• PLESK PostFix Error Local in maillog, how to troubleshoot

  I'm using the PHP mail() function, using PostFix, on CentOS6, Plesk 10.4, and my email is not getting delivered to a particular address. My personal GMail and Yahoo email addresses receive email from my server fine and do not produce errors. • Enabling JMX for proxool with tomcat

  I am trying to get proxool's MBeans available so that I can see/manipulate them with jconsole. I have jconsole working, but I don't see anything related to proxool. The system is using Sun Java 1.5.0_17 (I know, I know... I'm working with the developers to upgrade). • Diagnosing Logon Audit Failure event log entries

  I help a client manage a website that is run on a dedicated web server at a hosting company. Recently, we noticed that over the last two weeks there have been tens of thousands of Audit Failure entries in the Security Event Log with Task Category of Logon - these have been coming in about every two seconds, but interesting stopped altogether as of two days ago. In general, the event description looks like the following: An account failed to log on. Subject: Security ID: SYSTEM Account Name: ...The Hosting Account... Account Domain: ...The Domain... Logon ID: 0x3e7 Logon Type: 10 Account For Which Logon Failed: Security ID: NULL SID Account Name: david Account Domain: ...The Domain... Failure Information: Failure Reason: Unknown user name or bad password. Status: 0xc000006d Sub Status: 0xc0000064 Process Information: Caller Process ID: 0x154c Caller Process Name: C:\Windows\System32\winlogon.exe Network Information: Workstation Name: ...The Domain... Source Network Address: 173.231.24.18 Source Port: 1605 The value in the Account Name field differs. Above you see "david" but there are ones with "john", "console", "sys", and even ones like "support83423" and whatnot. The Logon Type field indicates that the logon attempt was a remote interactive attempt via Terminal Services or Remote Desktop. My presumption is that these are some brute force attacks attempting to guess username/password combinations in order to log into our dedicated server. Are these presumptions correct? Are these types of attacks pretty common? Is there a way to help stop these types of attacks? We need to be able to access the desktop via Remote Desktop so simply turning off that service is not feasible. Thanks

• Postfix character encoding?

  I use Postfix as a mailserver. I have Ubuntu OS. Then I use PHP to send emails. Problem is that none of my emails are encoded properly by a mailsoftware which my VPS provider uses. According to them, the problem lies with me. It is only the name field which isn't encoded properly. For example "Björn" becomes "Björn" in my emails. However, when I echo the $name, it outputs "Björn" which is correct. Also, gmail and hotmail does show it correctly. The strange part is that the "text" (the message itself) is encoded properly. I use the following for sending mail: $headers="MIME-Version: 1.0"."\n"; $headers.="Content-type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8"."\n"; $headers.="From: $name <$email>"."\n"; $name= iconv(mb_detect_encoding($name), "UTF-8//IGNORE//TRANSLIT", $name); //// I HAVE TRIED WITH AND WITHOUT THE LINE ABOVE, NO DIFFERENCE mail($to, '=?UTF-8?B?'.base64_encode($subject).'?=', $text, $headers, '[email protected]'); I have tried with and without the iconv line also, no luck. The last thing I can think of is POSTFIX, could there be a setting for character encoding there? Anybody knows?

• Anonymous Login attemps from IPs all over Asia, how do I stop them from being able to do this?

  We had a successful hack attempt from Russia and one of our servers was used as a staging ground for further attacks, actually somehow they managed to get access to a Windows account called 'services'. I took that server offline as it was our SMTP server and no longer need it (3rd party system in place now). Now some of our other servers are having these ANONYMOUS LOGIN attempts in the Event Viewer that have IP addresses coming from China, Romania, Italy (I guess there's some Europe in there too)... I don't know what these people want but they just keep hitting the server. How can I prevent this? I don't want our servers compromised again, last time our host took our entire hardware node off of the network because it was attacking other systems, causing our services to go down which is really bad. How can I prevent these strange IP addresses from trying to access my servers? They are Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise 'containers' (virtual machines) running on a Parallels Virtuozzo HW node, if that makes a difference. I can configure each machine individually as if it were it's own server of course... UPDATE: New login attempts still happening, now these ones are tracing back to Ukraine... • Scanning to network share

  In our environment we have several printers with the scan to folder functionality set up. It worked pretty well. Long story short- I needed to reboot our file server one evening (the server whose $hares where all the scans go), upon on boot up I received a message stating the name of the file server (i.e AcmeFS1; Windows Server 2003) could not be used because there was a duplicate name on the network. I found that somehow another printer on the network was using the name of the file server. Weird - I know. People could no longer scan to their folders. I ran an nbtstat on the file server and found that the local netbios name table was empty. I renamed the offending printer and rebooted the file server once more. This time, no error, and once I ran nbtstat again, I found that correct name and domain in the local netbios name table. Problem is, scan to folder is still not working. I know this was working before I rebooted the file server the first time. Anyone have any idea what is going on and how to fix? Thanks. FIXED: Not sure why the reboot didnt fix it but I restarted the "Server" service on the file server and the problem went away.

  I'm using @JsonTypeInfo to instruct Jackson to look in the @class property for concrete type information. However, sometimes I don't want to have to specify @class, particularly when the subtype can be inferred given the context. What's the best way to do that? Any ideas? One initial thought I had was to use @JsonTypeInfo on the property rather than the type. However, this cannot be leveraged to annotate the element type of a list.

• struts2-json-plugin not retrieving json data from action class for Struts-JQuery-Plugin grid

  Hello, Im having an issue getting json working with the struts-jquery-plugin-2.1.0 I have included the struts2-json-plugin-2.1.8.1 in my classpath as well. Im sure that I have my struts-jquery-plugin configured correctly because the grid loads, but doesnt load the data its supposed to get from the action class that has been json'ized. The documentation with the json plugin and the struts-jquery plugin leaves ALOT of gaps that I cant even find with examples/tutorials, so I come to the community at stackoverflow. My action class has a property called gridModel thats a List with a basic POJO called Customer. Customer is a pojo with one property, id. I have a factory that supplies the populated List to the actions List property which i mentioned called gridModel. There's probably something conceptual that I'm missing. Case A In one instance, I have defined a user control that presents a Label to show text. If one clicks on the label, the label (that is in a stack panel, in the user control) is replaced with a TextBox. When used at the top of a page (as in the example below with lblName) the label text is very small (around 8 points). When clicked on, the text box that replaces the label uses the specified fonts size.   Hi there, I have created a very basic wpf application that I want to use to record time entries against different projects. I havent used mvvm for this as I think its an overkill. I have a form that contains a combobox and a listbox. I have created a basic entity model like this What I am trying to do is bind the combobox to Project and whenever I select an item from the combobox it updates the listview with the available tasks associated with that project.   I am using Uploadify (http://www.uploadify.com/) to enable my users to upload images via my web application. The problem I am having is that every now and then (at what appears to be random) when the progress bar reaches 100% it 'hangs' and does nothing.   In my Android application I am getting a very strange crash, when I press a button (Image) on my UI the entire application freezes and after a couple of seconds I getthe dreaded force close dialog appearing. It seems unlikely as several other buttons do the same without issue. How about the native layer? Could some code I've built with the NDK be causing the issue? Any other ideas as to what the cause of the issue might be?

• Sharepoint 2007 - cant find my modifications to web.config in SpWebApplication.WebConfigModification

  Hi, I cant seem to find the modifications I made to web.config in my FeatureRecievers Activated event. I try to get the modifications from the SpWebApplication.WebConfigModifications collection in the deactivate event, but this is always empty.... And the strangest thing is that my changes are still reverted after deactivating the feature... My question is, should I not be able to view all changes made to the web.config files when accessing the SpWebApplication.WebConfigModifications collection in the Deactivating event? • Not your usual "The multi-part identifier could not be bound" error

  I have the following query, now the strange thing is if I run this query on my development and pre-prod server it runs fine. If I run it on production it fails. I have figured out that if I run just the Select statement its happy but as soon as I try insert into the table variable it complains. Also I have found that if I comment the following lines then the query runs with the DISTINCT what is strange is that none of the columns in the table LTCDB_admin_tbl_Deal_Components is referenced so I don't see how the distinct will affect that.
