  • How to return table name from stored procedure in dataset.

    I used a dataset to store 15 tables that I need at the time of loading. When i filled all the tables using stored procedure it returns me all the table but name of the table doesn't comes as that of actual table name in a database. It takes all the table with table name as Table1, Table2, Table3... I want them to be with the name as they actually are in table.   • c programming malloc question

    Hello guys, Just got query regarding c malloc() function. I am read()ing x number of bytes from a file to get lenght of filename, like ' read(file, &namelen, sizeof(unsigned char)); ' . The variable namelen is a type unsigned char and was written into file as that type (1 byte). Now namelen has the lenght of filename ie namelen=8 if file name was 'data.txt', plus extra /0 at end, that working fine. Now I have a structure recording file info, ie filename, filelenght, content size etc. struct fileinfo { char *name; ...... other variable like size etc }; struct fileinfo *files; Question: I want to make that files.name variable the size of namelen ie 8 so I can successfully write the filename into it, like ' files[i].name = malloc(namelen) ' However, I dont want it to be malloc(sizeof(namelen)) as that would make it file.name[1] as the size of its type unsigned char. I want it to be the value thats stored inside variable &namelen ie 8 so file.name[8] so data.txt can be read() from file as 8 bytes and written straight into file.name[8? Is there a way to do this my current code is this and returns 4 not 8 files[i].name = malloc(namelen); //strlen(files[i].name) - returns 4 //perhaps something like malloc(sizeof(&namelen)) but does not work Thanks for any suggestions Have tried suggested suggestions guys, but I now get a segmentation fault error using: printf("\nsizeofnamelen=%x\n",namelen); //gives 8 for data.txt files[i].name = malloc(namelen + 1); read(file, &files[i].name, namelen); int len=strlen(files[i].name); printf("\nnamelen=%d",len); printf("\nname=%s\n",files[i].name); When I try to open() file with that files[i].name variable it wont open so the data does not appear to be getting written inside the read() &files[i].name and strlen() causes segemntation error as well as trying to print the filename

    I have a 1 server with 8GB RAM and 2xQuadcore Processors. It currently has the Xen XCP installed on it, and centos6.2 x64 running on a virtual machine. I have a server control panel software that I want to use and it allows the administration via a web interface for Openvz machines. My questions are: Would this be considered bad practice? Would there be a big performance hit? Should I avoid this all together or am I going about it all wrong? Thank you in advance.

  • Is it bad practice to assign a css class for the sole purpose of finding it with jQuery?

    I'm using ASP.NET, not the newest one with that clientIdMode stuff. So, the control ids are generated and funky. There are lots of ways of passing ids around, but lately I've been assigning a 'fake' css class to the control I'm interested in. Then in a js file I use jQuery to find the control. Is this bad practice? It seems a lot like the ajaxControlToolkit's behaviorId to me... Is the behaviorId bad practice as well?

I found this article on MSDN: XamlName Grammar Which describes the grammar of a x:Name tag but doesn't tell me how to actually apply this. Clearly there is some code to validate this name at runtime but what is the easiest way to actually fix up a string with invalid characters?

    Is there any way to run higher than 1080p resolution from a Dell XPS 15/17 or HP Pavilion laptop? Specifically, I am planning to buy Dell XPS L721X or HP Pavilion dv7-7005tx with nvidia GeForce GT 650M and connect it to the Apple LED Cinema display via mini Displayport (I don't think Thunderbolt is supported on these notebooks). The idea is to get 1080p on the notebook and 2560x1440 on the main display. Only one of the montitors is active at any time. I asked Dell and they weren't of much help.

    I'm just getting started with Groovy/Grails. I added a new domain controller to my project, and generate-controller doesn't like it. There are other indications something's wrong: If I run the app no table is actually created in the database for this. I've reduced the DomainController to one String field and no constraints, just to make sure there wasn't something wrong with my specification. I also tried renaming it, just in case there was something about the original name (Privacy) that conflicted with something. I'm sure I have the correct name, and that the file is called PrivacyOptions.groovy and inside the class is also called PrivacyOptions. Here's the error: Running script /opt/local/grails/scripts/GenerateController.groovy Environment set to development Domain class not found in grails-app/domain, trying hibernate mapped classes...   • Why is 'using namespace std;' considered a bad practice in C++?

    Okay, sorry for the simplistic question, but this has been bugging me ever since I finished high school C++ last year. I've been told by others on numerous occasions that my teacher was wrong in saying that we should have "using namespace std;" in our programs, and that std::cout and std::cin are more proper. However, they would always be vague as to why this is a bad practice. So, I'm asking now: Why is "using namespace std;" considered bad? Is it really that inefficient, or risk declaring ambiguous vars(variables that share the same name as a function in std namespace) that much? Or does this impact program performance noticeably as you get into writing larger applications? I'm sorry if this is something I should have googled to solve; I figured it would be nice to have this question on here regardless in case anyone else was wondering.
