  • How to implement fluent interface with a base class, in C++

    - by Vincenzo
    How can I implement this fluent interface in C++: class Base { public: Base& add(int x) { return *this; } } class Derived : public Base { public: Derived& minus(int x) { return *this; } } Derived d; d.add(1).minus(2).add(3).minus(4); Current code doesn't work since Base class doesn't know anything about Derived class, etc. I would be very thankful for a hint/suggestion.

  • How to create a class by reading from another class (.cs) file with Powershell?

    - by Razcer
    I have this POGO ( simple putter getter) class that I am trying to read in PowerShell using System; using System.Runtime.Serialization; namespace MyApp.VM { [Serializable] public class MyClassVM { public Int64 CtrId { get; set; } public string CtrName { get; set; } public string CtrPhone { get; set; } public string CtrZip { get; set; } public DateTime AddDate { get; set; } } } Here is the ps1 code that is trying to read the class from a file. function Build-Pogo { $FileDir = "D:\YourDirectoryOfPogo" $ClassName = "MyClassVM" $FileName = $FileDir + "\" + $ClassName + ".cs" # Build the class from the file $AllLines = [string]::join([environment]::newline, (Get-Content $FileName)) Add-Type -TypeDefinition $AllLines # spin thru each property for class $ClassHandle = New-Object -typeName $ClassName $ClassHandle | ForEach-Object {Write-Host $_.name -foregroundcolor cyan} } *Note the last line is placeholder for more complex logic to come later. This breaks at the Add-Type with this error message for each get/set in the file. 'MyApp.VM.MyClassVM.CtrId.get' must declare a body because it is not marked abstract or extern Any info on what I'm doing wrong will be greatly appreciated.

  • How to specify 2 different positions for Colorbox or Fancybox on the same page?

    - by Eric
    I know this question has been asked before, but I'm having difficulty implementing it. I'm looking for a more specific answer. Here is my html code: <head> <meta charset=utf-8 /> <title>ColorBox Examples</title> <style type="text/css"> body{font:12px/1.2 Verdana, Arial, san-serrif; padding:0 10px;} a:link, a:visited{text-decoration:none; color:#416CE5; border-bottom:1px solid #416CE5;} h2{font-size:13px; margin:15px 0 0 0;} </style> <link media="screen" rel="stylesheet" href="colorbox.css" /> <script src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4.4/jquery.min.js"></script> <script src="../colorbox/jquery.colorbox.js"></script> <script> $(document).ready(function(){ //Examples of how to assign the ColorBox event to elements $(".example7").colorbox({width:"80%", height:"80%", iframe:true}); $(".example7").colorbox({width:"80%", height:"80%", iframe:true}); }); </script> </head> <body> <p><a class='example7' href="http://google.com">Outside Webpage 1 (Iframe)</a></p> <p><a class='example7' href="http://google.com">Outside Webpage 2 (Iframe)</a></p> (Excuse the wrong indentation - I had to mess with the formatting to get the body content to show up.) Here is my CSS code(default colorbox code): #colorbox, #cboxOverlay, #cboxWrapper{position:absolute; top:0; left:0; z-index:9999; overflow:hidden;} #cboxOverlay{position:fixed; width:100%; height:100%;} #cboxMiddleLeft, #cboxBottomLeft{clear:left;} #cboxContent{position:relative; overflow:visible;} #cboxLoadedContent{overflow:auto;} #cboxLoadedContent iframe{display:block; width:100%; height:100%; border:0;} #cboxTitle{margin:0;} #cboxLoadingOverlay, #cboxLoadingGraphic{position:absolute; top:0; left:0; width:100%;} #cboxPrevious, #cboxNext, #cboxClose, #cboxSlideshow{cursor:pointer;} #cboxOverlay{background:#fff;} #colorbox{} #cboxContent{margin-top:32px;} #cboxLoadedContent{background:#000; padding:1px;} #cboxLoadingGraphic{background:url(images/loading.gif) no-repeat center center;} #cboxLoadingOverlay{background:#000;} #cboxTitle{position:absolute; top:-22px; left:0; color:#000;} #cboxCurrent{position:absolute; top:-22px; right:205px; text-indent:-9999px;} #cboxSlideshow, #cboxPrevious, #cboxNext, #cboxClose{text-indent:-9999px; width:20px; height:20px; position:absolute; top:-20px; background:url(images/controls.png) no-repeat 0 0;} #cboxPrevious{background-position:0px 0px; right:44px;} #cboxPrevious.hover{background-position:0px -25px;} #cboxNext{background-position:-25px 0px; right:22px;} #cboxNext.hover{background-position:-25px -25px;} #cboxClose{background-position:-50px 0px; right:0;} #cboxClose.hover{background-position:-50px -25px;} .cboxSlideshow_on #cboxPrevious, .cboxSlideshow_off #cboxPrevious{right:66px;} .cboxSlideshow_on #cboxSlideshow{background-position:-75px -25px; right:44px;} .cboxSlideshow_on #cboxSlideshow.hover{background-position:-100px -25px;} .cboxSlideshow_off #cboxSlideshow{background-position:-100px 0px; right:44px;} .cboxSlideshow_off #cboxSlideshow.hover{background-position:-75px -25px;} Can someone please tell me how this can be achieved? Forgive my lack of css knowledge :) Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a ton.

  • Injecting single-use object into class

    - by moteutsch
    I have the following code: <?php class X { public function do($url) { $httpRequest = new \HttpRequest\Curl($url, $this->getOptions()); $httpRequest->fire(); // etc. } // ... } In order to be able to unit test this class, I'd like to inject a mocked HttpRequest class. One way to do this would be as follows: <?php class X { private $httpRequestClass; public function __construct($httpRequestClass = '\HttpRequest\Curl') { $this->httpRequestClass = $httpRequestClass; } public function do($url) { $httpRequest = new $this->httpRequestClass($url, $this->getOptions()); $httpRequest->fire(); // etc. } // ... } But this doesn't seem right. Any other ideas?

  • centering image vertically in all resolutions

    - by gnomixa
    I need to be able to center the image vertically for all the common resolutions. A lot of ppl here on SO have already asked this question before, and 90% of then give this tutorial http://www.jakpsatweb.cz/css/css-vertical-center-solution.html as an answer. However, when viewed at my 1280 by 1024 res monitor in FF, it's not centered. And worse yet, it breaks horribly in IE7. So, it's definitely NOT the answer. Am I chasing the impossible dream? The solution has to work for FF and IE 6/7 the solution can be anything that would work, though being a bit of a purist, I would prefer a div over table:)

  • Write a tree class in Java where each level has a unique object type

    - by user479576
    I need to write a tree class in Java where each level has a unique object type. The way it is written below does not take advantage of generics and causes alot of duplicate code. Is there a way to write this with Generics ? public class NodeB { private String nodeValue; //private List<NodeB> childNodes; // constructors // getters/setters } public class NodeA { private String value; private List<NodeB> childNodes; // constructors // getters/setters } public class Tree { private String value; private List<NodeA> childNodes; // constructors // tree methods }

  • How to convert a void pointer to array of classes

    - by user99545
    I am trying to convert a void pointer to an array of classes in a callback function that only supports a void pointer as a means of passing paramaters to the callback. class person { std::string name, age; }; void callback (void *val) { for (int i = 0; i < 9; i++) { std::cout << (person [])val[i].name; } } int main() { person p[10]; callback((void*)p); } My goal is to be able to pass an array of the class person to the callback which then prints out the data such as their name and age. However, the compile does not like what I am doing and complains that error: request for member 'name' in 'val', which is of non-class type 'void*' How can I go about doing this?

  • Dynamic decision on which class to use

    - by Sirupsen
    Hello, Let's say I have a class named Klass, and a class called Klass2. Depending on the user's input, I'd like to decide whether I'll call "hello_world" on Klass, or Klass2: class Klass def self.hello_world "Hello World from Klass1!" end end class Klass2 def self.hello_world "Hello World from Klass2!" end end input = gets.strip class_to_use = input puts class_to_use.send :hello_world The user inputs "Klass2" and the script should say: Hello World from Klass2! Obviously this code doesn't work, since I'm calling #hello_world on String, but I'd like to call #hello_world on Klass2. How do I "convert" the string into a referrence to Klass2 (or whatever the user might input), or how could I else would I achieve this behavior?

  • HTML/CSS Design for Report

    - by Kevin Brown
    I'm looking for some resources that demonstrate good graphic design for generated (PHP/HTML/CSS) reports. The website I'm designing is essentially a long test. Everything is finished except the report generation, and this part needs to look good! I'd appreciate any advice/resources you can point me to! I know this isn't directly programming related, but my purposes do encompass coding and output.

  • A generic Find method to search by Guid type for class implementing IDbSet interface

    - by imak
    I am implementing a FakeDataSet class by implementing IDbSet interface. As part of implementing this interface, I have to implement Find method. All my entity classes has an Guid type Id column. I am trying to implement Find method for this FakeDbSet class but having hard time to write it in a generic way. Below is my attempts for writing this method but since it does not know about Id been Guid type, I am getting compilation error on m.Id call. Any ideas on how this could be accomplished? public class FakeDataSet<T> : IDbSet<T> where T: class, new() { // Other methods for implementing IDbSet interface public T Find(params object[] keyValues) { var keyValue = (Guid)keyValues.FirstOrDefault(); return this.SingleOrDefault(m => m.Id == keyValue); // How can I write this } }

  • Should I pointer-cast from a private derived class to its base class?

    - by skydoor
    I found this from C++FAQ Generally, No. From a member function or friend of a privately derived class, the relationship to the base class is known, and the upward conversion from PrivatelyDer* to Base* (or PrivatelyDer& to Base&) is safe; no cast is needed or recommended. However users of PrivatelyDer should avoid this unsafe conversion, since it is based on a private decision of PrivatelyDer, and is subject to change without notice. How to understand the above words? I don't think the explanation is correct or accurate. I have a code like this class A{ }; class B: private A{ }; int main(){ B *b = new B(); A *a = new A(); a = b; //wrong a = (A*)b; //right }

  • Operator & and * at function prototipe in class

    - by Puyover
    I'm having a problem with a class like this: class Sprite { ... bool checkCollision(Sprite &spr); ... }; So, if I have that clase, I can do this: ball.checkCollision(bar1); But if I change the class to this: class Sprite { ... bool checkCollision(Sprite* spr); ... }; I have to do this: ball.checkCollision(&bar1); So, what's the difference?? It's better a way instead other? Thank you.
