    It pains me to write this post as I feel like an idiot for having wasted my time on this “problem.”  Hopefully in posting this, I can keep some other poor lost soul working at 4 AM in the morning from spending wasteful minutes scratching his head and getting frustrated.  The Visual Studio designer will work fine in resolving namespaces, but when you build you will get the “Type or namespace ‘xyz’ does not exist error.  If you see this error please take a look at your Errors List window and ensure that you have the “Warnings” option enabled.  It is very likely that you will see that there is a missing dependent reference.  Technorati Tags: Visual Studio

  • IPhone OS 4.0 - Beta 3 - setContentURL on MPMoviePlayerViewController crashing the App

    Hi Everyone. I had this issue, with the beta2 and I thought the beta3 was going to solve it, but I'm starting to think that I'm doing something wrong. I have a MPMoviePlayerViewController playing a video and when the video ends I'm trying to change the video for another like this: [moviePlayerViewController.moviePlayer setContentURL:newVideoURL]; The app crashes when it reaches this point.     Error when we are trying to access search in sharepoint site: "Your search cannot be completed because this site is not assigned to an indexer. Contact your administrator for more information." Solving Problem: 1. Go to SharePoint Central Administration > Application Management > Content Databases (Underneath SharePoint Web Application Management). 2. Select the correct SharePoint web application – click on the name of the Content databases  - this will open the  “Manage Content Database Settings” page. 3. Make sure that the Search Server is set on the “Manage Content Database Settings” page. Hope it helps!!

    Hello everyone. I'm getting errors while testing web pages on localhost. I'm running Windows 7 64-bit.   • Debug Symbols not loading

    I am trying to enable visual studio to step through the .net framework source code when I am debugging. I have tried with both Visual Web-Developer-Express-2010 and Visual-Studio-2011-Express-For-Web and I am getting the same problem with each. When I get to the break point at the .net method I wish to step into I do right-clickstep-into-specificclick-method-to-step-into. Then VS opens a new tab. saying it couldn't find or load the symbols. It gives a list of the assembly symbols it looked for. There is also a 'Load Symbols hyperlink which doesn't work. And another hyperlink that takes me to the debug settings dialog. I have read tutorials on how to set it up and have believe I have the correct settings. In the debugging general settings I have - enable address-level debugging - checked enable source server support - checked enable .net framework source stepping - checked enable just my code - not checked In the debugging symbol settings I have - symbol file (.pdb) locations - Microsoft Symbol Servers - checked Caching Directory - C:\Users\MyAccount\AppData\Local\Temp\SymbolCache Automatically load symbols for: all modules unless excluded - checked Why is it not working? The application pool is shutdown and the Event Viewer indicates: Log Name:      Application Source:        Microsoft-Windows-User Profiles Service Date:          4/24/2010 4:58:28 PM Event ID:      1500 Task Category: None Level:         Error Keywords: User:          GUERILLA\spapppool Computer:      SPS2010RTM.guerilla.local Description: Windows cannot log you on because your profile cannot be loaded. Check that you are connected to the network, and that your network is functioning correctly. DETAIL – Unspecified error Solution: Option 1 – Log on locally with the service account once to create a local profile for it. Option 2 - Modify the application pool by going into IIS > Application Pools > Right-Click offending app pool > Advanced Settings > Set “Load User Profile” to False. Give it try!! Good luck!!

It generates a huge amount of logs in the catalina.out folder, most of these are generated while using the application, but are not generated by the application.   • Eclipse Maven web application - can not run on server anymore

    I have an maven eclipse webapp project that I was able to right click and 'Run on server' and it would deploy on tomcat. I recently did a 'maven - Update project conifgurations' and I now can NOT deploy and run the project as a webapp. Has anyone seen this before? The only output from tomcat is as follows - it doesnt even look like its trying to deploy the application.   • Autofac / MVC4 / WebApi (RC) Dependency Injection issue after upgrading from beta

    var resolver = new AutofacWebApiDependencyResolver(container); configuration.ServiceResolver.SetResolver(resolver); after updating to ASP.NET MVC4 (RC) I get the following error: 'System.Web.Http.HttpConfiguration' does not contain a definition for 'ServiceResolver' and no extension method 'ServiceResolver' accepting a first argument of type 'System.Web.Http.HttpConfiguration' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) I realize after reading this (http://www.asp.net/web-api/overview/extensibility/using-the-web-api-dependency-resolver) that these interfaces have changed, but I am not sure how to apply this change to how I use Autofac. Do i need to wait for a new release from Autofac or is there another way I can get past this.
