  • Drawing a WPF UserControl with DataBinding to an Image

    Hey Everyone, So I'm trying to use a WPF User Control to generate a ton of images from a dataset where each item in the dataset would produce an image... I'm hoping I can set it up in such a way that I can use WPF databinding, and for each item in the dataset, create an instance of my user control, set the dependency property that corresponds to my data item, and then draw the user control to an image, but I'm having problems getting it all working (not sure whether databinding or drawing to the image is my problem) Sorry for the massive code dump, but I've been trying to get this working for a couple of hours now, and WPF just doesn't like me (have to learn at some point though...) And I have confirmed using the debugger that my Booking objects are being filled with the proper data... EDIT 2: Did something I should have done a long time ago, set a background on my canvas, but that didn't change the output image at all, so my problem is most definitely somehow to do with my drawing code (although there may be something wrong with my databinding too)

    hi, i have written a simple app which would speak out to the user any incoming message. Both programmes seem to work perfectly when i lauched them as two separate pgms , but on keeping them in the same project/package only the speaker programme screen is seen and the receiver pgm doesn't seem to work .     I am trying to attach a function-object to be called on destruction of a templatized class. However, I can not seem to be able to pass the function-object as a temporary. Thus when I create an object of class X, I do not have to keep an object of class writer within it, but only a pointer to Base<T> (I'm not sure if I need the <T> here, but for now its there). The problem is that I seem to have to create an object of writer and then pass it to the constructor of X rather than call it like X<int> xi(writer(); I might be missing something completely stupid and obvious here, any suggestions?

    I was trying to detect existence of a member function for a class where the function tries to use an incomplete type. The typedef is struct foo; typedef std::allocator<foo> foo_alloc; The detection code is struct has_alloc { template<typename U,U x> struct dummy; template<typename U> static char check(dummy<void* (U::*)(std::size_t),&U::allocate>*); template<typename U> static char (&check(...))[2]; const static bool value = (sizeof(check<foo_alloc>(0)) == 1); }; So far I was using incomplete type foo with std::allocator without any error on VS2008. However when I replaced it with nearly an identical implementation as template<typename T> struct allocator { T* allocate(std::size_t n) { return (T*)operator new (sizeof(T)*n); } }; it gives an error saying that as T is incomplete type it has problem instantiating allocator<foo> because allocate uses sizeof. GCC 4.5 with std::allocator also gives the error, so it seems during detection process the class need to be completely instantiated, even when I am not using that function at all. What I was looking for is void* allocate(std::size_t) which is different from T* allocate(std::size_t). My questions are (I have three questions, but as they are correlated , so I thought it is better not to create three separate questions). Why MS std::allocator doesn't check for incomplete type foo while instantiating? Are they following any trick which can be implemented ? Why the compiler need to instantiate allocator<T> to check the existence of the function when sizeof is not used as sfinae mechanism to remove/add allocate in the overload resolutions set? It should be noted that, if I remove the generic implementation of allocate leaving the declaration only, and specialized it for foo afterwards such as struct foo{}; template< struct allocator { foo* allocate(std::size_t n) { return (foo*)operator new (sizeof(foo)*n); } }; after struct has_alloc it compiles in GCC 4.5 while gives error in VS2008 as allocator<T> is already instantiated and explicit specialization for allocator<foo> already defined. Is it legal to use nested types for an std::allocator of incomplete type such as typedef foo_alloc::pointer foo_pointer; ? Though it is practically working for me, I suspect the nested types such as pointer may depend on completeness of type it takes. It will be good to know if there is any possible way to typedef such types as foo_pointer where the type pointer depends on completeness of foo. NOTE : As the code is not copy paste from editor, it may have some syntax error. Will correct it if I find any. Also the codes (such as allocator) are not complete implementation, I simplified and typed only the portion which I think useful for this particular problem.

    I am using FineUploader 4.0.8 within a MVC4 project using the jquery wrapper. Here is an example of my js code that creates a single instance of the fineUploader and is working just fine. At this time, I have the need for more than one instance of fineUploader, but each individual control doesn't know anything about the other and they're rendered as needed on a page (I've seen previous questions using a jQuery .each, which won't work here). Currently, I can't seem to correctly render any upload buttons, probably due to having an ID duplicated or something. See below for how I'm using MVC's Razor to create unique variables and html IDs for that individual instance.     I'm running a CloudFormation template in the AWS Console. Running Stack Directly I started with a template that used IAM resources, and the console prompts me to acknowledge IAM capabilities when running the stack directly. Running Stack as a child I then tried to call the same stack from a parent stack and did not receive the same prompt. The stack then failed with the message: Requires capabilities : [CAPABILITY_IAM] Research The docs indicate that I can run CF scripts in a number of ways. There's plenty of docs around CLI/API and supplying the capability parameter, but there appears to be no information about how to make sure it's applied when running through the console. http://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSCloudFormation/latest/UserGuide/using-iam-template.html IAM Resources in AWS CloudFormation Templates CF Console CLI API What I've done / What I think I've raised an issue via the forum for now, but no response (yet): https://forums.aws.amazon.com/thread.jspa?threadID=139160 I suspect this is a bug in the Console, as there doesn't appear to be any documentation of how to change the behaviour via the console and as far as I'm aware this should just work. Anyone came across the same problem, or can report that it's working fine for them?

And mysql error log shows the following InnoDB: Error: log file ./ib_logfile0 is of different size 0 5242880 bytes InnoDB: than specified in the .cnf file 0 268435456 bytes! 100118 20:52:52 [ERROR] Plugin 'InnoDB' init function returned error. 100118 20:52:52 [ERROR] Plugin 'InnoDB' registration as a STORAGE ENGINE failed. 100118 20:52:52 [ERROR] Unknown/unsupported table type: InnoDB 100118 20:52:52 [ERROR] Aborting So I commented out this line # innodb_log_file_size = 256M And it restarted mysql successfully. I wonder what's the "5242880 bytes of log file" showed in mysql error? It's the first database on InnoDB engine on this server so when and where is that log file created? In this case, how can I enable innodb_log_file_size directive in my.cnf? EDIT I tried to delete /var/lib/mysql/ib_logfile0 and restart mysqld but it still failed.     Hello, I'm using windows 7 ultimate. svchost containing DCOM Server Process Launcher Plug and Play Power services is consuming more than 50% of CPU for most of the time. I found this blog post: http://blog.hansmelis.be/2007/06/17/windows-vista-long-delay-when-switching-songs-in-media-player/ That process is associated with two services: DCOM Server Process Launcher and Plug and Play. For the Vulcans among us, all logic stops there for a second. What do those two services have to do with WMP? The answer is provided by Vista's new audio engine. The new engine supports several audio "enhancements". But for the enhancements to work, the engine needs to determine if your hardware is up to the task. And when does it check that? Each time a sound output device is accessed. That's pretty nice if you can do a hot swap of sound hardware, but I don't see me doing that anytime soon. Anyways, it does provide us with the link to the correct service because checking hardware is done by the "Plug and Play" service. One might think that deactivating each enhancement would solve the problem, but that's wishful thinking. The configuration of the enhancements is located in the properties of the sound hardware. When opening the tab, I found out that no enhancements were active. Hmmm... so why does it check the hardware? Well, it does that in case you actually enable an enhancement. To completely stop the hardware checking, you have to tick the box labelled Disable all enhancements. As soon as you do that, Vista finally understands you don't want to use them buts thats for vista. Is it the same case with windows 7 too? and I couldn't find any "Disable all enhancements" in my controlpanelsounds (mmsys.cpl). Where can I find this option in windows 7? How to solve this?

  • How do I renew a Web Server certificate in Windows Server 2008?

    The SSL certificate for my web site just expired a few days ago, and I would like to renew it. I originally issued it two years ago using my Windows 2008 Certificate Authority, and it's worked without a hitch in all that time, so I would like to renew the certificate as simply as possible to make sure that all the applications relying on that certificate continue to work. I can open an MMC instance and add the Certificates snap-in for the Local Computer. I can find the relevant certificate under Personal, but I can't renew it. When I select Renew certificate with new key I get the following message: Web Server Status: Unavailable The permissions on the certificate template do not allow the current user to enroll for this type of certificate. You do not have permission to request this type of certificate. However, I can't understand this, as I'm logged on as a Domain Admin and I'm running the MMC instance in elevated mode. I've checked the Web Server certificate template, and Domain Admins have the Enroll permission on this template. FWIW, I also tried rebooting the server. How can I renew the certificate?

    Hi, I can backup and restore databases on Microsoft SQL server Analysis Service 2008 using GUI as from Backup SSAS I want to schedule backup and restore it to another server every night. so what i did is : I scripted out the backup and restore process from the GUI. Created a new SQL server agent job in database engine and added a "Run SSAS query" step. Copied the scripts to this step.   • cfengine3 file_copy only on source side change

    I am using the 'digest' copy method for all file copy promises, because of the way we package and deploy software, I cant rely on mtime for the criteria for updating files. For various reasons, I am not employing the client-server approach with a central configuration server: rather we package and deploy our entire configuration module to each server, so from cf-engine's perspective, the source and target are local on the server it is running. The problem I am having with this approach is that the source will always update the target when they differ - which is what I want most of the time, usually because the source has been updated. However, like many other cfengine users, we are running an operational environment, where occasionally emergency fixes have to be applied immediately - meaning we don't have time to rebuild and redeploy a configuration module, and the fix will often be applied by deploying a tarball with specific changes. Of course this is problematic if cf-engine comes along 5 mintues later and reverts the changes. What we would like is to be able to make small, incremental changes to our servers, without them being reverted, until the next deployment cycle at which time the new source files would be copied. We do not consider random file corruption or mistaken changes to involve enough risk to warrant having cfengine constantly revert deployments to their source copy - the ability to deploy emergency fixes and have them stay that way until the next deployment would be of much greater value and utility. So, after all that, my question is this: is cf-engine capable of detecting whether it was the source or target that changed when the files differ, and if so, is their a way to use the 'digest' copy method but only if the source side changed? I am very open to other ideas and approaches as-well, as I am still quite new to this whole configuration management thing.

    I'm trying to route public-to-public IPs over an IPSec tunnel. However, the src IP is not "interesting" to the Cisco's IPSec engine because it doesn't appear to be getting translated to the outside IP before being evaluated by the Cisco's IPSec engine. From WEST to EAST, my public-to-public IPSec works fine: I can make a request from 192.168.0.5:any to 200.200.200.200:80 because the Vyatta does the NAT translation before the IPSec tunnel inspects the traffic, so the remote-subnet and local-subnet matches (see below). However from EAST to WEST, I see a deny in my Cisco logging buffer for Deny tcp src inside:192.168.1.5/59195 dst outside:100.100.100.100/80 which leads me to believe that the IPSec engine is not matching the encrypt_acl because the address has not been translated yet. Any ideas?     I'm trying to use TemplateLookup from Mako, but can't seem to get it to work. Layout of the test site is: /var/www main.py templates/ index.html Nginx's config is setup as: location / { fastcgi_pass 127.0.0.1:8080; fastcgi_param SERVER_NAME $server_name; fastcgi_param SERVER_PORT $server_port; fastcgi_param SERVER_PROTOCOL $server_protocol; fastcgi_param PATH_INFO $fastcgi_script_name; fastcgi_param REQUEST_METHOD $request_method; fastcgi_param QUERY_STRING $query_string; fastcgi_param CONTENT_TYPE $content_type; fastcgi_param CONTENT_LENGTH $content_length; fastcgi_pass_header Authorization; fastcgi_intercept_errors off; } Cherrypy's config has: [global] server.socket_port = 8080 server.thread_pool = 10 engine.autoreload_on = False tools.sessions.on = True A simple cherrypy setup in main.py seems to work fine. import cherrypy class Main: @cherrypy.expose def index(self): return 'Hello' cherrypy.tree.mount(Main(), '/', config='config') Now, if I modify this to use Mako's template lookup, I get a 500 error. I know it has something to do with serving static files, but I've tried over a dozen different configurations accoring to the cherrypy wiki, but none of them work.   • Sharepoint/WSS Reporting Services Integration woes

    after a number of failed attempts i seem to have successfully installed the Reporting services add-in to my WSS farm. However, I seem to be missing most of the enhanced functionality eg no report library template, no report center site template. the only additional functionality available is the report viewer web part. background: 2 server WSS 3.0 farm with CA (Central admin) WFE (web front end) and reporting services addin installed on 1, and SQL05 SP2 with Reporting services (RS) and all databases installed on other. I have a VM environment set up and have rolled this back and repeated a number of times. I have configured RS within CA and activated 'Report Server INtegration Feature'. Within the 'site settings' I have a 'Reporting Services' heading with a 'manage shared schedules' item/link, not sure if there should be other options? I was of the understanding that to view reports within sharepoint i could either create a new site using the 'report center' template or add a report library to an existing site, neither of which seems available I am at a loss as to what to do, as all online information seems to do with dealing with installation issues/errors, which i seem to have eventually got past
