    Hi, When login through root on HP-tru Unix server, I am trying to access a directory, it is saying "Permission Denied".. Also, an sh file is also not able to execute through same root access.. I have checked the permission of the directory as well as for sh file through ls-ltr.. It is also fine.. Root System rwx-rwx-rwx-- What could be the possible cause, and how to correct it.. Thanks.

Because the wiki has code to be run, I have to modify the user and group of wiki's files and directories, but I'm not sure about the following: 1) It is secure to change the user and group of the directory to the web server's group?   • Software for browsing/searching SQL Server transaction logs

    I'd like to know whether there is any piece of software that will allow the browsing/searching of SQL Server transaction logs (any version). We've previously used Lumigent Log Explorer against SQL Server 2000 which fulfilled our need, but the product no longer exists and Lumigent's closest replacement doesn't appear to support SQL 2008 (according to the data sheet). I've discovered something called ApexSQL Audit which may fit the bill, but I'm wondering if anyone has any experience of it, how it compares with Log Explorer, and whether there are any good alternatives out there.   • PC cannot ping another PC on my home network

    Hello, I am running Windows 7 on my PC, and I am running a Windows 2008 Server VM in Windows Virtual PC. Both machines have network connectivity. However, I cannot ping the VM from the host neither by computer name nor IP. I can ping the host machine from the VM both by computer name and IP. Is there something I need to enable on the VM to allow it to be seen by other machines on my network? Thanks!

    I'd like my web app to be able to accept direct messages via twitter. My app won't be sending our any spam, in fact it won't send out any messages at all.   • linux macvlan - stop from broadcasting hostname

    I am trying to simulate two different computers on one box, using the macvlan module (which is awesome, by the way) but I have one small problem; When I create the macvlan Ubuntu 11.10 very helpfully starts broadcasting its hostname on both interfaces, creating an amazing amount of confusion for everything that deals with hostnames. Does anyone know how to stop ubuntu from advertising its hostname on a certain interface? Thanks!

  • SBS 2008 Script to connect - disconnect backup disk?

    I want to be able to leave multiple external drives connected to an SBS 2008 server and select which drive is used as a target for the backup without physically connecting/disconnecting the drive. Windows doesn't support this and my testing confirms that if 2 drives are connected there is little to no rotation between the target drives, the backup will run to the last drive it used if it is connected. Anyone have a script that will disconnect and reconnect a physical drive? Thanks!

    Simple to explain: possibly not so simple to do. In Gimp, I have a green button GIF image: it shades from dark green to light green, against a transparent background. I would like to change it to blue, and keep the shading, so it shades from dark blue to light blue. Anyone know how I can do this? Can't find an explanation by Googling! Thanks.

  • How to change my IE start page back?

    In my registry, the entry "Start Page" under [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main] was changed to some bad url. And I found that i don't have permission to modify the [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main], only got a "everyone" user to access it. I cannot modify any entry below it even as an Admin. Could anyone help? Thanks.
