Example of what I mean: index.php ------ With the ajax calls Should I have one file such as 'ajax.php' that has functions for update, delete, and edit. Or should I have update.php, delete.php, and edit.php?

I mean, I don't want to download all the bytes of the remote image -- just enough to detect if it exists. And while on the subject but with just a slight deviation, I'd like to download just enough bytes to determine a JPEG's width and height information.     From what I read so far, it sounds like these StringComparison types are meant to differ in how they do sorting of strings, if so, does that mean that it does'nt matter which StringComparison you use when doing an equality comparison? string.Equals(a, b, StringComparison....) Extra credit: does it make a difference to the answer if we compare OrdinalIgnoreCase and InvariantCultureIgnoreCase? What is the answer then? Please provide supporting argument and/or references.

    I'd like to do a bit of matrix/vector arithmetic in JavaScript, and was wondering if any browsers or other JS implementations actually have support for vectorized operations, for instance for quickly summing the entries of two Arrays (or summing, or whatever). Even if that currently doesn't mean it compiles down to vectorized operations, at least some language support would be nice for when it does get implemented - I'd take the existence of functions or syntax to support it as a step in the right direction. (Understandably, "vectorization javascript" searches are pretty much all about graphics and SVG.)

  • Disable SMS Syncing on Outlook

    I've paired up my Samsung phone with an Outlook Exchange inbox (probably Outlook 2010), and now I've got the outstanding SMS syncing feature. Only, of course, it sucks, since my inbox get's flooded with SMS's that I already have on my phone. After looking around the internet for quite a while for a option that would allow me to disable that kind of syncing, the only guide I got was designed for Windows Phone 6.x. I want desperately to disable it. Anyone has any clue of how? I can't really believe that MS has forgotten to include the option. I've already looked at this question (Filter rule for SMS / text messages in exchange active sync (SMS sync)), and while it might help me, that's not what I'm looking for.

    I recently upgraded my MacBook Pro to Snow Leopard and "git pull" returns: rakudo $ git pull git: 'pull' is not a git-command. See 'git --help' Did you mean this? shell rakudo $ git-pull -bash: git-pull: command not found I've tried reinstalling via macports, but to no avail. Then I saw this rakudo $ git --exec-path /Users/ovid/libexec/git-core That surprised me as that directory does not exist, nor has it ever existed. Google is not helping here. Hopefully you can :)

    In the .NET BCL there are circular references between: System.dll and System.Xml.dll System.dll and System.Configuration.dll System.Xml.dll and System.Configuration.dll Here's a screenshot from .NET Reflector that shows what I mean: How Microsoft created these assemblies is a mystery to me. Is a special compilation process required to allow this? I imagine something interesting is going on here.

There are a range of HP-UX 11.11 hosts I'm unable to install rsync (I'm limited to a non-privileged user) I've extracted both rsync binary and libpopt.sl, libiconv.sl, libintl.sl from the depots into one of that user's directories: /home/zenith/rsync/ Problem is, I can't get my RH Linux box communicating with it: rsync -e --rsync-path=/home/zenith/rsync/rsync --compress=9 -pgtov --filter=+rs_/'*.log' --exclude='*' [email protected]:/home/zenith/service/logs/ /u01/rsync_depot/service/192.102.14.18/ /usr/lib/dld.sl: Can't find path for shared library: libintl.sl /usr/lib/dld.sl: No such file or directory sh: 1644 Abort(coredump) I've added to the remote host .profile export SHLIB_PATH=/usr/lib:/home/zenith/rsync export PATH=$PATH:/home/zenith/rsync but still, no libintl.sl is found. How can I initialize the correct env variable/ get this to work?

  • What is the practical difference between transport and message reliability in WCF?

    I am looking at differences between using WPF in .NET or using Silverlight 4 for the GUI front end of an app that connects to WCF services. I have read that net.tcp binding in Silverlight 4 only supports transport level reliability. With a WPF desktop app we can use message level reliability. What is the actual difference? If transport level reliability ensures that all TCP packets get through, doesnt that also mean that all WCF SOAP messages will also get through?

    A linux machine is connected to internet over two interfaces ppp0 and ppp1 using two modems. Also this machine acts as wireless access point through an interface say, eth0 with ip address 192.168.1.1 and acts as gateway for the connected devices through this network with subnet mask 255.255.255.0 Now is it possible to achieve the following: When any of the connected devices through wireless AP needs internet connection linux machine has to use ppp1 interface for internet. If any of the applications on the linux machine needs internet connection linux machine should use ppp0 interface for the internet. Can this be achieved by adding rules to chains in filter/nat tables? If the kernel routing table has a default rule to route the default traffic through interface ppp0, wil kernel completely ignore ppp1 for internet? PS: new to networking and routing concepts, If the question is not clear leave a comment, will try to give more information.

    Hi, I'm trying to use the SDL_Image library and I've added the .so to the link libraries list for my project (I'm using Code::Blocks, by the way). After doing this, when I go to compile, I get this error: Linking console executable: bin/Debug/ttfx /usr/lib32/libSDL_image-1.2.so: could not read symbols: File in wrong format What does this mean and how can I get it working? I would have thought that passing a Byte into BitConverter.GetBytes would just return the Byte. I mean it's no big deal because it's only sending a very small block of data across a TCP Socket, but I'm just intrigued why it thinks it's 2 bytes.

I mean: How can they pull out those values which are merged into options? If I wanted to program something like this, that can take a bitmask, how would that look?
