• DatagridView loses current edit on Background update

  Here's my problem : I have a DataGridView bound to a BindingList of custom objects. A background thread is constantly updating a value of these objects. The udpates are showing correctly, and everything is fine except for one thing - If you try to edit a different field while the background-updated field is being updated, it loses the entered value. • SimpleRepository auto migrations with indexes

  I am using subsonic simplerepo with migrations in dev and it makes things pretty easy but I keep running into issues with my nvarchar columns that have an index. My users table has an index defined on the username column for obvious reasons but each time I start the project subsonic is doing this: ALTER TABLE [Users] ALTER COLUMN Username nvarchar(50); which causes this: The index 'IX_Username' is dependent on column 'Username'.ALTER TABLE ALTER COLUMN Username failed because one or more objects access this column Is there any way around this issue?

  I have datagrid with list of MyPlayer objects linked to ItemsSource, there are ComboBoxes inside of grid that are linked to a list of inner object, and binding works correctly: when I select one of the item then its value is pushed to data model and appropriately updated in other places, where it is used. The only problem: initial selections are not displayed in my ComboBoxes. I don't know why..? Instance of the ViewModel is assigned to view DataContext. • OneToOne JPA / Hibernate eager loading cause N+1 select

  I created a method to have multilingual text on different objects without creating field for each languages or tables for each objects types. Now the only problem I've got is N+1 select queries when doing a simple loading.   If I do double d = 34.56; int i = (int)d; Am I not "downcasting"? OR Is this term only used in terms of classes and objects? I am confused because in this case we are "downcasting" from a bigger double to a smaller int, but in case of classes, we "downcast" from a smaller base class to a bigger derived class. Aren't these two conventions, in some sense, opposite?

• How to get a compiler warning when an IBOutlet is disconnected

  How can I have Xcode warn me if an IBOutlet of one of my objects is not hooked up to anything in a NIB? I can check that outlets are connected at runtime by adding assert(ofEveryOutlet); in awakeFromNib or viewDidLoad. But it's not as useful, or reliable, as having the compiler do the checking for me.

• how to debug "deep" crashes in Android?

  Hi All, I've been trying to debug an android crash that is occurring without a Java Stack Trace... Java Stack Trace bugs are very easy for me to fix... but this bug I'm getting seems to be crashing inside the "NDK" or whatever it is the deep internals of Android are called... I've made no modifications to the NDK btw... I just dunno what else to call that layer hehe. Anyway I'm mainly looking for advice on deep-debug methods, rather than help with this specific problem... because I doubt I can post all the source code involved... so really I just need to know how to set breakpoints at the deep layers or whatever other methods there are to trace deep-crashes to their source... so I will briefly describe the bug and then post a LogCat. I have an app with 7 Activities Activity_INTRO Activity_EULA Activity_MAIN Activity_Contact Activity_News Activity_Library Activity_More INTRO is the initiating one... it fades in some company logos... after displaying them for a set time it jumps to the EULA activity... after the user accepts the EULA, it jumps to MAIN... MAIN then creates a TabHost and populates it with the 4 remaining activities now heres the thing... when I click on say, the More tab of the TabHost, the app pauses for a few seconds and then hard-crashes... no java stack trace, but an actual ASM level trace with the registers and IP and stack... the same thing occurs no matter which tab I select, Contact, News, Library, More... all of them crash with the same hard-crash if however I set the manifest to start the app at Activity_MAIN, bypassing the INTRO and EULA, then these crashes do not occur... so something is lingering from those opening activities that is somehow hosing the TabHost'ed Activities... and I'm wondering what the hell that could be... because I'm using finish() on those activites when they need to jump... in fact here is how I'm doing it let me know if you see any bugs: when jumping from INTRO to EULA I do: //Display the EULA Intent newIntent = new Intent (avi, Activity_EULA.class);   Hi I show my business objects in a MS datagrid, containing "country", "city", "street", for example. I can set a tooltip for each column showing its content using a style, so I get the "country" as tooltip when hooverinmg over the "country" column and so on. But I did not succeed 1) to show the content of "country" when hoovering over "city" 2) to show the content of some other property (not even displayed in the datagrid) when hoovering the datagrid Any clues? Quite simple :( What is happening is that I get my data from a NSURLConnection Callback, which I parse and store it in an array and call reload data on the table view. The problem is that when cellForRowAtIndexPath is called back by the framework. The array still shows the correct count of the elements but all string objects I had stored earlier are shown as invalid. Any pointers
