  My project is in early development. I frequently delete the database and run manage.py syncdb to set up my app from scratch. Unfortunately, this always pops up: You just installed Django's auth system, which means you don't have any superusers defined. Would you like to create one now? (yes/no): Then you have supply a username, valid email adress and password. This is tedious. I'm getting tired of typing test\[email protected]\ntest\ntest\n.   I need to create Unit Tests for an ASP.NET MVC 2.0 web site. The site uses Windows Authentication. I've been reading up on the necessity to mock the HTTP context for code that deals with the HttpContext. I feel like I'm starting to get a handle on the DI pattern as well. (Give the class an attribute of type IRepository and then pass in a Repository object when you instantiate the controller.) What I don't understand, however, is the proper way to Mock the Windows Principal object available through User.Identity. Is this part of the HttpContext? Does any body have a link to an article that demonstrates this (or a recommendation for a book)? Thanks, Trey Carroll

Their length is equal to table row index, counting from 2. • ASP C# Web Developer default login, getting user ID session value

  I've used the built-in wizard in Visual Web Developer 2008 to create a simple login system. I'd like to get hold of the logged in user's ID, but I'm not sure how. Peeking in the ASPNETDB.MDF in the table aspnet_Users, the column appears to be called "UserId". I gave it a go: Response.Write("ID: " + Session["UserId"]); but it's coming up blank. How do I do this? (This is not for a live project, no need to point out the sillyness in using the wizard.) Thanks

• jQuery ajax in DotNetNuke preserving user authentication

  I want to use jQuery's ajax functionality in a DotNetNuke module I'm developing. I want the ajax call to be authenticated via DNN's membership functionality. I want the ajax response as json. How can I do this? I've looked at IWeb and IWebCF -- it's not clear to me from much Googleing and scanning the forums whether these modules would allow me to create a web service that would accept a simple post request and return json (seems like they want to do it the ASP.NET AJAX way with a generated proxy, I'd prefer to just use jQuery's AJAX call functionality). Seems you can't create a simple webmethod in a DNN module (since they are developed as User Controls (.ascx)). I could deploy an .asmx file with module, but that won't leverage DNN's authentication system. Ideas? I'm currently developing against DNN 4.9.5

• Grails: Problem with nested associations in criteria builder

  I have a frustrating problem with the criteria builder. I have an application in which one user has one calendar, and a calendar has many entries. Seems straightforward enough, but when I try to get the calendar entries for a given user, I can't access the user property (MissingMethodException). Here's the code: def getEntries(User user) { def entries = Entries.createCriteria().list() { calendar { user { eq("user.id", user.id) } } } } I have even tried the following variation: def getEntries(User user) { def entries = Entries.createCriteria().list() { calendar { eq("user", user) } } } That did not raise an exception, but didn't work either. Here's the relevant parts of the domain classes: class Calendar { static belongsTo = [user: User] static hasMany = [entries: Entries] ... } class User { Calendar calendar ... } class Entry { static belongsTo = [calendar: Calendar] ... } When Googling I came across a similar problem noted in early 2008: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GRAILS-1412 But according to that link this issue should have been solved long ago. What am I doing wrong?

• Changing postgres user password in a master-slave setup

  We have PITR setup and WAL shipping enabled. We would like to change the password for the user postgres. The process is simple enough. However, since we cannot connect to the SLAVE how would we make sure all passwords are in synch? Would temporarily disabling WAL shipping allow me to connect to the slave to change the password there? I cant seem to find documentation on a clean way to implement this password change and I don't have a test environment.

• InfoPath Repeating Group with Data from SharePoint and User Input

  I have a series of questions which are pulled from a SharePoint list and loaded into a repeating section. The section has three elements, the Question # (from SharePoint), and Question itself (from SharePoint), and a drop down box Yes/No (NOT from SharePoint)... The repeating group portion works just fine, it is pulling all Question # and Questions from the SharePoint site, but I cannot bind the drop down box (yes/no) to any sort of local data source in order to record the information. Essentially what I have is a dynamically generated form which pulls questions off a SharePoint and a user will answer Yes or No for each question. I cannot associate the Yes/No drop down with anything because it resides within a Repeating section... Thanks for any help!

I found some working examples in C, but I lack the expertise to translate them into Python, and I read the source code of several X11 pager applications (fbpanel, pypanel), but I can't seem to find what I'm looking for. Do I have to register for a signal? Using X11 or GTK? Do I have to busy-wait? I'm completely new to both X11 and GTK, so any hints/help would be greatly appreciated. • how to read a User uploaded file, without saving it to the database

  I'd like to be able to read an XML file uploaded by the user (less than 100kb), but not have to first save that file to the database. I don't need that file past the current action (its contents get parsed and added to the database; however, parsing the file is not the problem). Since local files can be read with: File.read("export.opml") I thought about just creating a file_field for :uploaded_file, then trying to read it with File.read(params[:uploaded_file]) but all that does is throw a TypeError (can't convert HashWithIndifferentAccess into String). I really have tried a lot of various things (including reading from the /tmp directory as well), but could get none of them to work. I hope the brevity of my question doesn't mask the effort I've given to try to solve this on my own, but I didn't want to pollute this question with a hundred ways of how NOT to get it done.   Hi, I've a JSP/Servlet Web App that consist of more than one servlet (and some JSPs) I need to create an new HttpSession whenever the users access servlet A, knowing that, servlet A is the home page (i.e. he access it as the first servlet/page in the application) so far so good, I can write the following code at the start of the servlet A: HttpSession session = request.getSession(false); if (session == null) { logger.debug("starting new session..."); session = request.getSession(); // other staff here } But the problem is, if the user didn't close his browser (even if he closes the tab - in firefox for instance - the session will still be open), so when he try to open my site again, the last session will be re-used (in the rage of session timeout ofcourse), and this I don't need. I need whenever he access Servlet A, he got created a brand new HttpSession. but unfortunately, he may access this servlet twice per session based on some scenario!! Please help.

  Hi, I'm trying to detect if the user has selected the "All Users" or the "Just Me" radio during the install of my program. I have a custom action setup that overrides several methods (OnCommit, OnBeforeInstall, etc.). Right now I'm trying to find out this information during OnCommit. I've read that the property I want to get at is the ALLUSERS property, but I haven't had any luck finding where it would be stored in instance/local data.   Ive got a table of thousands of products and 50 or so authenticated users. These users all show the products on their own web sites and they all require the ability to have them ordered differently. Im guesing i need some kind of seperate table for the orders which contains the product_id, user_id and order column? How do i do this the most efficiently in mysql so as to be very fast, and not slow down if i get millions of products in the database. Is it even wise to do it in mysql or should i be using some kind of other index like solr/lucene? • Limit a user to view only associated records in rails

  I have an application with three Models (Profile - SubModel - SubSubModel) chained together with has many relationships. I am trying to limit a user, after logging in, to only retrieving records that are associated with their Profile. I am very new to rails and this is what I had been trying in the Profile model has_many :submodels, :conditions => {:profile_id => self.id} but this is returning an empty data set when calling with Profile.find_by_id(1).submodels, how else could I achieve what I am trying to do. Or should I handle this in the controller or view instead, I thought it sounded well suited for the model to handle this.
