• In silverlight how do you scrub a string

  I have a string that looks like this " Into" and I can't figure out what the " " value is just before the Into. It's not a space, it's not an enter. At least i don't think so. I've tried doing a replace to get rid of it.. So now i'm just trying to figure out what that character value is. Convert.int32 doesn't get it done... What can i use to get rid of that character... I guess i could write a function that would loop through the alphabet and do it that way.. but figured there was a better way. thanks shannon

• Why do spaces appear in my string?

  Hello all, I have this function below which returns all IDs of checked boxes on my page seperated by a comma. It works great but the problem is, it seems to put a lot of white space after each checkbox ID.   I am trying to remove a trailing - (dash) at the end of the string. Here is my code: <?php $str = 'SAVE $45! - Wed. Beach Co-ed 6s (Jul-Aug)'; echo ereg_replace('([^a-z0-9]+)','-',strtolower($str)); ?> produces this: save-45-wed-beach-co-ed-6s-jul-aug- How can I remove a specific trailing character only if its there, in this case the dash? To find their place in the list, i need to figure out if the name im inserting is earlier or later in the alphabet then those in the structures beside it. OK so I have the String lines that has 4 escaped quotation marks and I wish to replace the first quote with a quote and the end quote with a quote how would I accomplish this without replacing any of the inner quotes?

And b is also alphabetically ascending and it's spacing is 2 (99,101,103). • Need a Concatenating VBA code to prevent memory issue workaround

  My set up: Have 50,000 rows of data. ( My row count will increase in the future. So might as well say I have a full worksheet of 64000+ rows.) All Data is TEXT, no formulas, etc. Column A is open Columns B thru AC contain the Data that needs to be concatenated The Data in the rows once concatenated to Column A will contain 60,000 digits or 6kb in file size. After additional maniuplation each cell will become a file. I have tried concatenating in Excel and I run into memory issues. The memory issue is when I Select and fill down the concatenating function into the worksheet. It crashes at the 8200 +/-row. My system is 2gb of ram, windows xp professional and Excel 2003. Have 4GB of disk space Hoping to find a VBA code that will conserve memory, and not crash like it does in excel. Thank you

  How to obtain the last element of the array in Postgres? I need to do it declaratively as I want to use it as a ORDER BY criteria. I wouldn't want to create a special PGSQL function for it, the less changes to the database the better in this case. In fact, what I want to do is to sort by the last word of a specific column containing multiple words. Changing the model is not an option here. In other words, I want to push Ruby's sort_by {|x| x.split[-1]} into the database level. I can split a value into array of words with Postgres string_to_array or regexp_split_to_array functions, then how to get its last element?

• Help Fix a bug - Unexpected T_STRING

  So I have just rebuilt my server, just on local network. Stick my site back on it, try to run the code, and I get a anice T_STRING error. This is all very strange, as I have not changed the code :S <?php $window_ID = -1; if(isset($_POST["window_ID"]) AND $_POST["window_ID"] != null){ $window_ID = trim($_POST["window_ID"]); } ?> This is the start of the file, apter this rather loverly snipit of PHP the rest is just XMl, yet on line 6 appertnlty there is an unexpected T_STRING, which is strange considering all that is on that line is the ?>, then the XML starts up... Any one got any ideas what has gone wrong here? Any chance it ould be magic quotes? I had turned it of before, but I want to now update my code to check for the magic quotes and avoid its stupid actions.

Any ideas of this problem?
