  • Prevent UIGestureRecognizer from firing selector more than once

    I utilize a UILongPressGestureRecognizer in my app. This is a continuous gesture recognizer which means it continuously fires the selector for the target it was initialized with. I would like the selector to be fired only once. I have tried to prevent further selectors being fired by setting the gesture recognizer's enabled property to Note the first time the selector is fired, but this only takes effect after the selector is fired again. How can I ensure the selector is fired only once?

  • How to create a Uri instance parsed with GenericUriParserOptions.DontCompressPath

    When the .NET System.Uri class parses strings it performs some normalization on the input, such as lower-casing the scheme and hostname. It also trims trailing periods from each path segment. This latter feature is fatal to OpenID applications because some OpenIDs (like those issued from Yahoo) include base64 encoded path segments which may end with a period. How can I disable this period-trimming behavior of the Uri class? Registering my own scheme using UriParser.Register with a parser initialized with GenericUriParserOptions.DontCompressPath avoids the period trimming, and some other operations that are also undesirable for OpenID. But I cannot register a new parser for existing schemes like HTTP and HTTPS, which I must do for OpenIDs. The Uri instance reports https instead of httpsx everywhere -- except the Uri.Scheme property itself. That's a problem when you pass this Uri instance to the HttpWebRequest to send a request to this address. Apparently it checks the Scheme property and doesn't recognize it as 'https' because it just sends plaintext to the 443 port instead of SSL. I'm happy for any solution that: Preserves trailing periods in path segments in Uri.Path Includes these periods in outgoing HTTP requests. Ideally works with under ASP.NET medium trust (but not absolutely necessary).

So say I have a chart which measures test scores, ranges which 0 to 100 which 70% being the pass mark and therefore displaying a straight line across the chart at this point? In my case, I need to make it so that adding/removing elements in a collection does not update the version number of the entity (so for example, adding a Product to a Store without changing any of Store's properties will not increment the version number).

  • SignalR recording when a Web Page has closed

    I am using MassTransit request and response with SignalR. The web site makes a request to a windows service that creates a file. When the file has been created the windows service will send a response message back to the web site. The web site will open the file and make it available for the users to see. I want to handle the scenario where the user closes the web page before the file is created. In that case I want the created file to be emailed to them. Regardless of whether the user has closed the web page or not, the message handler for the response message will be run. What I want to be able to do is have some way of knowing within the response message handler that the web page has been closed. This is what I have done already. It doesnt work but it does illustrate my thinking. On the web page I have $(window).unload(function () { if (event.clientY < 0) { // $.connection.hub.stop(); $.connection.exportcreate.setIsDisconnected(); } }); exportcreate is my Hub name. In setIsDisconnected would I set a property on Caller? Lets say I successfully set a property to indicate that the web page has been closed. How do I find out that value in the response message handler. This is what it does now protected void BasicResponseHandler(BasicResponse message) { string groupName = CorrelationIdGroupName(message.CorrelationId); GetClients()[groupName].display(message.ExportGuid); } private static dynamic GetClients() { return AspNetHost.DependencyResolver.Resolve<IConnectionManager>().GetClients<ExportCreateHub>(); } I am using the message correlation id as a group. Now for me the ExportGuid on the message is very important. That is used to identify the file. So if I am going to email the created file I have to do it within the response handler because I need the ExportGuid value. If I did store a value on Caller in my hub for the web page close, how would I access it in the response handler. Just in case you need to know. display is defined on the web page as exportCreate.display = function (guid) { setTimeout(function () { top.location.href = 'GetExport.ashx?guid=' + guid; }, 500); }; GetExport.ashx opens the file and returns it as a response.   • Prevent diagonal scrolling in UIScrollView?

    How can I force a UIScrollView in which paging and scrolling are on to move vertically or horizontally only? My understanding is that the directionalLockEnabled property should achieve this, but a diagonal swipe still causes the view to scroll diagonally instead of restricting motion to a single axis. Edit: to be clearer, I'd like to allow the user to scroll horizontally OR vertically, but not both simultaneously.

  • How to make and use first object in Objective C to store sender tag

    I started with a sample program that simply sets up a UIView with some buttons on it. Works great. I want to access the sender tag from each button and save it. My first thought was to save it to a global variable but I couldn't get it to work right. I thought the best way would be to create an object with one property and synthesize it so I can get or set it as needed. First, I created GlobalGem.h: #import <Foundation/Foundation.h> @interface GlobalGem : NSObject { int gemTag; } @property int gemTag; -(void) print; @end Then I created GlobalGem.m: #import "GlobalGem.h" @implementation GlobalGem @synthesize gemTag; -(void) print { NSLog(@"gemTag value is %i", gemTag); } @end The sample code I worked from doesn't do anything I can see in "main" where the program initializes. They just have their methods and are set up to handle IBOutlet actions. I want to use this object in the IBOutlet methods. But I don't know where to create the object. In the viewDidLoad, I tried this: GlobalGem *aGem = [[GlobalGem alloc]init]; [aGem print]; I added reference to the .h file of course. The print method works. In the nslog I get "gemTag value is 0". But now I want to use the instance aGem in some of the IBOutlet actions. For instance, if I put this same method in one of the outlet actions like this: - (IBAction)touchButton:(id)sender { [aGem print]; } ...I get a build error saying that "aGem is undeclared". Yes, I'm new to objective c and am very confused. Is the instance I created, aGem, in the viewDidLoad not accessible outside of that method? How would I create an instance of a Class that I can store a variable value that any of the IBOutlet methods can access? All the buttons need to be able to store their sender tag in the instance aGem and I'm stuck. As I mentioned earlier, I was able to write the sender tag to a global variable I declared in the UIView .h file that came with the program, but I ran into issues using it. Where am I off?

    For a few months I have been successfully using David Justices Default Button example in my SL 3 app. This approach is based on an attached property. After upgrading to SL4, the approach no longer works, and I get a XAML exception: "Unknown parser error: Scanner 2148474880" Has anyone succesfully used this (or any other) default button attached behaviours in SL4?     I can do element-to-element binding in WPF: For example, I've got a window that has a slider control and a textbox, and the textbox dynamically displays the Value property of the slider as the user moves the slider. But how do i do this across seperate windows (in the same project, same namespace) ? The reason is that my main application window containing the textbox has a menu option that will open an 'options' window containing the slider control. Thanks.

  • Stop VCL Child Controls from Inheriting Parent Popup Menu

    I have a Delphi 2007 VCL TPanel with a TPopupMenu assigned to it. There are some TEdit controls on the panel. The edits inherit the popup menu of the parent panel. I want to not allow this popup inheriting, so the edits will show the default Windows TEdit popup menu with Copy, Cut, Paste, etc., but have not found a way to do it yet. There doesn't appear to be a "ParentPopupMenu" type property to set which controls inherit it from the parent component.

I only want the selected text to be displayed when you view the page not in edit mode, but when I use the Microsoft.SharePoint.WebControls.LookupField it generates a hyperlink to the SharePoint list item (obviously bad).     What options are there for localizing an app on Google App Engine? How do you do it using Webapp, Django, web2py or [insert framework here]. 1. Readable URLs and entity key names Readable URLs are good for usability and search engine optimization (Stack Overflow is a good example on how to do it). On Google App Engine, key based queries are recommended for performance reasons. It follows that it is good practice to use the entity key name in the URL, so that the entity can be fetched from the datastore as quickly as possible. Are there any extra steps that must be performed? Is it possible to use Django i18n and l10n for Django templates while using Webapp? The Jinja2 template language provides integration with Babel. How well does this work, in your experience? What options are avilable for your chosen template language? 3. Translated datastore content When serving content from (or storing it to) the datastore: Is there a better way than getting the *accept_language* parameter from the HTTP request and matching this with a language property that you have set with each entity?
