How to enable InnoDB, which was previously disabled with skip-innodb option. Case 1: Disabled the innodb with skip-innodb option and show engines givens as below. Enable SSL with Jetty 8

Creating a Jenkins build farm in a hands-off manner?

My colleague and I have set up and run Jenkins on a KVM guest running Ubuntu 12.04 with good results for a while now. We are thinking about deploying a cluster of Jenkins CI hosts in master/slave configuration, with the libvirt slave plugin to keep our hardware count low. Our environment is strictly Linux (CentOS, Scientific Linux, Fedora, and Ubuntu). Both of us are competent in setting up large clusters. We typically use tools like cobbler + a configuration management tool (Puppet, Chef, and alike) to set up a large number of machines (physical and/or virtual) hands off (hundreds of nodes in less than an hour typical). We would like to do the same for nodes running Jenkins. But the step by step guide doesn't give us any clues in this regard. I did see a Multi-slave config plugin. But, being used to dealing with hundreds or more machines completely hands-off, clicking the UI for many machines just doesn't feel right. Can someone point to us a reference that talks about how to set up large cluster of Jenkins CI hosts more in the hands-off way?

Vim: How to Install Airline?

I'm just getting started with Vim. It's a fun experience, but I've found it to be kind of overwhelming. I'm trying to get this plugin installed, vim-airline, but I'm having a lot of trouble. The Installation section on the Github page simply states: copy all of the files into your ~/.vim directory Presumably, this means download the .zip, extract it, and copy all of those files into ~/.vim/. I did this, but Vim just starts up like normal, and running :help airline just gives: Sorry, no help for airline I assume that this means it isn't getting installed. Also, the statusbar remains the same. I'm new to Vim and would really like to get this working. Thanks in advance! EDIT: I also tried putting the files into /usr/share/vim/vim73/. No dice. EDIT 2: I ran :helptags ~/.vim/doc and now the help-page displays when I type :help airline, but I'm still not getting the plugin itself (the status bar). Vim looks the same, but it can now display the help page.

Xubuntu stuck after login

How can I debug an issue with Xubuntu 12.04 (fresh install) which just waits idle after a login for about 30 seconds? The login screen is delayed correctly. After login, I get my desktop background, but no panels or auto-starting apps. It doesn't seem to be an authentication/pam issue, because I can login without delay at the console while the graphical session is still stuck. There's no disk or cpu activity and no obvious respawning of any process when I look at htop. There's nothing obviously wrong in .xsession-errors. Most interesting errors: openConnection: connect: No such file or directory cannot connect to brltty at :0 WARNING: gnome-keyring:: couldn't connect to: /tmp/keyring-wFn4VR/pkcs11: No such file or directory ... RabbitMQ Management console not working

I have started with RabbitMQ. I have a (windows) machine on which I installed two RabbitMQ nodes as a service - I have choose the nodename, port and service name for each of them. The services are running normally (i see that they are listening in a netstat-a). I have also installed management plugin with "rabbitmq-plugins enable rabbitmq_management" and restarted both services. But the plugin isn't running - I dont see it listening in a netstat and I can't connect to the management console via browser. Any idea what could be wrong? Is there any log to see what is goind on? Can't reach server without proxy (website down from my home)

I have a website hosted on Hostinger However I am experiencing problems with my wordpress site. This is really annoying. If I understood the situation right, The server is blocking me or denying access to my own website. When I visit the site with google chrome, it returns: Oops! Google Chrome could not find Same thing happens to firefox! Firefox can't find the server but when I do a check if my site is online and working through http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/ it says that the site is working and up. Another thing, I access the website through a proxy, both on chrome and in firefox, and t works. Why is this? I have also recently installed the plugin Better Wp Security 5 days ago. Could the plugin have caused it? but I don't remember setting any IP's to be blocked. Also, this happens at random times, sometimes I can access it, sometimes it fails to reach the server. I am currently developing the site live. Was I blocked by the server for frequently refreshing the page? (duh, I'm a developer and I need to refresh to see changes.) or is this a problem with my ISP's DNS server? How can I resolve? and what are the possible fixes? Thanks in advance! -Jomar

Nginx and 1000 WordPress Installs - Optimization

Hey, I'm trying to create a rather unusual (imo) configuration where I have: nginx php-fastcgi mysql 1000 seperate WordPress installs (with WP Super Cache). Each WP install corresponds to a seperate subdomain. Furthermore, I have 1000 cron jobs being called every hour that in turn call a WP plugin (using wget) which retrieves data from an API and posts it to the respective blog. This is all being run on a virtual server with 1024MB of RAM, 4 shared processors, etc. The server is not doing well, especially during the times that the cron jobs are being executed. Nginx constantly throws 504 errors and the site has a significant lag. 1) Am I crazy for having 1000 individual WP installs? Should I be using WP-MU and will this help significantly? (I have certain plugin restrictions that I prefer having seperate installs but could switch if need be.) 2) Instead of having 1000 unique cron jobs - should be calling say a bash script that will then process the 1000 HTTP requests I need? Could this be done in a succesive order instead of a sequential one? 3) Any other kind of suggestion you may have for optimization? Should I be proxying to Apache instead of just using nginx, etc. Any kind of advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

MySQL InnoDB/socket issue on Mac OS X 10.6.4

I have an ongoing issue on my Macbook Pro OS X 10.6.4. Intermittently, my MySQL install will not create a socket on startup. Rebooting sometimes, but not always, solves the problem. Deleting the ib* files in /usr/local/mysql/data and then restarting sometimes, but not always, solves the problem. My error logs tell me the following: Plugin InnoDB init function returned error Plugin InnoDB registration as a STORAGE ENGINE failed Can't start server: Bind on TCP/IP port: Address already in use Do you already have another mysqld server running on port: 3306? Aborting It then appears to attempt to start again and generates this error 20 - 30 times: Unable to lock ./ibdata1, error 35 Check that you do not already have another mysqld process using the same InnoDB data or log files Though the socket file is not created, I can connect to my MySQL db directly over localhost. Although, this does not help me from a PHP standpoint. Any thoughts on what I can do to resolve the issue or debug further? I'm at a loss as to where to go from here.

Memory leak involving jQuery Ajax requests

I have a webpage that's leaking memory in both IE8 and Firefox; the memory usage displayed in the Windows Process Explorer just keeps growing over time. The following page requests the "unplanned.json" url, which is a static file that never changes (though I do set my Cache-control HTTP header to no-cache to make sure that the Ajax request always goes through). When it gets the results, it clears out an HTML table, loops over the json array it got back from the server, and dynamically adds a row to an HTML table for each entry in the array. Then it waits 2 seconds and repeats this process. So you can't give it a query like `$("#content tbody tr")` and expect it to remove all of the elements you've specified. Any element that you remove with it must have an `id` attribute. So if I want to remove my `tbody`, then I must assign an `id` to my `tbody` tag or else it will give an error. It removes the element itself and all of its descendants, so if you simply want to empty that element then you'll have to re-create it afterwards (or modify the plugin to empty instead of remove). So here's my page above modified to use Toran's plugin. For the sake of simplicity I didn't apply any of the general performance advice offered by Peter. Can someone point me in the right direction, I don't know how to go on solving this problem, the plugin seems to support pagination, so I'm hoping to achieve that. So this is my first foray into threads and thus far it is driving me insane. My problem seems to be some kind of synchronization error that causes my consumer thread to hang. I've looked at other code and just about everything I could find and I can't find what my error is. There also seems to be a discrepancy between the code being executed in Eclipse and via javac in the command line. Intention - Using a bounded buffer (with 1000 slots) create and consume 1,000,000 doubles. Use only notify and wait. Problem - In Eclipse the consumer thread will occasionally hang around 940,000 iterations, but other times completes. In the command line the consumer thread always hangs. Installing Paperclip - "undefined method `has_attached_file` for" - Ruby on Rails

I just installed the plugin for Paperclip and I am getting an error message "undefined method has_attached_file for. Not sure why I am getting this. Here is the full error message. NoMethodError (undefined method `has_attached_file' for #<Class:0x10338acd0>): /Users/bgadoci/.gem/ruby/1.8/gems/will_paginate-2.3.12/lib/will_paginate/finder.rb:170:in `method_missing' app/models/post.rb:2 app/controllers/posts_controller.rb:50:in `show' For some reason it is referencing the will_paginate gem. From what I can find, it seems that either there is something wrong w/ my PostsController#index or perhaps a previously attempt at installing the gem instead of the plugin (in which case I have read I should be able to remedy through the /config/environments.rb file somehow). I didn't think that previous gem installation would matter as I did it in an old version of the site that I trashed before installing the plugin. In the current version of the site I show that the Table has been updated with the Paperclip columns after migration. php script gets two ajax requests, only returns one?

I'll start from the beginning. I'm building a wordpress plugin that does double duty, in that it can be inserted in to a post via a shortcode, or added as a sidebar widget. All it does is output some js to make jquery.post requests to a local php file. The local php file makes a request to a webservice for some data. (I had to do it this way instead of directly querying the web service with jquery.ajax because the url contains a license key that would be public if put in the js). Anyway, When I am viewing a page in the wordpress blog that has both the sidebar widget and the plugin output via shortcode only one of the requests work. I mean it works in that it gets a response back from the php script. Once the page is loaded they both work normally when manually told to. Webpage view - send 2 post requests to my php script - both elements should be filed in, but only one is. I'm guessing it is some sort of race condition but that doesn't make ANY sense. I'm new to all this, any ideas? EDIT: I've come up with a sub-optimal solution. I have my widget detect if the plugin is also being used on the page, and if so it waits for 3 seconds before performing the request. But I have a feeling this same thing is going to happen if multiple clients perform a page request at the same time that triggers one of the requests to my php script, because I believe the problem is in the php script, which is scary.

Spending hours fixing my function.php page and all seemed well, except Im getting errors on my rss feed at: blog.xternalit.co.uk. I leave that issue to rest and installed wordpress iphone app. The connection to my blog works perfect with wordpress' default theme. Ha! But it keeps making me resetting my password. So hell with that. Switched back to my theme and I cant connect from app to blog. Ok, I'm frustrated! I've hunted around for a good number of hours and am still stumped. Environment: WinXP, Eclipse Galileo 3.5 (straight install - no extra plugins). So, I have a simple JUnit test. It runs fine from it's internal Eclipse JUnit run configuration. This class has no dependencies on anything.
