  When a form with a run at server is added there will be two forms with runat server and another error occurs. Can some one give me an idea. Thankx in advance. • Hibernate database integrity with multiple java applications

  We have 2 java web apps both are read/write and 3 standalone java read/write applications (one loads questions via email, one processes an xml feed, one sends email to subscribers) all use hibernate and share a common code base. The problem we have recently come across is that questions loaded via email sometimes overwrite questions created in one of the web apps. We originally thought this to be a caching issue. We've tried turning off the second level cache, but this doesn't make a difference. We are not explicitly opening and closing sessions, but rather let hibernate manage them via Util.getSessionFactory().getCurrentSession(), which thinking about it, may actually be the issue. We'd rather not setup a clustered 2nd level cache at this stage as this creates another layer of complexity and we're more than happy with the level of performance we get from the app as a whole. So does implementing a open-session-in-view pattern in the web apps and manually managing the sessions in the standalone apps sound like it would fix this? • (500) Internal Server Error with C# and Web Dev 2008 Express

  The code below is generic, found in a variety of places, including a book I have. I have used it as a base for a working program in VS 2005. Now I've resurrected it with my current Visual Web Developer 2008 Express Edition and I seem to have problems connecting it to my default development server (I don't have IIS on my XP). The error is: (500) Internal Server Error. • Update Web Reference in Visual Studio

  Hi, I have inherited a web site project that makes use of a number of WCF Web Services hosted on a BizTalk server. We have two environments that I need to deploy this project to, with different URLs for the different BizTalk servers. i.e. In the Staging environment, I need to point the services at xx.xx.xx.101 In the Live environment, I need to point them at xx.xx.xx.102, or whatever. Currently, we've got all of the URLs stored in keys in the web.config file, so that we can change them dynamically... Unfortunately this isn't working! If I change the URL in the web.config to something other than what the project was compiled with, I get an error when calling the service: Server did not recognize the value of HTTP Header SOAPAction: xx.xx.xx.101\ServiceName\MethodName I'm told that the only way they've known to deploy this is to update the web.config URLs, change all of the web references in Visual Studio to match, click on "update web reference" for each reference in Visual Studio, and then compile. It's driving me mad! I've written a pre-build NAnt script to go through and replace all instances of the URL found anywhere in the project directory, and even that isn't making any difference. There must be something else being pulled down from the service when I click the "update reference", but I'm new to working with web services, and so I'm not sure what. Does anyone have any ideas? Is there a way to do this programatically? Thanks.

• With sqlalchemy how to dynamically bind to database engine on a per-request basis

  I have a Pylons-based web application which connects via Sqlalchemy (v0.5) to a Postgres database. For security, rather than follow the typical pattern of simple web apps (as seen in just about all tutorials), I'm not using a generic Postgres user (e.g. "webapp") but am requiring that users enter their own Postgres userid and password, and am using that to establish the connection. That means we get the full benefit of Postgres security. Complicating things still further, there are two separate databases to connect to. Although they're currently in the same Postgres cluster, they need to be able to move to separate hosts at a later date. We're using sqlalchemy's declarative package, though I can't see that this has any bearing on the matter. Most examples of sqlalchemy show trivial approaches such as setting up the Metadata once, at application startup, with a generic database userid and password, which is used through the web application. This is usually done with Metadata.bind = create_engine(), sometimes even at module-level in the database model files. My question is, how can we defer establishing the connections until the user has logged in, and then (of course) re-use those connections, or re-establish them using the same credentials, for each subsequent request. We have this working -- we think -- but I'm not only not certain of the safety of it, I also think it looks incredibly heavy-weight for the situation. Inside the __call__ method of the BaseController we retrieve the userid and password from the web session, call sqlalchemy create_engine() once for each database, then call a routine which calls Session.bind_mapper() repeatedly, once for each table that may be referenced on each of those connections, even though any given request usually references only one or two tables. So the create_engine() calls occur on every request... I can see that being needed, and the Connection Pool probably caches them and does things sensibly. But calling Session.bind_mapper() once for each table, on every request? Seems like there has to be a better way. Obviously, since a desire for strong security underlies all this, we don't want any chance that a connection established for a high-security user will inadvertently be used in a later request by a low-security user.

• The Work Order Printing Challenge

  One of the biggest concerns we've heard from maintenance practitioners is the ability to print and batch print work order details along with its accompanying attachments. Indeed, maintenance workers traditionally rely on work order packets to complete their job. A standard work order packet can include a variety of information like equipment documentation, operating instructions, checklists, end-of-task feedback forms and the likes. Now, the problem is that most Asset Lifecycle Management applications do not provide a simple and efficient solution for process printing with document attachments. Work order forms can be easily printed but attachments are usually left out of the printing process. This sounds like a minor problem, but when you are processing high volume of work orders on a regular basis, this inconvenience can result in important inefficiencies. In order to print work order and its related attachments, maintenance personnel need to print the work order details and then go back to the work order and open each individual attachment using the proper authoring application to view and print each document. The printed output is collated into a work order packet. The AutoVue Document Print Service products that were just released in April 2010 aim at helping organizations address the work order printing challenge. Customers and partners can leverage the AutoVue Document Print Services to build a complete printing solution that complements their existing print server solution with AutoVue's document- and platform-agnostic document print services. The idea is to leverage AutoVue's printing services to invoke printing either programmatically or manually directly from within the work order management application, and efficiently process the printing of complete work order packets, including all types of attachments, from office files to more advanced engineering documents like 2D CAD drawings.   I have deployed the default asp.net mvc 4 web api project to my windows server 2008 RC and am experiensing some issues with calling the web api actions. I'm quite new in the server/iis configuration part. I can open the home page, but the API part doesnt work. • How do I print unprintable web pages?

  I want to print out a web page that seems to be unprintable in both Firefox and Chrome. It is multiple pages but when I print it out in Firefox and Chrome, they only print the first page. The only way I have found to print out the page is to print it in IE in XPS Document Writer format. Is there a tool (e.g., web browser or web browser plugin) that will help? Or is there a setting I can use in Firefox or Chrome?

  I'm renting a dedicated server which I'd like to use to "surf the Web": basically I want to always surf the Web from the same static IP (the one of my dedicated server). I can do it by running Xvnc/FreeNX on the dedicated server, but this is kinda slow and clumsy (I tried it). What are the steps needed to install an "elite/high-anonimity" Web proxy on a dedicated (Debian) Linux server knowing that my two requirements are: I'm the only person that needs access to the proxy all I want is that my broadband (dynamic) IP is completely hidden (I want to always surf from my dedicated server's IP). Note that using the static IP people can find my domains and my real name and I'm perfectly fine with that (actually it is what I want). What I don't want is people knowing from which dynamic IP (broadband) I'm connecting. What are the steps needed to do that? (basically I don't care about "anonimity", what I want is to appear to surf from a static IP and I think I need what is called an "elite" Web proxy to do that, but I'm not sure) Technical infos and sample configuration most welcome :)

• Reverse proxy for mailserver (SMTP + HTTP for web client)

  I'm looking at doing some reverse proxy work for a mail server with corresponding web client. Both servers are running on the same machine, this is not a server with a high load. :) The solution I've discussed with friends is having the mail server/web client on our internal network. Then to put a reverse proxy on the DMZ to service both SMTP and web client HTTP-traffic to the mail server on the internal network. From what I understand this is the recommended secure solution? So far I've thought for the SMTP-proxy part of using postfix which will receive mail, do some spamhause and similar anti-spam measures and if it all checks out, send the mail to the mail server on the inside. The mail server on the inside will send all outgoing mail to the proxy which will then send it out on the Internet. For the web client I'm not sure exactly which software I should be running on the proxy machine, I've been thinking about using Squid -- but that's basically based on the fact that I know squid is a http proxy. The web client data will be sent out over SSL. Reading around some here on Serverfault I've seen other people using Apache with mod_proxy+mod_security for similar situations. Am I thinking correctly for this solution? What software would you guys use and with which modules? Thanks in advance for the help! :)

  I've got a small SCCM 2012 deployment with about 35 clients attached. Most of these clients are in the same network as the single SCCM host, but three are about 1000 miles away. Oddly, these three clients have stopped being able to download some application packages over BITS. Publishing a new package works for all the other clients, but for these three it never seems to download. If I go to the software centre, it just hangs at "0% downloaded". Some other packages seem to work fine, the daily anti-malware delta gets downloaded and patched without issue. Why are these packages failing?

  The company I work for uses an application that is deployed through clickonce. This means that everytime they update said program the program regenerates in a new location ie: C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Apps\2.0\89XCT43D.10T\WBZ8WE7L.927\trm8..tion_1ad39bb503bcb5df_0008.0005_14829906c9aa8611\%appname%.exe Recently the computers were updated to windows 7 machines and now everytime an update is pushed out the windows firewall see this as a new application and prompts the users to allow the program through the firewall. THis means I have to walk around to every computer and type in admin credentials. Does anyone know of a way to allow the application regardless of the path it is in? Google has not been very helpful so far.

  I installed IIS 7.5 (Windows 7) on two different PCs, one PC saves configuration to applicationHost.config and the other to web.config! Screenshot: As you can see, the PC on the left does not contain the settings (they are stored in applicationHost.config) and the PC to the right does in fact store the settings in web.config. I have not and hope not to modify the configuration files by hand and would like to do it using IIS Manager only. Does anyone know why this happens or if there is some setting to force configuration to the web.config file? Thank you. • XBMC launching external applications full screen

  Running xbmc-standalone (Eden) on Ubuntu server edition 12.04 (no gnome/kde/etc...). When launching another application via 'advanced launcher' or other launcher add-on XBMC goes into a 'windowed mode' and the app shows up in a 'windowed' mode. The XBMC and app windows are cascaded and most of the screen is unused. This is obviously not what i'd like. I'd like the app to launch full screen. ideas? Other info: - using lightdm - tried with 'Rom Browser' - tried with 'Advanced Launcher' - once app had launched, tried to 'toggle full screen' in app, but with no success

  I'm setting up a public web server: Windows Server 2008 R2, IIS7.5. Does anyone have a tutorial / walkthrough / tips on properly securing a public web server? I've seen a few tutorials but mostly focused on Windows Server 2003. What I've done so far: Created a specific user account for the website / app pool, Renamed Admin account, Installed FTPS, Configured firewall to block any non-public service (web / https), Configured firewall to allow access to management interfaces only from specific IP addresses (rdp, IIS management, ftp) Maybe a few other things but can't remember at the moment... ICMP is allowed... Should I disable all except ping? Port scan reveals only web and https ports. Any other suggestions? Thanks

• Prevent Outlook from automatically deleting meeting emails

  I'm using Outlook Web Access to read my email. When I receive a meeting notice and acknowledge it, Outlook adds it to my calendar then deletes the email. Is there a way to disable Outlook automatically deleting the meeting email? There doesn't seem to be any way to configure this in Options - Messaging and Options - Calendar. Note that I'm using Outlook Web Access and not the desktop client. From the copyright date this appears to be Outlook 2007. Follow-up: Based on edusysadmin's comment I logged-in using IE8, which exposed a setting not available in Firefox - "Move out-of-date meeting requests and responses to the Deleted Items folder". However unchecking this box doesn't seem to impact the auto-delete behavior. Follow-up 2: Keep in mind I am using Outlook Web Access via a web browser. I do not have the thick client Outlook installed.

  Background: I use my Mac for web development, running copies of web sites locally. I recently installed the Snow Leopard update, which to all intents and purposes seems to have gone fine, except... What's not working? Web-sharing; more specifically I can't turn it on via preferences. The preference pane just hangs when I try to. So Apache doesn't start on reboot. I can start Apache by hand, but I don't know enough to either setup apache to start with the computer, or to properly fix web sharing. Further details My Apache error log shows nothing on when the system boots up (as I would expect).
