Connecting 2 PCs using USB-to-USB (male-male) cable

I found this while Googling around: http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/Connecting-Two-PCs-Using-a-USB-USB-Cable/248 But then, the solution given in the article is using Windows. Is there any Ubuntu equivalent to this? I would really love to SSH into my Ubuntu server via my Ubuntu laptop, just by connecting one end of the male USB to my laptop, and another end of the male USB to my server. I know I can always SSH into my server via the network, but then in this case of mine, there are cases the server is inside a secluded-secured network server room, and the only way for me to check things out is to go into the server room and open the keyboard console and monitor there. But, if I can just bring my laptop inside and connect to the USB there, then that would be cool. Any idea guys?

Using bone joints

I am trying to save bone joints to a file, and am using this format. I was wondering if anyone could clear up a few questions I have why do I need to provide rotation data for the bone, if I already gave it the location? How do I calculate the rotation of each axis if I have the relative location from the parent joint? ** EDIT ** After doing some more digging, I think that it has something to do with quaternions, so, could someone point me to a good resource on using quaternions for bone joints? ** EDIT AGAIN ** I think I've solved it, but I don't understand how it works. I can't seem to find any google results explaining it. I'd appreciate if anyone could send resources explaining it to me.

Possible Duplicate: Where can I get my website critiqued I am developing my personal website and I'd like to have feedbacks about its design. Is there any site/forum you would recommend me? I know that the best solution would be to hire a professional web designer and have him design my website, but I am also interested in understanding how to improve my design skills. Of course any recommended book, website, resource is more than welcome. Ubuntu will not install on my Dell Inspiron 580

I'm trying to install ubuntu on my Inspiron 580 (Intel Core i3 4Gb Ram Intel HD Graphics) but am having no success installing from CD or Windows installer all result in a purple rapidly flashing screen with the Ubuntu with 5 dots below it splash which doesn't change. I have tried releases 12.04.1 LTS (CD and windows installer), 11.10 (CD after reading it was certified for the 580) and today 12.10 (CD) all produce the same install failure. My Dell 1704PT monitor is connected to the intel HD board using an HDMI to DVI adaptor though I have tried a VGA cable and still got the same flashing screen. Any help gratefully received as i want to get away from Windows 7 Home Premium.

Nitrogen [Apply] seems to be sent to background. Dual monitors, two wallpapers.

I'm trying to get two separate wallpapers for my two monitor set up. I've installed nitrogen which I heard is able to do this. However when I press apply in the nitrogen GUI nothing happens on my screens and the old wallpaper is left up. When I log out I can briefly see the wallpaper set up I designed with nitrogen but then it goes back to the old wallpaper. I feel like something is overriding the nitrogen settings. Any help with how to change this will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I'm attempting to dynamically load some (purchased) assemblies from resource streams in a C# program during an MSI installation routine, but I'm getting "Unverifiable code failed policy check". I read some tips online about compiling the embedded assembly with /clr:safe, but I don't have that option. Is there a way to work around this policy check? Thanks.

Hi all, i'm running an Apache Tomcat 6.0.20 / MySQL 5.1.37-lubuntu / sun-java6-jdk /sun-java6-jre / sun-java6-bin on my local machine using Ubuntu 9.10 as OS. The Overview I am working on a Continuous Integration build of a MFC appliction via CruiseControl.net and VS2010. When building my .sln, a "Visual Studio" CCNet task (<devenv/>) works, but a simple MSBuild wrapper script (see below) run via the CCNet <msbuild/> task fails with errors like: error RC1015: cannot open include file 'winres.h'.. error C1083: Cannot open include file: 'afxwin.h': No such file or directory error C1083: Cannot open include file: 'afx.h': No such file or directory The Question How can I adjust the build environment of my msbuild wrapper so that the application builds correctly? (Pretty clearly the MFC paths aren't right for the msbuild environment, but how do i fix it for MSBuild+VS2010+MFC+CCNet?) Background Details We have successfully upgraded an MFC application (.exe with some MFC extension .dlls) to Visual Studio 2010 and can compile the application without issue on developer machines. Now I am working on compiling the application on the CI server environment I did a full installation of VS2010 (Professional) on the build server. In this way, I knew everything I needed would be on the machine (one way or another) and that this would be consistent with developer machines. VS2010 is correctly installed on the CI server, and the devenv task works as expected I now have a wrapper MSBuild script that does some extended version processing and then builds the .sln for the application via an MSBuild task. This wrapper script is run via CCNet's MSBuild task and fails with the above mentioned errors The Simple MSBuild Wrapper <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <Project ToolsVersion="4.0" DefaultTargets="Build" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/developer/msbuild/2003"> <Target Name="Build">  <MSBuild Projects="target.sln" Properties="Configuration=ReleaseUnicode;Platform=Any CPU;..." /> </Target> </Project> My Assumptions This seems to be a missing/wrong configuration of include paths to standard header resources of the MFC persuasion I should be able to coerce the MSBuild environment to consider the relevant resource files from my VS2010 install and have this approach work. Given the vs2010 msbuild support for visual c++ projects (.vcxproj), shouldn't msbuilding a solution be pretty close to compiling via visual studio? But how do I do that? Am I setting Environment variables? Registry settings? I can see how one can inject additional directories in some cases, but this seems to need a more systemic configuration at the compiler defaults level. Update 1 This appears to only ever happen in two cases: resource compilation (rc.exe), and precompiled header (stdafx.h) compilation, and only for certain projects? I was thinking it was across the board, but indeed it appears only to be in these cases. I guess I will keep digging and hope someone has some insight they would be willing to share...

JBoss 6 deployment of message-driven bean error

Hello, I have an java EE application which has one message-driven bean and it runs fine on JBoss 4, however when I configure the project for JBoss 6 and deploy on it, I get this error; WARN [org.jboss.ejb.deployers.EjbDeployer.verifier] EJB spec violation: ... The message driven bean must declare one onMessage() method. ... org.jboss.deployers.spi.DeploymentException: Verification of Enterprise Beans failed, see above for error messages. But my bean HAS the onMessage method! It would not have worked on jboss 4 either then. Why do I get this error!? How to enable HTTPS monitoring in FiddlerCore WITHOUT decrypting SSL

Keep IIS 7 URL Rewrite module from matching /ScriptResource.axd

I have a website and I have installed URL Rewrite using Web Platform Installer. I wish to allow a user friendly URL like www.foo.com/123456 to go to www.foo.com/page.aspx?blah=123456. Using the User-friendly URL template accomplishes this except that the created rule also matches all of the /scriptresource.axd?blahblah created by ASP.NET which of course breaks most functionality. My initial attempts to exclude the script resource files have failed. The regex generated by the tool is ^([^/]+)/?$

MinGW/G++/g95 link problem - libf95 undefined reference to `MAIN_'

Hi folks, Summing up, my problem consists on compiling g95 objects inside a C++ application. Actually, I'm constructing an interface for an old fortran program. For this task, I'm using the wxWidgets GUI library, and calling fortran subroutines when necessary. At the beginning, I was developing the entire project compiling my fortran files with gfortran (which comes with GCC) and linking them with my app by the g++ -o... command. Everything was working fine but some numbers values calculated by my fotran subroutines returned NAN values. Doing some research, I realized that compiling my fortran files with gfortran with the -m32 flag, generates this NAN values problem. Although compiling with -m64 flag, my code works properly well. The only trouble here is that my App should be 32bits and then I tryed another compiller. Here I found g95 Fortran compiler, which compiles my fortran code and gives the right output on a 32bits environment. Finishing, I don't have a main method implemented because this is managed by wxWidgets, and my fortran subroutines can not have a main function because this is a C++ program calling fortran functions.
