  Im in the process of writing a test for a small application that follows the MVP pattern. Technically, I know I should have written the test before the code, but I needed to knock up a demo app quick smart and so im now going back to the test before moving on to the real development. In short I am attempting to test the presenter, however I cannot even get an empty test to run due to an Internal.ExpectationException. The exception is raised on a unexpected invocation of an event assignation. Here is the presenter class, public LBCPresenter(IView view, IModel model) { m_model = model; m_model.BatteryModifiedEvent += new EventHandler(m_model_BatteryModifiedEvent); } Model Interface public interface IModel { event EventHandler BatteryModifiedEvent; } And here is the test class, I can't see what im missing, ive told NMock to expect the event... • Build and test on 2.2.1 iPod Touch with XCode 3.2.2?

  I've just installed Xcode 3.2.2 with iPhone SDK 3.2 Beta 5 (Snow Leopard) This version of Xcode didn't come with any iPhone SDKs older than 3.0. But I want to create an app that runs on all devices from iPhone OS 2.2.1 - 3.1.3. I managed to add older SDKs into Xcode by downloading iPhone 3.1.3 with Xcode 3.1.4 and installing each 2.x SDK from the 'Packages' folder in the .dmg. So now I can select 2.2.1 as 'iPhone OS Deployment Target' and the 'Base SDK' as 3.1.3, and the app will build (thus letting me use 3.1.3 APIs with conditional coding whilst still running on 2.2.1 devices). But the problem is the app will not install and run on my 2.2.1 iPod Touch. Instead, Xcode tells me 'No provisioned iPhone OS device is connected'. If I bring up the Organizer, in the left column, the iPod Touch has an orange sphere next to it, instead of green, and clicking on this reveals: 'The version of iPhone OS on “iPod touch” is too old for use with this version of the iPhone SDK. Please restore the device to a version of the OS listed below' I'm not sure how to get this version of the SDK to support 2.2.1. (It needs to be this download of XCode/iPhone SDK because I also want it to be a universal binary so it runs on the iPad with a minimum of fuss).

  I need some guidance on how to use session objects with SQLAlchemy, and how to organize Unit Tests of my mapped objects. What I would like to able to do is something like this: thing = BigThing() # mapped object child = thing.new_child() # create and return a related object thing.save() # will also save the child object In order to achieve this, I was thinking of having the BigThing actually add itself ( and it's children ) to the database -- but maybe this not a good idea? One reason to add objects as soon as possible is Automatic id values that are assigned by the database -- the sooner they are available, the fewer problems there are ( right? ) What is the best way to manage session objects? Who is in charge of the session? Should it be created only when required? or saved for a long time? What about Unit Tests for my mapped objects?...how should the session be handled? Is it ever OK to have mapped objects just automatically add themselves to a database? or is that going to lead to trouble?

  I have a technical question concerning subdomains. My installation is UBUNTU 12.04 and WEBMIN for administration (using Apache web server). I am trying to create a subdomain to one IP (the domain is www.ithemis.gr and I want to create test.ithemis.gr and/or test1.ithemis.gr) with no success. I think I've tried the right way to set subdomains. The address does not resolving (I have already created DNS records via BIND). Do you have any suggestions? I am very new in server administration.   I'm putting together a Dom0 and three DomU (all Gentoo) with kernel 3.5.7 and Xen 4.1.1. Each Dom has it's own md (md0 for Dom0, md1 for Dom1 etc). I've been using a simple html page and running my code in script tags so I can log my results in the browsers' console. When experimenting with loops I sometimes cause the browser to crash. • How can I test if a point lies within a 3d shape with its surface defined by a point cloud?

  Hi I have a collection of points which describe the surface of a shape that should be roughly spherical, and I need a method with which to determine if any other given point lies within this shape. I've previously been approximating the shape as an exact sphere, but this has proven too inaccurate and I need a more accurate method. Simplicity and speed is favourable over complete accuracy, a good approximation will suffice. I've come across techniques for converting a point cloud to a 3d mesh, but most things I have found have been very complicated, and I am looking for something as simple as possible. Any ideas? • Computer Won't Boot Properly, unless in safe mode?

  I bought a computer today and booted it up, but when I did I only got a blank screen. I checked to make sure it wasn't the monitor by connecting it to my old computer...it worked. I then tried connecting my monitor to both DVI ports and found that the bottom one did work. However, now it just boots up and says "loading windows" and then when the login screen is suppose to come up the screen just goes blank and monitor says "no input, check cord" (or something like that). I tried reinstalling windows and then I was able to log on normally. I used the CD's and reinstalled all the drivers, then rebooted...now I am stuck right back where I started. I tried taking out the RAM and inserting into different slots, that didn't fix anything. I was able to boot up into windows using safe-mode. I suspected that my ATI Radeon 6950 was the issue and downloaded the drivers, but I can't install them on safe-mode. Someone said to install C++ distr. and I tried doing that to fix driver installation problem of "failed to load detection driver" but it wouldn't let me do that either. Please someone help me, I don't want to have to deal with the evil redtape of sending it back to get a replacement! • Windows 7 RC sleep on Thinkpad R51?

  I have an old Thinkpad R51 and Windows 7 just doesn't give me a Sleep option. I suspect it's because it's running the default VGA driver. The machine has an Intel 855 GME graphics adapter but there doesn't seem to be a WDDM driver available publicly. Lenovo's driver download page just says that drivers for Vista are bundled with the OS. Apparently, they aren't bundled with Windows 7 as it always defaults to a generic VGA driver. Is there a reliable way to get Sleep to work on this machine?

  Hi, I implemented a Simple STL map in C++. Factored out the comparison as a type as I was instructed to, then implemented the comparison as shown below: template <typename T> int KeyCompare<T>::operator () (T tKey1, T tKey2) { if(tKey1 < tKey2) return -1; else if(tKey1 > tKey2) return 1; else return 0; } here, tKey1 and tKet2 are the two keys I'm comparing. This worked well for all the basic data types and string. • Best way to test if a generic type is a string? (c#)

  I have a generic class that should allow any type, primitive or otherwise. The only problem with this is using default(T). When you call default on a value type or a string, it initializes it to a reasonable value (such as empty string). When you call default(T) on an object, it returns null. For various reasons we need to ensure that if it is not a primitive type, then we will have a default instance of the type, not null. Here is attempt 1: T createDefault() { if(typeof(T).IsValueType) { return default(T); } else { return Activator.CreateInstance<T>(); } } Problem - string is not a value type, but it does not have a parameterless constructor. So, the current solution is: T createDefault() { if(typeof(T).IsValueType || typeof(T).FullName == "System.String") { return default(T); } else { return Activator.CreateInstance<T>(); } } But this feels like a kludge. Is there a nicer way to handle the string case?

• Static Variables somehow maintaining state?

  I am working on an existing project, setup by another coder. I'm having some trouble understanding how state is being maintained between pages. There is a Class library which has some helper objects. Mostly these objects are just used for there static methods and rarely instantiated or inherited. This is an example class I'm testing with. public sealed class Application { public static string Test; } Now when i run something like the following in the base class of my page, I would expect the result to be "1: 2:Test" all the time (note that "1" is empty), but strangly its only this way the first time it is run. Then every time afterwards its "1:Test 2:Test". Somehow its maintaining the state of the static variable between pages and being refreshed?? • Windows XP, USB-Stick and multiple Partitions

  Hello. I've got an USB-Stick with multiple Partitions on it (FAT32 (active), FAT32, Ext2 <-- that's another story) and it seems like that my Windows XP can only mount the first partition of the stick. If I try to mount the second one using the volume manager it tells me that I need to make it active and reboot...is it really that limited or am I just missing something here? Partitions: FAT32, System Rescue CD, bootable and active FAT32, some tools ext2, some data (I know that I need extra drivers etc., but that's not asked here. Edit (Solution): Thanks to the answer with the RMB (ReMoveable Bit) I was able to dig up a solution described at this site (Section: On flash drive only the first partition works). Basically, there's an Hitachi Driver available which filters the RMB on Driver-Level, which just needs to be a little modified to function with basically every USB-Stick. All you need to do is adding the "Device Instance ID" to the driver and then use this driver.
