    I actually want to achieve the following description This is the table argument I want to pass to the server <items> <item category="cats">1</item> <item category="dogs">2</item> </items> SELECT * FROM Item WHERE Item.Category = <one of the items in the XML list> AND Item.ReferenceId = <the corresponding value of that item xml element> --Or in other words: SELECT FROM Items WHERE Item IN XML according to the splecified columns. Am I clear enought? I don't mind to do it in a different way other than xml. What I need is selecting values that mach an array of two of its columns' values.

  • UISearchDisplayController automatically creates a UIPopovercontroller to display content search result ?! How to dismiss it ?

    Hi, I'm using a UISearchDisplayController with a UISearchBar. I put this UISearchBar in my app using IB and I get : Fine : when you start taping, the result popovercontroller appears magically (I didn't write anything on my own to make it appear !) Then, when a row is clicked among the result, I want to dismiss the PopoverController BUT at this stage, I never instantiated the UIPopoverController on my side : it looks like if there's an encapsulated behavior in the UISearchDisplayController that automatically wraps its searchContentsController inside a UIPopoverController. That's really great because everything works perfectly without doing anything except that I cannot get the reference to this UIPopoverController to dismiss it :( Does anyone know how to get the reference to this "magically" created UIPopoverController ? (this is the proof the iPad is really a "magical" device ;) I thought there would be a reference to the UIPopoverController from its contentController (through its parent property for instance), but I cannot find any way to get a pointer to it :/

    I am new to both Ruby and ActiveRecord. I currently have a need to modify and existing piece of code to add a date range in the select. The current piece goes like this: ReportsThirdparty.find(:all, :conditions => {:site_id=>site_id, :campaign_id=>campaign_id, :size_id=>size_id}) Now, I need to add a range, but I am not sure how to do the BETWEEN or >= or <= operators. I guess what I need is something similar to: ReportsThirdparty.find(:all, :conditions => {:site_id=>site_id, :campaign_id=>campaign_id, :size_id=>size_id, :row_date=>"BETWEEN #{start_date} AND #{end_date}") Even if this did work, I know that using interpolation here would leave me subject to SQL injection attacks.

    I have a route with several optional parameters. These are possible search terms in different fields. So, for example, if I have fields key, itemtype and text then I have in global.asax: routes.MapRoute( _ "Search", _ "Admin.aspx/Search/{Key}/{ItemType}/{Text}", _ New With {.controller = "Admin", .action = "Search" .Key = Nothing, .ItemType = Nothing, .Text = Nothing} _ ) My action takes optional parameters: Function Search(Optional ByVal Key As String = Nothing, _ Optional ByVal ItemType As Integer = 0, _ Optional ByVal Text As String = Nothing, _ Optional ByVal OtherText As String = Nothing) It then checks if the Key and Text strings have a non-null (and non-empty) value and adds search terms to the db request as needed. However, is it possible to send in a null value for, for example, Key but still send in a value for Text? If so, what does the URL look like? (Admin.aspx/Search//0/Foo doesn't work :) ) I know I can handle this using a parameter array instead, but wondered if this was possible using the sort of route described? I could of course define some other value as equivalent to null (for example, a space/%20) but is there any way to send a null value in the URL? I'm suspecting not, but thought I'd see if anyone knew of one. I'm using ASP MVC 2 for this project.

What's the fastest way to find out if a given localNode is a producer for another localnode in the data structure (and not within the same list)? For example, I would like to know that nA (node-17) produces for nC (exists on node-16). But I don't need to know that nB produces for nC, since they exist in the same localNodes list.

    As you'll no-doubt be able to tell momentarily, I have little knowledge of the programming world. That being said, here goes.... In this scenario, there's a Java-based game that has a map of the game world oriented in an X, Y coordinate tile system. Some of the grid tiles are player cities, some are non-player locations. The game runs inside a frame in the browser, the X, Y coordinate map feature is one optional view, and the entire map is not available to view at any one time. Each grid tile has an "Onclick" event and an "Onmouseover" event. The mouseover event is a tooltip, the click event is something called a "modal" that has information specific to that tile. What I'd like to find out is: How can I poll all the grid tiles' "modal" information using some kind of script or other auto-running polling feature?

    There's a common LDAP attribute called userCertificate;binary. It actually has a semi-colon in the attribute name. In ruby, I turn an LDAP entry into a OpenStruct object called 'struct'. struct.class = OpenStruct But of course ruby thinks it's an end-of-line character. ? struct.userCertificate;binary NameError: undefined local variable or method `binary' for main:Object from (irb):52 from :0 IRB knows that the local variable is there, because it gives me struct.userCertificate;binary from the tab auto-completion. I can also see the class variable when calling struct.methods on it. struct.methods = ... "send", "methods", "userCertificate;binary=", "hash", ... It's definitely there, I can see the contents if I print the whole variable to_s(). But how can I access the local variable when it has a semicolon in it? I have workarounds for this but I thought it was an interesting problem to post.

  • PHP, MySQL: Security concern; Page loads in a weird way

    Hi all, I am testing the security of my website. I am using the following URL to load a PHP page in my website, on localhost: http://localhost/domain/user/index.php/apple.php When I do this, the page is not loading normally; Instead the images, icons used in the page simply vanish/disappear from the page. Only text appears. And also on any link I click on this page, it brings me to this same page again without navigating to the required page. So if I have hyperlinks to other pages, such as "SEARCH", which points to search.php, instead of navigating to the search.php page, it refreshes the index.php page and just appends the page name of the destination page to the end of the URL. For example, say I used the link above. It then loads the index.php page minus the images at it's will. When I click on the "Search" link to navigate to the search page, I see the following in the URL: http://localhost/domain/user/index.php/search.php I have a redirection configured to a 404 error page in my .htaccess file, but the page does not redirect to the 404 error page. Notice the search.php towards the end of the URL above. Any other link that I click, reloads the index.php page and just appends the destination page name to the end of the URL like I have shown above. I was expecting to see a 404 Error but that does not happen. The URL should not even be able to load the page because I do NOT have a "index.php" folder in my website. What can I do to solve this?     This may be a dumb question, but I was just watching a screencast on MySQL replication, and I learned that a master database doesn't send SQL over to a slave for replication, it actually sends data over in binary, which makes importing extremely fast. I started wondering, "if a database can export and import binary, why do mysqldumps / imports take so long?" Is there a way to get mysql to dump a database in binary in a similar fashion to speed up that process as well?

    The title is a bit awkward but I couldn't found a better one. My problem is as follows: I have several users stored as documents and I am storing several key-value-pairs or items (which have an id) for each document. Now, if I apply highlighting I can get the first n items. If you have several hundreds of such items this highlighting is necessary and works nicely. But there are two problems: The highlighted text won't contain the id and so retrieving additional information of the highlighted item text is ugly. E.g. you need to store the id in the text so that the highlighter returns it. Adding the id to the hl.fl parameter does not help. You will not get the most relevant n-items. You will get the first n items ... So how can I find the best items of a documents with multiple such items? I will now add my own findings as answers, but as I will point out. Each of them has its drawbacks. Hopefully anyone of you can point me to a better solution.

I successfully got it to run multiple last names by the author, but now, I need to find all books by author, which means searching the collection for all books that match the specified author and I also need to find all books by publisher, which displays a list of books by the specified publisher. How would I implement this? Would I use string or vector? Any help will be much appreciated!
