  • PHP: Regular Expression to get a URL from a string

    - by Matthew Iselin
    I'm working on some PHP code which takes input from various sources and needs to find the URLs and save them somewhere. The kind of input that needs to be handled is as follows: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IY2j_GPIqRA Try google: http://google.com! (note exclamation mark is not part of the URL) Is http://somesite.com/ down for anyone else? Output: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IY2j_GPIqRA http://google.com http://somesite.com/ I've already borrowed one regular expression from the internet which works, but unfortunately wipes the query string out - not good! Any help putting together a regular expression, or perhaps another solution to this problem, would be appreciated.

  • Examining a lambda expression at runtime in C#

    - by Ben Aston
    I have a method Get on a type MyType1 accepting a Func<MyType2, bool> as a parameter. An example of its use: mytype1Instance.Get(x => x.Guid == guid)); I would like create a stub implementation of the method Get that examines the incoming lambda expression and determines what the value of guid is. Clearly the lambda could be "anything", but I'm happy for the stub to make an assumption about the lambda, that it is trying to match on the Guid property. How can I do this? I suspect it involves the use of the built-in Expression type?

  • AIR SQLite IN expression not working

    - by goseta
    Hi, I'm having a problem with an expression in my sql statement in SQLite for Adobe AIR basically I have this sql = "UPDATE uniforms SET status=@status WHERE customerId IN(19,20)"; updateStmt.parameters["@status"] = args[1]; updateStmt.execute(); if I run the above code it works, updating the status when the id are 19 and 20 but if I pass the ids list as a parameter like this sql = "UPDATE uniforms SET status=@status WHERE customerId IN(@ids)"; updateStmt.parameters["@status"] = args[1]; updateStmt.parameters["@ids"] = "19,20"; updateStmt.execute(); it gives me and error, saying could not convert text value to numeric value, which make sense because I'm passing and string but the IN expression should convert it accordingly, like it does when I pass directly the list values, why is not working the other way, thanks for any help!

  • Erroneous Matches with Regular Expression

    - by Ballsacian1
    $regexp = '/(?:<input\stype="hidden"\sname="){1}([a-zA-Z0-9]*)(?:"\svalue="1"\s\/>)/'; $response = '<input type="hidden" name="7d37dddd0eb2c85b8d394ef36b35f54f" value="1" />'; preg_match($regexp, $response, $matches); echo $matches[1]; // Outputs: 7d37dddd0eb2c85b8d394ef36b35f54f So I'm using this regular expression to search for an authentication token on a webpage implementing Joomla in order to preform a scripted login. I've got all this working but am wondering what is wrong with my regular expression as it always returns 2 items. Array ( [0] => [1] => 7d37dddd0eb2c85b8d394ef36b35f54f) Also the name of the input I'm checking for changes every page load both in length and name.

  • Regular Expression for accurate word-count using JavaScript

    - by Haidon
    I'm trying to put together a regular expression for a JavaScript command that accurately counts the number of words in a textarea. One solution I had found is as follows: document.querySelector("#wordcount").innerHTML = document.querySelector("#editor").value.split(/\b\w+\b/).length -1; But this doesn't count any non-Latin characters (eg: Cyrillic, Hangul, etc); it skips over them completely. Another one I put together: document.querySelector("#wordcount").innerHTML = document.querySelector("#editor").value.split(/\s+/g).length -1; But this doesn't count accurately unless the document ends in a space character. If a space character is appended to the value being counted it counts 1 word even with an empty document. Furthermore, if the document begins with a space character an extraneous word is counted. Is there a regular expression I can put into this command that counts the words accurately, regardless of input method?

  • Consecutive calls/evaulations in a form?

    - by Dave
    Hey guys, simple question... Working with XLISP to write a program, but I've seemed to run into a simple fundamental problem that I can't seem to work around: perhaps someone has a quick fix. I'm trying to write an if statement who's then-clause evaluates multiple forms and returns the value of the last. In example: (setq POSITION 'DINING-ROOM) (defun LOOK (DIRECTION ROOM) ... ) (defun SETPOS (ROOM) ... ) (defun WHERE () ... ) (defun MOVE (DIRECTION) (if (not(equal nil (LOOK DIRECTION POSITION))) ; If there is a room in that direction ( ; Then-block: Go to that room. Return where you are. (SETPOS (LOOK DIRECTION ROOM)) (WHERE) ) ( ; Else-block: Return error (list 'CANT 'GO 'THERE) ) ) The logical equivalent intended is: function Move (Direction) { if(Look(Direction, Room) != null) { SetPos(Look(Direction,Room)); return Where(); } else { return "Can't go there"; } } (Apologies for the poor web-formatting.) The problem I have is with: ( (SETPOS (LOOK DIRECTION ROOM)) (WHERE) ) I simply want to return the evaluation of WHERE, but I need to execute the SETPOS function first. XLISP doesn't like the extra parentheses: if I remove the outer set, my WHERE list becomes my else (I don't want that). If I remove the sets around SETPOS and WHERE, it treats WHERE like an argument for SETPOS; I also don't want that. So, how do I simply evaluate the first, then the second and then return the values of the last evaluated?

  • Regular expression for a string containing one word but not another

    - by Chris Stahl
    I'm setting up some goals in Google Analytics and could use a little regex help. Lets say I have 4 URLs http://www.anydotcom.com/test/search.cfm?metric=blah&selector=size&value=1 http://www.anydotcom.com/test/search.cfm?metric=blah2&selector=style&value=1 http://www.anydotcom.com/test/search.cfm?metric=blah3&selector=size&value=1 http://www.anydotcom.com/test/details.cfm?metric=blah&selector=size&value=1 I want to create an expression that will identify any URL that contains the string selector=size but does NOT contain details.cfm I know that to find a string that does NOT contain another string I can use this expression: (^((?!details.cfm).)*$) But, I'm not sure how to add in the selector=size portion. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • Qt/C++ regular expression library with unicode property support

    - by Dave
    I'm converting an application from the .Net framework to Qt using C++. The application makes extensive use of regular expression unicode properties, i.e. \p{L}, \p{M}, etc. I've just discovered that the QRegExp class lacks support for this among other things (lookbehinds, etc.) Can anyone recommend a C++ regular expression library that: Supports unicode properties Is unicode-aware in other respects (i.e. \w matches more than ASCII word characters) As a bonus, supports lookbehinds. Please don't point me to the wikipedia article; I don't trust it. That article says that QRegExp supports unicode properties. Unless I'm really doing something wrong, it doesn't. I'm looking for someone actually using unicode properties with a regex library in a project.

  • Generate a Constant expression from a function

    - by Lee
    For my Google Wave robot, on the onDocumentChanged event I want to apply a filter as follows: @Capability(filter = FILTER) @Override public void onDocumentChanged(DocumentChangedEvent event) { ... } I want the filter to be generated the first time the robot is run, which I'm trying to do as follows: private static final String FILTER = generateFilter(); private static final String generateFilter(){ ... } However, it complains FILTER isn't a constant expression when used within @Capability. generateFilter() will return the same string every time it is called, I'm only using it to create the string so that when I make changes, I don't need to worry about updating the filter. Now I could be going about this all wrong, so wondered if anyone knew what I'm doing wrong, or knew a better way in which I could generate a constant expression from the function.

  • Regular Expression

    - by equilibrium
    Ohh! this regular expression thing is eating my brain up. I have been reading it from Introduction to Automata Theory, Languages and Computer by Hopcroft, Motwani and Ullman. I have solved a few exercises too but could not solve the following even after trying for almost one hr. The problem is to write a regular expression that defines a language consisting of all strings of 0s and 1s except the substring 011. Is the answer (0+1)* - 011 correct ? If not what should be the correct answer for this?

  • Javascript Regex: Testing string for intelligent query

    - by Shyam
    Hi, I have a string that holds user input. This string can contain various types of data, like: a six digit id a zipcode that contains out of 4 digits and two alphanumeric characters a name (characters only) As I am using this string to search through a database, the query type is determined on the type of search, which i want to handle serverside using JavaScript (yes, I am using JavaScript serverside). Searching on StackOverflow, brought me some interesting information, like the .test-method, which seems perfect for my needs. The test-method returns either true or false based on the evaluation on the string using a regex object. I am using this page as a reference: http://www.javascriptkit.com/jsref/regexp.shtml So I am trying to determine the zipcode, by using the following very noobish regex. var r = /[A-Za-z]{2,2}/ As far I can understand, this should limit the amount of occurrences of alphanumeric characters to a maximum of two. See beneath the output of my JavaScript console. > var r = /[A-Za-z]{2,2}/ > var x = "2233AL" > r.test(x) true > var x = "2233A" > r.test(x) false > var x = "2233ALL" > r.test(x) true /* i want this to be false */ > A little help would be really appreciated!

  • Regular expression one or more times JAVA

    - by user1381564
    Hi i am trying to match a string against a pattern this is the possible string signal CS, NS, dl: stateType := writeOrRead0; signal CS, pS : stateType := writeOrRead0; signal dS : stateType := writeOrRead0; i am only concerned with the pattern as far as the first colon. but the number of signals define can be more than one it could be three or four even this is the regular expression i have ^signal\\s*(\\w+),*\\s*(\\w+)\\s*: it will pick up the second two signal but and for the second one it picks up CS and pS and but the d and S in the next signal when i use matcher.group() come up seperately Can anyone give me an expression that will pick up all signal names whether there is one two three or more?

  • Why does a non-constant offsetof expression work?

    - by Chris J. Kiick
    Why does this work: #include <sys/types.h> #include <stdio.h> #include <stddef.h> typedef struct x { int a; int b[128]; } x_t; int function(int i) { size_t a; a = offsetof(x_t, b[i]); return a; } int main(int argc, char **argv) { printf("%d\n", function(atoi(argv[1]))); } If I remember the definition of offsetof correctly, it's a compile time construct. Using 'i' as the array index results in a non-constant expression. I don't understand how the compiler can evaluate the expression at compile time. Why isn't this flagged as an error?

  • Lambda expression will not compile

    - by John Soer
    I am very confused. I have this lamba expression: tvPatientPrecriptionsEntities.Sort((p1, p2) => p1.MedicationStartDate .Value .CompareTo(p2.MedicationStartDate.Value)); Visual Studio will not compile it and complains about syntax. I converted the lamba expression to an anonymous delegate as so: tvPatientPrecriptionsEntities.Sort( delegate(PatientPrecriptionsEntity p1, PatientPrecriptionsEntity p2) { return p1.MedicationStartDate .Value .CompareTo(p2.MedicationStartDate.Value); }); and it works fine. The project uses .NET 3.5 and I have a reference to System.Linq.

  • Are there any good Java/JVM libraries for my Expression Tree architecture?

    - by Snuggy
    My team and I are developing an enterprise-level application and I have devised an architecture for it that's best described as an "Expression Tree". The basic idea is that the leaf nodes of the tree are very simple expressions (perhaps simple values or strings). Nodes closer to the trunk will get more and more complex, taking the simpler nodes as their inputs and returning more complex results for their parents. Looking at it the other way, the application performs some task, and for this it creates a root expression. The root expression divides its input into smaller units and creates child expressions, which when evaluated it can use to build it's own result. The subdividing process continues until the simplest leaf nodes. There are two very important aspects of this architecture: It must be possible to manipulate nodes of the tree after it is built. The nodes may be given new input values to work with and any change in result for that node needs to be propagated back up the tree to the root node. The application must make best use of available processors and ultimately be scalable to other computers in a grid or in the cloud. Nodes in the tree will often be updating concurrently and notifying other interested nodes in the tree when they get a new value. Unfortunately, I'm not at liberty to discuss my actual application, but to aid understanding a little bit, you might imagine a kind of spreadsheet application being implemented with a similar architecture, where changes to cells in the table are propagated all over the place to other cells that need the result. The spreadsheet could get so massive that applying multi-core multi-computer distributed system to solve it would be of benefit. I've got my prototype "Expression Engine" working nicely on a single multi-core PC but I've started to run into a few concurrency issues (as expected because I haven't been taking too much care so far) so it's now time to start thinking about migrating the Engine to a more robust library, and that leads to a number of related questions: Is there any precedent for my "Expression Tree" architecture that I could research? What programming concepts should I consider. I realise this approach has many similarities to a functional programming style, and I'm already aware of the concepts of using futures and actors. Are there any others? Are there any languages or libraries that I should study? This question is inspired by my accidental discovery of Scala and the Akka library (which has good support for Actors, Futures, Distributed workloads etc.) and I'm wondering if there is anything else I should be looking at as well?

  • Do you have any recommendations on Blend/XAML books/tutorials for designers?

    - by Lenik
    There are a lot of WPF resources that are aiming developers. We are trying to get our designer up-to speed, and I have been researching some of the options on the market. The only two reasonable options that I found were "Expression Blend Unleashed" and "APress Foundation Expression Blend 2 Building Applications in WPF and SilverLight". Do people have any recommendations on blend/xaml books/tutorials for designers?

  • Multiple Conditions in Lambda Expressions at runtime C#

    - by Ryan
    Hi, I would like to know how to be able to make an Expression tree by inputting more than one parameter Example: dataContext.Users.Where(u => u.username == "Username" && u.password == "Password") At the moment the code that I did was the following but would like to make more general in regards whether the condition is OR or AND public Func<TLinqEntity, bool> ANDOnlyParams(string[] paramNames, object[] values) { List<ParameterExpression> paramList = new List<ParameterExpression>(); foreach (string param in paramNames) { paramList.Add(Expression.Parameter(typeof(TLinqEntity), param)); } List<LambdaExpression> lexList = new List<LambdaExpression>(); for (int i = 0; i < paramNames.Length; i++) { if (i == 0) { Expression bodyInner = Expression.Equal( Expression.Property( paramList[i], paramNames[i]), Expression.Constant(values[i])); lexList.Add(Expression.Lambda(bodyInner, paramList[i])); } else { Expression bodyOuter = Expression.And( Expression.Equal( Expression.Property( paramList[i], paramNames[i]), Expression.Constant(values[i])), Expression.Invoke(lexList[i - 1], paramList[i])); lexList.Add(Expression.Lambda(bodyOuter, paramList[i])); } } return ((Expression<Func<TLinqEntity, bool>>)lexList[lexList.Count - 1]).Compile(); } Thanks

  • XPath expression with condition on multiple ancestors

    - by Rest Wing
    The application I am developing receives an XML structure similar to following: <Root> <Valid> <Child name="Child1" /> <Container> <Child name="Child2" /> </Container> <Container> <Container> <Child name="Child3"/> <Child name="Child4"/> </Container> </Container> <Wrapper> <Child name="Child5" /> </Wrapper> <Wrapper> <Container> <Child name="Child19" /> </Container> </Wrapper> <Container> <Wrapper> <Child name="Child6" /> </Wrapper> </Container> <Container> <Wrapper> <Container> <Child name="Child20" /> </Container> </Wrapper> </Container> </Valid> <Invalid> <Child name="Child7" /> <Container> <Child name="Child8" /> </Container> <Container> <Container> <Child name="Child9"/> <Child name="Child10"/> </Container> </Container> <Wrapper> <Child name="Child11" /> </Wrapper> <Container> <Wrapper> <Child name="Child12" /> </Wrapper> </Container> </Invalid> </Root> I need to get a list of of Child elements under following conditions: Child is n generation descendant of Valid ancestor. Child may be m generation descendant of Container ancestor which is o generation descendant of Valid ancestor. Valid ancestors for Child element are Container elements as m generation ancestors and Valid element as first generation ancestor. where m, n, o are natural numbers. I need to write following XPath expressions Valid/Child Valid/Container/Child Valid/Container/Container/Child Valid/Container/Container/Container/Child ... as a single XPath expression. For provided example, the XPath expression would return only Child elements having name attribute equal to Child1, Child2, Child3 and Child4. The closest I have come to solution is following expression. Valid/Child | Valid//*[self::Container]/Child However, this would select Child element with name attribute equal to Child19 and Child20. Does XPath syntax supports either optional occurrence of an element or setting condition similar to self in previous example to all ancestors between Child and Valid elements?

  • Beginner questions on Java Regular Expression

    Hello everyone. I began studying Java Regular Expression recently and I found some really intersting task.For example,I now need to dig out "Product Name","Product Description" and "Sellers for this product" out of the following HTML code.(I am sorry for the big chunck of code,but it is very straightforward) <td class="sr-check"> <input type="checkbox" name="cptitle" value="678560038" /></td> <td class="sr-image" style="width: 80px;"><a href="/Nikon-D300S-12-3-678560038/prices-html" class="strictRule" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://img01.static-nextag.com/image/Nikon-D300S-12-3-MP-Digital-SLR-Camera-Body-Black/0/000/006/789/461/678946110.jpg" alt="Nikon D300S 12.3 MP Digital SLR Camera Body - Black" class="imageLink strictRule" height="75" width="75" id="opILink_0" title="Nikon Digital Cameras - Nikon D300S 12.3 MP Digital SLR Camera Body - Black" /></a><div class="breaker">&nbsp;</div></td> <td class="sr-info"> <div class="sr-info"> <a id="opPNLink_0" class="underline" style="font-size:16px" href="/Nikon-D300S-12-3-678560038 /prices-html" >Nikon D300S 12.3 MP <b>Digital</b> SLR <b>Camera</b> Body - Black</a> <div class="sr-subinfo"> <div class="sr-info-description">SLR - 13.1MP, 12.3MP - 1x Optical Zoom - CompactFlash, SD/MMC Memory Card - 3in.</div> <div class="rating"> <img src="http://img01.static-nextag.com/imagefiles/stars/stars4_10px.gif" alt="4/5 stars" title="4/5 stars" /> (92 user ratings)</div> <div style="clear: both;"> <!-- nxtginc=nextag.api.ServerInclude$JSPIncludeWriter(/buyer/ATLSSI.jsp?ptid=678560038&dts=y) --> <a id="_atl_0" style="" href="http://www.nextag.com/serv/main/buyer/MyPDir.jsp?list=_transCookieList&amp;cmd=add&amp;ptitle=678560038" rel="nofollow">+ Add to Shopping List</a> &nbsp;|&nbsp; <!-- endnxtginc --> <a rel="nofollow" id="mltLink_0" class="mlt-link" href="/Digital-Cameras--zz500001z2z678560038zB2dgz5---html">See More Like This</a> </div> <div id="fsLink_0" class="featuredSeller"> <a rel="nofollow" class="featuredSeller" id="opFSLink_0_0" href="/norob/PtitleSeller.jsp?chnl=main&amp;tag=785646073amp;ctx=x%2BN%2Fs9zy56l4u8RXCzALE1jeLesDMzeK09rPQEdK3Yjx395ZzX9cMh9N5JAxjk7xPqF9hjk2ztM5IRXU5nspLubIXYaVzI%2B%2Fg7h1Qz58TzgvrWuNawV8qEIqqSmClArWMq6mpzNRuSlgg2xCXYObNnaIH00iKSUmBawDRvecwbCpAxhXgXoLEiEinTwr3EipComdzxL9UHFYTLoWUToUB5SRSsolQmEJ3mgnnvu83%2FC8W34TGpN9mJo%2BnyAeTkt4&amp;ptitle=678560038" target="_blank" >Thundercameras</a>:$1,289 &nbsp; <a rel="nofollow" class="featuredSeller" id="opFSLink_0_1" href="/norob/PtitleSeller.jsp?chnl=main&amp;tag=797076595&amp;ctx=x%2BN%2Fs9zy56l4u8RXCzALE1jeLesDMzeK09rPQEdK3Yjx395ZzX9cMh9N5JAxjk7xPqF9hjk2ztM5IRXU5nspLubIXYaVzI%2B%2Fg7h1Qz58TzgvrWuNawV8qEIqqSmClArWMq6mpzNRuSlgg2xCXYObNrcWLhL%2BhryuAGhXNhYSPE%2BpAxhXgXoLEiEinTwr3EipComdzxL9UHFYTLoWUToUB5SRSsolQmEJ3mgnnvu83%2FC8W34TGpN9mJo%2BnyAeTkt4&amp;ptitle=678560038" target="_blank" >PhotoVideoSuperStore</a>:$1,269 &nbsp; <a rel="nofollow" class="featuredSeller" id="opFSLink_0_2" href="/norob/PtitleSeller.jsp?chnl=main&amp;tag=803555293&amp;ctx=x%2BN%2Fs9zy56l4u8RXCzALE1jeLesDMzeK09rPQEdK3Yjx395ZzX9cMh9N5JAxjk7xPqF9hjk2ztM5IRXU5nspLubIXYaVzI%2B%2Fg7h1Qz58TzgvrWuNawV8qEIqqSmClArWMq6mpzNRuSlgg2xCXYObNt06qcvLJ5UQz7S3zKd4urWpAxhXgXoLEiEinTwr3EipComdzxL9UHFYTLoWUToUB5SRSsolQmEJ3mgnnvu83%2FC8W34TGpN9mJo%2BnyAeTkt4&amp;ptitle=678560038" target="_blank" >Digitalelect</a>:$1,279 &nbsp;</div> I would think of : (1) digging out the product name from <td class="sr-image >tag,and using regular expression exp ="<td><span\\s+class=\"sr-image\"[^>]*>" + ".*?</span><a href=\"" + "([^\"]+)" + "\"[^>]*>" + "([^<]+)" + "</a>.*?</td>"; (2) digging out the product info from the <div class="sr-info-description"> tag. exp = "<div class="sr-info-description"> [^>]*>" (3) digging out the Sellers' names from <div id="fsLink_0" class="featuredSeller"> tag. exp = "<div id="fslink_0" class="featuredSeller[^>]*>" + ".*?</span><a rel=\"" + "([^\"]+)" + "\"[^>]*>" + "([^<]+)" + "</a>.*?</td>"; I am just beginning learing using Java Regular Expression,I would be grateful if you could correct me if I am in the wrong track or my regular expressiona are wrong.   • Alter a function as a parameter before evaluating it in R?

    - by Shane
    Is there any way, given a function passed as a parameter, to alter its input parameter string before evaluating it? Here's pseudo-code for what I'm hoping to achieve: test.func <- function(a, b) { # here I want to alter the b expression before evaluating it: b(..., val1=a) } Given the function call passed to b, I want to add in a as another parameter without needing to always specify ... in the b call. So the output from this test.func call should be: test.func(a="a", b=paste(1, 2)) "1" "2" "a" Edit: Another way I could see doing something like this would be if I could assign the additional parameter within the scope of the parent function (again, as pseudo-code); in this case a would be within the scope of t1 and hence t2, but not globally assigned: t2 <- function(...) { paste(a=a, ...) } t1 <- function(a, b) { local( { a <<- a; b } ) } t1(a="a", b=t2(1, 2)) This is somewhat akin to currying in that I'm nesting the parameter within the function itself. Edit 2: Just to add one more comment to this: I realize that one related approach could be to use "prototype-based programming" such that things would be inherited (which could be achieved with the proto package). But I was hoping for a easier way to simply alter the input parameters before evaluating in R.
