  • I just updated to 12.04 from 11.10 and now the Unity bar is very sluggish and even the menus do not show on the panel

    Like the title says, I just upgraded to 12.04, I know it is only beta but I'm having problems with the Unity bar and the panel with the menus. First the Unity bar is acting very sluggish..I really don't know how to explain it. Also with the menu at the top, it keeps a strange little black bar on everything, even across my tabs in Firefox, it also doesn't let me see any of the menus, well they flicker and you sort of have to guess where everything is. I'm at a loss, I've already ran updates a couple of times to see if I missed something. I really hope I don't have to completely redo my whole Ubuntu setup. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Crossbrowser issue - navigation-menu [closed]

    I'm having issues with crossbrowser compatibility on my navigationmenu for my site. The issue is that it's not working as expected in MSIE. It bugs out on mouseover. The site is run with wordpress and the theme is called GreenChilli. It's a free theme from MyThemeShop and they don't seam to be very active in resolving free theme issues on their forum.     I busted my keyboard on my laptop, and now my computer rarely starts since it doesnt ignore this problem when booting. So what i want to do, is to disable my keyboard from the boot menu. But I cant access the boot menu since my keyboard doesnt work. I have an addtional keybaord via USB but that one doesnt work before windows is booted. So in short, what I want is to access my laptops boot menu now when im on windows via cmd, but im not sure how to do it.

  • VMware player unity with ubuntu 11.10 guest on W7 host - empty applications start menu

    I am trying to run Ubuntu 11.10 as a guest on Windows 7. When I enter into unity mode, the menu for the guest os, next to the Windows start menu is empty. I have searched around the web for a fix for this, but there doesn't seem to be anything that works. I have tried restarting the guest os several times, I am running VMware player as an admin, but the guest start menu in unity mode is still empty. I have tried clearing the VM cache. I have installed all the Ubuntu updates and the VMware tools. Has anyone had this problem?

  • Menu bar and launcher missing in new installation of ubuntu 13.04

    I have just installed ubuntu 13.04 on my ThinkPad laptop. I am missing the launcher and upper bar. I only found references to the same problem for upgrades, so I tried everything written here, here and here with no success. However, referring to the second link, I ran ccsm and found my Ubuntu Unity Plugin unchecked. Checking it required to also enable the OpenGL and so I did. But, apparently I am unable to enable the OpenGL. Trying to enable it manually...and the checkbox gets automatically unchecked after few seconds. Please help. Update: I have Intel graphics driver, maybe the problem is specifically with it?. I also tried running ccsm after logging using CTRL+ALT+F1 like given here. I was able to enable OpenGL and the Ubuntu Unity Plugin there, but still, no effect on my display, also after reboot.

  • Ubuntu 12.4 not listed while in boot menu

    I am using Dell Inspiron 17R with Windows7 as the primary OS to boot my system up. I am new to Linux and to begin with, I thought of installing Ubuntu 12.4 AMD 64 bit version on my laptop. Today I performed a successful installation on my laptop but when I reboot, it doesn't show me the Ubuntu OS in the list (I can only see Windows7). Is there any way to bring up the Ubuntu entry into this list? While installing I selected the option to have both Windows7 and Ubuntu OS on my laptop. The root drive for both OS is C: drive. Hence I split the drive into two (250 GB for Windows7 and 250 GB for Ubuntu). Now I can only see 250GB in my C:\ drive for Windows7. Is the remaining 250GB assigned to Ubuntu or did I lose that 250GB space?? Your answers will be highly appreciated..

  • How to get the value of an item from database and set it as the spinner value

    I have a database and the database populates a listview. when i long press a list item from the listview i get a context menu where i have the option to edit. When the edit option is clicked i open an activity and get all the values of the respective fields from the database. Now, here I want to get a value from the database and show it in the spinner. the spinner already has these values and is getting populated from the database...     Ok I know everyone is going to tell me not to use RegEx for parsing HTML, but I'm programming on Android and don't have ready access to an HTML parser (that I'm aware of). Besides, this is server generated HTML which should be more consistent than user-generated HTML. The regex looks like this: Pattern patternMP3 = Pattern.compile( "<A HREF=\"[^\"]+.+\\.mp3</A>", Pattern.CASE_INSENSITIVE | Pattern.UNICODE_CASE); Matcher matcherMP3 = patternMP3.matcher(HTML); while (matcherMP3.find()) { ... } The input HTML is all on one line, which is causing the problem. When the HTML is on separate lines this pattern works. Any suggestions?

I have Eclipse installed on my machine along with ADT plugin and i have downloaded the source code and imported it in a eclipse. and tried to run it on Android 1.6 platform but somehow i am not getting the map instead i m just getting blank screen with grid in it.
