  • I'm new to C++. Please Help me with the Linked List (What functions to add)?

    - by Igal
    DEAR All; Hi, I'm just beginner to C++; Please help me to understand: What functions should be in the Linked list class ? I think there should be overloaded operators << and ; Please help me to improve the code (style, errors, etc,) Thanks for advance. Igal. Please review the small code for the integer List (enclosed MyNODE.h and ListDriver1.cpp); MyNODE.h // This is my first attempt to write linked list. Igal Spector, June 2010. #include <iostream.h> #include <assert.h> //Forward Declaration of the classes: class ListNode; class TheLinkedlist; // Definition of the node (WITH IMPLEMENTATION !!!, without test drive): class ListNode{ friend class TheLinkedlist; public: // constructor: ListNode(const int& value, ListNode *next= 0); // note: no destructor, as this handled by TheLinkedList class. // accessor: return data in the node. // int Show() const {return theData;} private: int theData; //the Data ListNode* theNext; //points to the next node in the list. }; //Implementations: //constructor: inline ListNode::ListNode(const int &value,ListNode *next) :theData(value),theNext(next){} //end of ListNode class, now for the LL class: class TheLinkedlist { public: //constructors: TheLinkedlist(); virtual ~TheLinkedlist(); // Accessors: void InsertAtFront(const &); void AppendAtBack(const &); // void InOrderInsert(const &); bool IsEmpty()const;//predicate function void Print() const; private: ListNode * Head; //pointer to first node ListNode * Tail; //pointer to last node. }; //Implementation: //Default constructor inline TheLinkedlist::TheLinkedlist():Head(0),Tail(0) {} //Destructor inline TheLinkedlist::~TheLinkedlist(){ if(!IsEmpty()){ //list is not empty cout<<"\n\tDestroying Nodes"<<endl; ListNode *currentPointer=Head, *tempPtr; while(currentPointer != 0){ //Delete remaining Nodes. tempPtr=currentPointer; cout<<"The node: "<<tempPtr->theData <<" is Destroyed."<<endl<<endl; currentPointer=currentPointer->theNext; delete tempPtr; } Head=Tail = 0; //don't forget this, as it may be checked one day. } } //Insert the Node to the beginning of the list: void TheLinkedlist::InsertAtFront(const int& value){ ListNode *newPtr = new ListNode(value,Head); assert(newPtr!=0); if(IsEmpty()) //list is empty Head = Tail = newPtr; else { //list is NOT empty newPtr->theNext = Head; Head = newPtr; } } //Insert the Node to the beginning of the list: void TheLinkedlist::AppendAtBack(const int& value){ ListNode *newPtr = new ListNode(value, NULL); assert(newPtr!=0); if(IsEmpty()) //list is empty Head = Tail = newPtr; else { //list is NOT empty Tail->theNext = newPtr; Tail = newPtr; } } //is the list empty? inline bool TheLinkedlist::IsEmpty() const { return (Head == 0); } // Display the contents of the list void TheLinkedlist::Print()const{ if ( IsEmpty() ){ cout << "\n\t The list is empty!!"<<endl; return; } ListNode *tempPTR = Head; cout<<"\n\t The List is: "; while ( tempPTR != 0 ){ cout<< tempPTR->theData <<" "; tempPTR = tempPTR->theNext; } cout<<endl<<endl; } ////////////////////////////////////// The test Driver: //Driver test for integer Linked List. #include <iostream.h> #include "MyNODE.h" // main Driver int main(){ cout<< "\n\t This is the test for integer LinkedList."<<endl; const int arraySize=11, ARRAY[arraySize]={44,77,88,99,11,2,22,204,50,58,12}; cout << "\n\tThe array is: "; //print the numbers. for (int i=0;i<arraySize; i++) cout<<ARRAY[i]<<", "; TheLinkedlist list; //declare the list for(int index=0;index<arraySize;index++) list.AppendAtBack( ARRAY[index] );//create the list cout<<endl<<endl; list.Print(); //print the list return 0; //end of the program. }

  • Lining up Divs, while using JQuery

    - by user630581
    I am trying to create a flash header like element in JQuery, that has three images that fade to other images. I have each group of images in a div, but the divs line up vertically down the page, I want them to line up horizontally in a row. Currently my css code is: div#demos{ width:940px; border:0; } .s1{ float:left; display:inline; background-color:#000000; width:225px; margin:0; } .s2{ float:right; display:inline; background-color:#000000; width:225px; margin:0; } .s3{ float:left; display:inline; background-color:#000000; width:225px; margin:0; } and my markup is: <div id="demos"> <div id="s1" class="pics"> <img src="Image1.jpeg" width="200" height="200" /> <img src="Image2.jpeg" width="200" height="200" /> <img src="Image3.jpeg" width="200" height="200" /> </div> <div id="s2" class="pics"> <img src="Image4.jpeg" width="200" height="200" /> <img src="Image5.jpeg" width="200" height="200" /> <img src="Image6.jpeg" width="200" height="200" /> </div> <div id="s3" class="pics"> <img src="Image7.jpeg" width="200" height="200" /> <img src="Image8.jpeg" width="200" height="200" /> <img src="Image9.jpeg" width="200" height="200" /> </div> <div style="clear:both"></div> </div>

  • How to make negate_unary work with any type?

    - by Chan
    Hi, Following this question: How to negate a predicate function using operator ! in C++? I want to create an operator ! can work with any functor that inherited from unary_function. I tried: template<typename T> inline std::unary_negate<T> operator !( const T& pred ) { return std::not1( pred ); } The compiler complained: Error 5 error C2955: 'std::unary_function' : use of class template requires template argument list c:\program files\microsoft visual studio 10.0\vc\include\xfunctional 223 1 Graphic Error 7 error C2451: conditional expression of type 'std::unary_negate<_Fn1>' is illegal c:\program files\microsoft visual studio 10.0\vc\include\ostream 529 1 Graphic Error 3 error C2146: syntax error : missing ',' before identifier 'argument_type' c:\program files\microsoft visual studio 10.0\vc\include\xfunctional 222 1 Graphic Error 4 error C2065: 'argument_type' : undeclared identifier c:\program files\microsoft visual studio 10.0\vc\include\xfunctional 222 1 Graphic Error 2 error C2039: 'argument_type' : is not a member of 'std::basic_ostream<_Elem,_Traits>::sentry' c:\program files\microsoft visual studio 10.0\vc\include\xfunctional 222 1 Graphic Error 6 error C2039: 'argument_type' : is not a member of 'std::basic_ostream<_Elem,_Traits>::sentry' c:\program files\microsoft visual studio 10.0\vc\include\xfunctional 230 1 Graphic Any idea?   • Is calling of overload operator-> resolved at compile time?

    - by Brent
when I tried to compile the code: (note: func and func2 is not typo) struct S { void func2() {} }; class O { public: inline S* operator->() const; private: S* ses; }; inline S* O::operator->() const { return ses; } int main() { O object; object->func(); return 0; } there is a compile error reported: D:\code>g++ operatorp.cpp -S -o operatorp.exe operatorp.cpp: In function `int main()': operatorp.cpp:27: error: 'struct S' has no member named 'func' it seems that invoke the overloaded function of "operator-" is done during compile time? I'd added "-S" option for compile only.

  • How do I get my text to be direction from right to left without using a p tag?

    - by smfoote
I have a dynamically appearing div on a page. I would like to be able to hide the div with a button at the top right corner of the div. One way I have found to do this is to use a p tag, like so: <p dir="RTL">button</p> If this is the first line of HTML within the div, it will put the button in the upper right hand corner of the div. However, it gives me a new line above and a new line below, so, the button isn't really where I want it to be. The "dir" attribute doesn't seem to work with a span tag, and if I display the p tag inline using css p { display:inline; } the button is no longer right aligned. Instead it stays in the left hand corner. Is there a way to get this button in the upper right hand corner without two unnecessary new lines and without a bunch of  ?

  • how can I get jquery.sIFR plugin to display sIFR-alternate text for print?

    - by apeBoy
I'm struggling with this. I've used the jquery sIFR plugin as opposed to sIFR it prevented conflicts with other jquery I am using on my pages. It works fine in its prime function: replacing html text with Flash. However, the .sIFR-alternate class is given an inline style of 'opacity: 0' which persists when flashblock is on. So alternate text does not appear. Neither does it appear when printng the page (yes I have included styles for sIFR-print). I've tried replacing the opacity:0 inline style with display: none but this causes height issues with the output flash. Any one else had this or have any ideas?

  • Do validations still fire in ASP.NET even if the controls are hidden?

    - by Josh
I have a form that uses ASP.NET validations. I am using some inline C# in the aspx to show/hide certain controls depending on a user's role. I would use the Visible property, but there are so many of them, I just decided to do inline C# to show and hide (I know, not best practice, but bear with me for a second). I am having an issue where Page.IsValid is always set to False when I submit my form (when certain fields are being hidden). Will the validations still fire off even if the controls are not even rendered on the pag? Also, if this is not the case, is there an effective way of breaking down Page.IsValid to find out what is setting it to False? Thanks.

  • Pretty photo ibox doesn't trigger after appending new element in HTML

    - by user1469133
    I'm trying to get prettyPhoto or some other jquery plugin to work after I append new element to the HTML page: to be specific I have this: $(document).ready(function() { $(window).scroll(function() { if($(window).scroll) { $('div#loadMoreComments').show(); $.ajax({ type : "POST", url : "getvariables.php", dataType: "json", data : { webid: $(".posts:last").attr('id') } }).done(function( msg ) { jQuery.each(msg , function(index, value){ $("#posts").append(value); }); // $("#posts").append(msg); $('div#loadmore').hide(); }); } }); }); Then I have something like this that has to trigger the popup <p><a href="#inline-1" rel="ibox">Trigger popup.</a></p> <div id="inline-1" style="display: none;"> Content to show up after the link is triggered </div> Will appreciate any help over this. Thanks.

  • Rails: Generic form actions, cancel link losing `:back` on validation failure

    - by Patrick Connor
I am trying to create a generic set of Submit, Cancel, and Destroy actions for forms. At this point, it appears that everything is working, except that I lose :back functionality then a form reloads due to validation errors. Is there a way to catch the fact that validation has failed, and in that case, keep the request.env['HTTP_REFERER'] or :back value the same without having to edit every controller? = simple_form_for @announcement do |f| = f.error_notification = f.input :message = f.input :starts_at = f.input :ends_at #submit = f.button :submit = "or " = link_to("cancel", url_for(:back)) .right - if !f.object.new_record? - resource = (f.object.class.name).downcase = link_to "destroy", url_for(:action => 'destroy'), :confirm => "Are you sure that you want to delete this #{resource}?", :method => :delete .clear .non_input #post_back_msg #indicator.inline = image_tag "indicator.gif" .inline = "Please wait..." .non_input

  • Get CSS style from PHP

    - by rpSetzer
I am parsing pages using Simple DOM parser. It is neat, but I would like to get the applied css style for each element. Not only the inline styles, but every style it applies to that element, being it inline, in-page or external. Is there a class that does that? If not, how would you do it? I do not really care about overriding styles, cascade, or browser specific styles. Having all the directly applied styles would suffice.

  • How do I bind a click to an anchor without a framework (javascript)

    - by Stomped
I know this is easily done in jQuery or any other framework, but that's not really the point. How do I go about 'properly' binding a click event in pure javascript? I know how to do it inline (I know this is terrible) <a href="doc.html" onclick="myFunc(); return false">click here</a> and this causes my javascript to execute for a JS enabled browser, and the link to behave normally for those without javascript? Now, how do I do the same thing in a non-inline manner?

  • ActiveRecord find starts with

    - by robintw
Really simple question - how do I do a search to find all records where the name starts with a certain string in ActiveRecord. I've seen all sorts of bits all over the internet where verbatim LIKE SQL clauses are used - but from what I've heard that isn't the 'correct' way of doing it. Is there a 'proper' Rails way?

  • Getting the fractional part of a float without using modf()

    - by knight666
Hi, I'm developing for a platform without a math library, so I need to build my own tools. My current way of getting the fraction is to convert the float to fixed point (multiply with (float)0xFFFF, cast to int), get only the lower part (mask with 0xFFFF) and convert it back to a float again. However, the imprecision is killing me. I'm using my Frac() and InvFrac() functions to draw an anti-aliased line. Using modf I get a perfectly smooth line. With my own method pixels start jumping around due to precision loss. This is my code: const float fp_amount = (float)(0xFFFF); const float fp_amount_inv = 1.f / fp_amount; inline float Frac(float a_X) { return ((int)(a_X * fp_amount) & 0xFFFF) * fp_amount_inv; } inline float Frac(float a_X) { return (0xFFFF - (int)(a_X * fp_amount) & 0xFFFF) * fp_amount_inv; } Thanks in advance!

  • How to style email body in php

    - by Vinay
I want to style mail body. I have tried the below methods to style mail body. But all of them didn't work 1) Used external style sheet style.css td{padding:10px;} mail.php <link rel="stylesheet" href="style.css"></link><table><td>....</td></table> 2) Defined Internal Style Sheet: mail.php <style type="text/css"> td{ padding-bottom:8px; } </style> <table><td>....</td></table> I know, Inline style works by doing <td style='padding-bottom:8px'>, But i have got many tables, doing the inline style is not a good idea, Is there any work around so that no need to define style for each element

  • Calling a function when using <button> tag with jQuery Mobile

    - by u2sonderzug
I already asked a similar question for buttons in tags, but I find that solution doesn't work using tags. So, if I am using a script that references jQuery Mobile I have the following line: <button id="buttonAnswer1" data-inline="true">Click me</button> How would I add a listener for when this button is clicked and lets say call the hello() function? i.e. <button id="buttonAnswer1" data-inline="true">Click me</button> <script> function hello(){ console.log("hello world"); } </script>

  • My VS 2010 and ASP.NET 4 Talks Online

    - by ScottGu
The past 7 years I’ve done an annual all day event in Arizona – organized by the most excellent Scott Cate (who always does a phenomenal job organizing the event and making it a great one). Earlier this month I visited and presented 4+ hours of content covering VS 2010, ASP.NET 4 and ASP.NET MVC 2.  NextSlide.com – a great .NET shop local to Arizona who has a great product for sharing presentations – volunteered to record the talks and publish them for free using their online presentation tool.  The recordings they did turned out really, really great – and their online player (which combines slides + camera of me + demos in one experience) is awesome.  Below you can watch the first two segments of my event – which cover VS 2010 and ASP.NET 4 – for free online using the NextSlide.com player experience.  I’ll post a link to my ASP.NET MVC 2 segment a little later in a separate blog post.  If you’ve never seen my present these talks before and are interested in the content then I’d recommend checking them out – as these recordings do a really good job capturing them. Part 1 - VS 2010 This is a 49 minute segment that starts the event and covers a bunch of the new improvements in VS 2010.  You can launch the presentation directly here or watch it inline below.  You can download powerpoint versions of my slides here. Part 2- ASP.NET 4 This 61 minute segment comes next and drills into some of the framework improvements with ASP.NET 4.  It also goes further on some of the web specific tooling improvements in VS 2010 – and towards the end demonstrates some of the great new end-to-end web deployment features provided with VS 2010 (which work for both ASP.NET Web Forms and ASP.NET MVC applications). You can launch the presentation directly here or watch it inline below: Learning More about VS 2010 and ASP.NET 4 I’ve been working on a series of blog post about VS 2010 and .NET 4.  Many of the features I covered in my two talks above are described in more detail in posts within the series.  You can read all of them here. I’ll be continuing adding to the series via my blog, so stay tuned for more in-depth posts about a bunch more new features. Hope this helps, Scott P.S. People often ask whether they can re-use the slides+demos I use in my talks for talks of their own.  The answer to this is always absolutely! No need to ask permission.  Feel free to re-use all of my slides for talks of your own. P.P.S. In addition to blogging, I am also now using Twitter for quick updates and to share links. • Fair Comments

    - by Tony Davis
To what extent is good code self-documenting? In one of the most entertaining sessions I saw at the recent PASS summit, Jeremiah Peschka (blog | twitter) got a laugh out of a sleepy post-lunch audience with the following remark: "Some developers say good code is self-documenting; I say, get off my team" I silently applauded the sentiment. It's not that all comments are useful, but that I mistrust the basic premise that "my code is so clearly written, it doesn't need any comments". I've read many pieces describing the road to self-documenting code, and my problem with most of them is that they feed the myth that comments in code are a sign of weakness. They aren't; in fact, used correctly I'd say they are essential. Regardless of how far intelligent naming can get you in describing what the code does, or how well any accompanying unit tests can explain to your fellow developers why it works that way, it's no excuse not to document fully the public interfaces to your code. Maybe I just mixed with the wrong crowd while learning my favorite language, but when I open a stored procedure I lose the will even to read it unless I see a big Phil Factor- or Jeff Moden-style header summarizing in plain English what the code does, how it fits in to the broader application, and a usage example. This public interface describes the high-level process and should explain the role of the code, clearly, for fellow developers, language non-experts, and even any non-technical stake holders in the project. When you step into the body of the code, the low-level details, then I agree that the rules are somewhat different; especially when code is subject to frequent refactoring that can quickly render comments redundant or misleading. At their worst, here, inline comments are sticking plaster to cover up the scars caused by poor naming conventions, failure in clarity when mapping a complex domain into code, or just by not entirely understanding the problem (/ this is the clever part). If you design and refactor your code carefully so that it is as simple as possible, your functions do one thing only, you avoid having two completely different algorithms in the same piece of code, and your functions, classes and variables are intelligently named, then, yes, the need for inline comments should be minimal. And yet, even given this, I'd still argue that many languages (T-SQL certainly being one) just don't lend themselves to readability when performing even moderately-complex tasks. If the algorithm is complex, I still like to see the occasional helpful comment. Please, therefore, be as liberal as you see fit in the detail of the comments you apply to this editorial, for like code it is bound to increase its' clarity and usefulness. Cheers, Tony.

  • ASP.NET MVC JavaScript Routing

    - by zowens
Have you ever done this sort of thing in your ASP.NET MVC view? The weird thing about this isn’t the alert function, it’s the code block containing the Url formation using the ASP.NET MVC UrlHelper. The terrible thing about this experience is the obvious lack of IntelliSense and this ugly inline JavaScript code. Inline JavaScript isn’t portable to other pages beyond the current page of execution. It is generally considered bad practice to use inline JavaScript in your public-facing pages. How ludicrous would it be to copy and paste the entire jQuery code base into your pages…? Not something you’d ever consider doing. The problem is that your URLs have to be generated by ASP.NET at runtime and really can’t be copied to your JavaScript code without some trickery. How about this? Does the hard-coded URL bother you? It really bothers me. The typical solution to this whole routing in JavaScript issue is to just hard-code your URLs into your JavaScript files and call it done. But what if your URLs change? You have to now go an track down the places in JavaScript and manually replace them. What if you get the pattern wrong? Do you have tests around it? This isn’t something you should have to worry about.   The Solution To Our Problems The solution is to port routing over to JavaScript. Does that sound daunting to you? It’s actually not very hard, but I decided to create my own generator that will do all the work for you. What I have created is a very basic port of the route formation feature of ASP.NET routing. It will generate the formatted URLs based on your routing patterns. Here’s how you’d do this: Does that feel familiar? It looks a lot like something you’d do inside of your ASP.NET MVC views… but this is inside of a JavaScript file… just a plain ol’ .js file.  Your first question might be why do you have to have that “.toUrl()” thing. The reason is that I wanted to make POST and GET requests dead simple. Here’s how you’d do a POST request (and the same would work with a GET request):   The first parameter is extra data passed to the post request and the second parameter is a function that handles the success of the POST request. If you’re familiar with jQuery’s Ajax goodness, you’ll know how to use it. (if not, check out http://api.jquery.com/jQuery.Post/ and the parameters are essentially the same). But we still haven’t gotten rid of the magic strings. We still have controller names and action names represented as strings. This is going to blow your mind… If you’ve seen T4MVC, this will look familiar. We’re essentially doing the same sort of thing with my JavaScript router, but we’re porting the concept to JavaScript. The good news is that parameters to the controllers are directly reflected in the action function, just like T4MVC. And the even better news… IntlliSense is easily transferred to the JavaScript version if you’re using Visual Studio as your JavaScript editor. The additional data parameter gives you the ability to pass extra routing data to the URL formatter.   About the Magic You may be wondering how this all work. It’s actually quite simple. I’ve built a simple jQuery pluggin (called routeManager) that hangs off the main jQuery namespace and routes all the URLs. Every time your solution builds, a routing file will be generated with this pluggin, all your route and controller definitions along with your documentation. Then by the power of Visual Studio, you get some really slick IntelliSense that is hard to live without. But there are a few steps you have to take before this whole thing is going to work. First and foremost, you need a reference to the JsRouting.Core.dll to your projects containing controllers or routes. Second, you have to specify your routes in a bit of a non-standard way. See, we can’t just pull routes out of your App_Start in your Global.asax. We force you to build a route source like this: The way we determine the routes is by pulling in all RouteSources and generating routes based upon the mapped routes. There are various reasons why we can’t use RouteCollection (different post for another day)… but in this case, you get the same route mapping experience. Converting the RouteSource to a RouteCollection is trivial (there’s an extension method for that). Next thing you have to do is generate a documentation XML file. This is done by going to the project settings, going to the build tab and clicking the checkbox. (this isn’t required, but nice to have). The final thing you need to do is hook up the generation mechanism. Pop open your project file and look for the AfterBuild step. Now change the build step task to look like this: The “PathToOutputExe” is the path to the JsRouting.Output.exe file. This will change based on where you put the EXE. The “PathToOutputJs” is a path to the output JavaScript file. The “DicrectoryOfAssemblies” is a path to the directory containing controller and routing DLLs. The JsRouting.Output.exe executable pulls in all these assemblies and scans them for controllers and route sources.   Now that wasn’t too bad, was it :)   The State of the Project This is definitely not complete… I have a lot of plans for this little project of mine. For starters, I need to look at the generation mechanism. Either I will be creating a utility that will do the project file manipulation or I will go a different direction. I’d like some feedback on this if you feel partial either way. Another thing I don’t support currently is areas. While this wouldn’t be too hard to support, I just don’t use areas and I wanted something up quickly (this is, after all, for a current project of mine). I’ll be adding support shortly. There are a few things that I haven’t covered in this post that I will most certainly be covering in another post, such as routing constraints and how these will be translated to JavaScript. I decided to open source this whole thing, since it’s a nice little utility I think others should really be using. Currently we’re using ASP.NET MVC 2, but it should work with MVC 3 as well. I’ll upgrade it as soon as MVC 3 is released. Along those same lines, I’m investigating how this could be put on the NuGet feed. Show me the Bits! OK, OK! The code is posted on my GitHub account. Go nuts. Tell me what you think. Tell me what you want. Tell me that you hate it. All feedback is welcome! https://github.com/zowens/ASP.NET-MVC-JavaScript-Routing

  • Can't start Psychonauts game -- segfault

    - by tremby
This looks similar to Psychonauts Humble Indie Bundle V error but I don't have the ERROR message (missing GL capability) and its solution does not work for me. When trying to run Psychonauts from the Humble Indie Bundle on my x86_64 laptop running Ubuntu 12.04 I get the following output: <bjn@segnus:/usr/local/games/psychonauts>$ ./Psychonauts STUBBED: fix up the rest of the SSE code first at DetectSSESupport (/home/icculus/projects/psychonauts/Source/CommonLibs/DFMath/MathGeneral.cpp:32) STUBBED: write me? at SetPCLanguage (/home/icculus/projects/psychonauts/Source/game/luatest/UnixMain.cpp:120) STUBBED: fix up the rest of the SSE code first at DetectCPUCaps (/home/icculus/projects/psychonauts/Source/game/luatest/Game/PCGameApp.cpp:223) STUBBED: check LANG envr var at _GetDefaultGameLanguage (/home/icculus/projects/psychonauts/Source/game/luatest/Game/GameApp.cpp:171) Console created Save path: /home/bjn/.local/share/Psychonauts Write path: WorkResource STUBBED: inline asm at SSEMul_4x4_4x4_2arg (/home/icculus/projects/psychonauts/Source/CommonLibs/DFMath/Matrix.cpp:710) STUBBED: inline asm at SSEMul_4x4_4x4_3arg (/home/icculus/projects/psychonauts/Source/CommonLibs/DFMath/Matrix.cpp:698) ******** unit test failed ******** STUBBED: VK_* at InitInputNames (/home/icculus/projects/psychonauts/Source/CommonLibs/DirectX/SDLInput.cpp:1220) No joysticks detected Transport started DaveD: NCListenSocket: Listening on port 40001 SDL_SetVideoMode() failed: Failed loading libGL.so.1 Start Up completed in 0.06 seconds [1] 9718 segmentation fault (core dumped) ./Psychonauts <bjn@segnus:/usr/local/games/psychonauts>$ Output of lspci: 00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset Memory Controller Hub (rev 07) 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 07) 00:02.1 Display controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 07) 00:19.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82567LM Gigabit Network Connection (rev 03) 00:1a.0 USB controller: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) USB UHCI Controller #4 (rev 03) 00:1a.1 USB controller: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) USB UHCI Controller #5 (rev 03) 00:1a.2 USB controller: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) USB UHCI Controller #6 (rev 03) 00:1a.7 USB controller: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) USB2 EHCI Controller #2 (rev 03) 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) HD Audio Controller (rev 03) 00:1c.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) PCI Express Port 1 (rev 03) 00:1c.1 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) PCI Express Port 2 (rev 03) 00:1c.3 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) PCI Express Port 4 (rev 03) 00:1d.0 USB controller: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) USB UHCI Controller #1 (rev 03) 00:1d.1 USB controller: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) USB UHCI Controller #2 (rev 03) 00:1d.2 USB controller: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) USB UHCI Controller #3 (rev 03) 00:1d.7 USB controller: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) USB2 EHCI Controller #1 (rev 03) 00:1e.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 82801 Mobile PCI Bridge (rev 93) 00:1f.0 ISA bridge: Intel Corporation ICH9M-E LPC Interface Controller (rev 03) 00:1f.2 RAID bus controller: Intel Corporation 82801 Mobile SATA Controller [RAID mode] (rev 03) 00:1f.3 SMBus: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) SMBus Controller (rev 03) 02:01.0 FireWire (IEEE 1394): Ricoh Co Ltd R5C832 IEEE 1394 Controller (rev 05) 02:01.1 SD Host controller: Ricoh Co Ltd R5C822 SD/SDIO/MMC/MS/MSPro Host Adapter (rev 22) 0c:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation WiFi Link 5100 Any ideas?

    Hello Experts, We have designed a face book page.It is working fine in all browser including IE7 but it is not working in IE8.We checked then we got if we run our code outside the face book page it works in IE8 but when we put our code into face book page its not working.Here is the css code what we are using for IE8. <!--[if lt IE 8]> <style> .nv_a { width:90px; height:27px; float:left; text-align:center; padding-top:8px; } .nvt_a { width:66px; height:27px; float:left; text-align:center; padding-top:8px; } .nv_a a { width:90px; height:27px; float:left; padding-top:8px; text-align:center; color:#000; display:inline-block; text-decoration:none; background-color:#e0e0e0; border-top:solid 1px #999; border-left:solid 1px #999; border-right:solid 1px #999; border-bottom:solid 1px #999; } .nv_a a:hover { width:90px; height:27px; padding-top:8px; float:left; color:#000; text-align:center; background-color:#ccc; } .nvt_a a { width:66px; height:27px; float:left; padding-top:8px; text-align:center; color:#000; display:inline-block; text-decoration:none; background-color:#e0e0e0; border-top:solid 1px #999; border-left:solid 1px #999; border-right:solid 1px #999; border-bottom:solid 1px #999; border:1px solid red; } Please help us to solve the issue.

  • Are SQL Injection vulnerabilities in a PHP application acceptable if mod_security is enabled?

    - by Austin Smith
I've been asked to audit a PHP application. No framework, no router, no model. Pure PHP. Few shared functions. HTML, CSS, and JS all mixed together. I've discovered numerous places where SQL injection would be easily possible. There are other problems with the application (XSS vulnerabilities, rampant inline CSS, code copy-pasted everywhere) but this is the biggest. Sometimes they escape inputs, not using a prepared query or even mysql_real_escape_string(), mind you, but using addslashes(). Often, though, their queries look exactly like this (pasted from their code but with columns and variable names changed): $user = mysql_query("select * from profile where profile_id='".$_REQUEST["profile_id"]."'"); The developers in question claimed that they were unable to hack their application. I tried, and found mod_security to be enabled, resulting in HTTP 406 for some obvious SQL injection attacks. I believe there to be sophisticated workarounds for mod_security, but I don't have time to chase them down. They claim that this is a "conceptual" matter and not a "practical" one since the application can't easily be hacked. Their internal auditor agreed that there were problems, but emphasized the conceptual nature of the issues. They also use this conceptual/practical argument to defend against inline CSS and JS, absence of code organization, XSS vulnerabilities, and massive amounts of repetition. My client (rightly so, perhaps) just wants this to go away so they can launch their product. The site works. You can log in, do what you need to do, and things are visibly functional, if slow. SQL Injection would indeed be hard to do, given mod_security. Further, their talk of "conceptual vs. practical" is rhetorically brilliant, considering that my client doesn't understand web application security. I worry that they've succeeded in making me sound like an angry puritan. In many ways, this is a problem of politics, not technology, but I am at a loss. As a developer, I want to tell them to toss the whole project and start over with a new team, but I face a strong defense from the team that built it and a client who really needs to ship their product. Is my position here too harsh? Even if they fix the SQL Injection and XSS problems can I ever endorse the release of an unmaintainable tangle of spaghetti code?

  • I&rsquo;m offended by your antisemantic views

    - by Brian Schroer
CSS class names should usually be “semantic” (describing the meaning of the styled areas, e.g. “article-title”, “author-info”, “errror-message”, not “structural” (e.g. “left-side-navbar”, “small-title”). …and they definitely shouldn’t explicitly describe the styling. I’ve seen a class names like “bold-red-12pt”. If you’re going to do that, you might as well just use inline font tags. This article explains it much better than I can…
