dynamic log4net appender name?

Let's say i have 3 smtp appenders in same log4net file whose names are: <appender name = "emailDevelopment".. /> <appender name = "emailBeta".. /> <appender name = "emailProduction".. /> Let's say i have 3 different servers(Dev, Beta, Production). Depending upon the server, i want to fire the log. In case of Development server, it would fire log from "emailDevelopment". I have a system variable in each server named "ApplicationEnvironment" whose value is Development, Beta, Production based on the server names. Now is there anyway i can setup root in log4net so that it fires email depending upon the server name. <root> <priority value="ALL" /> <appender-ref ref="email<environment name from whose appender should be used>" /> </root>

Cannot change borderColor of TD

Using JS to set the background color of a TD is fine. But, setting the border color is problematic in FF 3.0.18 although IE 6 doesn't experience this. FF is problematic in that it requires the TD element to have an attribute style initialized to border-style: solid. Without that, setting border color of a TD won't work. Is this known bug? How do I set the border color without having to set style attribute as well as the initialization value? I know another trick of setting the class attribute instead of setting the border color directly. Is this an indication that somehow TD hates having its border color set dynamically? Is this known as well? How to add handler in dynamic datatemplate

This results in a xaml parse error when the control attempts to load at runtime. I suspect that it can't find the handler "SizeChangedHandler". How can I specify this handler so that the xaml parser is happy.

Flash CS5 and dynamic textfields

I have a "shell" that started life in Flash CS3 (Flash 9, AS3) that has been since used with CS4 and now CS5. It creates TextFields in ActionScript for display (reading the content of those fields from XML). The text fields are either Myriad Pro Regular or Myriad Pro Semibold, both are embedded in the SWF from the Library (any given text field will only use one of those fonts) and using Advanced anti-aliasing. Once a FLA goes into CS5 is still has the same problem when saved back into CS4. The problem is the spacing between letters are now quite random, and the width of each text field is too wide (by about 10%). Changing the letterSpacing property (to something negative) makes this more noticeable. I read on here about Font.registerFont(MyriadPro) but that doesn't seem to be doing anything. Does anyone know how to make CS5 behave like previous versions of Flash? I'm using Flash Professional on Snow Leopard (as part of CS5 Web Premium).

How to add a dynamic library to Android?

I want to add a non-native shared library to Android so every application on the device would be able to use it. I mean using packaged classes just like a core library as if they were present in the application itself. I studied Android source code to figure out a way to add a new path to the application ClassLoader and found out that it is created during startup and there's no way to change the paths later. I can use my own ClassLoader, but all I will get after loading a class will be a reference to a Class object. This way I will be bound to work through reflection mechanism, which is slower than the native execution system. Is there any way to organise a shared library on Android?

Update frequency for dynamic favicons

I wanted to learn how to dynamically update the favicon using the Google Chrome browser and I've noticed that the browser seems to throttle how often you can update the favicon per second and that sort of makes things look sloppy. The test page I've made for this is: http://staticadmin.com/countdown.html Which is simply a scrolling message displaying the results of a countdown. I added an input field to tweak how many pixels per second are moved by the script and I've eyeballed the max to be about 5 frames per second smoothly in Google Chrome and I have not tested it in any other browsers. My question is what is the maximum frequency, are there any ways to change, is there a particular reason behind it? NOTE: I've also noticed that this value changes based on window focus as well. It seems to drop to about 1 update per second when the browser's window isn't in focus and returns to "max" when you return.

I am using JSF2.1 and Glassfish 3.1.2. However, is the following <url-pattern>/javax.faces.resource/*</url-pattern> the correct way to allow all resources? I only did this by looking at the url that Facelets injects into the xhtml. I have a situation where I need to, when in Radgrid Edit Mode and user makes a selection on a contained dropdownlist, display a modalPopup containing a Checkboxlist populated with data that relates to dropdownlist selection. When Selections are made on the checkboxlist, and OK button clicked, I want to return to the RadGrid Edit template, and populate a textbox in the template with the checkbox selected information. In essence for a function func() I want func.__doc__ to be a descriptor that calls a custom __get__ function create the docstring on request. Then help(func) should return the dynamically generated docstring. The context here is to write a python package wrapping a large number of command line tools in an existing analysis package. Each tool becomes a similarly named module function (created via function factory and inserted into the module namespace), with the function documentation and interface arguments dynamically generated via the analysis package.

html select option tag closes itself due to a "/" character in the dynamic value (JSP, JSTL)

The problem is that, on display there is only one OPTION in the SELECT and the rest of the order's publicId s are displayed as normal text below the SELECT box and not an OPTION to select. I found out that the publicId actually contains a String like A10/0001/0 and that is the character "/" is most probably causing the problem. Any solutions/suggestion/ideas?

perl dynamic path given to 'use lib'

So, my code (Perl scripts and Perl modules) sits in a tree like this: trunk/ util/ process/ scripts/ The 'util' directory has, well, utilities, that things in the 'process/' dir need. They get access like this: use FindBin; use lib "$FindBin::Bin/../util"; use UtilityModule qw(all); That construct doesn't care where you start, as long as you're at the same level in the tree as "util/". But I decided that 'scripts/' was getting too crowded, so I created scripts/scripts1 scripts/scripts2 Now I see that this doesn't work. If I run a script 'trunk/scripts/scripts1/call_script.pl', and it calls '/trunk/process/process_script.pl', then 'process_script.pl' will fail trying to get the routines from UtilityModule(), because the path that FindBin returns is the path of the top-level calling script. The first ten ways I thought of to solve this all involved something like: use lib $path_that_came_from_elsewhere; but that seems to be something Perl doesn't like to do, except via that FindBin trick. I tried some things involving BEGIN{} blocks, but i don't really know what I'm doing there, and will likely just end up refactoring. But if someone has some clever insight into this type of problem, this would be a good chance to earn some points!

Symfony 1.4 Layout footer glitch: Footer div is echoed out with $sf_content

I have a very simple Layout for my application. A header, the main content, and a footer. Semantically, they are rendered like this: <body> <div id = "header"> </div> <div id = "content"> </div> <div id = "footer"> </div> </body> The corresponding CSS is very basic as well: #header{ width:100%; min-height:10%; } #center{ width:100%; min-height:80%; } #footer{ width:100%; min-height:10%: } As you would know in the layout page, here is how the content is rendered: <div id= "content"> <?php echo $sf_content; ?> </div> All of the above is very fine and it renders itself as it is supposed to. But there is a glitch with this, the moment i put in <?php echo $sf_content; ?> the footer is included as part of the content and not as a div that is after the #content markup. Essentially, I get this: <div id = "header"></div> <div id = "content> <div id ="symfony_template_to_be_rendered">  </div> <div id = "footer">Footer material </div> </div> As you can see, for some weird reason, the footer moved up along with the symfony content. Clearly this is a glitch because if I remove the php hash $sf_content part from the div tags in my layouts, then the footer renders itself as and where it should be and everything takes up the required dimensions. What's going on here?

Hello, In my application, I have a char array defined which can take one of three options: "okay", "high", "low" which are then sent down a serial port to a remote device. This is my first question on StackOverflow.com and I'm not sure if this is the correct way to do this. I found a similar question titled: Modifying the Data Source for the Strongly Typed Dataset Connection String. However, the answer provided is not working for me. I'm not able to comment on it because I don't have enough "reputation points" (again, I just signed up), and I didn't want to provide an "answer", because I don't know the correct answer. My problem is that I need to be able to modify the connection string inside the generated myproject.dll.config file, but doing so has no effect for me at all. My library still uses the default connection string that was setup at design time. I've tried everything I know to try, but still no luck. I've tried working around the issue using multiple different approaches, but still the problem persists. I can't find any help on the internet with my specific problem either. It would be great if somebody could shed some light as to why my modified config file isn't being read. Useful information: I'm using a Strongly Typed DataSet I don't know the actual connection string at design time. The app.config doesn't allow me to specify a 'User' scoped connection string. I'm tied to a class library (no Windows Forms) Thank you for any help! Luc

Dynamic URL -> Controller mapping for routes in Rails

I would like to be able to map URLs to Controllers dynamically based on information in my database. I'm looking to do something functionally equivalent to this (assuming a View model): map.route '/:view_name', :controller => lambda { View.find_by_name(params[:view_name]).controller } Others have suggested dynamically rebuilding the routes, but this won't work for me as there may be thousands of Views that map to the same Controller
