  am trying to parse a multi-line html file using regex. HTML code: < td>Details< /td> < /tr> < tr class=d1> < td>uss_vod_translator< /td> Regex Expression: if ($line =~ m/Details<\/td>\s*<\/tr>\s*<tr\s*class=d1>\s*<td>(\w*)<\/td>/) { print "$1"; } I am using /s* (space) for multi-line, but it is not working. I searched about it, even used /\? for multi-line but that too did not work. Can any one please suggest me how to parse a multiline HTML?

• Bash: how to interrupt this script when there's a CTRL-C?

  I wrote a tiny Bash script to find all the Mercurial changesets (starting from the tip) that contains the string passed in argument: #!/bin/bash CNT=$(hg tip | awk '{ print $2 }' | head -c 3) while [ $CNT -gt 0 ] do echo rev $CNT hg log -v -r$CNT | grep $1 let CNT=CNT-1 done If I interrupt it by hitting ctrl-c, more often than not the command currently executed is "hg log" and it's that command that gets interrupted, but then my script continues. I was then thinking of checking the return status of "hg log", but because I'm piping it into grep I'm not too sure as to how to go about it... How should I go about exiting this script when it is interrupted? (btw I don't know if that script is good at all for what I want to do but it does the job and anyway I'm interested in the "interrupted" issue)

• Trouble using eval() with cython

  I was trying to speed up some code, and then I tried compiling a class and a function using cython and WOW! I havn't measured it yet but it looks at least 10x faster. I first looked at cython just two days ago, I'm very impressed! However, I can't get eval() to work. def thefirst(int a): d = eval('1+2+a') return d I compile this to module1.pyd file and call it with the python file: from module1 import thefirst x = thefirst(2) print x This returns: NameError: name 'a' is not defined. All help is appreciated.

• WCF host in windows service: cannot get wsdl

  Hi guys! i've a windows service that hosts a WCF service with basicHTTPBinding. In test everything goes right, when i deploy the win service on a Window Server 2003, service hosts correctly wcf, I print out endpoints in tracing, they're correct, but when i ask for wsdl using the address that service exposed (i.e. http://mybaseaddress/?wsdl) i get a dns error, i cannot get the page! Where i fail? I miss something? If i host the wcf with a console app, using the same config file, i can get the wsdl without problems! Thank you in advance Michele

  I'm struggling with writing a python script that automatically grabs the zip fail containing all my google calendars and stores it (as a backup) on my harddisk. I'm using ClientLogin to get an authentication token (and successfully can obtain the token). Unfortunately, i'm unable to retrieve the file at https://www.google.com/calendar/exporticalzip It always asks me for the login credentials again by returning a login page as html (instead of the zip). Here's the critical code: post_data = post_data = urllib.urlencode({ 'auth': token, 'continue': zip_url}) request = urllib2.Request('https://www.google.com/calendar', post_data, header) try: f = urllib2.urlopen(request) result = f.read() except: print "Error" Anyone any ideas or done that before? • How can I prompt for input using Selenium/Webdriver and use the result?

  I would like to allow for user input and make some decisions based on it. If I do this: driver.execute_script("prompt('Enter smth','smth')") I get a nice prompt, but I cannot use it's value. Is there any way of showing an input box to the user, and use the value typed there?   I'm having trouble reading special characters from stdin. • very quickly getting total size of folder

  I want to quickly find the total size of any folder using python. def GetFolderSize(path): TotalSize = 0 for item in os.walk(path): for file in item[2]: try: TotalSize = TotalSize + getsize(join(item[0], file)) except: print("error with file: " + join(item[0], file)) return TotalSize That's the simple script I wrote to get the total size of the folder, it took around 60 seconds (+-5 seconds). By using multiprocessing I got it down to 23 seconds on a quad core machine. Using the Windows file explorer it takes only ~3 seconds (Right click- properties to see for yourself). So is there a faster way of finding the total size of a folder close to the speed that windows can do it? Windows 7, python 2.6 (Did searches but most of the time people used a very similar method to my own) Thanks in advance.

(Will already installed Printable services be caught by the ServiceTracker. will ServiceTracker.addingService(ServiceReference) be called for each of the pre installed Printable services)

I have tried using the eval() function but that doesn't seem to work. • image rendering issue

  I am running Apache/2.2.3 (CentOS). For some reason certain images, jpg, gif, or png will show up as byte code when accessed directly on the server. Firefox 3 and Safari both think the content type is text/html. IE I believe has something built in to recognize it is an image and ignore the content type and renders the image correctly regardless. I can't seem to find anyone else with this issue. An example of this can be found at http://www.thedacs.com/admin/gp/userfiles/image/gp28%5Fimg%5F01.jpg but the image below on same server the image is rendered correctly (use same path from above) Fig3mod.jpg The first image works fine in Photoshop CS, Illistrator, GIMP, Paint.net,and any other image editing software. I have tried everything when editing the images from trying multiple file formats to print screens and cropping to create a new image to lose old image meta data. Can anybody help?

• Write data to an xml file.

  My aim is to write an XML file with few tags whose values are the regional language. I'm using Python to do this and using IDLE(Pythong GUI) for programming. While I try to write the words in an xmls file it gives the following error. UnicodeEncodeError: 'ascii' codec can't encode characters in position 0-4: ordinal not in range(128) For now, I'm not using any xml writer library instead I'm opening a file "test.xml" and writing the data into it. This error is encountered by the line: f.write("\t\" + data + "\"). If I replace the above write statement with print statement then it prints the data properly on Python Shell. I'm reading the data from an excel file which is not in the UTF8,16, or 32 encoding formats. Its in some other format. cp1252 is reading the data properly. Any help in getting this data writtent oan xml would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Bob

• Prevent python from printing newline

  I have this code in Python inputted = input("Enter in something: ") print("Input is {0}, including the return".format(inputted)) that outputs Enter in something: something Input is something , including the newline I am not sure what is happening; if I use variables that don't depend on user input, I do not get the newline after formatting with the variable. I suspect Python might be taking in the newline as input when I hit return. How can I make it so that the input does not include any newlines so that I may compare it to other strings/characters? (e.g. something == 'a')

• manage.py not updating database name

  I have a Django application, and I recently changed the name of the database it is supposed to use. However, manage.py doesn't seem to be using the new database. I've doublechecked the settings.py file, and I've even added a "print settings.DATABASE_NAME" to the manage.py file, and it prints out the correct name, but still connects to the old database. For example, using ./manage.py dbshell: NewDB Password for user : Welcome to psql 8.1.11, the PostgreSQL interactive terminal. OldDB=> So as far as I can see, it's completely ignoring what's in the settings file. What could be causing this?

  Hi there. I've been trying to solve this problem for a few days now but it seems I haven't grasped the concept of recursion,yet. I have to build a program in C (recursion is a must here but loops are allowed as well) which does the following: The user inputs 2 different strings.For example: String 1 - ABC String 2 - DE The program is supposed to print strings which are combined of the ones the user has entered. the rule is that the inner order of the letters in each string (1&2) must remain.
