• HttpWebRequest sessionID c# login

  Im trying to login to a website (www.vodafone.ie) with a console app and c# httpWebRequest. Problem is it works ok about 50% of the time. Im using fiddler to find out the GET and POST requests I need to make. Done that and my app is successfully recreating these as best as I can see. The steps are; 1) GET request with cookie container to login uri. server response sets new cookie called jsessionID 2) do POST request with login credentials and same cookie container containing previous jsessionID. Looking at the fiddler logs for successful POST request login (browser or my app) I see it sets a thing in the response header : "Set-cookie: supercookie=-; Expires=Thu, 01-Jan-1970 00:00:10 GMT; Path=". What is this supercookie thing? Its not returned to me in the response cookie collection like the jsessionID. On rare occasions, there is along string of numbers with the supercookie instead of just "-". I made sure to clear all cookies before analyzing the request/response headers. If the super cookie thing is not being set in the reponse my login fails. So just wondering what's going on here? cheers!

• WPF: Menu Items only bind command parameters once.

  Ive noticed this a couple of times when using menus with commands, they are not very dynamic, check this out. I am creating a menu from a collection of colours, I use it to colour a column in a datagrid. Anyway when i first bring up the menu (its a context menu) the command parameter binding happens and it binds to the column that the context menu was opened on. However the next time i bring it up it seems wpf caches the menu and it doesnt rebind the command parameter. so i can set the colour only on the initial column that the context menu appeared on.   I am having a problem with PayPal IPN response. After payment is made by the customer, PayPal IPN returns this URL: www.mywebsite.com?orderid=32&tx=2AC67201DL3533325&st=Pending&amt=2.50&cc=USD&cm=&item_number=32 There are a couple of issues Post-back field names are undefined or missing. Thus I can get the INVALID message. I am not sure if my website does not read POST variables. When I looked at IPN history, it shows that each IPN has been sent with the complete url. Payment status keeps coming Pending. Does this issue cause the first issue? Thank you for your responses in advance. • Reporting Services 2010 RDLC: Passing Querystring Parameters from an RDLC

  I'm trying to build a simple RDLC report that shows some data, and has a 'select' link that sends the browser off to a certain url with some data in the querystring (a key). In the vs2010 report designer, I can double-click on the column, then select action, and there are a bunch of thigns that seem like they might work. But none of them do. Under 'enable as a hyperlink' I can pick 'go to url' but there aren't any parameter options to pass. I also tried 'go to report' on the off chance that I could trick it into doing what I want. Here there are parameter options, but it knows that my url is not a report and the "select" link renders as text (not clickable). Any ideas? I'm pretty sure this used to work in vs2008, and it seems like something that must be doable. But I've been pulling out my hair for several hours on this one.

• Calling a MVC2 partial view using jquery returns empty string problem

  I have an issue where I have a partial view that returns some HTML to be displayed. Its called when something is clicked on the page using jquery. The problem is that no matter how I call it, i get back an empty string even though it reports success. This is happening to me using Chrome, going against my local machine. My controller looks like this: public ActionResult MyPartialView() { return PartialView(model); } I have tried jquery using .get(), .post() and .load() and all have the same results. Here is an example using .post(): $.post(url, function (data) { alert(data); }); The result always comes back as an empty string. I can navigate to the partial view in the browser manually and i get back the desired HTML. The URL I am using to call it I resolved fully so it looks like "http://localhost/controller/mypartialview" rather than using the relative path of "/controller/mypartialview" which I thought was the original problem. Any idea what may cause this?

• OAuth::Problem (parameter_absent)

  Im working with OAuth 0.3.6 and the linkedin gem for a Rails application and I have this issue where OAuth throws an error saying that OAuth::Problem (parameter_absent). The thing is it doesn't throw the error on every occasion its called and the problem is I am unable to reproduce the issue locally to test it. The documentation says that : [parameter_absent: a required parameter wasn't received. In this case, the response SHOULD also contain an oauth_parameters_absent parameter. ] but the request is generated the same way each time to obtain the tokens so I fail to understand why this happens. • Fail to launch application (CreateProcess error=87), can't use shorten classpath workaround

  When I launch our application in Eclipse on Windows I receive the following error: Exception occured executing command line. Cannot run program .. : CreateProcess error=87, The parameter is incorrect I've solved this in the past by shortening the CLASSPATH. I've now come to a point where I can no longer shorten the CLASSPATH, and would like to know if there are any other workarounds. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/830473 seems to indicate that the max command prompt line length in windows xp is 8191 characters, and the only solution is to shorten folder names, reduce depth of folder trees, using parameter files, etc.

• VS2010, MSDeploy and declaration of parameters

  Hi I'm trying to deploy an ASP.NET MVC 2 app using MSDeploy. I use VS2010 to generate the package as a ZIP. Inside that ZIP is a parameters.xml file that declares the parameters that I can set. I want to be able to set more parameters, using the auto-generated deploy.cmd file like this: MySite.deploy.cmd "-setParam:name='IIS Web Application Name',value=MySite" "-setParam:name=IisVirtualDirectoryPhysicalPath,value=C:\inetpub\MySite" "-setParam:name=httpBinding,value=*:80:www.mysite.dk" That works fine, except for the httpBinding param. That is because that parameter is not declared inside the parameters.xml file that is added to the ZIP container. I could go and add that parameter declaration manually, but isn't there a way to do it from the command line and have it declare parameters I have in another XML file?

Does the EntityDataSource not support walking the relationships? How would you do this with the EntityDataSource? Also the @userName parameter is being added in the code behind for now. Extra points for anyone who knows how to specify a username parameter directly in the WhereParameters collection.

• Problem during RIA authentication

  Hi I've built an authentication service in RIA that inherits from DomainService and IAuthenticate. The problem is following: When LoginOperation fails (loginOperation.LoginSuccess is false) due to wrong credentials, everything is ok and it is reported to the user. However, when login succeeds, I get throw a really weird exception: {System.ServiceModel.DomainServices.Client.DomainOperationException: Load operation failed for query 'Login'. Value cannot be null. Parameter name: validationErrors --- System.ArgumentNullException: Value cannot be null. Parameter name: validationErrors at System.ServiceModel.DomainServices.Client.QueryCompletedResult..ctor(IEnumerable1 entities, IEnumerable1 includedEntities, Int32 totalCount, IEnumerable`1 validationErrors) I don't really understand this. What is IEnumerable validationErrors, where does it appear and why does it have to be != null ? This started happening after I ported my authentication services from Nhibernate to Entity Framework. I've even tried googling this exception and apparently I'm the only one with this problem so far. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 100% valid Ajax model written in Javascript with a few inputs I use being, Get or Post method, What page to communicate with, What String to send to that page and What element on my own page I might be fiddling with when I receive my response. The problem is that, should I set the request to Asynchronous (Hence Ajax), IE returns the error "The Data Necessary to Complete This Operation is Not Yet Available" in the onreadystatechange event where all I do is check if the readystate is 4 and the status is 200. The error doesn't come up in Firefox or Chrome as I would exepect as the Ajax is Asynchronous. Heres a snippet from the Post method xmlhttp.open("POST", commPage, true); xmlhttp.setRequestHeader("Content-Type","application/x-www-form-urlencoded; charset=UTF-8"); xmlhttp.onreadystatechange = function() { if (xmlhttp.readyState == 4 && xmlhttp.status == 200) { j = xmlhttp.responseText; i.innerHTML = j; } } xmlhttp.send(str); Edit: I should point out that in IE, I'm using the ActiveX Control - Msxml2.XMLHTTP or Microsoft.XMLHTTP or whichever returns true first.

• Deploying an MVC 2.0 .Net 4.0 application to Windows Server 2003

  I've spent the past couple of nights on this, and have come to the conclusions that I'm doing something wrong! Basically, I have my .Net 4.0 MVC 2.0 application deployed to my 2003 Server and it's constantly giving me the following error: The value for the 'compilerVersion' attribute in the provider options must be 'v4.0' or later if you are compiling for version 4.0 or later of the .NET Framework. To compile this Web application for version 3.5 or earlier of the .NET Framework, remove the 'targetFramework' attribute from the element of the Web.config file. I also have the .Net 3.5 MVC 1.0 application also deployed to the same server (from before the upgrade to .Net 4.0), and it works absolutely fine. I have re-run through Phil Haack's post on IIS6, making the necessary changes for .Net 4.0, but no luck. I have been through the steps in the British Developer's post too, but no joy. I have also tried the steps outlined in Johan's blog post, but the settings he mentions were already enabled. Obviously, I can't simply upgrade to a 2008 box, nor do I want to downgrade my software back to < 4.0 - any other ideas?

  Hello, I have a problem with m2eclipse (0.10.0) together with eclipse galileo (Build id: 20090920-1017). I always get the error message:"Eclipse is running in a JRE, but a JDK is required". I have tried several things, but nothing works. The error message is still there. Here are the things I have tried: In WindowPreferencesJavaInstalled JREs I checked JDK1.6.0_20. DOES NOT WORK In WindowPreferencesJavaInstalled JREs I removed all JREs. Only the checked JDK1.6.0_20 is still there. DOES NOT WORK In WindowPreferencesJavaInstalled JREsExecution Environments I choosed JavaSE-1.6 and checked JDK1.6.0_20[perfect match]. DOES NOT WORK. In Preferences of the eclipse desktop start icon I added the -vm parameter (C:\Programme\eclipse_galileo\eclipse\eclipse.exe -vm C:\Programme\Java\jdk1.6.0_20\bin). DOES NOT WORK. I added the clean parameter (C:\Programme\eclipse_galileo\eclipse\eclipse.exe -vm C:\Programme\Java\jdk1.6.0_20\bin -clean). DOES NOT WORK.   Someone provided me the regex to parse out a query string: (?<=\?)[^?]+$ I am trying to use that in JMeter with no luck (although I am successful in pulling out individual query string parameter values based on various example postings on the web). I created a regular expression extractor called "Grab QueryString". I selected the URL response field to check. For the reference name, I typed "myQueryString". For the regular expression, I entered your text. For template, I entered $1$ Match no = 1 Default Value = ERROR Unfortunately, "myQueryString" is getting populated with ERROR and not the URL query string as hoped when I try and use it as a parameter in a future GET. Thus, I see this in the "View Results Tree": https:/www.website.com/folder/page.aspx?ERROR Instead of: https:/www.website.com/folder/page.aspx?jfhjHSDjgdjhsjhsdhjSJHWed Did I do something wrong?
