Essentially, I want each call to the AsyncTask to run, eventually in an infinite while loop, and update the TextView fields as I have attempted in setValues. I have tried since yesterday after asking a question which led to this code, for reference. Oh yes, I did try using the AsyncTask get() method, but that didn't work either as I found out that it is actually a synchronous call, and renders the whole point of AsyncTask useless.

• Where to put a configuration file for an Axis2 web service?

  I'd like to have my Axis2 Web Service read from a configuration file, whose name is sent as a parameter to the service. Where is the best place to put this file? And How to best access it? Examples welcome. I've checked the current directory is the Apache/Tomcat/bin file, I could put it in the parent directory, or put it into a Apache/Tomcat/conf, although this looks like it's more reserved for apache configuration itself.

• Running two wsgi applications on the same server gdal org exception with apache2/modwsgi

  I'm trying to run two wsgi applications, one django and the other tilestache using the same server. The tilestache server accesses the db via django to query the db. In the process of serving tiles it performs a transform on the incoming bbox, and in this process hit's the following error. So now tilestache requests the data through the django app and not internally.

• problem with sIFR 3 not displaying in IE just getting XXX

  I am having a problem with sIFR 3 not displaying in IE. I get 3 larges black XXX in IE yet it displays fine in Firefox. I have checked i do have the most recent version of flash installed correctly. I've installed passenger 3.0.7 via RubyGems. I've run passenger-install-apache2-module and everything went fine. I've modified configuration (load module, edit virtualhost etc.) and restarted Apache. Module is loading fine (apache does not complain). But Passenger is obviously not working: sudo passenger-status ERROR: Phusion Passenger doesn't seem to be running. How can I get it working ?   This problem already has been described mutliple times in different mailing lists, but no solution has yet been published. When one explicitely imports these components in the wsgi handler, some of them start to work somehow. Since i suspected the virtual environment, i dropped it, and manually copied all dependencies (babel, genshi, trac, ..) to one directory, and added this directory to system.path in the wsgi handler. I get exactly the same error. Since this setup is now independend from the environment, one can easily try it out on any other machine (windows or linux) running apache 2 and python 2.7. On my Windwos 7 machine, i got exactly the same problem. I zipped together the whole bundle, one can download it from http://www.xterity.de/tmp/trac-installation.zip .   I've used the directions here to successfully install Glassfish 3.0.1 on an virtualized (VirtualBox and VMWare) Ubuntu 10.10 Server instance without any real difficulty not resolved by more closely following the directions. However when I try applying them to Glassfish 3.1, I seem to keep getting stuck at section 6. "Security configuration before first startup". In particular, there are some differences I noted: 1) There are two keys in the default keystore. The 's1as' key is still there, but another named 'glassfish-instance' is also there. When I saw this, I deleted and recreated them both along with a 'myAlias' key which I was going to use where needed. 2) When turning the security on it seems like part of the server thinks it's on, but others don't. • Apache2 return 404 for proxy requests before reaching WSGI

  I have a Django app running under Apache2 and mod_wsgi and, unfortunately, lots of requests trying to use the server as a proxy. The server is responding OK with 404 errors but the errors are generated by the Django (WSGI) app, which causes a high CPU usage. If I turn off the app and let Apache handle the response directly (send a 404), the CPU usage drops to almost 0 (mod_proxy is not enabled). Is there a way to configure Apache to respond directly to this kind of requests with an error before the request hits the WSGI app? I have seen that maybe mod_security would be an option, but I'd like to know if I can do it without it. EDIT. I'll explain it a bit more. In the logs I have lots of connections trying to use the server as a web proxy (e.g. connections like GET http://zzz.zzz/ HTTP/1.1 where zzz.zzz is an external domain, not mine). This requests are passed on to mod_wsgi which then return a 404 (as per my Django app). If I disable the app, as mod_proxy is disabled, Apache returns the error directly. What I'd finally like to do is prevent Apache from passing the request to the WSGI for invalid domains, that is, if the request is a proxy request, directly return the error and not execute the WSGI app. EDIT2. Here is the apache2 config, using VirtualHosts files in sites-enabled (i have removed email addresses and changed IPs to xxx, change the server alias to sample.sample.xxx). • Conditional attribute in XML - most concise solution?

  I am tasked with setting up conditional profiling - a method of tagging chunks of XML with an attribute, which will then be used as a conditional value to extract subset of that XML. Have a look at another definition/example: DITA profiling The XML is documents that are equivalent to printed books - i.e. documents that are often looked at by a human, even if indirectly. Therefore I am looking at a few requirements here: 1. keeping the value list brief - so it doesn't affect the readability of the document 2. be able to process with standard XML tools - a space-separated list inside an attribute is still probably fine, but I'd rather not use too much regexp for this 3. be obvious for various users, including 3rd parties, which content goes where 4. Be easy to maintain going forward Therefore one easy solution is: The problem with this: 1. As the list grows the value of the attribute can be a bit verbose 2. One needs to explicitly state every value even if it's a scenario of this vs everything else Therefore I am also looking at other approaches such as: 1. Using + and - modifiers, Apache htaccess style to override the default cascading of profiling - by default all content goes everywhere and if we want to exclude a bit we just say "-kindle". It does require parsing the whole tree, is not supported by editing tools and one needs to regexp the attribute value a bit deeper... 2. Using an intermediate file to define groups of values such as "other" or "non-print", example of this in DITA. It allows concise XML as well as different grouping and values for each document but it does create a certain level of abstraction which may make it a little less obvious for a 3rd party? Altogether, if you received such XML and were tasked to process it, which option you'd rather receive? If you have any experiences like that, even in an unrelated areas such a builds, don't hesitate to comment!

For performance reasons I would like that POST requests on certain endpoint are just saved to a file without passing them to application (and to return correct HTTP return code). How to configure apache to do that? EDIT: In other words, if a POST request is for path "http://example.com/upload" then the content of the post (body) should go into a file.

  I need some kind of software to easily roll out code on new servers. I use Apache Ant for builds. However, say I want to set-up a new server fast and my Java program depends on GhostScript, if there any software that can automatically check the computer for it (and then maybe the PATH) and add it if is not there? I have already looked at Maven and Apache Ivy, however, I think these are only for .jar files (from what I saw). Thanks for any help.

• Postfix: How to apply header_checks only for specific Domains?

  Basically what I want to do is rewriting the From: Header, using header_checks, but only if the mail goes to a certain domain. The problem with header_check is, that I can't check for a combination of To: and From: Headers. Now I was wondering if it was possible to use the header_checks in combination with smtpd_restriction_classes or something similar. I've found a lot information about header_checks and multiple header fields, when searching the net. All of them basically telling me, that one can't combine two header for checking. But I didn't find any information if it was possible to only do a header check if a condition (eg. mail goes to example.com) was met. Edit: While doing some more Research I've found the following article which suggests to add a Service in postfix master.cf, use a transportmap to pass mails for the Domain to that service and have a separate header_check defined with -o. The thing is that I can't get it to work... What I did so far is adding the Service to the master.cf: example unix - - n - - smtpd -o header_checks=regexp:/etc/postfix/check_headers_example Adding the followin Line to the transportmap: example.com example: Last but not least I have two regexp-files for header checks, one for the newly added service, and one to redirect answers to the rewritten domain. check_headers_example: /From:(.*)@mydomain.ain>(.*)/ REPLACE From:[email protected]>$2 Obviously if someone answers, the mail would go to nirvana, so I have the following check_headers defined in the main postfix process: /To:(.*)<(.*)@mydomain.example.com>(.*)/ REDIRECT [email protected]$2 Somehow the Transport is ignored. Any help is appreciated. Edit 2: I'm still stuck... I couldn't find any resources on how you would do that but some people saying it wasn't possible. Edit 3: The reason I asked this question was, that we have a customer (lets say customer.com) who uses some aliases that will forward mail to a domain, let's say example.com. The mailserver at example.com does not accept any mail from an external server that come from a sender @example.com. So all mails that are written from example.com to [email protected] will be rejected in the end. An exception on example.com's mailserver is not possible. We didn't really solve this problem, but will try to work around it by using lists (mailman) instead of aliases. This is not really nice though, nor a real solution. I'd appreciate all suggestions how this could be done in a proper way.

• Subversion/Hudson/Sonar/Artifactory - too much for my little server to handle! Help!

  I have a little dedicated server. It's at a cheap price and has a simple AMD 1800+ (1.5ghz), 256mb DDR RAM, ...need I continue? And I think I'm overloading it already. I have installed the following, and it's running CentOS 5.4: Webmin Apache MySQL Subversion as an Apache module Hudson (standalone) Sonar (standalone, runs with a standalone Jetty install) Artifactory (standalone) That's pretty much it. But I'm having problems; pages are loading quite slowly. Network speed of the server is excellent, but I think I'm just running out of CPU and/or memory. A side-effect of the pages loading slowly is that sometimes Hudson times out, not being able to start Maven or contact Sonar in a certain amount of time. I think the next step to speed things up might be to move to an application server and use the WAR version of Hudson, Sonar and Artifactory together on that server. I don't know that it will help, but it just seems to make sense, especially with Sonar running on its own Jetty install and the other two probably running their own mini application servers as well. Am I correct in thinking this? Is this the right course of action? Any other tips on how to make the server run faster? I can post more data if you'd like, just let me know what else would help you answer my question. Oh, also just to cure any suspicions, I don't have any sort of virus or spyware. I protect my SSH access with DenyHosts (which has blocked 300+ brute forcers in the past few months), and I have confirmed that the top four processes in terms of memory and CPU usage are Sonar, Artifactory, Hudson, and MySQL. Edit: I just thought of another thing that I'd like you to comment on as well: Apache currently has 8 spawned slave processes, taking 42MB of ram apiece. This is not my web server. Is everything else able to function if I shut down Apache? Can you point me towards a tutorial or something on migrating Subversion from Apache into something that might work along with the other three applications, maybe even make Subversion a WAR file or something?

• rsync -c -i flags identical files as different

  My goal: given a list of files on local server, show any differences to the files with the same absolute path on remote server; e.g. compare local /etc/init.d/apache to same file on remote server. "Difference" for me means different checksum. I don't care about file modification times. I also do not want to sync the files (yet); only show the diffs. I have rsync 3.0.6 on both local and remote servers, which should be able to do what I want. However, it is claiming that local and remote files, even with identical checksums, are still different. Here's the command line: $ rsync --dry-run -avi --checksum --files-from=/home/me/test.txt --rsync-path="cd / && rsync" / me@remote:/ where: "me" = my username; "remote" = remote server hostname current working directory is '/' test.txt contains one line reading "/etc/init.d/apache" OS: Linux 2.6.9 Running cksum on /etc/init.d/apache on both servers yields the same result. The files are the same. However, rsync output is: me@remote's password: building file list ... done .d..t...... etc/ cd+++++++++ etc/init.d/ <f+++++++++ etc/init.d/apache sent 93 bytes received 21 bytes 20.73 bytes/sec total size is 2374 speedup is 20.82 (DRY RUN) The output codes (see http://www.samba.org/ftp/rsync/rsync.html) mean that rsync thinks /etc is identical except for mod time /etc/init.d needs to be changed /etc/init.d/apache will be sent to the remote server I don't understand how, with --checksum option, and the files having identical checksums, that rsync should think they're different. (I've tried with other files having identical mod times, and those files are not flagged as different.) I did run this in /, and made sure (AFAIK) that it's run remotely in /, so even relative pathnames will still be correct. I ran rsync with -avvvi for more debug info, but saw nothing remarkable. I'm wondering: is rsync still looking at file mod times, even with --checksum? am I somehow not setting up the path(s) right? what am I doing wrong?

• nginx can't see MySQL

  I have a fully working Joomla 2.5.6 install driven by a local MySQL server, but I'd like to test nginx to see if it's a faster web serving experience than Apache. \ PHP 5.4.6 (PHP54w) \ CentOS 6.2 \ Joomla 2.5.6 \ PHP54w-fpm.i386 (FastCGI process manager) \ php -m shows: mysql & mysqli modules loaded Nginx seems to have installed fine via yum, it can process a PHP-info file via FastCGI perfectly OK (http://37.128.190.241/php.php) but when I stop Apache, start nginx instead and visit my site I get: "Database connection error (1): The MySQL adapter 'mysqli' is not available." I've tried adjusting my Joomla configuration.php to use mysql instead of mysqli but I get the same basic error, only this time "Database connection error (1): The MySQL adapter 'mysql' is not available" of course! Can anyone think what the problem might be please? I did try explicitly setting extension = mysqli.so and extension = mysql.so in my php.ini to try and force the issue (despite php -m showing they were both successfully loaded anyway) - no difference. • Check if folders exist in Git repository... testing if a sub-string exists in bash with NULL as a separator

  I have a common git "post-receive" script for several projects, and it needs to perform different actions if an /app/ or /public/ folder exists in the root. Using: FOLDERS=`git ls-tree -d --name-only -z master`; I can see the directory listing, and I would like to use the RegExp support in bash to run something like: if [[ "$FOLDERS" =~ app ]]; then ... fi But that won't work if there was something like an "app lication" folder... I specified the "-z" option in the git "ls-tree" command so I could use the \0 (null) character as a separator, but not sure how to test for that in the bash RegExp. Likewise I know there is support for specifying a particular path in the ls-tree command, and could then pipe that to "wc -l", but I'd have thought it was quicker to get a full directory listing of the root (not recursive) then test for the 2 (or more) folders with the returned output.
