• Do null SQLite Data fields take up extra memory?

  I'm using the built in sqlite library on the Android platform. I'm considering adding several general purpose fields that users will be able to use for their own custom applications, but these fields will be blank most of the time. My question is, how much overhead will these blank fields add to my database? Do null fields even take up per record memory in sqlite? If so, how much? I don't quite understand the inner workings of a sqlite database.

  I have a ASP.NET solution in Visual Studio 2008 and I added a file identical to http://plugins.jquery.com/files/jquery.cookie.js.txt named jquery.cookie.js in a subfolder of my project containing other javascript files and Visual Studio is treating it as a C# file, giving me errors like CS1012: Too many characters in character literal and Semicolon after method or accesssor block is not valid. • How do you search the text of changelist descriptions in Perforce?

  On occasion, I find myself wanting to search the text of changelist descriptions in Perforce. There doesn't appear to be a way to do this in P4V. I can do it by redirecting the output of the changes command to a file... p4 changes -l > p4changes.txt ...(the -l switch tells it to dump the full text of the changelist descriptions) and then searching the file, but this is rather cumbersome. Has anyone found a better way?

• Console output spits out Chinese(?) characters

  This is a real shot in the dark, however maybe someone had a similar issue. Some console apps are being invoked by either SQL Server 2008, or Autosys (job schedule) under Windows Server 2008; output results of execution are being saved into .txt files. Every so often, with no definite pattern as far as I can tell saved output is displayed as a series of what I presume are Chinese characters. Have anyone encountered phenomenon above?

  I'm trying to have rails send the contents of my database to an external textfile. I wanted this done everytime a new user is created. However, when i try to do the following in my user.rb model file, before_save :write_data def write_data() File.open("data.txt", "w") do |myfile| myfile.write(User.all) end end It doesn't write the actual contents of the database, instead, it displays something like this User:0x109858540 Can anyone help?   How do I kill a process which is running in bash - for example, suppose I open a file: $ gedit file.txt is there any way within the command prompt to close it? This example is fairly trivial, since I could just close the window, but it seems to come up a bit, particularly when I mistype commands. • Sum and average over null values SQL Server 2008 Analysis Services

  I have a simple problem, I think, but I have googled and can't find the solution. I have a cube that has MeasureA, MeasureB and MeasureC. Not all three measures have values for each record, sometimes they can be null, it's depending if it was applicable. Now for my totals, I need to average but the average must not take nulls into account. Any help will be much appreciated. When I view the measures, the null values show as zeros.
