  • How to add a Page to Frame using code in WPF

    I have a Window where I have put a Frame. I would like to add a Page to the Frame when I click a button that is also on the Window but not in the Frame. There are several buttons in the Window and each click on a button should load a different Page in the Frame. Since I'm a total newbie on this WPF stuff it's quite possible that this approach is not the best and I have thought about replacing the Frame with a Canvas and then make UserControls instead of Pages that will be added to the Canvas. I welcome any ideas and suggestions on how to best solve this. I aiming for a functionality that is similar to the application Billy Hollis demonstrated in dnrtv episode 115. (http://dnrtv.com/default.aspx?showID=115).

    I have a string like def data = "session=234567893egshdjchasd&userId=12345673456&timeOut=1800000" I want to convert it to a map ["session", 234567893egshdjchasd] ["userId", 12345673456] ["timeout", 1800000] This is the current way I am doing it, def map = [:] data.splitEachLine("&"){ it.each{ x -> def object = x.split("=") map.put(object[0], object[1]) } } It works, but is there a more efficient way?

  • WPF RadioButton selected in UI, but seen by code as IsChecked == false

    I have some radio buttons in a group box. I select the buttons randomly, and all works perfectly from a visual standpoint and also the event handler is called each time a new button is selected. Now I have a dependency property with a callback when the value changes. When in this callback procedure I read the IsChecked value of any button, the value is False, in spite the button is visually selected (they are all false at the same time, strange). The debugger also displays all buttons unchecked.   • Statically Compiled Oracle Client Drivers/Code

    Hello, I'm looking to write a command-line program that can execute database scripts against an Oracle server, however the machine the program will be run on may not have an Oracle client installed on it. I also don't want to rely on a language that requires a VM as there's no guarantee that the VM will be installed, so a language like C is preferable for this. Is there a way that I can statically compile/build this program and not have to have the user install the Oracle client on that machine? I'm trying to be as unobtrusive as possible. Thanks.

    I have been trying to write a regex that will remove whitespace following a semicolon (';') when it is between both an open and close curly brace ('{','}'). I've gotten somewhere but haven't been able to pull it off.     I just found out, that it seems a common pattern to user UpperFirstLetterPascalCase() for private methods. I for myself, find this completely inconsistent with naming rules of private instance fields and variables and I find it difficult to read/debug, too. I would want to ask, why using a first upper letter for methods could be a better choice than a first lower (doThis())? Just out of curiosity...

    Theres a war brewing I can feel it! Old school coders are used to having every server control create events in the .cs files.. for example.. Getting the Initial load of data, Saving Data, Deleting data... and then binding datasources to the server control.. New school coders want to do it in Jquery + AJAX calls to .svc files... That gives automatic no post backs so that is a advantage... and I think its a different way of thinking.. All of a sudden the UI related events are all being done in Jquery.. What is the most modern and efficient way to go ? How can I convince the old school coders to let us you this new paradigm ? (assuming it is the better way)

    I was wondering what style others' use when writing conditional statements that include boolean types. Currently I'm caught between using two styles. bool foo; if (foo == true) if (foo) if (foo == false) if (!foo) Obviously the first set is a bit more obvious. However, when combining conditions it could get a bit clunky. if (foo == true || blah == false || abc == true) if (foo || !blah || abc) Switching between one style for short conditionals and the other for long conditionals seems like inconsistent coding so it seems like I'd have to choose between one or the other. What do you prefer or consider better style and why?
