (But even at that rate, it still shouldn't take an hour to decompress and load the kernel) [root@server ~]# hdparm -tT /dev/hdc /dev/hdc: Timing cached reads: 2444 MB in 2.00 seconds = 1222.04 MB/sec Timing buffered disk reads: 6 MB in 3.39 seconds = 1.77 MB/sec Trying to enable DMA is a no-go though: [root@server ~]# hdparm -d1 /dev/hdc /dev/hdc: setting using_dma to 1 (on) HDIO_SET_DMA failed: Operation not permitted using_dma = 0 (off) Here's some command outputs that might help: System [root@server ~]# uname -a Linux server.localdomain 2.6.18-164.el5xen #1 SMP Thu Sep 3 04:47:32 EDT 2009 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux PCI info: [root@server ~]# lspci -v 00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation 82945G/GZ/P/PL Memory Controller Hub (rev 02) Subsystem: Intel Corporation 82945G/GZ/P/PL Memory Controller Hub Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0 Capabilities: [e0] Vendor Specific Information 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 82945G/GZ Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 02) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Subsystem: Intel Corporation 82945G/GZ Integrated Graphics Controller Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 10 Memory at fdf00000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=512K] I/O ports at ff00 [size=8] Memory at d0000000 (32-bit, prefetchable) [size=256M] Memory at fdf80000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=256K] Capabilities: [90] Message Signalled Interrupts: 64bit- Queue=0/0 Enable- Capabilities: [d0] Power Management version 2 00:1d.0 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) USB UHCI Controller #1 (rev 01) (prog-if 00 [UHCI]) Subsystem: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) USB UHCI Controller #1 Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 0, IRQ 16 I/O ports at fe00 [size=32] 00:1d.1 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) USB UHCI Controller #2 (rev 01) (prog-if 00 [UHCI]) Subsystem: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) USB UHCI Controller #2 Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 0, IRQ 17 I/O ports at fd00 [size=32] 00:1d.2 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) USB UHCI Controller #3 (rev 01) (prog-if 00 [UHCI]) Subsystem: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) USB UHCI Controller #3 Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 0, IRQ 18 I/O ports at fc00 [size=32] 00:1d.3 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) USB UHCI Controller #4 (rev 01) (prog-if 00 [UHCI]) Subsystem: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) USB UHCI Controller #4 Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 0, IRQ 19 I/O ports at fb00 [size=32] 00:1d.7 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) USB2 EHCI Controller (rev 01) (prog-if 20 [EHCI]) Subsystem: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) USB2 EHCI Controller Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 0, IRQ 16 Memory at fdfff000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=1K] Capabilities: [50] Power Management version 2 Capabilities: [58] Debug port 00:1e.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 82801 PCI Bridge (rev e1) (prog-if 01 [Subtractive decode]) Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0 Bus: primary=00, secondary=01, subordinate=01, sec-latency=32 I/O behind bridge: 0000d000-0000dfff Memory behind bridge: fde00000-fdefffff Prefetchable memory behind bridge: 00000000fdd00000-00000000fdd00000 Capabilities: [50] #0d [0000] 00:1f.0 ISA bridge: Intel Corporation 82801GB/GR (ICH7 Family) LPC Interface Bridge (rev 01) Subsystem: Intel Corporation 82801GB/GR (ICH7 Family) LPC Interface Bridge Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 0 Capabilities: [e0] Vendor Specific Information 00:1f.2 IDE interface: Intel Corporation 82801GB/GR/GH (ICH7 Family) SATA IDE Controller (rev 01) (prog-if 80 [Master]) Subsystem: Intel Corporation 82801GB/GR/GH (ICH7 Family) SATA IDE Controller Flags: bus master, 66MHz, medium devsel, latency 0, IRQ 17 I/O ports at <unassigned> I/O ports at <unassigned> I/O ports at <unassigned> I/O ports at <unassigned> I/O ports at f800 [size=16] Capabilities: [70] Power Management version 2 00:1f.3 SMBus: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) SMBus Controller (rev 01) Subsystem: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) SMBus Controller Flags: medium devsel, IRQ 17 I/O ports at 0500 [size=32] 01:04.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. • Internet Explorer percent based layout issue

    - by Tom
    Heya, My goal is to make a layout that is 200% width and height, with four containers of equal height and width (100% each), using no javascript as the bear minimum (or preferably no hacks). Right now I am using HTML5, and CSS display:table. It works fine in Safari 4, Firefox 3.5, and Chrome 5. I haven't tested it yet on older versions. Nonetheless, in IE7 and IE8 this layout fails completely. (I do use the Javascript HTML5 enabling script /cc../, so it should not be the use of new HTML5 tags) Here is what I have: <!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <meta charset="UTF-8" /> <title>IE issue with layout</title> <style type="text/css" media="all"> /* styles */ @import url("reset.css"); /* Generall CSS */ .table { display:table; } .row { display:table-row; } .cell { display:table-cell; } /* Specific CSS */ html, body { //overflow:hidden; I later intend to limit the viewport } section#body { position:absolute; width:200%; height:200%; overflow:hidden; } section#body .row { width:200%; height:50%; overflow:hidden; } section#body .row .cell { width:50%; overflow:hidden; } section#body .row .cell section { display:block; width:100%; height:100%; overflow:hidden; } section#body #stage0 section header { text-align:center; height:20%; display:block; } section#body #stage0 section footer { display:block; height:80%; } </style> </head> <body> <section id="body" class="table"> <section class="row"> <section id="stage0" class="cell"> <section> <header> <form> <input type="text" name="q" /> <input type="submit" value="Search" /> </form> </header> <footer> <table id="scrollers"> </table> </footer> </section> </section> <section id="stage1" class="cell"> <section> content </section> </section> </section> <section class="row"> <section id="stage2" class="cell"> <section> content </section> </section> <section id="stage3" class="cell"> <section> content </section> </section> </section> </section> </body> </html> You can see it live here: http://www.tombarrasso.com/ie-issue/

  • Add note model in Rails

    - by dannymcc
    Hi Everyone, I am following the 15 minute blog tutorial on Ruby on Rails .com: http://media.rubyonrails.org/video/rails_blog_2.mov and am stumbling into some issues. I am using the following alterations to the names in the tutorial: posts = kases comments = notes I have setup the models as follows: class Kase < ActiveRecord::Base validates_presence_of :jobno has_many :notes belongs_to :company # foreign key: company_id belongs_to :person # foreign key in join table belongs_to :surveyor, :class_name => "Company", :foreign_key => "appointedsurveyor_id" belongs_to :surveyorperson, :class_name => "Person", :foreign_key => "surveyorperson_id" def to_param jobno end and... class Note < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :kase end The Notes controller look like this: # POST /notes # POST /notes.xml def create @kase = Kase.find(params[:kase_id]) @note = @kase.notes.build(params[:note]) redirect_to @kase end and the database scheme for Kases looks like this: create_table "notes", :force => true do |t| t.integer "kase_id" t.text "body" t.datetime "created_at" t.datetime "updated_at" end and for kases... create_table "kases", :force => true do |t| t.string "jobno" t.date "dateinstructed" t.string "clientref" t.string "clientcompanyname" t.text "clientcompanyaddress" t.string "clientcompanyfax" t.string "casehandlername" t.string "casehandlertel" t.string "casehandleremail" t.text "casesubject" t.string "transport" t.string "goods" t.string "claimantname" t.string "claimantaddressline1" t.string "claimantaddressline2" t.string "claimantaddressline3" t.string "claimantaddresscity" t.string "claimantaddresspostcode" t.string "claimantcontact" t.string "claimanttel" t.string "claimantmob" t.string "claimantemail" t.string "claimanturl" t.string "lyingatlocationname" t.string "lyingatlocationaddressline1" t.string "lyingatlocationaddressline2" t.string "lyingatlocationaddressline3" t.string "lyingatlocationaddresscity" t.string "lyingatlocationaddresspostcode" t.string "lyingatlocationcontactname" t.string "lyingattel" t.string "lyingatmobile" t.string "lyingatlocationurl" t.text "comments" t.string "invoicenumber" t.string "netamount" t.string "vat" t.string "grossamount" t.date "dateclosed" t.date "datepaid" t.datetime "filecreated" t.string "avatar_file_name" t.string "avatar_content_type" t.integer "avatar_file_size" t.datetime "avatar_updated_at" t.datetime "created_at" t.datetime "updated_at" t.string "kase_status" t.string "invoice_date" t.integer "surveyorperson_id" t.integer "appointedsurveyor_id" t.integer "person_id" t.string "company_id" t.string "dischargeamount" t.string "dishchargeheader" t.text "highrisesubject" end Whenever I enter a note into the kase show view's note entry form: <h2>Notes</h2> <div id="sub-notes"> <%= render :partial => @kase.notes %> </div> <% form_for [@kase, Note.new] do |f| %> <p> <%= f.label :body, "New Note" %><br /> <%= f.text_area :body %> </p> <p><%= f.submit "Add Note" %></p> <% end %> partial: <% div_for note do %> <p> <strong>Created <%= time_ago_in_words(note.created_at) %> ago</strong><br /> <%= h(note.body) %> </p> <% end %> I get the following error: ActiveRecord::RecordNotFound in NotesController#create Couldn't find Kase with ID=Test Case I have tried removing the def to_param jobno end from the kase model, but the same error shows. Any ideas what I'm missing? Thanks, Danny

  • How to associate newly created SurfaceHolder to MediaPlayer

    - by fayerth
    In my code, I want to be able to temporarily hide (and subsequently show) a video. I am using a SurfaceView + MediaPlayer combination instead of the VideoView due to requirements. However, I am facing difficulties in getting video playback to occur as expected after I show the SurfaceView. My code excerpts includes the following: public void show() { if (mSurface != null) mSurface.setVisibility(View.VISIBLE); } public void hide() { if (mSurface != null) { if (isInPlaybackState()) pause(); mSurface.setVisibility(View.INVISIBLE); } } @Override public void surfaceCreated(final SurfaceHolder holder) { mHolder = holder; openVideo(); } @Override public void surfaceDestroyed(final SurfaceHolder holder) { // After this, the surface can't be used again mHolder = null; } private void openVideo() { if (mAssetPath == null || !mAssetPath.isEmpty() || mHolder == null) { // Not ready yet; try again later return; } // Pause music playback service Intent i = new Intent("com.android.music.musicservicecommand"); i.putExtra("command", "pause"); getActivity().sendBroadcast(i); if (mPlayer == null) { initializePlayer(); } else { mPlayer.setDisplay(mHolder); } } Based on the above, when I call hide(), surfaceDestroyed(SurfaceHolder) gets triggered. When I later call show(), surfaceCreated(SurfaceHolder) gets triggered, which will call openVideo() and associate the player with the newly provided SurfaceHolder. The above works as expected, and I believe this should be the correct process; however, when I call mPlayer.start(), I would hear the video's audio playing without any video and see the following error messages (which eventually causes the media playback to stop and complete, as noted by the disconnect logs): 10-23 11:29:42.775: E/MediaPlayer(4204): Error (1,-2147483648) 10-23 11:29:42.795: E/MediaPlayer(4204): Error (-38,0) 10-23 11:29:42.805: E/MediaPlayer(4204): Error (1,-2147483648) 10-23 11:29:42.810: V/MediaPlayer(4204): message received msg=100, ext1=1, ext2=-2147483648 10-23 11:29:42.810: E/MediaPlayer(4204): error (1, -2147483648) 10-23 11:29:42.810: V/MediaPlayer(4204): callback application 10-23 11:29:42.810: V/MediaPlayer(4204): back from callback 10-23 11:29:42.825: E/MediaPlayer(4204): Error (1,-2147483648) 10-23 11:29:42.850: V/MediaPlayer-JNI(4204): getCurrentPosition: 671668 (msec) 10-23 11:29:42.850: V/MediaPlayer-JNI(4204): getCurrentPosition: 671668 (msec) 10-23 11:29:42.850: V/MediaPlayer(4204): message received msg=100, ext1=1, ext2=-2147483648 10-23 11:29:42.850: E/MediaPlayer(4204): error (1, -2147483648) 10-23 11:29:42.850: V/MediaPlayer(4204): callback application 10-23 11:29:42.850: V/MediaPlayer(4204): back from callback 10-23 11:29:42.875: V/MediaPlayer-JNI(4204): stop 10-23 11:29:42.875: V/MediaPlayer(4204): stop 10-23 11:29:42.875: E/MediaPlayer(4204): stop called in state 0 10-23 11:29:42.875: V/MediaPlayer(4204): message received msg=100, ext1=-38, ext2=0 10-23 11:29:42.875: E/MediaPlayer(4204): error (-38, 0) 10-23 11:29:42.875: V/MediaPlayer(4204): callback application 10-23 11:29:42.875: V/MediaPlayer(4204): back from callback 10-23 11:29:42.875: V/MediaPlayer-JNI(4204): reset 10-23 11:29:42.875: V/MediaPlayer(4204): reset 10-23 11:29:42.900: V/MediaPlayer-JNI(4204): release 10-23 11:29:42.900: V/MediaPlayer(4204): setListener 10-23 11:29:42.900: V/MediaPlayer(4204): disconnect 10-23 11:29:42.910: V/MediaPlayer(4204): destructor 10-23 11:29:42.910: V/MediaPlayer(4204): disconnect Has anyone encountered this issue before and found a workaround? Or would the only option be to create a new MediaPlayer as well?

  • Blend Interaction Behaviour gives "points to immutable instance" error

    - by kennethkryger
    I have a UserControl that is a base class for other user controls, that are shown in "modal view". I want to have all user controls fading in, when shown and fading out when closed. I also want a behavior, so that the user can move the controls around.My contructor looks like this: var tg = new TransformGroup(); tg.Children.Add(new ScaleTransform()); RenderTransform = tg; var behaviors = Interaction.GetBehaviors(this); behaviors.Add(new TranslateZoomRotateBehavior()); Loaded += ModalDialogBase_Loaded; And the ModalDialogBase_Loaded method looks like this: private void ModalDialogBase_Loaded(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { var fadeInStoryboard = (Storyboard)TryFindResource("modalDialogFadeIn"); fadeInStoryboard.Begin(this); } When I press a Close-button on the control this method is called: protected virtual void Close() { var fadeOutStoryboard = (Storyboard)TryFindResource("modalDialogFadeOut"); fadeOutStoryboard = fadeOutStoryboard.Clone(); fadeOutStoryboard.Completed += delegate { RaiseEvent(new RoutedEventArgs(ClosedEvent)); }; fadeOutStoryboard.Begin(this); } The storyboard for fading out look like this: <Storyboard x:Key="modalDialogFadeOut"> <DoubleAnimationUsingKeyFrames Storyboard.TargetProperty="(UIElement.RenderTransform).(TransformGroup.Children)[0].(ScaleTransform.ScaleX)" Storyboard.TargetName="{x:Null}"> <EasingDoubleKeyFrame KeyTime="0" Value="1"> <EasingDoubleKeyFrame.EasingFunction> <BackEase EasingMode="EaseIn" Amplitude="0.3" /> </EasingDoubleKeyFrame.EasingFunction> </EasingDoubleKeyFrame> <EasingDoubleKeyFrame KeyTime="0:0:0.4" Value="0"> <EasingDoubleKeyFrame.EasingFunction> <BackEase EasingMode="EaseIn" Amplitude="0.3" /> </EasingDoubleKeyFrame.EasingFunction> </EasingDoubleKeyFrame> </DoubleAnimationUsingKeyFrames> <DoubleAnimationUsingKeyFrames Storyboard.TargetProperty="(UIElement.RenderTransform).(TransformGroup.Children)[0].(ScaleTransform.ScaleY)" Storyboard.TargetName="{x:Null}"> <EasingDoubleKeyFrame KeyTime="0" Value="1"> <EasingDoubleKeyFrame.EasingFunction> <BackEase EasingMode="EaseIn" Amplitude="0.3" /> </EasingDoubleKeyFrame.EasingFunction> </EasingDoubleKeyFrame> <EasingDoubleKeyFrame KeyTime="0:0:0.4" Value="0"> <EasingDoubleKeyFrame.EasingFunction> <BackEase EasingMode="EaseIn" Amplitude="0.3" /> </EasingDoubleKeyFrame.EasingFunction> </EasingDoubleKeyFrame> </DoubleAnimationUsingKeyFrames> <DoubleAnimationUsingKeyFrames Storyboard.TargetProperty="(UIElement.Opacity)" Storyboard.TargetName="{x:Null}"> <EasingDoubleKeyFrame KeyTime="0" Value="1" /> <EasingDoubleKeyFrame KeyTime="0:0:0.3" Value="0" /> <EasingDoubleKeyFrame KeyTime="0:0:0.4" Value="0" /> </DoubleAnimationUsingKeyFrames> </Storyboard> If the user control is show, and the user does NOT move it around on the screen, everything works fine. However, if the user DOES move the control around, I get the following error when the modalDialogFadeOut storyboard is started: 'Children' property value in the path '(0).(1)[0].(2)' points to immutable instance of 'System.Windows.Media.TransformCollection'. How can fix this?

  • Need suggestions on how to extract data from .docx/.doc file then into mssql

    - by DarkPP
    I'm suppose to develop an automated application for my project, it will load past-year examination/exercises paper (word file), detect the sections accordingly, extract the questions and images in that section, and then store the questions and images into the database. (Preview of the question paper is at the bottom of this post) So I need some suggestions on how to extract data from a word file, then inserting them into a database. Currently I have a few methods to do so, however I have no idea how I could implement them when the file contains textboxes with background image. The question has to link with the image. Method One (Make use of ms office interop) Load the word file - Extract image, save into a folder - Extract text, save as .txt - Extract text from .txt then store in db Question: How i detect the section and question. How I link the image to the question. Extract text from word file (Working): private object missing = Type.Missing; private object sFilename = @"C:\temp\questionpaper.docx"; private object sFilename2 = @"C:\temp\temp.txt"; private object readOnly = true; object fileFormat = Word.WdSaveFormat.wdFormatText; private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { Word.Application wWordApp = new Word.Application(); wWordApp.DisplayAlerts = Word.WdAlertLevel.wdAlertsNone; Word.Document dFile = wWordApp.Documents.Open(ref sFilename, ref missing, ref readOnly, ref missing, ref missing, ref missing, ref missing, ref missing, ref missing, ref missing, ref missing, ref missing, ref missing, ref missing, ref missing, ref missing); dFile.SaveAs(ref sFilename2, ref fileFormat, ref missing, ref missing, ref missing, ref missing, ref missing, ref missing,ref missing, ref missing,ref missing,ref missing,ref missing,ref missing, ref missing,ref missing); dFile.Close(ref missing, ref missing, ref missing); } Extract image from word file (Doesn't work on image inside textbox): private Word.Application wWordApp; private int m_i; private object missing = Type.Missing; private object filename = @"C:\temp\questionpaper.docx"; private object readOnly = true; private void CopyFromClipbordInlineShape(String imageIndex) { Word.InlineShape inlineShape = wWordApp.ActiveDocument.InlineShapes[m_i]; inlineShape.Select(); wWordApp.Selection.Copy(); Computer computer = new Computer(); if (computer.Clipboard.GetDataObject() != null) { System.Windows.Forms.IDataObject data = computer.Clipboard.GetDataObject(); if (data.GetDataPresent(System.Windows.Forms.DataFormats.Bitmap)) { Image image = (Image)data.GetData(System.Windows.Forms.DataFormats.Bitmap, true); image.Save("C:\\temp\\DoCremoveImage" + imageIndex + ".png", System.Drawing.Imaging.ImageFormat.Png); } } } private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { wWordApp = new Word.Application(); wWordApp.Documents.Open(ref filename, ref missing, ref readOnly, ref missing, ref missing, ref missing, ref missing, ref missing, ref missing, ref missing, ref missing, ref missing, ref missing, ref missing, ref missing, ref missing); try { for (int i = 1; i <= wWordApp.ActiveDocument.InlineShapes.Count; i++) { m_i = i; CopyFromClipbordInlineShape(Convert.ToString(i)); } } finally { object save = false; wWordApp.Quit(ref save, ref missing, ref missing); wWordApp = null; } } Method Two Unzip the word file (.docx) - Copy the media(image) folder, store somewhere - Parse the XML file - Store the text in db Any suggestion/help would be greatly appreciated :D Preview of the word file: (backup link: http://i.stack.imgur.com/YF1Ap.png)

    hey, How do I make nested li's the same width? When I use the below code each nested li is only as wide as it's text + margin. I'd like all of the li's to be as wide as the widest li under the parent ul. eg: <ul id="menu"> <li <a href="#" title="Menu a">Menu a</a></li> <li <a href="#" title="Menu b">Menu b</a></li> <li <a href="#" title="Nested Menu">Nested Menu</a> <ul> <li <a href="#" title="Menu Item">Menu Item</li> <li <a href="#" title="Long Menu Item">Long Menu Item</a></li> <li <a href="#" title="Longer Menu Item">Longer Menu Item</a></li> </ul> </li> <li <a href="#" title="Menu z">Menu z</a></li> </ul> with css: <style type="text/css" media="all"> * { padding:0; margin:0; } body, html { width: 100%; height: 100%; } #wrapper { width: 800px; height: 100%; margin: auto; } #menu { margin: 0 0 0 8px; padding: 0; font-size: 14px; font-weight: normal; } #menu ul { list-style-type:none; list-style-position:outside; position:relative; z-index:300; height: 32px; font-weight:bold; white-space: nowrap; padding:0; } #menu a {text-decoration:none; line-height: 32px; } #menu a:hover { } #menu li { float:left; position:relative; display: inline; height: 100%; list-style-type: none; padding: 0 20px; background: #ccc; } #menu ul { position:absolute; display:none; left:0px; background: #BDCCD4; width:100%; } #menu ul a, #menu li a { display: block; } #menu li ul { background: #BDCCD4; display:block; } #menu li ul a { font-weight: normal; height:auto; float:left; } #menu ul ul { padding: 0 9px; display:block; } #menu li ul li { padding: 0 9px; background: #BDCCD4; } #menu li:hover { background: #ddd; height: 32px; } #menu li li:hover, #menu li li li:hover { background: #ddd; height: 32px; } #menu li a:link, #menu li a:visited { text-decoration: none; color: #003E7E; margin: auto; }

  • Cisco ASA 5505 - L2TP over IPsec

    - by xraminx
    I have followed this document on cisco site to set up the L2TP over IPsec connection. When I try to establish a VPN to ASA 5505 from my Windows XP, after I click on "connect" button, the "Connecting ...." dialog box appears and after a while I get this error message: Error 800: Unable to establish VPN connection. The VPN server may be unreachable, or security parameters may not be configured properly for this connection. ASA version 7.2(4) ASDM version 5.2(4) Windows XP SP3 Windows XP and ASA 5505 are on the same LAN for test purposes. Edit 1: There are two VLANs defined on the cisco device (the standard setup on cisco ASA5505). - port 0 is on VLAN2, outside; - and ports 1 to 7 on VLAN1, inside. I run a cable from my linksys home router (10.50.10.1) to the cisco ASA5505 router on port 0 (outside). Port 0 have IP 192.168.1.1 used internally by cisco and I have also assigned the external IP 10.50.10.206 to port 0 (outside). I run a cable from Windows XP to Cisco router on port 1 (inside). Port 1 is assigned an IP from Cisco router 192.168.1.2. The Windows XP is also connected to my linksys home router via wireless (10.50.10.141). Edit 2: When I try to establish vpn, the Cisco device real time Log viewer shows 7 entries like this: Severity:5 Date:Sep 15 2009 Time: 14:51:29 SyslogID: 713904 Destination IP = 10.50.10.141, Decription: No crypto map bound to interface... dropping pkt Edit 3: This is the setup on the router right now. • Themes outside application.

    - by Marek
    Hi all I read http://forum.kohanaframework.org/comments.php?DiscussionID=5744&page=1#Item_0 and I want to use similar solution, but with db. In my site controller after(): $theme = $page->get_theme_name(); //Orange Kohana::set_module_path('themes', Kohana::get_module_path('themes').'/'.$theme); $this->template = View::factory('layout') I checked with firebug: fire::log(Kohana::get_module_path('themes')); // D:\tools\xampp\htdocs\kohana\themes/Orange I am sure that path exists. I have directly in 'Orange' folder 'views' folder with layout.php file. But I am getting: The requested view layout could not be found Extended Kohana_Core is just: public static function get_module_path($module_key) { return self::$_modules[$module_key]; } public static function set_module_path($module_key, $path) { self::$_modules[$module_key] = $path; } Could anybody help me with solving that issue? Maybe it is a .htaccess problem: # Turn on URL rewriting RewriteEngine On # Put your installation directory here: # If your URL is www.example.com/kohana/, use /kohana/ # If your URL is www.example.com/, use / RewriteBase /kohana/ # Protect application and system files from being viewed RewriteCond $1 ^(application|system|modules) # Rewrite to index.php/access_denied/URL RewriteRule ^(.*)$ / [PT,L] RewriteRule ^(media) - [PT,L] RewriteRule ^(themes) - [PT,L] # Allow these directories and files to be displayed directly: # - index.php (DO NOT FORGET THIS!) # - robots.txt # - favicon.ico # - Any file inside of the images/, js/, or css/ directories RewriteCond $1 ^(index\.php|robots\.txt|favicon\.ico|static) # No rewriting RewriteRule ^(.*)$ - [PT,L] # Rewrite all other URLs to index.php/URL RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php/$1 [PT,L] Could somebody help? • Binding a property to change the listbox items foreground individually for each item

    - by Eyal-Shilony
    I'm trying to change the foreground color of the items in the ListBox individually for each item, I've already posted a similar question but this one is more concrete. I hoped that the state of the color is reserved for each item added to the ListBox, so I tried to create a property (in this case "HotkeysForeground"), bind it and change the color when the items are added in the "HotkeyManager_NewHotkey" event, the problem it's changing the foreground color for all the items in the ListBox. How can I do that per item ? Here is the ViewModel I use. namespace Monkey.Core.ViewModel { using System; using System.Collections.ObjectModel; using System.Windows.Media; using Monkey.Core.SystemMonitor.Accessibility; using Monkey.Core.SystemMonitor.Input; public class MainWindowViewModel : WorkspaceViewModel { private readonly FocusManager _focusManager; private readonly HotkeyManager _hotkeyManager; private readonly ObservableCollection<string> _hotkeys; private Color _foregroundColor; private string _title; public MainWindowViewModel() { _hotkeys = new ObservableCollection<string>(); _hotkeyManager = new HotkeyManager(); _hotkeyManager.NewHotkey += HotkeyManager_NewHotkey; _focusManager = new FocusManager(); _focusManager.Focus += FocusManager_Focus; } public Color HotkeysForeground { get { return _foregroundColor; } set { _foregroundColor = value; OnPropertyChanged(() => HotkeysForeground); } } public ReadOnlyObservableCollection<string> Hotkeys { get { return new ReadOnlyObservableCollection<string>(_hotkeys); } } public string Title { get { return _title; } set { _title = value; OnPropertyChanged(() => Title); } } protected override void OnDispose() { base.OnDispose(); _hotkeyManager.Dispose(); _focusManager.Dispose(); } private void FocusManager_Focus(object sender, FocusManagerEventArgs e) { Title = e.Title; } private void HotkeyManager_NewHotkey(object sender, EventArgs eventArgs) { HotkeysForeground = _hotkeys.Count <= 2 ? Colors.Blue : Colors.Brown; _hotkeys.Clear(); foreach (var hotkey in _hotkeyManager.GetHotkeys()) { _hotkeys.Add(hotkey); } } } } Here is the view. <Window x:Class="Monkey.View.MainWindow" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:System="clr-namespace:System;assembly=mscorlib" Title="{Binding Mode=OneWay, Path=Title, UpdateSourceTrigger=PropertyChanged}" Height="200" Width="200" ShowInTaskbar="False" WindowStyle="ToolWindow" Topmost="True" ResizeMode="CanResizeWithGrip" AllowsTransparency="False"> <Window.Resources> <SolidColorBrush Color="{Binding HotkeysForeground}" x:Key="HotkeysBrush"/> </Window.Resources> <ListBox Canvas.Left="110" Canvas.Top="74" Name="HotkeyList" Height="Auto" Width="Auto" HorizontalContentAlignment="Left" BorderThickness="0" ScrollViewer.CanContentScroll="False" ScrollViewer.HorizontalScrollBarVisibility="Disabled" ScrollViewer.VerticalScrollBarVisibility="Disabled" ItemsSource="{Binding Path=Hotkeys}" VerticalAlignment="Stretch" VerticalContentAlignment="Center" FontSize="20"> <ListBox.ItemContainerStyle> <Style TargetType="ListBoxItem"> <Setter Property="IsEnabled" Value="False" /> </Style> </ListBox.ItemContainerStyle> <ListBox.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <Label Content="{Binding}" Foreground="{StaticResource HotkeysBrush}"/> </DataTemplate> </ListBox.ItemTemplate> </ListBox> </Window> Thank you in advance.

  • Autodetect/mount SDCards and run script for them on Linux

    - by Brendan
    Hey Everyone, I'm currently running SME Server, and need to have a script run upon the attachment of SD Cards to my server. The script itself works fine (it copies the contents of the cards), but the automounting and execution of the script is where I'm having issues. The I have a USB hub consisting of 10 USB ports; that shows up as: [root@server ~]# lsusb Bus 004 Device 002: ID 0000:0000 Bus 004 Device 001: ID 0000:0000 Bus 003 Device 001: ID 0000:0000 Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000 Bus 001 Device 055: ID 1a40:0101 TERMINUS TECHNOLOGY INC. Bus 001 Device 051: ID 1a40:0101 TERMINUS TECHNOLOGY INC. Bus 001 Device 050: ID 1a40:0101 TERMINUS TECHNOLOGY INC. Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000 (The hub is the TERMINUS TECHNOLOGY INC entries) As I cannot plug SD Cards directly into the server; I use a USB to SD card attachement (10 of them) plugged into the hub to read the cards. Upon pluggig the 10 attachments (without cards) into the hub; lsusb yields the following: [root@server ~]# lsusb Bus 004 Device 002: ID 0000:0000 Bus 004 Device 001: ID 0000:0000 Bus 003 Device 001: ID 0000:0000 Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000 Bus 001 Device 073: ID 05e3:0723 Genesys Logic, Inc. Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000 As you can see, the readers are the "Gensys Logic, Inc" entries. Plugging in an SD card to a reader doesn't affect lsusb (it reads exactly as above), however my system recognises the cards fine; as indicated by dmesg: Attached scsi generic sg11 at scsi54, channel 0, id 0, lun 0, type 0 USB Mass Storage device found at 73 SCSI device sdd: 31388672 512-byte hdwr sectors (16071 MB) sdd: Write Protect is on sdd: Mode Sense: 03 00 80 00 sdd: assuming drive cache: write through SCSI device sdd: 31388672 512-byte hdwr sectors (16071 MB) sdd: Write Protect is on sdd: Mode Sense: 03 00 80 00 sdd: assuming drive cache: write through sdd: sdd1 SCSI device sdd: 31388672 512-byte hdwr sectors (16071 MB) sdd: Write Protect is on sdd: Mode Sense: 03 00 80 00 sdd: assuming drive cache: write through SCSI device sdd: 31388672 512-byte hdwr sectors (16071 MB) sdd: Write Protect is on sdd: Mode Sense: 03 00 80 00 sdd: assuming drive cache: write through sdd: sdd1 SCSI device sdd: 31388672 512-byte hdwr sectors (16071 MB) sdd: Write Protect is on sdd: Mode Sense: 03 00 80 00 sdd: assuming drive cache: write through SCSI device sdd: 31388672 512-byte hdwr sectors (16071 MB) sdd: Write Protect is on sdd: Mode Sense: 03 00 80 00 sdd: assuming drive cache: write through sdd: sdd1 If I manually mount sdd1 (mount /dev/sdd1 /somedirectory/) this works fine. What I'm really after is a solution that automounts each of the cards as they are inputted into the reader; and executes a script for them (this will involve copying their contents to another directory). My problem is that I don't know how to do this; I don't think udev will work as the USB devices don't change; if I could somehow get udev working with /dev/disk/by-path/ however I think this is doable (it seems to keep constant entries). ls /dev/disk returns: pci-0000:00:1d.7-usb-0:4.1.1.1:1.0-scsi-0:0:0:0 pci-0000:00:1d.7-usb-0:4.1.1.2:1.0-scsi-0:0:0:0 pci-0000:00:1d.7-usb-0:4.1.1.3:1.0-scsi-0:0:0:0 pci-0000:00:1d.7-usb-0:4.1.1.4:1.0-scsi-0:0:0:0 pci-0000:00:1d.7-usb-0:4.1.2:1.0-scsi-0:0:0:0 pci-0000:00:1d.7-usb-0:4.1.3:1.0-scsi-0:0:0:0 pci-0000:00:1d.7-usb-0:4.1.4:1.0-scsi-0:0:0:0 pci-0000:00:1d.7-usb-0:4.2:1.0-scsi-0:0:0:0 pci-0000:00:1d.7-usb-0:4.3:1.0-scsi-0:0:0:0 pci-0000:00:1d.7-usb-0:4.4:1.0-scsi-0:0:0:0 pci-0000:00:1d.7-usb-0:4.4:1.0-scsi-0:0:0:0-part1 pci-0000:0b:01.0-scsi-0:0:1:0 pci-0000:0b:01.0-scsi-0:0:1:0-part1 pci-0000:0b:01.0-scsi-0:0:1:0-part2 From above, we can see I have only one card plugged into the reader (pci-0000:00:1d.7-usb-0:4.4:1.0-scsi-0:0:0:0-part1). Going mount /dev/disk/by-path/pci-0000\:00\:1d.7-usb-0\:4.4\:1.0-scsi-0\:0\:0\:0-part1 Works and places the card under /media/usbdisk/, however: mount /dev/disk/by-path/pci-0000\:00\:1d.7-usb-0\:4.4\:1.0-scsi-0\:0\:0\:0-part1 slot1/ doesn't work, and returns "mount: can't get address for /dev/disk/by-path/pci-0000" Any ideas and solutions would be great, I've seen the knowledge of a lot of the guys on here before so I'm hopeful someone can help me out. Thanks

  • MIME "Content-Type" folding and parameter question regarding RFCs?

    - by BastiBense
    Hello, I'm trying to implement a basic MIME parser for the multipart/related in C++/Qt. So far I've been writing some basic parser code for headers, and I'm reading the RFCs to get an idea how to do everything as close to the specification as possible. Unfortunately there is a part in the RFC that confuses me a bit: From RFC882 Section 3.1.1: Each header field can be viewed as a single, logical line of ASCII characters, comprising a field-name and a field-body. For convenience, the field-body portion of this conceptual entity can be split into a multiple-line representation; this is called "folding". The general rule is that wherever there may be linear-white-space (NOT simply LWSP-chars), a CRLF immediately followed by AT LEAST one LWSP-char may instead be inserted. Thus, the single line Alright, so I simply parse a header field and if a CRLF follows with linear whitespace, I simply concat those in a useful manner to result in a single header line. Let's proceed... From RFC2045 Section 5.1: In the Augmented BNF notation of RFC 822, a Content-Type header field value is defined as follows: content := "Content-Type" ":" type "/" subtype *(";" parameter) ; Matching of media type and subtype ; is ALWAYS case-insensitive. [...] parameter := attribute "=" value attribute := token ; Matching of attributes ; is ALWAYS case-insensitive. value := token / quoted-string token := 1*<any (US-ASCII) CHAR except SPACE, CTLs, or tspecials> Okay. So it seems if you want to specify a Content-Type header with parameters, simple do it like this: Content-Type: multipart/related; foo=bar; something=else ... and a folded version of the same header would look like this: Content-Type: multipart/related; foo=bar; something=else Correct? Good. As I kept reading the RFCs, I came across the following in RFC2387 Section 5.1 (Examples): Content-Type: Multipart/Related; boundary=example-1 start="<[email protected]>"; type="Application/X-FixedRecord" start-info="-o ps" --example-1 Content-Type: Application/X-FixedRecord Content-ID: <[email protected]> [data] --example-1 Content-Type: Application/octet-stream Content-Description: The fixed length records Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64 Content-ID: <[email protected]> [data] --example-1-- Hmm, this is odd. Do you see the Content-Type header? It has a number of parameters, but not all have a ";" as parameter delimiter. Maybe I just didn't read the RFCs correctly, but if my parser works strictly like the specification defines, the type and start-info parameters would result in a single string or worse, a parser error. Guys, what's your thought on this? Just a typo in the RFCs? Or did I miss something? Thanks!

  • Deployment Workbench no longer available after PXE boot

    - by Patrick
    Our build process revolves around windows Deployment Workbench. Unfortunately this was setup by someone who is no longer with the company, and no-one has ever dared/needed to make any changes. The other day it stopped working. It turns out that one of our build guys started thinking about changing some stuff in it, clicked something and now it no longer works (He is saying now that he right clicked on the 'LAB' entry in 'Deployment points' and hit 'Update', which took some time to run through apparently). The job has fallen on me to resolve and frankly I'm not sure what I'm doing. I was wondering if someone with more experience than me can provide some pointers as to troubleshooting cos I'm feeling quite a lot in the dark here. On the server I have Deployment Workbench up and running (MMC snapin) version 3.0. There is a WDS service that appears to be running ok, as does the tFTPd service. Nothing specific to this in event logs. From the client side; PXE boot works and gets you to the Win PE launch, and it has the correct company logo as the background (proving to me that its loading win PE from the network). WPEINIT runs, and asks for domain credentials, here the team simply put User/Pass/Domain in the boxes and click ok. Normally the build would kick off. Instead they get an error message saying that the \NATBLU01\Distribution$ share isn't available. Checking \NATBLU01\Distribution$ shows that its there and accessible over the network. Security/permissions seem ok, even 'ANONYMOUS LOGON' has read access to that share so I don't see that being a problem. Digging the trace files from C:\MININT\SMSOSD\OSDLOGS\ after an attempt to run the build I can see an error saying much the same - <![LOG[Validating connection to \\NATBLU01\Distribution$]LOG]!><time="16:42:14.000+000" date="03-15-2012" component="LiteTouch" context="" type="1" thread="" file="LiteTouch"> <![LOG[FindFile: The file OSDConnectToUNC.exe could not be found in any standard locations.]LOG]!><time="16:42:14.000+000" date="03-15-2012" component="LiteTouch" context="" type="1" thread="" file="LiteTouch"> <![LOG[The network location cannot be reached. For information about network troubleshooting, see Windows Help.]LOG]!><time="16:42:24.000+000" date="03-15-2012" component="LiteTouch" context="" type="3" thread="" file="LiteTouch"> <![LOG[ERROR - Unable to map a network drive to \\NATBLU01\Distribution$.]LOG]!><time="16:42:24.000+000" date="03-15-2012" component="LiteTouch" context="" type="3" thread="" file="LiteTouch"> BDD.LOG shows much the same. Full copies of the .LOG files can both files be found here : BDD.LOG LITETOUCH.LOG I can get to a command prompt from the Win PE that boots from PXE, however there isn't any network stuff there. IPCONFIG returns nothing so none of the tests I would usually run resolve anything. I'm at a loss frankly. I did wonder if I could perhaps start a new build process but if the change to the DeploymentWorkbench has knocked it offline I don't think I'm going to be able to create a new deployment. Failing that; we do have a deployment point labeled type 'Media' which appears to be a DVD ISO image of one of the builds, but its dated 2008, is it possible to export the network build to .ISO and build from DVD? We are looking at new hardware to run this from anyway (for the impending Windows 7 roll out) so a temporary work round isn't going to be too much of a problem. All assistance is appreciated! EDIT : OK. Got it working again. Solution was close to Newmanth's idea. The problem was that our PE image didn't appear to be connecting the network. I had an older copy of the PE boot.WIM on a stick that I had been using for other purposes. I booted that and correctly got a network connection. Showed a correct internal IP and could ping out etc etc. However I was still getting the same errors in all the logs and in when wpeinit was running. What I did seperately was to update the PE image that DeploymentWorkbench was pushing out to display a different back ground. I wanted to prove that I was working in the correct place. Turns out that I wasn't. I went and looked at the other deployment stuff we had on this machine, Windows Deployment Services was installed and although all the install images are off line the boot image was online, so I uploaded the copy from my stick to that. Booted straight off. And fixed. Working. Yay! For anyone stumbling across this in the future you may find that although your deployment images are located in the DeploymentWorkbench, the Win PE boot image you are launching from is located in the associated Windows Deployment Services images.

  • Update to Easy Slider 1.7 made all my JQuery code stop working.

    - by Anders H
    I'm pretty novice as a JQuery user goes. I've got some experience implementing different plugins but would be lost trying to customize my own. I can't share the exact site details with you due to a NDA, so I hope someone can give me a little help. I've got a project due today (Just HTML/CSS/JQuery). It has a lightbox, show/hide login menu and a slider is Easy Slider 1.5. Everything was working together, until I attempted to update to Easy Slider 1.7 (see link on same page, I'm too new to post more than 1 link). When I did so, JQuery stopped working for all the plugins. I've attempted to revert back to the original state, by undoing my work (didn't do much), ad JQuery remains broken. Firebug Error Console shared no errors. I can't find anything in the code no matter how hard I look at it. Can anyone help me troubleshoot this JQuery problem? Delivery is supposed to be tonight for the project. • Can't access shared drive when connecting over VPN

    - by evolvd
    I can ping all network devices but it doesn't seem that DNS is resolving their hostnames. ipconfig/ all is showing that I am pointing to the correct dns server. I can "ping "dnsname"" and it will resolve but it wont resolve any other names. Split tunnel is set up so outside DNS is resolving fine So one issue might be DNS but I have the IP address of the server share so I figure I could just get to it that way. example: \10.0.0.1\ well I can't get to it that way either and I get "the specified network name is no longer available" I can ping it but I can't open the share. • jQuery: Div elements are not showing up

    I am adapting the Coverflow technique to work with a div. Following is the html: <html> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <style type="text/css" media="screen"> body,html { margin: 0; padding: 0; background: #000; height: 100%; color: #eee; font-family: Arial; font-size: 10px; } div.magnifyme { height: 80px; padding: 80px; position: absolute; top: 0px; left: 0px; width: 8000px; } div.wrapper { margin: 0px; height: 470px; /*border: 2px solid #999;*/ overflow: hidden; padding-left: 40px; right: 1px; width: 824px; position: relative; } div.container {position: relative; width: 854px; height: 480px; background: #000; margin: auto;} div.nav {position: absolute; top: 10px; width: 20%; height: 10%; right: 1px; } div.magnifyme div { position: absolute; width: 300px; height: 280px; float: left; margin: 5px; position: relative; border: 2px solid #999; background: #500; } </style> <script type="text/javascript" src="jquery-1.3.2.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="ui.coverflow.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(function() { $("div.magnifyme").coverflow(); $("#add").click(function() { location.reload(); $(".magnifyme").append("<div id=\"div5\">hello world</div>"); $("div.magnifyme").coverflow(); }); }); </script> </head> <body> <div class="container"> <div class="wrapper"> <div class="magnifyme"> <div id="div0">This is div 0</div> <div id="div1">This is div 1</div> <div id="div2">This is div 2</div> <div id="div3">This is div 3</div> <div id="div4">This is div 4</div> </div> </div> <div class="nav"> <button type="button" id="add">Add to Deck</button> </div> </div> </body> </html> The coverflow function (included as a js file in the head section) is here. When I click the button, I was expecting it to add a DIV to the already present deck. For some reason, it doesn't show the newly added DIV. I tried calling the coverflow() function after I added the new element but that didn't work either. Is there any way I can make this work?

  • Search Form in Responsive Design - Remove Search button on Mobile

    - by Kevin
    I'm working with a search box in the header of a responsive website. On desktop/tablet widths, there's a search input field and a styled 'search' button to the right. You can type in a search term and either click 'SEARCH' button or just hit enter on the keyboard with the same result. When you scale down to mobile widths, the search input field fills the width of the screen. The submit button falls below it. On a desktop, clicking the button or hitting enter activate the search. On an actual iphone phone, you can hit the 'SEARCH' button, but the native mobile keyboard that rises from the bottom of the screen has a search button where the enter/return key would normally be. It seems to know I'm in a form and the keyboard automatically gives me the option to kick off the search by basically hitting the ENTER key location....but it says SEARCH. So far so good. I figure I don't need the button in the header on mobile since it's already in the keyboard. Therefore, I'll hide the button on mobile widths and everything will be tighter and look better. So I added this to my CSS to hide it in mobile: #search-button {display: none;} But now the search doesn't work at all. On mobile, I don't get the option in the keyboard that showed up before and if I just hit enter, it doesn't work at all. On desktop at mobile width, hitting enter also not longer works. So clearly by hiding the submit/search button, the phone no longer gave me the native option to run the search. In addition, on the desktop at mobile width, even hitting enter inside the search input box also fails to launch the the search. Here's my search box: <form id="search-form" method="get" accept-charset="UTF-8, utf-8" action="search.php"> <fieldset> <div id="search-wrapper"> <label id="search-label" for="search">Item:</label> <input id="search" class="placeholder-color" name="item" type="text" placeholder="Item Number or Description" /> <button id="search-button" title="Go" type="submit"><span class="search-icon"></span></button> </div> </fieldset> </form> Here's what my CSS looks like: #search-wrapper { float: left; display: inline-block; position: relative; white-space: nowrap; } #search-button { display: inline-block; cursor: pointer; vertical-align: top; height: 30px; width: 40px; } @media only screen and (max-width: 639px) { #search-wrapper { display: block; margin-bottom: 7px; } #search-button { /* this didn't work....it hid the button but the search failed to load */ display: none;*/ } } So.....how can I hide this submit button when I'm on a mobile screen, but still let the search run from the mobile keyboard or just run by hitting enter when in the search input box. I was sure that putting display:none on the search button at mobile width would do the trick, but apparently not. Thanks...

  • Looping through siblings of a specific row/setting up function

    - by Matt
    Trying to work through my javascript book I am referencing to learn the language and got stuck on looping through siblings of a specific row. W3schools and W3 didnt have what i was looking for. Below is a function walk-through... It reads: Create the countRecords() function. The purpose of this function is to count the number of visible rows in the data table after the table headings. The total is then displayed in the table cell with the id "records". Add the follow commands to the function: a. Create a object named headRow that points to the table row with the id "titleRow". Create a variable named rowCount, setting its initial value to 0. b. Create a for loop that uses familial references starting with the first sibling of headRow and moving to the next sibling until there are no siblings left. Within the for loop. test whether the node name of the currentnext sibling until there are no sibilings left. Within the for loop test whether the node name of the current node is equal to "TR". If it is, test wheter the value of its display style is equal to an empty text string. If it is (indicating that it is visible in the document) increate the value of the rowCount variable by 1. c. Change the text of the "records" table cell to the value of the rowCount variable. Don't use innerHTML. Create a text node that contains the value of the rowCount variable and assign it to a variable called txt. Create a variable called record to store the reference to the element "records" table cell. d. Insert an if condition that test whether the "records" cell has any child nodes. If it does, replace the replace the text node of the "record" table cell with the created text node (txt). If it doesn't append the text node to the cell. var headRow; // part a var rowCount = 0; //part b this is where I get lost. I know I need to access the id titleRow but unsure how to set my loop up specifically for this headRow = document.getElementById("titleRow"); for(var i=0; i<headrow.length; i++) { if (something is not equal == "TH") { make code happen here } if (is "TR" == ""){ rowCount = +1; } //part c var txt = document.createTextNode(rowCount); var record = document.getElementsById("records") //part d holding off on this part until I get a,b,c figured out. The HTML supporting snippet: <table id="filters"> <tr><th colspan="2">Filter Product List</th></tr> <tr> <td>Records: </td> <td id="records"></td> </tr> <table id="prodTable"> <tr><th colspan="8">Digital Cameras</th></tr> <tr id="titleRow"> <th>Model</th> <th>Manufacturer</th> <th>Resolution</th> <th>Zoom</th> <th>Media</th> <th>Video</th> <th>Microphone</th> </tr> Thanks for the help!

  • nginx returning authentication in IE

    - by James MacLeod
    I am having a few issues with an nginx server. I have a site setup that keeps requesting authentication when accessed from IE but in firefox and safari the site is fine no request for authentication. Reading around the web I can see that it could be the gzip that may be causing errors, but the other sites are working without issue. Here is the config: user sysadmin sysadmin; worker_processes 8; error_log logs/error.log debug; events { worker_connections 1024; } http { passenger_root /usr/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/passenger-2.2.9; passenger_ruby /usr/bin/ruby1.8; include mime.types; default_type application/octet-stream; client_header_timeout 3m; client_body_timeout 3m; client_max_body_size 5m; send_timeout 3m; client_header_buffer_size 1k; large_client_header_buffers 4 4k; gzip on; gzip_min_length 1100; gzip_buffers 4 8k; gzip_types text/plain; output_buffers 1 32k; postpone_output 1460; sendfile on; tcp_nopush on; tcp_nodelay on; keepalive_timeout 75 20; server { listen 80; server_name .reg-power.com .reg-power.co.uk .reg-power.eu .reg-power.eu.com .reg-power.net .reg-power.org .reg-power.org.uk .reg-power.uk.com .regegen.eu .regpower.co.uk .regpower.eu .regpower.eu.com .regpower.net .regpower.org .regpower.org.uk .regpower.uk.com .renegen.com .renegen.eu .renewableenergygeneration.co.uk .renewableenergygeneration.com reg.rails1.flowhost.co.uk; root /home/sysadmin/reg/current/public; passenger_enabled on; rails_env production; index index.html; } server { listen 80; server_name media.reg-power.com; root /home/sysadmin/admin/current/public; index index.html; } server { listen 80; server_name admin.reg-power.com admin.rails1.flowhost.co.uk; root /home/sysadmin/admin/current/public; passenger_enabled on; rails_env production; index index.html; } server { listen 80; server_name .livingfuels.co.uk livingfuels.rails1.flowhost.co.uk; root /home/sysadmin/livingfuels/current/public; passenger_enabled on; rails_env production; index index.html; } server { listen 80; server_name .regbiopower.com .regbiopower.co.uk regbiopower.rails1.flowhost.co.uk; root /home/sysadmin/regbiopower/current/public; passenger_enabled on; rails_env production; index index.html; } server { listen 80; server_name .clpwindprojects.co.uk clp.rails1.flowhost.co.uk; access_log /home/sysadmin/clp/logs/access.log; location / { root /home/sysadmin/clp; index index.php; if (-f $request_filename) { expires 30d; break; } if (!-e $request_filename) { rewrite ^(.+)$ /index.php?q=$1 last; } } location ~ .php$ { fastcgi_pass 127.0.0.1:49232; #this must point to the socket spawn_fcgi is running on. fastcgi_index index.php; fastcgi_param SCRIPT_FILENAME /home/sysadmin/clp$fastcgi_script_name; # same path as above fastcgi_param QUERY_STRING $query_string; fastcgi_param REQUEST_METHOD $request_method; fastcgi_param CONTENT_TYPE $content_type; fastcgi_param CONTENT_LENGTH $content_length; fastcgi_param SCRIPT_NAME $fastcgi_script_name; fastcgi_param REQUEST_URI $request_uri; fastcgi_param DOCUMENT_URI $document_uri; fastcgi_param DOCUMENT_ROOT /home/sysadmin/clp; fastcgi_param SERVER_PROTOCOL $server_protocol; fastcgi_param GATEWAY_INTERFACE CGI/1.1; fastcgi_param SERVER_SOFTWARE nginx/$nginx_version; fastcgi_param REMOTE_ADDR $remote_addr; fastcgi_param REMOTE_PORT $remote_port; fastcgi_param SERVER_ADDR $server_addr; fastcgi_param SERVER_PORT $server_port; fastcgi_param SERVER_NAME $server_name; } } } As you can see there is no reference to a http authentication

  • How can a single disk in a hardware SATA RAID-10 array bring the entire array to a screeching halt?

    - by Stu Thompson
    Prelude: I'm a code-monkey that's increasingly taken on SysAdmin duties for my small company. My code is our product, and increasingly we provide the same app as SaaS. About 18 months ago I moved our servers from a premium hosting centric vendor to a barebones rack pusher in a tier IV data center. (Literally across the street.) This ment doing much more ourselves--things like networking, storage and monitoring. As part the big move, to replace our leased direct attached storage from the hosting company, I built a 9TB two-node NAS based on SuperMicro chassises, 3ware RAID cards, Ubuntu 10.04, two dozen SATA disks, DRBD and . It's all lovingly documented in three blog posts: Building up & testing a new 9TB SATA RAID10 NFSv4 NAS: Part I, Part II and Part III. We also setup a Cacit monitoring system. Recently we've been adding more and more data points, like SMART values. I could not have done all this without the awesome boffins at ServerFault. It's been a fun and educational experience. My boss is happy (we saved bucket loads of $$$), our customers are happy (storage costs are down), I'm happy (fun, fun, fun). Until yesterday. Outage & Recovery: Some time after lunch we started getting reports of sluggish performance from our application, an on-demand streaming media CMS. About the same time our Cacti monitoring system sent a blizzard of emails. One of the more telling alerts was a graph of iostat await. Performance became so degraded that Pingdom began sending "server down" notifications. The overall load was moderate, there was not traffic spike. After logging onto the application servers, NFS clients of the NAS, I confirmed that just about everything was experiencing highly intermittent and insanely long IO wait times. And once I hopped onto the primary NAS node itself, the same delays were evident when trying to navigate the problem array's file system. Time to fail over, that went well. Within 20 minuts everything was confirmed to be back up and running perfectly. Post-Mortem: After any and all system failures I perform a post-mortem to determine the cause of the failure. First thing I did was ssh back into the box and start reviewing logs. It was offline, completely. Time for a trip to the data center. Hardware reset, backup an and running. In /var/syslog I found this scary looking entry: Nov 15 06:49:44 umbilo smartd[2827]: Device: /dev/twa0 [3ware_disk_00], 6 Currently unreadable (pending) sectors Nov 15 06:49:44 umbilo smartd[2827]: Device: /dev/twa0 [3ware_disk_07], SMART Prefailure Attribute: 1 Raw_Read_Error_Rate changed from 171 to 170 Nov 15 06:49:45 umbilo smartd[2827]: Device: /dev/twa0 [3ware_disk_10], 16 Currently unreadable (pending) sectors Nov 15 06:49:45 umbilo smartd[2827]: Device: /dev/twa0 [3ware_disk_10], 4 Offline uncorrectable sectors Nov 15 06:49:45 umbilo smartd[2827]: Num Test_Description Status Remaining LifeTime(hours) LBA_of_first_error Nov 15 06:49:45 umbilo smartd[2827]: # 1 Short offline Completed: read failure 90% 6576 3421766910 Nov 15 06:49:45 umbilo smartd[2827]: # 2 Short offline Completed: read failure 90% 6087 3421766910 Nov 15 06:49:45 umbilo smartd[2827]: # 3 Short offline Completed: read failure 10% 5901 656821791 Nov 15 06:49:45 umbilo smartd[2827]: # 4 Short offline Completed: read failure 90% 5818 651637856 Nov 15 06:49:45 umbilo smartd[2827]: So I went to check the Cacti graphs for the disks in the array. Here we see that, yes, disk 7 is slipping away just like syslog says it is. But we also see that disk 8's SMART Read Erros are fluctuating. There are no messages about disk 8 in syslog. More interesting is that the fluctuating values for disk 8 directly correlate to the high IO wait times! My interpretation is that: Disk 8 is experiencing an odd hardware fault that results in intermittent long operation times. Somehow this fault condition on the disk is locking up the entire array Maybe there is a more accurate or correct description, but the net result has been that the one disk is impacting the performance of the whole array. The Question(s) How can a single disk in a hardware SATA RAID-10 array bring the entire array to a screeching halt? Am I being naïve to think that the RAID card should have dealt with this? How can I prevent a single misbehaving disk from impacting the entire array? Am I missing something?

  • [C] Texture management / pointer question

    - by ndg
    I'm working on a texture management and animation solution for a small side project of mine. Although the project uses Allegro for rendering and input, my question mostly revolves around C and memory management. I wanted to post it here to get thoughts and insight into the approach, as I'm terrible when it comes to pointers. Essentially what I'm trying to do is load all of my texture resources into a central manager (textureManager) - which is essentially an array of structs containing ALLEGRO_BITMAP objects. The textures stored within the textureManager are mostly full sprite sheets. From there, I have an anim(ation) struct, which contains animation-specific information (along with a pointer to the corresponding texture within the textureManager). To give you an idea, here's how I setup and play the players 'walk' animation: createAnimation(&player.animations[0], "media/characters/player/walk.png", player.w, player.h); playAnimation(&player.animations[0], 10); Rendering the animations current frame is just a case of blitting a specific region of the sprite sheet stored in textureManager. For reference, here's the code for anim.h and anim.c. I'm sure what I'm doing here is probably a terrible approach for a number of reasons. I'd like to hear about them! Am I opening myself to any pitfalls? Will this work as I'm hoping? anim.h #ifndef ANIM_H #define ANIM_H #define ANIM_MAX_FRAMES 10 #define MAX_TEXTURES 50 struct texture { bool active; ALLEGRO_BITMAP *bmp; }; struct texture textureManager[MAX_TEXTURES]; typedef struct tAnim { ALLEGRO_BITMAP **sprite; int w, h; int curFrame, numFrames, frameCount; float delay; } anim; void setupTextureManager(void); int addTexture(char *filename); int createAnimation(anim *a, char *filename, int w, int h); void playAnimation(anim *a, float delay); void updateAnimation(anim *a); #endif anim.c void setupTextureManager() { int i = 0; for(i = 0; i < MAX_TEXTURES; i++) { textureManager[i].active = false; } } int addTextureToManager(char *filename) { int i = 0; for(i = 0; i < MAX_TEXTURES; i++) { if(!textureManager[i].active) { textureManager[i].bmp = al_load_bitmap(filename); textureManager[i].active = true; if(!textureManager[i].bmp) { printf("Error loading texture: %s", filename); return -1; } return i; } } return -1; } int createAnimation(anim *a, char *filename, int w, int h) { int textureId = addTextureToManager(filename); if(textureId > -1) { a->sprite = textureManager[textureId].bmp; a->w = w; a->h = h; a->numFrames = al_get_bitmap_width(a->sprite) / w; printf("Animation loaded with %i frames, given resource id: %i\n", a->numFrames, textureId); } else { printf("Texture manager full\n"); return 1; } return 0; } void playAnimation(anim *a, float delay) { a->curFrame = 0; a->frameCount = 0; a->delay = delay; } void updateAnimation(anim *a) { a->frameCount ++; if(a->frameCount >= a->delay) { a->frameCount = 0; a->curFrame ++; if(a->curFrame >= a->numFrames) { a->curFrame = 0; } } }

  • when importing multiple javascript files the javascript seems to break

    - by waywardmd
    I am trying to incorperate several different js files into one page. For some reason though whichever ones are first, seem to break. Here is the code I am using: <link href="inc/css/style.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> <link rel="stylesheet" href="inc/css/lightbox.css" type="text/css" media="screen" /> <script type="text/javascript" src="inc/js/prototype.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="inc/js/scriptaculous.js?load=effects"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="inc/js/lightbox.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> <!-- function MM_swapImgRestore() { //v3.0 var i,x,a=document.MM_sr; for(i=0;a&&i<a.length&&(x=a[i])&&x.oSrc;i++) x.src=x.oSrc; } function MM_preloadImages() { //v3.0 var d=document; if(d.images){ if(!d.MM_p) d.MM_p=new Array(); var i,j=d.MM_p.length,a=MM_preloadImages.arguments; for(i=0; i<a.length; i++) if (a[i].indexOf("#")!=0){ d.MM_p[j]=new Image; d.MM_p[j++].src=a[i];}} } function MM_findObj(n, d) { //v4.01 var p,i,x; if(!d) d=document; if((p=n.indexOf("?"))>0&&parent.frames.length) { d=parent.frames[n.substring(p+1)].document; n=n.substring(0,p);} if(!(x=d[n])&&d.all) x=d.all[n]; for (i=0;!x&&i<d.forms.length;i++) x=d.forms[i][n]; for(i=0;!x&&d.layers&&i<d.layers.length;i++) x=MM_findObj(n,d.layers[i].document); if(!x && d.getElementById) x=d.getElementById(n); return x; } function MM_swapImage() { //v3.0 var i,j=0,x,a=MM_swapImage.arguments; document.MM_sr=new Array; for(i=0;i<(a.length-2);i+=3) if ((x=MM_findObj(a[i]))!=null){document.MM_sr[j++]=x; if(!x.oSrc) x.oSrc=x.src; x.src=a[i+2];} } </script> <script type="text/javascript" src="inc/js/jquery-1.3.2.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="inc/js/jquery.slideshow.lite-0.4.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"> $(document).ready(function(){ $("#slideshow2").slideshow({ pauseSeconds: 6, height: 196 }); }); </script> The first files are used for a lightbox and other functions and the second ones are used for a slideshow. Depending on the order one or the other will work, but never both at the same time. What am I doing wrong? Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

  • Nginx & Apache Cannot get try_files to work with permalinks

    - by tcherokee
    I have been working on this for the past two weeks not and for some reason I cannot seem to get nginx's try_files to work with my wordpress permalinks. I am hoping someone will be able to tell me where I am going wrong and also hopefully tell me if I made any major errors with my configurations as well (I am an nginx newbie... but learning :) ). Here are my Configuration files nginx.conf user www-data; worker_processes 4; pid /var/run/nginx.pid; events { worker_connections 768; # multi_accept on; } http { ## # Basic Settings ## sendfile on; tcp_nopush on; tcp_nodelay on; keepalive_timeout 65; types_hash_max_size 2048; # server_tokens off; # server_names_hash_bucket_size 64; # server_name_in_redirect off; include /etc/nginx/mime.types; default_type application/octet-stream; ## # Logging Settings ## # Defines the cache log format, cache log location # and the main access log location. log_format cache '***$time_local ' '$upstream_cache_status ' 'Cache-Control: $upstream_http_cache_control ' 'Expires: $upstream_http_expires ' '$host ' '"$request" ($status) ' '"$http_user_agent" ' ; access_log /var/log/nginx/access.log; error_log /var/log/nginx/error.log; include /etc/nginx/conf.d/*.conf; include /etc/nginx/sites-enabled/*; } mydomain.com.conf server { listen 123.456.78.901:80; # IP goes here. server_name www.mydomain.com mydomain.com; #root /var/www/mydomain.com/prod; index index.php; ## mydomain.com -> www.mydomain.com (301 - Permanent) if ($host !~* ^(www|dev)) { rewrite ^/(.*)$ $scheme://www.$host/$1 permanent; } # Add trailing slash to */wp-admin requests. rewrite /wp-admin$ $scheme://$host$uri/ permanent; # All media (including uploaded) is under wp-content/ so # instead of caching the response from apache, we're just # going to use nginx to serve directly from there. location ~* ^/(wp-content|wp-includes)/(.*)\.(jpg|png|gif|jpeg|css|js|m$ root /var/www/mydomain.com/prod; } # Don't cache these pages. location ~* ^/(wp-admin|wp-login.php) { proxy_pass http://backend; } location / { if ($http_cookie ~* "wordpress_logged_in_[^=]*=([^%]+)%7C") { set $do_not_cache 1; } proxy_cache_key "$scheme://$host$request_uri $do_not_cache"; proxy_cache main; proxy_pass http://backend; proxy_cache_valid 30m; # 200, 301 and 302 will be cached. # Fallback to stale cache on certain errors. # 503 is deliberately missing, if we're down for maintenance # we want the page to display. #try_files $uri $uri/ /index.php?q=$uri$args; #try_files $uri =404; proxy_cache_use_stale error timeout invalid_header http_500 http_502 http_504 http_404; } # Cache purge URL - works in tandem with WP plugin. # location ~ /purge(/.*) { # proxy_cache_purge main "$scheme://$host$1"; # } # No access to .htaccess files. location ~ /\.ht { deny all; } } # End server gzip.conf # Gzip Configuration. gzip on; gzip_disable msie6; gzip_static on; gzip_comp_level 4; gzip_proxied any; gzip_types text/plain text/css application/x-javascript text/xml application/xml application/xml+rss text/javascript; proxy.conf # Set proxy headers for the passthrough proxy_redirect off; proxy_set_header Host $host; proxy_set_header X-Real-IP $remote_addr; proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-For $proxy_add_x_forwarded_for; proxy_max_temp_file_size 0; client_max_body_size 10m; client_body_buffer_size 128k; proxy_connect_timeout 90; proxy_send_timeout 90; proxy_read_timeout 90; proxy_buffer_size 4k; proxy_buffers 4 32k; proxy_busy_buffers_size 64k; proxy_temp_file_write_size 64k; add_header X-Cache-Status $upstream_cache_status; backend.conf upstream backend { # Defines backends. # Extracting here makes it easier to load balance # in the future.
