• A stupid question about wordpress and php

  It may seem stupid question, but i've a serious problem... if you could check out orcik.net the thumbnail images does not appear. • HTML columns or rows for form layout?

  I'm building a bunch of forms that have labels and corresponding fields (input element or more complex elements). Labels go on the left, fields go on the right. Labels in a given form should all be a specific width so that the fields all line up vertically. There are two ways (maybe more?) of achieving this: Rows: Float each label and each field left. Put each label and field in a field-row div/container. Set label width to some specific number. With this approach labels on different forms will have different widths, because they'll depend on the width of the text in the longest label. Columns: Put all labels in one div/container that's floated left, put all fields in another floated left container with padding-left set. This way the labels and even the label container don't need to have their widths set, because the column layout and the padding-left will uniformly take care of vertically lining up all the fields. So approach #2 seems to be easier to implement (because the widths don't need to be set all the time), but I think it's also less object oriented, because a label and a field that goes with that label are not grouped together, as they are in approach #1. Also, if building forms dynamically, approach #2 doesn't work as well with functions like addRow(label, field), since it would have to know about the label and the field containers, instead of just creating/adding one field-row element. Which approach do you think is better? Is there another, better approach than these two?

• Zend Framework - How do make a hierarchy without it being a module?

  Here is my specific issue. I want to make an api level which then under that you can select which method you will use. For example: test.com/api/rest test.com/api/xmlprc Currently I have api mapping to a module directory. I then setup a route to make it a rest route. test.com/api is a rest route, but I would rather have it be test.com/api/rest. This would allow me later to add others. In Bootstrap.php: $front = Zend_Controller_Front::getInstance(); $router = $front->getRouter(); $route = new Zend_Controller_Router_Route( 'api/:module/:controller/:id/*', array('module' =>'default') ); $router-addRoute('api', $route); $restRoute = new Zend_Rest_Route($front, array(), array( 'rest' )); $router-addRoute('rest', $restRoute); return $router; In application.ini: resources.frontController.moduleDirectory = APPLICATION_PATH "/modules" I know it will involve routes, but sometimes I find the Zend Framework documentation to be a little hard to follow. When I go to test.com/rest/controller/ it works how it should, but if I go to test.com/api/rest/ it tells me that my module is api and controller is rest.

• Google Chrome forgetting registration cookie immediately

  I'm having trouble with cookies on my site's registration form. When a user creates an account, PHP sets one cookie with their user id, and one cookie with a hash containing their user agent and a few other things. Both of these cookies are set to expire in an hour. This is the code that sets the cookie after creating your account $registerHash = hash( "sha512", $_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT'] . $_SERVER['HTTP_HOST'] . $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'] ); setcookie("register_user_id", $newUserID, time() + 7200, "/"); setcookie("register_hash", $registerHash, time() + 7200, "/"); The next page is a confirmation page which sends an email and then optionally lets the user go on to fill out more account information. If the user goes on to fill out more, it uses the cookie to know what account to save it to. It works correctly in Firefox and IE, but in Chrome the cookie is forgotten as soon as you go to the next page. The cookie simply doesn't exist. You can see the problem here: http://crewinyourcode.com/register/paid/ If you use Chrome, you will get a registration timeout error as soon as you try to advance past the confirmation page. However on Firefox it works fine.

  I have an array which looks something along the lines of resourceData[0][0] = "pic1.jpg"; resourceData[0][1] = 5; resourceData[1][0] = "pic2.jpg"; resourceData[1][1] = 2; resourceData[2][0] = "pic3.jpg"; resourceData[2][1] = 900; resourceData[3][0] = "pic4.jpg"; resourceData[3][1] = 1; The numeric represents the z-index of the image. Minimum z-index value is 1. Maximum (not really important) is 2000. I have all the rendering and setting z-indexes done fine. My question is, I want to have four functions: // Brings image to z front function bringToFront(resourceIndex) { // Set z-index to max + 1 resourceData[resourceIndex][1] = getBiggestZindex() + 1; // Change CSS property of image to bring to front $('#imgD' + resourceIndex).css("z-index", resourceData[resourceIndex][1]); } function bringUpOne(resourceIndex) { } function bringDownOne(resourceIndex) { } // Send to back z function sendToBack(resourceIndex) { } So given then index [3] (900 z): If we send it to the back, it will take the value 1, and [3] will have to go to 2, but that conflicts with [1] who has a 2 z-index so they need to go to three etc. Is there an easy programatical way of doing this because as soon as I start doing this it's going to get messy. It's important that the indexes of the array don't change. We can't sort the array unfortunately due to design.   I'm writing a class that holds a pointer to a parent object of the same type (think Qt's QObject system). No child should be able to kill it's parent, because I would then have pointers in my main program to destroyed objects, correct? Why might you ask? I need a way to "iterate" through all subdirectories and find all files on a platform independent level. The creation of this tree will be handled by native API's, the rest won't. Is this a good idea to start with? Thanks!

• How would I sort files to directories based on filenames?

  I have a huge number of files to sort all named in some terrible convention. Here are some examples: (4)_mr__mcloughlin____.txt 12__sir_john_farr____.txt (b)mr__chope____.txt dame_elaine_kellett-bowman____.txt dr__blackburn______.txt These names are supposed to be a different person (speaker) each. Someone in another IT department produced these from a ton of XML files using some script but the naming is unfathomably stupid as you can see. I need to sort literally tens of thousands of these files with multiple files of text for each person; each with something stupid making the filename different, be it more underscores or some random number. They need to be sorted by speaker. This would be easier with a script to do most of the work then I could just go back and merge folders that should be under the same name or whatever. There are a number of ways I was thinking about doing this. parse the names from each file and sort them into folders for each unique name. get a list of all the unique names from the filenames, then look through this simplified list of unique names for similar ones and ask me whether they are the same, and once it has determined this it will sort them all accordingly. I plan on using Perl, but I can try a new language if it's worth it. I'm not sure how to go about reading in each filename in a directory one at a time into a string for parsing into an actual name. I'm not completely sure how to parse with regex in perl either, but that might be googleable. For the sorting, I was just gonna use the shell command: `cp filename.txt /example/destination/filename.txt` but just cause that's all I know so it's easiest. I dont even have a pseudocode idea of what im going to do either so if someone knows the best sequence of actions, im all ears. I guess I am looking for a lot of help, I am open to any suggestions. • Aggregate SQL column values by time period

  I have some numerical data that comes in every 5 minutes (i.e. 288 values per day, and quite a few days worth of data). I need to write a query that can return the sums of all values for each day. So currently the table looks like this: 03/30/2010 00:01:00 -- 553 03/30/2010 00:06:00 -- 558 03/30/2010 00:11:00 -- 565 03/30/2010 00:16:00 -- 565 03/30/2010 00:21:00 -- 558 03/30/2010 00:26:00 -- 566 03/30/2010 00:31:00 -- 553 ... And this goes on for 'x' number of days, I'd like the query to return 'x' number of rows, each of which containing the sum of all the values on each day. Something like this: 03/30/2010 -- <sum> 03/31/2010 -- <sum> 04/01/2010 -- <sum> The query will go inside a Dundas webpart, so unfortunately I can't write custom user functions to assist it. All the logic needs to be in just the one big query. Any help would be appreciated, thanks. I'm trying to get it to work using GROUP BY and DATEPART at the moment, not sure if it's the right way to go about it.

• Moving Computer Player in Xcode

  I am working on a 2d game using xcode and objective-c. I am trying to make my enemy player move left if I am left of him, until he is touching my character. The same will go when I am right of him. Basically just trying to get him to move towards me. But my code to do so is not working. The next will stop the timer if my player(bluebox) and the Computer player(redbox) collide. Finally, the thing that actually tells it to go left, but only if the bluebox is left of the redbox. The getRedBoxWidth Left and getBlueBoxWidthRight are just voids that get, well, the left and right edges. If you could, please help try and solve this code. Thank You.

• A problem of a repeated parameter in the pagination links?

  The problem is that when I load page 2 for example the URL becomes: http://domain.com/index.php?restaurant-id=45&currentpage=2 And that's fine but when I get to page 3 it becomes: http://domain.com/index.php?restaurant-id=45&currentpage=2&currentpage=3 And so on, it adds one more currentpage parameter everytime a new page is loaded from the pagination links! I wonder how this problem can be fixed?   I'm very new to flash and I really have no idea what I'm doing. Thank you in advance. its giving me that error after I click a button to go to another frame. After I get the error, some buttons do not go to its destination and instead it just does nothing. • Quick introduction to Linux needed [closed]

  Hi guys! I have to get into Linux ASAP and realy mean ASAP. I have installed Cygwin but as allways - things dont go as easy as one would like. First problem i enconter was - i choose KDE package, but there is no sign of KDE files anywhere in cygwin folder. How do i run KDE windows. Currently startx fires, but all looks ugly! My desire is to download and run Qt Creator. Seems that there is no cygwin package, but downloading source and compiling is good to go. Only that i have forgoten every linux command i ever knew! :D Please - what are default commands u use on linux? What does exec do? what ./ stands for? What is directory strucutre and why there is such mess in bin folder? Thanks god - i have windows over cygwin, so downloading files is not a problem, but again -how do i unpack them in linux style and how to i build? simply issue "make" command from folder, where i extracted files? Please help!

• How to move positions within an array?

  A program that simply moves array elements. Two variables: userInputVariable and blankSpaceVariable. I have a 2D array named table. Defined as table[userInputVariable + 1][6] I am printing out this array in a table format, and the far left column is numbered by whatever number the user entered at the beginning of the program. I then ask the user where they would like to enter a blank space within the array. This blank space acts like a divider for all the other information in the array. For example, if the user enters 10 at the start for the userInputVariable, and then enters 5 for the blank space. Once printed, the numbers should go like this: 1, 2, 3, 4, --, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10. My plan has been to create a for loop and try to move all the numbers in the array back a position starting from the blank space variable. What I currently have, but does not work: for (int i = blankSpaceVariable; i < table.length - 1; i++) { table[i] = table[i + 1]; } table[blankSpaceVariable] = "--"; With my current code, the numbers go like this: 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 Tried completing this a few different ways also, but the other info within my 2D array didn't move with the numbers. So I thought that this approach can hopefully move all the info within my 2D array down, and make way for a blank section. All help is greatly appreciated!

  Let's say I have a User model, with a facebook_uid field corresponding to the user's facebook id. I want to allow the user to unlink his facebook account. Do do so, I need to set this attribute to nil. I currently see 2 ways of doing this First way : create a custom action and link to it # app/controllers/users_controller.rb def unlink_facebook_account @user = User.find params[:id] # Authorization checks go here @user.facebook_uid = nil @user.save # Redirection go here end # config/routes.rb ressources :users do get 'unlink_fb', :on => :member, :as => unlink_fb end # in a view = link_to "Unlink your facebook account", unlink_fb_path(@user) Second way : create a form to the existing update action # app/views/user/_unlink_fb_form.html.haml = form_for @user, :method => "post" do |f| = f.hidden_field :facebook_uid, :value => nil = f.submit "Unlink Facebook account" I'm not a big fan of either way. In the first one, I have to add a new action for something that the update controller already can do. In the second one, I cannot set the facebook_uid to nil without customizing the update action, and I cannot have a link instead of a button without adding some javascript. Still, what would you recommend as the best and most elegant solution for this context? Did I miss a third alternative?

  I have a web page that when I run it on a remote computer I get the message saying that remote errors cannot be viewed When I go to view it on my web server machine, I get a message saying: Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage • Most likely causes: • You are not connected to the Internet. • The website is encountering problems. • There might be a typing error in the address. What you can try: Check your Internet connection. Try visiting another website to make sure you are connected. Retype the address. Go back to the previous page. I can get to google fine, so it is not the internet connection.... But this message gives me nothing to work on. How can I get more info as to why my page is not working? I tried going to IIS Mananger and right clicking on the site and selecting browse. But my site is an HTTPS site so that does not work. Any ideas would be great.

  Javascript noob here.... I am trying to build a site that will help my kids read predefined sentences from a select group, then when a button is clicked it will display one of the sentences. Is an array the best option for this? For example, I have this array (below) and on the click of a button I would like one of these sentences to appear on the page. <script type="text/javascript"> Sentence = new Array() Sentence[0]='Can we go to the park.'; Sentence[1]='Where is the orange cat? • session_set_cookie_params on multi-domain sites

  Hi! I'm currently developing for an application (www.domain.se, .eu) where we're experiencing problems with sessions not propagating across domains. Internet Explorer is the root cause of this, as it will differentiate sessions depending on whether we're typing in "domain.se" or "www.domain.se". Due to some unfortunate redirecting, we're not able to keep the user on the same address the user typed in, instead we're always redirecting to www.domain.se on login. Needless to say, IE users can not login when typing "domain.se". To make this error go away, we implemented a function to try and set the session to be valid across all possible domains by doing the following: if($_SERVER['HTTP_HOST'] == "domain.se") { session_set_cookie_params(3600, '/', '.domain.se', true); } There are basically a few if:s that we go through depending on what address the user typed in, but the third argument stays the same. This, however, results in no-one being able to log in, regardless of domain. I've tried reading up on how session_set_cookie_params() works but to no avail. Any help is greatly appreciated!

  HI Guys I have the same issue and I am looking to solve it. Here is detail I have two web sites WebsiteA and WebSiteB (WebsiteB is not in my control, A type of black box for me.). Both websites have seprate login page I have alist of users,password of websiteB which I stored in database. I want a kind of common login page. If user is login to websiteA and he want to go to websiteB, he dont have to enter the login and password information again. I can not touch the code of websiteB. it's alredy deployed and runing. In websiteB in login form they have a Userid textbox and Password textbox and and a login Button. This butoon is not a submit button. It has a click event which calls a function to validate the user. it's not a simple post. WebsiteB has one webpage which has different frames. After login sucessfull. The pages doesnt go to any other page it remain on the same page but load the different frame. According to my knowledge. I can use httpwebrequest class. But faceing the following problem. Can not click the button. Response.Redirect does not work. It seems that WebsiteB is not storing any thing in cookies as cookies always return me a empty string I really appriciate if anyone can help me on it. How Can I use response.Redirect . • .NET List Thread-Safe Implementation Suggestion needed

  .Net List class isn't thread safe. I hope to achieve the minimal lock needed and yet still fulfilling the requirement such that as for reading, phantom record is allowed, and for writing, they must be thread-safe so there won't be any lost updates. So I have something like public static List<string> list = new List<string>(); In Methods that have **List.Add**/**List.Remove** , I always lock to assure thread safety lock (lockHelper) { list.Add(obj); or list.Remove(obj); } In Methods that requires **List Reading** I don't care about phantom record so I go ahead to read without any locking. In this case. Return a bool by checking whether a string had been added. if (list.Count() != 0) { return list.Contains("some string") } All I did was locking write accesses, and allow read accesses to go through without any locking. Is my thread safety idea valid? I understand there is List size expansion. Will it be ok? My guess is that when a List is expanding, it may uses a temp. list. This is ok becasue the temp list size will always have a boundary, and .Net class is well implemented, ie. there shouldn't be any indexOutOfBound or circular reference problems when reading was caught in updates.

• Rails app Hangs and Ruby uses 100% CPU

  I have an apache2 server running Phusion Passenger. On this machine I have two virtual hosts setup each look like this (path's are different for the 2nd virtualhost...but other directives are the same) ServerName beta.mysite.us DocumentRoot "/var/www/beta/mysite/public" <Directory "/var/www/beta/mysite/public"> RewriteEngine on AllowOverride All Options FollowSymLinks </Directory> # http://www.modrails.com/documentation/Users guide.html PassengerAppRoot "/var/www/beta/mysite" RailsEnv development PassengerMaxPoolSize 6 PassengerDefaultUser mysite # PassengerHighPerformance does come at a trade off of lack of support for mod_rewrite PassengerHighPerformance off RailsSpawnMethod conservative RailsFrameworkSpawnerIdleTime 0 RailsAppSpawnerIdleTime 0 PassengerPoolIdleTime 300 ErrorLog "/var/log/httpd/mysite-beta-error_log" CustomLog "/var/log/httpd/mysite-beta-access_log" common Apache starts fine. I can go to one of the virtualhosts and it will load Rails and work. When I go to the second virtualhost, a ruby process spawns ("Rails: /var/www/mysite/current" according to ps awuxf) and uses 100% CPU. This process never exits. At this point neither virtualhost is responsive. If I kill the the offending ruby process, another ruby process replaces it and uses 100% cpu. If I kill these processes about 5-6 times, then both virtualhosts respond but they, are somehow, running the same Rails app?! I have another virtualhost on this machine that is not setup with phusion passenger..This one never exhibits any problems. Any help / ideas would be much appreciated!
