  • Uitableview not able to hold data

    - by pankaj
Hi i have a uitableview, i am displaying some data of about 200 rows in it. Data will be displayed in several sections which will be determined at run time. I am able to get sections but i am not able to display data for a particular section in correct order. I have data in the form of dictionaries in an array. My Code: - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { TeraGoAppDelegate *appDel = (TeraGoAppDelegate *)[[UIApplication sharedApplication] delegate]; UITableViewCell *cell = nil; if (cell == nil) { cell = [[[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewCellStyleDefault reuseIdentifier:nil] autorelease]; cell.textLabel.text = [(NSMutableDictionary *)[appDel.arrEqp objectAtIndex:countEqpIndex] objectForKey:@"EQP_NAME"]; cell.textLabel.font = [UIFont fontWithName:@"Arial" size:14]; if(![[(NSMutableDictionary *)[appDel.arrEqp objectAtIndex:indexPath.row] objectForKey:@"select"] isEqualToString:@"0"]) { cell.accessoryType = UITableViewCellAccessoryCheckmark; } else cell.accessoryType = UITableViewCellAccessoryNone; } // Set up the cell... return cell; } I am trying to use indexPath.row but its values initialises from 0 in every section I can not get data from array in this case as i dont have index of array to get data. How will i get the index of array whose values i need to display????

  • Java - Image encoding in XML

    - by Hoopla
Hi everyone, I thought I would find a solution to this problem relatively easily, but here I am calling upon the help from ye gods to pull me out of this conundrum. So, I've got an image and I want to store it in an XML document using Java. I have previously achieved this in VisualBasic by saving the image to a stream, converting the stream to an array, and then VB's xml class was able to encode the array as a base64 string. But, after a couple of hours of scouring the net for an equivalent solution in Java, I've come back empty handed. The only success I have had has been by: import it.sauronsoftware.base64.*; import java.awt.image.BufferedImage; import org.w3c.dom.*; ... BufferedImage img; Element node; ... java.io.ByteArrayOutputStream os = new java.io.ByteArrayOutputStream(); ImageIO.write(img, "png", os); byte[] array = Base64.encode(os.toByteArray()); String ss = arrayToString(array, ","); node.setTextContent(ss); ... private static String arrayToString(byte[] a, String separator) { StringBuffer result = new StringBuffer(); if (a.length > 0) { result.append(a[0]); for (int i=1; i<a.length; i++) { result.append(separator); result.append(a[i]); } } return result.toString(); } Which is okay I guess, but reversing the process to get it back to an image when I load the XML file has proved impossible. If anyone has a better way to encode/decode an image in an XML file, please step forward, even if it's just a link to another thread that would be fine. Cheers in advance, Hoopla.

  • HABTM selection seemingly ignores joinTable

    - by TheCapn
I'm attempting to do a HABTM relationship between a Users table and Groups table. The problem is, that I when I issue this call: $this->User->Group->find('list'); The query that is issued is: SELECT [Group].[id] AS [Group__id], [Group].[name] AS [Group__name] FROM [groups] AS [Group] WHERE 1 = 1 I can only assume at this point that I have defined my relationship wrong as I would expect behavior to use the groups_users table that is defined on the database as per convention. My relationships: class User extends AppModel { var $name = 'User'; //...snip... var $hasAndBelongsToMany = array( 'Group' => array( 'className' => 'Group', 'foreignKey' => 'user_id', 'associationForeignKey' => 'group_id', 'joinTable' => 'groups_users', 'unique' => true, ) ); //...snip... } class Group extends AppModel { var $name = 'Group'; var $hasAndBelongsToMany = array ( 'User' => array( 'className' => 'User', 'foreignKey' => 'group_id', 'associationForeignKey' => 'user_id', 'joinTable' => 'groups_users', 'unique' => true, )); } Is my understanding of HABTM wrong? How would I implement this Many to Many relationship where I can use CakePHP to query the groups_users table such that a list of groups the currently authenticated user is associated with is returned?

  • Refactoring Rspec specs

    - by Steve Weet
I am trying to cleanup my specs as they are becoming extremely repetitive. I have the following spec describe "Countries API" do it "should render a country list" do co1 = Factory(:country) co2 = Factory(:country) result = invoke :GetCountryList, "empty_auth" result.should be_an_instance_of(Api::GetCountryListReply) result.status.should be_an_instance_of(Api::SoapStatus) result.status.code.should eql 0 result.status.errors.should be_an_instance_of Array result.status.errors.length.should eql 0 result.country_list.should be_an_instance_of Array result.country_list.first.should be_an_instance_of(Api::Country) result.country_list.should have(2).items end it_should_behave_like "All Web Services" it "should render a non-zero status for an invalid request" end The block of code that checks the status will appear in all of my specs for 50-60 APIs. My first thought was to move that to a method and that refactoring certainly makes things much drier as follows :- def status_should_be_valid(status) status.should be_an_instance_of(Api::SoapStatus) status.code.should eql 0 status.errors.should be_an_instance_of Array status.errors.length.should eql 0 end describe "Countries API" do it "should render a country list" do co1 = Factory(:country) co2 = Factory(:country) result = invoke :GetCountryList, "empty_auth" result.should be_an_instance_of(Api::GetCountryListReply) status_should_be_valid(result.status) result.country_list.should be_an_instance_of Array result.country_list.first.should be_an_instance_of(Api::Country) result.country_list.should have(2).items end end This works however I can not help feeling that this is not the "right" way to do it and I should be using shared specs, however looking at the method for defining shared specs I can not easily see how I would refactor this example to use a shared spec. How would I do this with shared specs and without having to re-run the relatively costly block at the beginning namely co1 = Factory(:country) co2 = Factory(:country) result = invoke :GetCountryList, "empty_auth"

  • Preserve name of file using cURL to transfer files

    - by Toby
I'm transferring files from an existing http request using cURL like so... $postargs = array( 'nonfilefield' =>'nonfilevalue', 'fileentry' => '@'.$_FILES['thefile']['tmp_name'][0] ); $ch = curl_init('http://localhost/curl/rec.php'); curl_setopt($ch,CURLOPT_USERAGENT, "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.01; Windows NT 5.0)"); curl_setopt($ch,CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, true); curl_setopt($ch,CURLOPT_POST,TRUE); curl_setopt($ch,CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS,$postargs); curl_exec($ch); curl_close($ch); The only way I can get this to work is using the tmp_name, without this it won't send. However, I then lose the name value for when I want to name the file later. Is there some way to do this preserving the $_FILES array as it normally would be without curl? I'm also using an array of file fields in my script, so at the moment I have to convert my multidimensional array into a single dimension for this to work

  • Split a string by comma, quote and full-stop.. with a few exceptions

    - by dunc
I've got a lot of text, similar to the following paragraph, which I'd like to split into words without punctuation (', ", ,, ., newline etc).. with a few exceptions. Initially considered endemic to the Chalakudy River system in Kerala state, southern India, but now recognised to have a wider distribution in surrounding drainages including the Periyar, Manimala, and Pamba river though the Manimala data may be questionable given it seems to be the type locality of P. denisonii. In the Achankovil River basin it occurs sympatrically, and sometimes syntopically, with P. denisonii. Wild stocks may have dwindled by as much as 50% in the last 15 years or so with collection for the aquarium trade largely held responsible although habitats are also being degraded by pollution from agricultural and domestic sources, plus destructive fishing methods involving explosives or organic toxins. The text refers to P. denisonii which is a species of fish. It's an abbreviation of Genus species. I would like this reference to be one word. So, for instance, this is the kind of array I'd like to see: Array ( ... [44] given [45] it [46] seems [47] to [48] be [49] the [50] type [51] locality [52] of [53] P. denisonii [54] In [55] the ... ) The only things that distinguish these species references such as P. denisonii from a new sentence like end. New are: The P (for Puntius, as in the P. in the aforementioned example) is only ever one letter, always a capital the d (as in . denisonii) is always either a lower case letter or an apostrophe (') What regexp can I use with preg_split to give me such an array? I've tried a simple explode( " ", $array ) but it doesn't do the job at all. Thanks in advance,

  • Java JCheckBox ArrayList help needed

    - by user2929626
I'm new to Java and struggling with something which I'm sure must have a simple answer but I can't seem to find it. I have an array of checkbox objects defined as: ArrayList<JCheckBox> checkBoxList A JPanel is created with a grid layout and the checkboxes are added to the JPanel and the ArrayList: for (int i = 0; i < 256; i++) { JCheckBox c = new JCheckBox(); c.setSelected(false); checkBoxList.add(c); mainPanel.add(c); } Yes, there are 256 checkboxes! The panel is added to a JFrame and eventually the GUI is displayed. The user can select any combination of the 256 checkboxes. My class implements Serializable and this ArrayList of checkboxes can be saved and restored using 'Save' and 'Load' GUI buttons. My code to load the saved object is as below: public class LoadListener implements ActionListener { public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent a) { try { // Prompt the user for a load file JFileChooser fileLoad = new JFileChooser(); fileLoad.showOpenDialog(mainFrame); // Create a object/file input stream linking to the selected file ObjectInputStream is = new ObjectInputStream(new FileInputStream(fileLoad.getSelectedFile())); // Read the checkBox array list checkBoxList = (ArrayList<JCheckBox>) is.readObject(); is.close(); } catch (Exception ex) { ex.printStackTrace(); } } On loading the ArrayList object, the values of the checkboxes are correctly populated, however I want to update the checkboxes on the GUI to reflect this. Is there an easy way to do this? I assumed as the array of checkboxes had the correct values that I could just repaint the panel / frame but this doesn't work. I'd like to understand why - does my loaded array of checkbox objects no longer reflect the checkbox objects on the GUI? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

    - by user1574860
    I am using Knockout plugin. The following is my code. In this i am making getting the ceremony list from the server and then save that list in the array. But the problem is in IniitialCallForCeremonies(). The array is not initializing with the returned array from IniitialCallForCeremonies() function. function CeremonyViewModel() { var self = this; self.Ceremonies = ko.observableArray(InitialCallForCeremonies()); } $(document).ready(function () { ko.applyBindings(new CeremonyViewModel()); }); function InitialCallForCeremonies() { var request = $.ajax({ url: "address", type: "GET", async: false, dataType: "JSON" }).success(function (data) { var tempArray = new Array(); $.each(data, function (index, value) { tempArray.push(new Ceremony(value)); }); return tempArray; }); } function Ceremony(val) { this.Id = val.Id; this.Event = val.Event; this.Date = val.Date; this.Guest = val.Guest; }

  • Problem in homemade function to merge objects

    - by Eric
I'm trying to make a function that merges arrays. The reason is, I have a function that supposed to get the settings of an entity, and merge them with the global defaults. //So for example, let's say globalOptions is something like this var globalOptions={opt1:'foo',opt2:'something'}; //and this is entityOptions var entityOptions={opt1:'foofoo',opt2:null}; The only difference is it has objects in objects and objects in objects in objects, so what I made was a function that loops through all objects, thinking I would later, easily be able to loop through it all. Please ignore the array thing. That is defected, but unneeded. function loopObj(obj, call, where, objcall, array) { if ($.isArray(obj) || $.isPlainObject(obj)) { for (i in obj) { if ($.isArray(obj)) { if (array) { loopObj(obj[i], call, where[where.length] = i, true); if (objcall) { call(obj[i],where, true); } } else { loopObj(obj[i], call, where+'['+i+']', false); if (objcall) { call(obj[i],where, true); } } } else { if (array) { loopObj(obj[i], call, where[where.length] = parseInt(i), true); if (objcall) { call(obj[i],where, true); } } else { loopObj(obj[i], call, where+'[\''+i+'\']', false); if (objcall) { call(obj[i],where, true); } } } } } else { return call(obj, where); } } Then I made this program to convert it: function mergeObj(a,b) { temp.retd = new Object(); loopObj(a,function (c,d) { if (c) { eval(d.replace('%par%','temp.retd'))=c; } else { eval(d.replace('%par%','temp.retd'))=eval(d.replace('%par%','b')); } },'%par%', true); return temp.retd(); } I get the error: Uncaught ReferenceError: Invalid left-hand side in assignment (anonymous function)base.js:51 loopObjbase.js:40 loopObjbase.js:31 mergeObjbase.js:46 (anonymous function)base.js:72 I know what it means, the eval returns an anonomys variable (copy of the variable), so I can't set it, only get it.

  • zend form check record no exists in database

    - by Yafa Su
    I have a form that check if email exists in the database within 2 tables. I'm using Zend_Validate_Db_NoRecordExists for both validate, but it only check the second one. Any idea why it's not working? class Application_Form_ReferUser extends Zend_Form { public $email, $freeDownload, $buyNow; public function init() { $this->setName('referUser'); $EmailExists = new Zend_Validate_Db_NoRecordExists( array( 'table' => 'referrals', 'field' => 'email' ) ); $EmailExists2 = new Zend_Validate_Db_NoRecordExists( array( 'table' => 'users', 'field' => 'email' ) ); $EmailExists->setMessage('This e-mail is already taken'); $EmailExists2->setMessage('This e-mail is already taken'); $this->email = $this->createElement('text', 'email') ->setLabel('Email') ->addValidator($EmailExists) ->addValidator($EmailExists2) ->addValidator('EmailAddress') ->setRequired(true); $this->freeDownload = $this->createElement('button', 'btn_free_download') ->setLabel('Free Download') ->setAttrib('type', 'submit'); $this->buyNow = $this->createElement('button', 'btn_buy_now') ->setLabel('Buy Now') ->setAttrib('type', 'submit'); $this->addElements(array($this->email, $this->freeDownload, $this->buyNow)); $elementDecorators = array( 'ViewHelper' ); $this->setElementDecorators($elementDecorators); } }

  • Processing data from an AJAX request

    - by Josh K
I have a PHP API I'm working with that outputs everything as JSON. I need to call one of the API methods and parse it out using an AJAX request. I am using jQuery (though it shouldn't matter). When I make the request it errors out with a "parsererror" as the textStatus and a "Syntax Error: invalid label" when I make the request. Simplified code: $.ajax ({ type: "POST", url: "http://mydomain.com/api/get/userlist/"+mid, dataType: "json", dataFilter: function(data, type) { /* Here we assume and pray */ users = eval(data); alert(users[1].id); }, success: function(data, textStatus, XMLHttpRequest) { alert(data.length); // Should be an array, yet is undefined. }, error: function(XMLHttpRequest, textStatus, errorThrown) { alert(textStatus); alert(errorThrown); }, complete: function(XMLHttpRequest, textStatus) { alert("Done"); } }); If I leave off the eval(data) then everything works fine. Well, except for data still being undefined in success. Note that I'm taking an array of objects in PHP and then passing them out through json_encode. Would that make any difference? There has been no progress made on this. I'm willing to throw more code up if someone believes they can help. Here is the PHP side of things private function _get_user_colors($id) { $u = new User(); $u->get_where(array('id' => $id)); $bar = array(); $bar['user'] = $u->stored; foreach($user->colors as $color) { $bar['colors'][] = $color; } echo(json_encode($bar)); } I have had zero issues using this with other PHP based scripts. I don't know why Javascript would take issue with it.

  • Silverstripe: outputting DataObjectManager in template include

    - by Fraser
I have followed the tutorial here http://doc.silverstripe.org/old/modules:dataobjectmanager to create a dataobjectmanager in my CMS. It's all working perfectly there however I am having an issue getting it to output in the template. My code is as follows <?php class InfoArea extends DataObject{ static $db = array( 'Title' => 'Varchar(255)', 'Content' => 'HTMLText' ); static $has_one = array( 'ResortPage' => 'ResortPage' ); public function getCMSFields_forPopup(){ return new FieldSet( new TextField('Title'), new SimpleTinyMCEField('Content') ); } } ResortPage.php ....... static $has_many = array ( "InfoAreas" => "InfoArea" ); ....... $fields->addFieldToTab("Root.Content.AdditionalInformation", new DataObjectManager( $this, 'InfoAreas', 'InfoArea', array('Title' => 'Title','Content'=>'Content'), 'getCMSFields_forPopup' )); ........ I have a template "ResortPage.ss" which has an include "ResortInfo.ss". It is from within this include file that I need to output the DataObject. I have tried the below but it doesn't output anything <% control InfoArea %> $Title $Content <% end_control %> What am I doing wrong here? Thanks

  • Retrieving Relationships from within two arrays of pointers

    - by DanF
In a portion of a program I'm working on, I need to count all the times each person has worked on projects with each other person. Let's say we have "Employee" entities and "Session" entities. In each session, there are four project types, "A", "B", "C", & "D", each a many-to-many relationship to Employees. I'm making a loop to systematically review every person a selected person has worked with. First, I put all their project types in a single array, so it's easier to loop through, but by the time I ask the last nested Project for its Employee members, I get an "unrecognized selector" error. IBOutlet NSArrayController * list; int x; for(x = 0; x < [list count]; x++){ NSArray *A = [[list objectAtIndex:x] valueForKey:@"projectAs"]; NSArray *A = [[list objectAtIndex:x] valueForKey:@"projectBs"]; NSArray *A = [[list objectAtIndex:x] valueForKey:@"projectCs"]; NSArray *A = [[list objectAtIndex:x] valueForKey:@"projectDs"]; NSArray *masterList = [[NSArray alloc] initWithObjects: projectAs, projectBs, projectCs, projectDs, nil]; int y; for(y = 0; y < [masterList count]; y++){ int z; for(z = 0; z < [[masterlist objectAtIndex:y] count]; z++){ //And now to make an Array of this employee's partners on the selected object, to run comparisons on. //I also have an array of keys for each session's teams, so that's what I'm referencing here: NSArray * thisTeam = [list objectAtIndex:y] objectAtIndex:z] valueForKey:projectKey]; This throws an exception... namely, -[_NSFaultingMutableSet objectAtIndex:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance What's wrong with that last Array creation?

  • The most efficient way to calculate an integral in a dataset range

    - by Annalisa
I have an array of 10 rows by 20 columns. Each columns corresponds to a data set that cannot be fitted with any sort of continuous mathematical function (it's a series of numbers derived experimentally). I would like to calculate the integral of each column between row 4 and row 8, then store the obtained result in a new array (20 rows x 1 column). I have tried using different scipy.integrate modules (e.g. quad, trpz,...). The problem is that, from what I understand, scipy.integrate must be applied to functions, and I am not sure how to convert each column of my initial array into a function. As an alternative, I thought of calculating the average of each column between row 4 and row 8, then multiply this number by 4 (i.e. 8-4=4, the x-interval) and then store this into my final 20x1 array. The problem is...ehm...that I don't know how to calculate the average over a given range. The question I am asking are: Which method is more efficient/straightforward? Can integrals be calculated over a data set like the one that I have described? How do I calculate the average over a range of rows?

  • Need Explanation of couchdb reduce function

    - by Alan
From http://wiki.apache.org/couchdb/Introduction_to_CouchDB_views The couchdb reduce function is defined as function (key, values, rereduce) { return sum(values); } key will be an array whose elements are arrays of the form [key,id] values will be an array of the values emitted for the respective elements in keys i.e. reduce([ [key1,id1], [key2,id2], [key3,id3] ], [value1,value2,value3], false) I am having trouble understanding when/why the array of keys would contain different key values. If the array of keys does contain different key values, how would I deal with it? As an example, assume that my database contains movements between accounts of the form. {"amount":100, "CreditAccount":"account_number", "DebitAccount":"account_number"} I want a view that gives the balance of an account. My map function does: emit( doc.CreditAccount, doc.amount ) emit( doc.DebitAccount, -doc.amount ) My reduce function does: return sum(values); I seem to get the expected results, however I can't reconcile this with the possibility that my reduce function gets different key values. Is my reduce function supposed to group key values first? What kind of result would I return in that case?

  • filtering search results with php

    - by fl3x7
Hello, Cant really find any useful information on this through Google so hope someone here with some knowledge can help. I have a set of results which are pulled from a multi dimensional array. Currently the array key is the price of a product whilst the item contains another array which contains all the product details. key=>Item(name=>test, foo=>bar) So currently when I list the items I just order by the key, smallest first and it lists the products smallest price first. However I want to build on this so that when a user sees the results they can choose other ordering options like list all products by a name, certain manufacturer, colour, x ,y ,z etc etc from a drop down box(or something similar) This is where I need some guidance. Im just not sure how to go about it or best practise or anything. The only way I can think of is to order all the items by the nested array eg by the name, manufacturer etc. but how do I do that in PHP? Hope you understand what im trying to achieve(if not just ask). Any help on this with ideas, approaches or examples would be great. Thanks for reading p.s Im using PHP5

  • strange doctrine update problem

    - by larryzhao
Hi, guys, I have a simple table like following: class SnookerCurrentInfo extends Doctrine_Record { public function setTableDefinition() { $this->hasColumn('current_frame_id', 'integer', 4, array('notnull' => 'false')); $this->hasColumn('current_player_id', 'integer', 4, array('notnull' => 'false')); $this->hasColumn('current_score1', 'integer', 4, array('notnull' => 'false')); $this->hasColumn('current_score2', 'integer', 4, array('notnull' => 'false')); } public function setUp(){ $this->setTableName('snooker_current_info'); } } and I would like to keep only one entry in this table. So every time the value is changed I read the entry with id = 1 out and change the object and execute save. like the following: $info = Doctrine::getTable('SnookerCurrentInfo')->find(1); $info->current_frame_id = $jsonInfo['current_frame_id']; $info->current_player_id = $jsonInfo['current_player_id']; $info->current_score1 = $jsonInfo['current_score1']; $info->current_score2 = $jsonInfo['current_score2']; $info->save(); but the strange thing is, I try to make it clear. Let's say at first, the entry is (30, 1, 1, 0) and I switch player, so update the entry to (30, 2, 1, 0). and I switch the player back again, so the entry should be updated to (30, 1, 1, 0), but this is not affected to the database!! In the database, the entry still remains as (30, 2, 1, 0)!!!! But if after (30, 2, 1, 0), I update the score to (30, 2, 1, 1) and then switch the player back (30, 1, 1, 1) then this is ok. What's that? How should I deal with it? Thanks for a lot helping, really urgent!!

I know I need to use a foreach but I just cannot figure out the logic.

  • MySQLi Wrapper -- will this slow down performance?

    - by Kerry
I found the following code on php.net. I'm trying to write a wrapper for the MySQLi library to make things incredibly simple. If this is going to slow down performance, I'll skip it and find another way, if this works, then I'll do that. I have a single query function, if someone passes in more than one variable, I assume the function has to be prepared. The function that I would use to pass in an array to mysqli_stmt_bind_param is call_user_func_array, I have a feeling that is going to slow things down. Am I right? <?php /* just explaining how to call mysqli_stmt_bind_param with a parameter array */ $sql_link = mysqli_connect('localhost', 'my_user', 'my_password', 'world'); $type = "isssi"; $param = array("5", "File Description", "File Title", "Original Name", time()); $sql = "INSERT INTO file_detail (file_id, file_description, file_title, file_original_name, file_upload_date) VALUES (?, ?, ?, ?, ?)"; $sql_stmt = mysqli_prepare ($sql_link, $sql); call_user_func_array('mysqli_stmt_bind_param', array_merge (array($sql_stmt, $type), $param); mysqli_stmt_execute($sql_stmt); ?>

  • How to give "Share with" option while opening documents in iphone mail

I've been able to achieve the "Open with myapp" option through Mail, was wondering how can I change the option to "Share with myapp" depending upon the file types specified? This is what I've tried: <key>CFBundleDocumentTypes</key> <array> <dict> <key>CFBundleTypeName</key> <string>Document</string> <key>LSHandlerRank</key> <string>Alternate</string> <key>CFBundleTypeRole</key> <string>Owner</string> <key>LSItemContentTypes</key> <array> <string>public.data</string> </array> </dict> </array>

  • CakePHP pagination with HABTM models

    - by nickf
I'm having some problems with creating pagination with a HABTM relationship. First, the tables and relationships: requests (id, to_location_id, from_location_id) locations (id, name) items_locations (id, item_id, location_id) items (id, name) So, a Request has a Location the request is coming from and a Location the Request is going to. For this question, I'm only concerned about the "to" location. Request --belongsTo--> Location* --hasAndBelongsToMany--> Item (* as "ToLocation") In my RequestController, I want to paginate all the Items in a Request's ToLocation. // RequestsController var $paginate = array( 'Item' => array( 'limit' => 5, 'contain' => array( "Location" ) ) ); // RequestController::add() $locationId = 21; $items = $this->paginate('Item', array( "Location.id" => $locationId )); And this is failing, because it is generating this SQL: SELECT COUNT(*) AS count FROM items Item WHERE Location.id = 21 I can't figure out how to make it actually use the "contain" argument of $paginate... Any ideas?

  • PHP and use of the Num_Of_Rows() function?

    - by Michael Smith
    Below is some PHP code that i have written, the problem occurs when it gets to the use of the num_of_rows(), it just does not seem to work and i cant figure out why? <?php try { $divMon_ID = array(); $divMon_Position = array(); $divMon_Width = array(); $divMon_Div = array(); $db = new PDO('sqlite:db/EVENTS.sqlite'); $result_mon = $db->query('SELECT * FROM Monday'); $totalRows = mysql_num_rows($result_mon); //for($counter=1; $counter<=10; $counter+=1) //{ //<div id="event_1" style="position:absolute; left: 0px; top:-39px; width:100px; font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size:small; border:2px blue solid; height:93px"> //$divMon_ID[]=$row['Id']; //$divMon_Position[]=$row['Origin']; //$divMon_P[]=$row['Position']; //} } catch(PDOException $e) { print 'Exception : '.$e->getMessage(); } ? I know that it is the "$totalRows = mysql_num_rows($result_mon);" statement because when i then comment it out, the page can load. Am i using the function in the wrong way? Thanks.

  • SPARC T4-4 Beats 8-CPU IBM POWER7 on TPC-H @3000GB Benchmark

    - by Brian
Oracle's SPARC T4-4 server delivered a world record TPC-H @3000GB benchmark result for systems with four processors. This result beats eight processor results from IBM (POWER7) and HP (x86). The SPARC T4-4 server also delivered better performance per core than these eight processor systems from IBM and HP. Comparisons below are based upon system to system comparisons, highlighting Oracle's complete software and hardware solution. This database world record result used Oracle's Sun Storage 2540-M2 arrays (rotating disk) connected to a SPARC T4-4 server running Oracle Solaris 11 and Oracle Database 11g Release 2 demonstrating the power of Oracle's integrated hardware and software solution. The SPARC T4-4 server based configuration achieved a TPC-H scale factor 3000 world record for four processor systems of 205,792 QphH@3000GB with price/performance of $4.10/QphH@3000GB. The SPARC T4-4 server with four SPARC T4 processors (total of 32 cores) is 7% faster than the IBM Power 780 server with eight POWER7 processors (total of 32 cores) on the TPC-H @3000GB benchmark. The SPARC T4-4 server is 36% better in price performance compared to the IBM Power 780 server on the TPC-H @3000GB Benchmark. The SPARC T4-4 server is 29% faster than the IBM Power 780 for data loading. The SPARC T4-4 server is up to 3.4 times faster than the IBM Power 780 server for the Refresh Function. The SPARC T4-4 server with four SPARC T4 processors is 27% faster than the HP ProLiant DL980 G7 server with eight x86 processors on the TPC-H @3000GB benchmark. The SPARC T4-4 server is 52% faster than the HP ProLiant DL980 G7 server for data loading. The SPARC T4-4 server is up to 3.2 times faster than the HP ProLiant DL980 G7 for the Refresh Function. The SPARC T4-4 server achieved a peak IO rate from the Oracle database of 17 GB/sec. This rate was independent of the storage used, as demonstrated by the TPC-H @3000TB benchmark which used twelve Sun Storage 2540-M2 arrays (rotating disk) and the TPC-H @1000TB benchmark which used four Sun Storage F5100 Flash Array devices (flash storage). [*] The SPARC T4-4 server showed linear scaling from TPC-H @1000GB to TPC-H @3000GB. This demonstrates that the SPARC T4-4 server can handle the increasingly larger databases required of DSS systems. [*] The SPARC T4-4 server benchmark results demonstrate a complete solution of building Decision Support Systems including data loading, business questions and refreshing data. Each phase usually has a time constraint and the SPARC T4-4 server shows superior performance during each phase. [*] The TPC believes that comparisons of results published with different scale factors are misleading and discourages such comparisons. TPC-H measurements are produced for customers to evaluate the performance of various DSS systems. These queries and updates are executed against a standard database under controlled conditions. Performance projections and comparisons between different TPC-H Database sizes (100GB, 300GB, 1000GB, 3000GB, 10000GB, 30000GB and 100000GB) are not allowed by the TPC. TPC-H is a data warehousing-oriented, non-industry-specific benchmark that consists of a large number of complex queries typical of decision support applications. It also includes some insert and delete activity that is intended to simulate loading and purging data from a warehouse. TPC-H measures the combined performance of a particular database manager on a specific computer system. The main performance metric reported by TPC-H is called the TPC-H Composite Query-per-Hour Performance Metric (QphH@SF, where SF is the number of GB of raw data, referred to as the scale factor). QphH@SF is intended to summarize the ability of the system to process queries in both single and multiple user modes. The benchmark requires reporting of price/performance, which is the ratio of the total HW/SW cost plus 3 years maintenance to the QphH. A secondary metric is the storage efficiency, which is the ratio of total configured disk space in GB to the scale factor. Key Points and Best Practices Twelve Sun Storage 2540-M2 arrays were used for the benchmark. Each Sun Storage 2540-M2 array contains 12 15K RPM drives and is connected to a single dual port 8Gb FC HBA using 2 ports. Each Sun Storage 2540-M2 array showed 1.5 GB/sec for sequential read operations and showed linear scaling, achieving 18 GB/sec with twelve Sun Storage 2540-M2 arrays. These were stand alone IO tests. The peak IO rate measured from the Oracle database was 17 GB/sec. Oracle Solaris 11 11/11 required very little system tuning. Some vendors try to make the point that storage ratios are of customer concern. However, storage ratio size has more to do with disk layout and the increasing capacities of disks – so this is not an important metric in which to compare systems. The SPARC T4-4 server and Oracle Solaris efficiently managed the system load of over one thousand Oracle Database parallel processes. Six Sun Storage 2540-M2 arrays were mirrored to another six Sun Storage 2540-M2 arrays on which all of the Oracle database files were placed. IO performance was high and balanced across all the arrays. The TPC-H Refresh Function (RF) simulates periodical refresh portion of Data Warehouse by adding new sales and deleting old sales data. Parallel DML (parallel insert and delete in this case) and database log performance are a key for this function and the SPARC T4-4 server outperformed both the IBM POWER7 server and HP ProLiant DL980 G7 server.
