  Hey, I am working on an iPhone Web App using HTML & CSS. I have currently got the JavaScript/HTML5 Geolocation picking up my current location and showing me it on a Google Map using Lat & Long values. I also want to add these Lat & Long Values into the 'address' text field on the page so I can submit the details.   I am trying to display adsense ads on maps, but internet explorer gives me a hard time once again. The ads show on all other browsers I tried (chrome, ff, safari, opeara) but internet explorer. • jQuery: How to collect values from sliders into simple object with id as keys

  I have several jQuery UI Sliders and I want to collect their values. Thought it would be a simple task, but when I was going to do it I got stuck and not quite sure what to do anymore :p The object I would like to end up with should look something like this: { a: 80, b: 90, c: 20, ... } I can do it manually like this: var values = { a: $('#a').slider('value'), b: $('#b').slider('value'), c: $('#c').slider('value'), ... }; But that's a bit tedious, especially if I need to add or remove or rename. Was hoping I could do something with the map or each function or something like that, but I can't figure it out. Anyone have some clever ideas?

• Making Google Maps overlay draggable

  I have extended GOverlay so that it draws small rectangular div at a specified location. But how to make it draggable using Maps API V2? First I tried to just listen the mousedown/up/move DOM events of the div itself. While I got this mostly working, I thought that there has to be a simpler way of doing that. I tried listening the "drag" event of the map itself, which didn't work as I expected. I also found GDraggableObject, which seemed like something to use exactly for that, but I didn't understand how to really use it. Any suggestions?

  I'm making an API call that returns JSON which has a particular field which either returns false or a map depending on content. It's a field that I don't care about. I expected GSON to ignore this particular field, though it doesn't seem to be. The object generation fails with the following message: com.google.gson.JsonSyntaxException: java.lang.IllegalStateException: Expected a string but was BEGIN_OBJECT at line 1 column 403560 I've seen this particular question (Gson deserialize json with varying value types). I want to make sure I need to make a custom deserializer before doing so. I'm wondering if I may have another issue. edit: Example: "anonymous_flag": { } vs "anonymous_flag": "yes" Another Edit: I actually had the field in my model object... I was referencing the wrong class. Judge away :)

  I have a simple SEO task. There's a City model and a Brand model, and I have to create 1st-level URLs for both (e.g. site.com/honda and site.com/boston). What's the preferred routing/controller combination to do this in Rails?   Hello! I've go a very simple question, but unfortunately I can't figure the answer myself. Suppose I've got some data structure that holds settings and acts like a settings map. I have a GetValue(const std::string& name) method, that returns the corresponding value. Now I'm trying to figure out - what kind of return-value approach would be better. The obvious one means making my method act like std::string GetValue(const std::string& name) and return a copy of the object and rely on RVO in performance meanings. The other one would mean making two methods std::string& GetValue(...) const std::string& GetValue(...) const which generally means duplicating code or using some evil constant casts to use one of these routines twice. #Q What would be your choice in this kind of situation and why?

  Hi I've just started learning rails and been going through some tutorials from learning rails (http://www.buildingwebapps.com/podcasts/79335-putting-the-page-contents-into-the) The tutorials appear to be Rails v2 and I'm on Rails v3 There is a line in the routes file which appears to be causing a problem map.view_page ':name', :controller => 'viewer', :action => 'show' The line works for the front end view i.e. my viewer controller but not for the back end I get the error NoMethodError in Viewer#show I think this has something to do with the view I am using and the line <%= @page.body %> I know it's difficult without the full code but if anyone can help that would be awesome

  I have a situation where I need the following RequestMapping: @RequestMapping(value={"/{section}"}) ...method implementation here... @RequestMapping(value={"/support"}) ...method implementation here... There is an obvious conflict. My hope was that Spring would resolve this automatically and map /support to the second method, and everything else to the first, but it instead maps /support to the first method. How can I tell Spring to allow an explicit RequestMapping to override a RequestMapping with a PathVariable in the same place? (Edit - this is simplified, I know that having those two RequestMapping alone wouldn't make much sense)

Each class has remotely callable methods and a dispatch method with two possible input, a string identifying the method or an integer which would be the index of the method in a table. A mapping of the string to the corresponding integer would be implemented by a map. The caller would send the string on the first call and get back the integer with the response so that it simply has to send the integer on subsequent calls. It is just a small optimization. The integer may be assigned dynamically on demand by the server object. The server class may be derived from another class with overridden virtual methods. What could be a simple and general way to define the method binding and the dispatch method ?

• Java Applet - ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException

  OK so I am getting an ArrayIndexOutofBoundsException. I don't know why. Here's my code: http://www.so.pastebin.com/y5MjD1k3 The thing is when I go to the red brick at board[2][2]... I go there. Then I go up... then I TRY go to back down but that error pops up. Also when I go to the right 8 squares... I ALSO get that error. ALSO, pretend my 2d map is split into FOUR squares... well square one is the top left... if I go ANYWHERE else ... I get that error. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

  Currently I'm working on a Server-Client system which will be the backbone of my application. I have to find the best way to send requests and handle them on the server-side. The server-side should be able to handle requests like this one: getPortfolio -i 2 -d all In an old project I decided to send such a request as string and the server application had to look up the first part of the string ("getPortfolio"). Afterwards the server application had to find the correct method in a map which linked the methods with the the first part of the string ("getPortfolio"). The second part ("-i 2 -d all") got passed as parameter and the method itself had to handle this string/parameter. I doubt that this is the best solution in order to handle many different requests.   So my question is ... " When your using the mapping feature to write into a memory buffer, are you really just saving the whole procedure into a queue so directX executes it when finished with other tasks???" I ask this question because this is my perception of mapping when writing to a buffer. I just want to make sure my perception is correct. I understand that the monitor moves extremely slow in compared to the processor, and I am sure the processor can execute 10 times the amount the screen can refresh. So is this one of the reason you should map when writing to a buffer. so each procedure can be done in a orderly fashion. If someone could elaborate, that would be great. thanks

And I'm having a hard time mapping the classes to the database. The database looks something like that: TABLE DEAL { Long id; Long typeId; } TABLE DEAL_TYPE { Long id; String text; } I know I could use a simple @OneToMany relationship from deal to deal type, but I would prefer to use an enum. Is this possible? I almost got it working by using a EnumType.ORDINAL type. But unfortunately, my IDs in my deal type table are not sequential, and do not start at 1. Any suggestions?

  Is there a way to return the users location as a string from a model? I have a model thats job is to download same JSON data from a web service. When sending in my request I need to add ?lat=LAT_HERE&lng=LNG_HERE to the end of the string. I have seen tons of examples using the map or constantly updating a label. But I cant find out how to explicitly return the lat and lng values. Im only 2 days into iPhone dev so go easy on me :)

• How to enforce a site-wide license?

  We have a small .Net program that we sell with individual licenses. The individual licenses are enforced by registering a key file that is generated using information from the machine used to install the program (MAC address, etc.) Now, we have a customer request for a site-wide license, such that they can deploy to as many machines on their site as possible. From the technical POV I'm not sure what are the usual approaches for this; our old approach won't work since we can't map the license to any machine-specific information. Any suggestions? A few more details: the program is a client-side program that includes an Office Add-In the machines to be installed on may or may not have internet access we aren't restricted to .Net-only approaches, I'm just looking for a general idea of how this sort of thing is usually handled
