• Installing Phusion Passenger 4.0.20 on Ubuntu 13.10

  So I'm trying to install Passenger on the newest version of KUbuntu (13.10). I installed Apache2 using the apache2-mpm-worker package using the Muon Package Manager.   Hi All, I have question on the Android API. Android API provides a class called "Instrumentation" class. What is the use of this class? Is the Instrumentation class be used only together with Junit for unit testing. Can Junit framework can be used to test the methods of the Android API without using the Instrumentation class. Since Junit package has been included in the Android package, I hope we dont need to use install separately for unit testing. I would appreciate if you could provide me the information as i can't find these clear information anywhere on the Web. When I put the annotation on the method in MyServiceImpl, everything works just fine, the pointcut is matched and the aspect kicks in. However, I believe the annotation is part of the service contract and should be published with the interface in a separate API package. And obviously, I would not like to put the annotation on both service definition and implementation (DRY). I know there are cases in Spring AOP where aspects are triggered by annotations one interface methods (e.g. Transactional). Is there a special syntax here or is it just plain impossible out of the box. PS: I have not posted my spring config, as it seems to be working just fine. • Cannot change the target CPU to x86 Or x64 in Visual Studio 2005

  I am trying to build a website application and specify the target CPU as x86 instead of Any CPU. The only choices I have in Configuration Manager under the "Active solution platform:" drop-down list are: "Any CPU", "Edit..", and "New...". In the "Project Contexts" portion of the "Configuration Manager" window, it lists 3 columns: "Project", "Configuration" and "Platform". Under the "Platform" column, my only choice is ".Net". when the "Active solution configuration" is set to, "Debug". When the, ""Active solution configuration" is set to "Release", then I can choose either, ".Net" or "Any CPU" under the "Platform" column. I am using Visual Studio 2005 Professional Edition. This website was previously built using Visual Studio .NET and was recently upgraded using the Visual Studio 2005 Professional Edition Upgrade Wizard. I need to target x86 specifically because the are components used in the project that are only x86 compatible.

  Hi, I'm surprised this question hasn't come up. Couldn't find much on the web. Using Entry.objects.latest('created_at') I can recover the latest entry for all Entry objects, but say if I want the latest entry for each user? This is something similar to an SQL latest record query. But how do I achieve this using the ORM? Here is my approach I'm wondering if it is the most efficient way to do what I want. First I perform a sub query: Objects are grouped by user and the Max (latest) created_by field is returned for each user (created_at__max) I then filter Entry objects based on the results in the subquery and get the required objects. Entry.objects.filter(created_at__in=Entry.objects.values('user').annotate(Max('created_at')).values_list('created_at__max')) or using a manager: class UsersLatest(models.Manager): def get_query_set(self): return Super(UsersLatest,self).get_query_set().filter(created_at__in=self.model.objects.values('user').annotate(Max('created_at')).values_list('created_at__max')) Is there a more efficient way? possibly without sub query?   There are a lot of similar questions, but, probably, mine is a little bit different: What is the right way to load resource from inside of .jar file located in WEB-INF/lib folder (if I know the jar file name and the name of the class it resource belongs to), while Web Application is running? Should I use getServletContext().getResourceAsStream(?) for this purpose or the <name-of-known-class>.getResourseAsStream(?), and what path do I need to specify there? So, the structure is: /WEB-INF /classes /some/package/name ?.class #some Java code or Servlet that tries to read 'required-file.xml' /lib /<jar-with-known-name>.jar /another/package/with/known/name SomeKnownClass.class required-file.xml

• How to set up Flex Unit 4

  Does anyone know of any guides or any sort of documentation on how to set up the new Flex Builder 4 beta? I've been pulling my hair all day long, none of my tests are executed and I can't for the life of me understand what's wrong. There are no errors at all. It's as if the metadata tags are not recognized, is there some special compiler argument to recognize them? I seem to remember that this is not necessary as long as the swc files that are included were compiled with said arguments. I'm using Beta 1 of Flex Unit 4 which can be found here: http://opensource.adobe.com/wiki/display/flexunit/FlexUnit+4+feature+overview I'm actually using the very same code that is included with that package to run the tests, but no tests are executed. Neither mine nor the ones included in the FU4 package. The lack of documentation certainly doesn't help much...

• Setup Project is not correctly registering assembly in GAC

  I have created a custom Rewrite Provider for IIS 7 following instructions in this article: Developing a Custom Rewrite Provider for URL Rewrite Module To simplify deployment, I have created a VS2010 Setup Project and configured it to deploy my assembly to GAC. When I run the installer, it completes successfully, and appears to be registered the assembly in GAC (I have verified using gacutil.exe /l). However, when I go to IIS Manager to register the new rewrite provider it is not displayed in the list of available providers. I have also tried to install the assembly manually using gacutil.exe /if. This does work and makes assembly visible in the list of available providers in IIS Manager. Am I missing some sort of configuration in my Setup Project?

• XAMPP or MAMP on Mac OS X 10.6.2 (Snow Leopard)

  I just bought a new MacBook Pro which comes with Snow Leopard 10.6.2 (Mac OS X 10.6.2). I am used to using XAMPP as my local development server on XP. Since Mac OS X is based on Unix, I was thinking on activating/installing all the necessary stuff as I would normally do on Linux. However, I am not quite ready to be playing around with the system at this point so having an external package would be a nice temporary solution I think. The question is whether I should go with MAMP or XAMPP. Does anybody have any suggestions? The Pro and Cons I suppose. As far as I know, Mac OS X comes with Apache2 and PHP5. Would MAMP or XAMPP modify the existing Apache and PHP installation? Any comments on how I should proceed? PS: Eventually I would use the default installation of Apache and PHP, and install a binary package of MySQL but time for development is an essence and I don't have time to familiarize myself with Mac OS X.

I have written a simple unit test that uses HtmlUnit and my own package. For my own package, I use java.util.Logger. HtmlUnit seems to use commons logging: http://htmlunit.sourceforge.net/logging.html I would like to see console output of my logging messages from java.util.Logger However, it seems that even messages at the info level are not displayed in my Unit Test Results GUI (System.err link), although the HtmlUnit messages are all displayed.   Need help. I am trying to automate error notifications to be sent in mailers. For that I am querying the sysssislog table. I have pasted an "Execute SQl task" on the package event handler "On error". For testing purpose, I am deliberately trying to load duplicate keys in a table which consists of a Primary key column(so as to get an error). But instead of having just one error, "Violation of primary key constraint", SSIS records 3 in the table. PFA the screenshot as well. • Entering and retrieving data from SQLite for an android List View

  Hi all, I started learning android development a few weeks ago and have gone through the developer.android.com tutorials etc. But now I have a problem. I'm trying to create an app which tracks the usage of each installed app. Therefore I'm pulling the names of all installed apps using the PackageManager and then trying to put them into an SQLite database table. I am using the Notepad Tutorial SQLite implementation but I'm running into some problems that I have tried for days to solve. I have 2 classes, the DBHelper class and the actual ListActivity class. For some reason the app force closes when I try and run my fillDatabase() function which gets all the app names from the PackageManager and tries to put them into the database: private void fillDatabase() { PackageManager manager = this.getPackageManager(); List<ApplicationInfo> appList = manager.getInstalledApplications(0); for(int i = 0; i < appList.size(); i++) { mDbHelper.addApp(manager.getApplicationLabel(appList.get(i)).toString(), 0); } } addApp() is a function defined in my AppsDbHelper class and looks as follows: public long createApp(String name, int usage) { ContentValues initialValues = new ContentValues(); initialValues.put(KEY_NAME, name); initialValues.put(KEY_USAGE, usage); return mDb.insert(DATABASE_TABLE, null, initialValues); } The database create is defined as follows: private static final String DATABASE_CREATE = "create table notes (_id integer primary key autoincrement, " + "title text not null, usage integer not null);"; I have commented out all statements that follow fillDatabase(); in the onCreate() method of the ListActivity and so know that it is definetely the problem but I don't know why. I am taking the appName and putting it into the KEY_NAME field of the row and putting 0 into the KEY_USAGE field of the row (because initially, my app will default the usage of each app to 0 (not used yet)). If my addApp() function doesn't take the usage and just puts KEY_NAME into the ContentValues and into the database, it seems to work fine, but I want a column for usage. • System.Diaganostics.Process.Id Isn't the Same Process Id Shown in Task Manger. Why?

  I'm using c#'s System.Diagnostic.Process object. One of its properties is Id. The Id this produces is not the same as the PID, shown in Windows Task Manager. Why is this? You see, once this process is started. It launches two other unmanaged processes, for which I can't explicitly get IDs for by object property references. I have to search through all processes to find them by process name via System.Diagnostics.Process.GetProcesses(). I'm trying to find a reliable way to kill this process and all associated processes by PID, the one that shows in Task Manager. Is there a better way? I can't just kill all processes with the associated process names, because that might kill other instances of those processes that have nothing to do with my program.

Currently i can`t inject my beans from web application (simple servlet) I am using glassfish v3. module limbo(ejb jar) is in dependency of module lust (war). If I use lust with compiler output of limbo everything work perfect (if ejb in web application and the are deploying together as one application). Have I messed some container configuration ? • ASP.NET Deployment under IIS7/VS2010 as Web Application

  I transformed my VS2008 ASP.NET Website to a "Web Application" today using VS2010. So now it's possible to build a Deployment Package. A Zip Package which can be direclty imported into IIS7. Usually I added a website in IIS7 called mydomain.com and put everything in its root dir. That worked. However, since I converted to an Web Application, this Application is added beneath my "Website container". Now I'm confused, this is how it actually looks now when I try to open the website: Browsing to mydomain.com says 404 ERROR. Browsing to mydomain.com/mydomain.com opens the actual website, but in a subfolder instead of the root directory. (The Application is named after the Domain) How to make this application the root of the website now? I want the application to run under the mydomain.com ROOT and not some subfolder. Thanks a lot!

• How to make python_select work for '$>python' command?

  I installed a couple of pythons in different versions with macports, and the apple python 2.6 is also working. Now I need to run a program which requires MySQLdb package support in python, and this package was installed to the python I installed by macports. The program tells me that there is no MySQLdb installed, so I guess it is the apple python working for that program. I searched for some help and found python_select for switching between pythons. However after the command $>sudo python_select python25 told me that it selected the version "python25" for python, when I type $>python it is still apple python 2.6 that launches. The question is that how can I make python25(the one with MySQLdb) work for the program rather than apple python? Another important thing, the program is NOT a .py file and needs to be compiled before running. So do I need to re-install this program? My Mac OS version is Snow Leopard 10.6. Any answer is appreciated.

I know that it Delegates all other attributes from Person class. but I do not understand the way it works. for example why from Person class? as I do not explicitly tell it to. person(module is different than Person(class) Any help is highly appreciated :)

• MinGW - cross compile tool - latest version?

  At the MinGW download page you can download the "Cross-Hosted MinGW Build Tool" which is a shell script to build the "MinGW cross-compiler" so that you will be able to compile your programs on "Linux" to the "Windows" target. I have downloaded that script, run it and answered the interactive questions the script has asked me. I had to dowload some files from which one has name "gcc-core". And the "latest" version of the "gcc-core source code" I have found on that page, was "gcc-core-3.4.5-20060117-2-src.tar.gz" - so that "3.4.5" version. But on "Ubuntu Linux" I can download the precompiled "mingw32" package which is of the version "4.2.1". How is it possible that the "Ubuntu package" version of MinGW is newer than the one from the MinGW "homepage"? So which is the latest version of the "MinGW cross compile tool"?
