• Work with 64-bit VM in Windows 7

  I attended a Microsoft Office and SharePoint 2010 HOL 1 day workshop last week and wanted to setup a VM to try the new features in my own laptop. The presenter in the workshop implicitly mentioned a tool called VirtualBox (because it's not a MS product?) but I have no clue what it is at that moment. Until today, I saw a very useful blog and thanks to Guy and Rolly.   I am very new to ubuntu but decided to wipe my windows 7 and install it. I can not download anything from the software center. This is the error message I get. I can use the web in all other ways including this site. What can I do?   Can't access from my Same comp to same comp to test if all is ok. Tried all mentioned posibilities. Tryd my ip xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx / localhost with / without :5900 added with / without in "Remote desktop" checked "Configure network automatically to accept connection" with / without in router WRT54G enabled port 5900 forwardet to my comp 192.168.1.3 UPNP is enabled. I can connect to one other comp whitch isn't using router and checked "Configure network automatically to accept connection" and to one through TENDA W311R+ router where i've put port forwarding to 5900 and there works xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:5900 What's wrong? What have i missed?

• How to give parallax backgrounds more depth

  I have 3 tiled images of some sort of galaxy/space in the background of a 2D Game: The first one has an alpha of 100%, the second an alpha of 80% and the last one has an alpha of 60%. I scroll the the one in the background slower than the other ones of course. classic parallax. In the foreground I have some particles flying towards the player to simulate some dust / stars flying by. (I know that stars don't fly by, but I think we all have seen this in a lot of games). But I can't quite achieve the depth effect I am looking for. I want it to look "deeper". I did read something about using blending modes for the backgrounds, but that would require to render them as objects right? So the question is: What is a good technique to do a scrolling parallax background in GameMaker?

  We have a few websites that we are running on one instance of IIS that need to be mapped for each of their domain names. For example. Site A has the domain name coolness.com Site B has the domain name 6to8Weeks.com Site C has the domain name PhatTech.com When I look at the "Web Site Identification" section of the IIS configuration window, I notice that I can specify an IP address and port, but if I click the Advanced button, I can also configure the site based on host header values as well. How do I configure each site in IIS? Ideally I would like them to all be able to listen to port 80, so I don't have weird URLs, but I'm not sure if I do this using headers, IP addresses, both, or something else.

  I am on linux(ubuntu 12.04) and have purchased a hosting space. In the cpanel, I selected nautilus for accessing web-disk and I was given a note: Note: In order for the Web Disk to work, you will need to allow port 2078 (SSL) or 2077 (non-SSL) on your computer's firewall. As, I am unable to connect to this, i.e. on entering the given url in Nautilus address bar, it says 'Connection closed'. So, I believe the above this quoted is not correctly configured. Please let me know, how to configure this? How to allow the given port access?

How do I handle this? How does sites like SO handle this? I am developing this in YII framework and was thinking of having these different features as modules but in this case the menu/code links in html code can become difficult.
