  • NHibernate unintential lazy property loading

    - by chiccodoro
I introduced a mapping for a business object which has (among others) a property called "Name": public class Foo : BusinessObjectBase { ... public virtual string Name { get; set; } } For some reason, when I fetch "Foo" objects, NHibernate seems to apply lazy property loading (for simple properties, not associations): The following code piece generates n+1 SQL statements, whereof the first only fetches the ids, and the remaining n fetch the Name for each record: ISession session = ...IQuery query = session.CreateQuery(queryString); ITransaction tx = session.BeginTransaction(); List<Foo> result = new List<Foo>(); foreach (Foo foo in query.Enumerable()) { result.Add(foo); } tx.Commit(); session.Close(); produces: NHibernate: select foo0_.FOO_ID as col_0_0_ from V1_FOO foo0_ NHibernate: SELECT foo0_.FOO_ID as FOO1_2_0_, foo0_.NAME as NAME2_0_ FROM V1_FOO foo0_ WHERE foo0_.FOO_ID=:p0;:p0 = 81 NHibernate: SELECT foo0_.FOO_ID as FOO1_2_0_, foo0_.NAME as NAME2_0_ FROM V1_FOO foo0_ WHERE foo0_.FOO_ID=:p0;:p0 = 36470 NHibernate: SELECT foo0_.FOO_ID as FOO1_2_0_, foo0_.NAME as NAME2_0_ FROM V1_FOO foo0_ WHERE foo0_.FOO_ID=:p0;:p0 = 36473 Similarly, the following code leads to a LazyLoadingException after session is closed: ISession session = ... ITransaction tx = session.BeginTransaction(); Foo result = session.Load<Foo>(id); tx.Commit(); session.Close(); Console.WriteLine(result.Name); Following this post, "lazy properties ... is rarely an important feature to enable ... (and) in Hibernate 3, is disabled by default." So what am I doing wrong? I managed to work around the LazyLoadingException by doing a NHibernateUtil.Initialize(foo) but the even worse part are the n+1 sql statements which bring my application to its knees. This is how the mapping looks like: <class name="Foo" table="V1_FOO"> ... <property name="Name" column="NAME"/> </class> BTW: The abstract "BusinessObjectBase" base class encapsulates the ID property which serves as the internal identifier.

  • Populate an unmapped property of domain object from result of join with Nhibernate

    - by Adam Pope
I have a situation where I have 3 tables: StockItem, Office and StockItemPrice. The price for each StockItem can be different for each Office. StockItem( ID Name ) Office( ID Name ) StockItemPrice( ID StockItemID OfficeID Price ) I've set up a schema with 2 many-to-one relations to link StockItem and Office. So in my StockItem domain object I have a property: IList<StockItemPrice> Prices; which gets loaded with the price of the item for each office. That's working fine. Now I'm trying to get the price of an item for a single office. I have the following Criteria query: NHibernateSession.CreateCriteria(persistentType) .Add(Restrictions.Eq("ID", id)) .CreateAlias("Prices", "StockItemPrice") .Add(Restrictions.Eq("StockItemPrice.Office", office)) .UniqueResult<StockItem>(); This appears to work fine as the SQL it generates is what I qould expect. However, I dont know if it populates StockItem.Prices with a single object correctly as as soon as I reference that property NHibernate performs a lazy load of all the office's prices. Also, even if it does work, it feels really crufty having to access the price by using: mystockitem.Prices[0].Price What I would really like is to have a Price field on the StockItem object and have the price of the item put into that field by NHibernate. I've tried adding .CreateCriteria("Price", "StockItemPrice.Price") and the same with CreateAlias, but I get the error NHibernate.QueryException : could not resolve property: Price of: StockItem which makes sense I guess as Price isn't a mapped property. How would I adjust the query to make this possible?

  • C# function called after dependency property have been set

    - by mizipzor
My code currently looks like this: private Foo myFoo; public Foo CurrentFoo { get { return myFoo; } set { SetFoo(value); } } private void SetFoo(Foo newFoo) { // Do stuff // Here be dragons myFoo = newFoo; } To be able to bind it in XAML/WPF I need to turn Foo into a dependency property: public static DependencyProperty CurrentFooProperty = DependencyProperty.Register("CurrentFoo", typeof(Foo), typeof(FooHandler), new PropertyMetadata(false)); public Foo CurrentFoo { get { return (Foo)GetValue(CurrentFooProperty); } set { SetValue(CurrentFooProperty, value); } } Ive heard that you shouldnt do magic inside the actual C# property set {}, since it might not be called but the value is written directly to the dependency property. If this is false, let me know, it seems like the most obvious and simple route to take. I know I can add a validation function to the dependency property but I assume that it shouldnt be used for this? I need to communicate the change to legacy systems that cannot yet be bound in XAML. Whats the best way to approach this problem?

  • entity framework navigation property further filter without loading into memory

    - by cellik
Hi, I've two entities with 1 to N relation in between. Let's say Books and Pages. Book has a navigation property as Pages. Book has BookId as an identifier and Page has an auto generated id and a scalar property named PageNo. LazyLoading is set to true. I've generated this using VS2010 & .net 4.0 and created a database from that. In the partial class of Book, I need a GetPage function like below public Page GetPage(int PageNumber) { //checking whether it exist etc are not included for simplicity return Pages.Where(p=>p.PageNo==PageNumber).First(); } This works. However, since Pages property in the Book is an EntityCollection it has to load all Pages of a book in memory in order to get the one page (this slows down the app when this function is hit for the first time for a given book). i.e. Framework does not merge the queries and run them at once. It loads the Pages in memory and then uses LINQ to objects to do the second part To overcome this I've changed the code as follows public Page GetPage(int PageNumber) { MyContainer container = new MyContainer(); return container.Pages.Where(p=>p.PageNo==PageNumber && p.Book.BookId==BookId).First(); } This works considerably faster however it doesn't take into account the pages that have not been serialized to the db. So, both options has its cons. Is there any trick in the framework to overcome this situation. This must be a common scenario where you don't want all of the objects of a Navigation property loaded in memory when you don't need them.

  • Can't access a property with <html:checkbox property="..."> when iterating a list

    - by Bernhard V
Hi. In my Struts form I've got a list. In a JSP I iterate over it like this: <c:forEach items="${MyForm.auspraegungen}" var="auspraegung"> <tr> <td>${auspraegung.name}</td> <td>${auspraegung.forced}</td> <td>${auspraegung.cbx_uebernehmen}</td> <html:checkbox property="auspraegung.cbx_uebernehmen" /> </tr> </c:forEach> Now the <html:checkbox isn't working. I'm always getting the following error: Caused by: javax.servlet.jsp.JspException: No getter method for property auspraegung.cbx_uebernehmen of bean org.apache.struts.taglib.html.BEAN But actually there is a getter for this property in my form class. It's written like this: public Boolean getCbx_uebernehmen() { return cbx_uebernehmen; } When I remove the checkbox it's also possible to display the property as in the <td>-tag above so I don't know where the problem is. Maybe I'm accessing it in the wrong way?

  • Bind WPF control with property of custom type

    - by TheBlueSky
Hello everyone, I'm trying to bind a Label's 'Content' property to a property from some custom type I have; unfortunately, I didn't figure out how to do it, and that's why I'm here :) Let's assume that I have the following type (can be in the same namespace as my WPF Window that contains the Label or different namespace): namespace MyNS { pubic class Person { private int age = 0; public int Age { get { return age; } } public void GetOlder { age++; } } } 1) How to I bind my Label to 'Age' property? 2) At runtime I will create an instance of 'Person'; I want to make sure that my Label is bound to the right instance; i.e. if I called: Person SomePerson = new Person(); SomePerson.GetOlder(); I want my Lable to have the new value of 'Age' property for 'SomePerson'. 3) If #2 was possible (I hope so), what if I called 'GetOlder' in different thread? Will I still get the latest value of 'Age'? Or do I have to take care of some other things as well to make this scenario possible? Thanks in advance, TheBlueSky

  • InternalsVisibleTo attribute and security vulnerability

    - by Sergey Litvinov
I found one issue with InternalsVisibleTo attribute usage. The idea of InternalsVisibleTo attribute to allow some other assemblies to use internal classes\methods of this assembly. To make it work you need sign your assemblies. So, if other assemblies isn't specified in main assembly and if they have incorrect public key, then they can't use Internal members. But the issue in Reflection Emit type generation. For example, we have CorpLibrary1 assembly and it has such class: public class TestApi { internal virtual void DoSomething() { Console.WriteLine("Base DoSomething"); } public void DoApiTest() { // some internal logic // ... // call internal method DoSomething(); } } This assembly is marked with such attribute to allow another CorpLibrary2 to make inheritor for that TestAPI and override behaviour of DoSomething method. [assembly: InternalsVisibleTo("CorpLibrary2, PublicKey=0024000004800000940000000602000000240000525341310004000001000100434D9C5E1F9055BF7970B0C106AAA447271ECE0F8FC56F6AF3A906353F0B848A8346DC13C42A6530B4ED2E6CB8A1E56278E664E61C0D633A6F58643A7B8448CB0B15E31218FB8FE17F63906D3BF7E20B9D1A9F7B1C8CD11877C0AF079D454C21F24D5A85A8765395E5CC5252F0BE85CFEB65896EC69FCC75201E09795AAA07D0")] The issue is that I'm able to override this internal DoSomething method and break class logic. My steps to do it: Generate new assembly in runtime via AssemblyBuilder Get AssemblyName from CorpLibrary1 and copy PublikKey to new assembly Generate new assembly that will inherit TestApi class As PublicKey and name of generated assembly is the same as in InternalsVisibleTo, then we can generate new DoSomething method that will override internal method in TestAPI assembly Then we have another assembly that isn't related to this CorpLibrary1 and can't use internal members. We have such test code in it: class Program { static void Main(string[] args) { var builder = new FakeBuilder(InjectBadCode, "DoSomething", true); TestApi fakeType = builder.CreateFake(); fakeType.DoApiTest(); // it will display: // Inject bad code // Base DoSomething Console.ReadLine(); } public static void InjectBadCode() { Console.WriteLine("Inject bad code"); } } And this FakeBuilder class has such code: /// /// Builder that will generate inheritor for specified assembly and will overload specified internal virtual method /// /// Target type public class FakeBuilder { private readonly Action _callback; private readonly Type _targetType; private readonly string _targetMethodName; private readonly string _slotName; private readonly bool _callBaseMethod; public FakeBuilder(Action callback, string targetMethodName, bool callBaseMethod) { int randomId = new Random((int)DateTime.Now.Ticks).Next(); _slotName = string.Format("FakeSlot_{0}", randomId); _callback = callback; _targetType = typeof(TFakeType); _targetMethodName = targetMethodName; _callBaseMethod = callBaseMethod; } public TFakeType CreateFake() { // as CorpLibrary1 can't use code from unreferences assemblies, we need to store this Action somewhere. // And Thread is not bad place for that. It's not the best place as it won't work in multithread application, but it's just a sample LocalDataStoreSlot slot = Thread.AllocateNamedDataSlot(_slotName); Thread.SetData(slot, _callback); // then we generate new assembly with the same nameand public key as target assembly trusts by InternalsVisibleTo attribute var newTypeName = _targetType.Name + "Fake"; var targetAssembly = Assembly.GetAssembly(_targetType); AssemblyName an = new AssemblyName(); an.Name = GetFakeAssemblyName(targetAssembly); // copying public key to new generated assembly var assemblyName = targetAssembly.GetName(); an.SetPublicKey(assemblyName.GetPublicKey()); an.SetPublicKeyToken(assemblyName.GetPublicKeyToken()); AssemblyBuilder assemblyBuilder = Thread.GetDomain().DefineDynamicAssembly(an, AssemblyBuilderAccess.RunAndSave); ModuleBuilder moduleBuilder = assemblyBuilder.DefineDynamicModule(assemblyBuilder.GetName().Name, true); // create inheritor for specified type TypeBuilder typeBuilder = moduleBuilder.DefineType(newTypeName, TypeAttributes.Public | TypeAttributes.Class, _targetType); // LambdaExpression.CompileToMethod can be used only with static methods, so we need to create another method that will call our Inject method // we can do the same via ILGenerator, but expression trees are more easy to use MethodInfo methodInfo = CreateMethodInfo(moduleBuilder); MethodBuilder methodBuilder = typeBuilder.DefineMethod(_targetMethodName, MethodAttributes.Public | MethodAttributes.Virtual); ILGenerator ilGenerator = methodBuilder.GetILGenerator(); // call our static method that will call inject method ilGenerator.EmitCall(OpCodes.Call, methodInfo, null); // in case if we need, then we put call to base method if (_callBaseMethod) { var baseMethodInfo = _targetType.GetMethod(_targetMethodName, BindingFlags.NonPublic | BindingFlags.Instance); // place this to stack ilGenerator.Emit(OpCodes.Ldarg_0); // call the base method ilGenerator.EmitCall(OpCodes.Call, baseMethodInfo, new Type[0]); // return ilGenerator.Emit(OpCodes.Ret); } // generate type, create it and return to caller Type cheatType = typeBuilder.CreateType(); object type = Activator.CreateInstance(cheatType); return (TFakeType)type; } /// /// Get name of assembly from InternalsVisibleTo AssemblyName /// private static string GetFakeAssemblyName(Assembly assembly) { var internalsVisibleAttr = assembly.GetCustomAttributes(typeof(InternalsVisibleToAttribute), true).FirstOrDefault() as InternalsVisibleToAttribute; if (internalsVisibleAttr == null) { throw new InvalidOperationException("Assembly hasn't InternalVisibleTo attribute"); } var ind = internalsVisibleAttr.AssemblyName.IndexOf(","); var name = internalsVisibleAttr.AssemblyName.Substring(0, ind); return name; } /// /// Generate such code: /// ((Action)Thread.GetData(Thread.GetNamedDataSlot(_slotName))).Invoke(); /// private LambdaExpression MakeStaticExpressionMethod() { var allocateMethod = typeof(Thread).GetMethod("GetNamedDataSlot", BindingFlags.Static | BindingFlags.Public); var getDataMethod = typeof(Thread).GetMethod("GetData", BindingFlags.Static | BindingFlags.Public); var call = Expression.Call(allocateMethod, Expression.Constant(_slotName)); var getCall = Expression.Call(getDataMethod, call); var convCall = Expression.Convert(getCall, typeof(Action)); var invokExpr = Expression.Invoke(convCall); var lambda = Expression.Lambda(invokExpr); return lambda; } /// /// Generate static class with one static function that will execute Action from Thread NamedDataSlot /// private MethodInfo CreateMethodInfo(ModuleBuilder moduleBuilder) { var methodName = "_StaticTestMethod_" + _slotName; var className = "_StaticClass_" + _slotName; TypeBuilder typeBuilder = moduleBuilder.DefineType(className, TypeAttributes.Public | TypeAttributes.Class); MethodBuilder methodBuilder = typeBuilder.DefineMethod(methodName, MethodAttributes.Static | MethodAttributes.Public); LambdaExpression expression = MakeStaticExpressionMethod(); expression.CompileToMethod(methodBuilder); var type = typeBuilder.CreateType(); return type.GetMethod(methodName, BindingFlags.Static | BindingFlags.Public); } } remarks about sample: as we need to execute code from another assembly, CorpLibrary1 hasn't access to it, so we need to store this delegate somewhere. Just for testing I stored it in Thread NamedDataSlot. It won't work in multithreaded applications, but it's just a sample. I know that we use Reflection to get private\internal members of any class, but within reflection we can't override them. But this issue is allows anyone to override internal class\method if that assembly has InternalsVisibleTo attribute. I tested it on .Net 3.5\4 and it works for both of them. How does it possible to just copy PublicKey without private key and use it in runtime? The whole sample can be found there - https://github.com/sergey-litvinov/Tests_InternalsVisibleTo UPDATE1: That test code in Program and FakeBuilder classes hasn't access to key.sn file and that library isn't signed, so it hasn't public key at all. It just copying it from CorpLibrary1 by using Reflection.Emit

  • Dependency Property WPF Grid

    - by developer
    Hi All, I want to Bind the textblock text in WPF datagrid to a dependency property. Somehow, nothing gets displayed, but when I use the same textblock binding outside the grid, everything works fine. Below is my code, <Window.Resources> <Style x:Key="cellCenterAlign" TargetType="{x:Type toolkit:DataGridCell}"> <Setter Property="Template"> <Setter.Value> <ControlTemplate TargetType="{x:Type toolkit:DataGridCell}"> <Grid Background="{TemplateBinding Background}"> <ContentPresenter HorizontalAlignment="Center" VerticalAlignment="Center"/> </Grid> </ControlTemplate> </Setter.Value> </Setter> </Style> <Style x:Key="ColumnHeaderStyle" TargetType="{x:Type toolkit:DataGridColumnHeader}"> <Setter Property="VerticalContentAlignment" Value="Center" /> <Setter Property="HorizontalContentAlignment" Value="Center"/> </Style> <ObjectDataProvider MethodName="GetValues" ObjectType="{x:Type sys:Enum}" x:Key="RoleValues"> <ObjectDataProvider.MethodParameters> <x:Type TypeName="domain:SubscriptionRole"/> </ObjectDataProvider.MethodParameters> </ObjectDataProvider> <DataTemplate x:Key="myTemplate"> <StackPanel> <TextBlock Text="{Binding Path=OtherSubs}"/> </StackPanel> </DataTemplate> </Window.Resources> <Grid> <Grid.RowDefinitions> <RowDefinition Height="220"/> <RowDefinition Height="Auto"/> </Grid.RowDefinitions> <StackPanel Grid.Row="0"> <toolkit:DataGrid Name="definitionGrid" Margin="0,10,0,0" AutoGenerateColumns="False" CanUserAddRows="False" CanUserDeleteRows="False" IsReadOnly="False" RowHeight="25" FontWeight="Normal" ItemsSource="{Binding programSubscription}" ColumnHeaderStyle="{DynamicResource ColumnHeaderStyle}" SelectionMode="Single" ScrollViewer.HorizontalScrollBarVisibility="Disabled" Width="450" ScrollViewer.VerticalScrollBarVisibility="Auto" Height="200"> <toolkit:DataGrid.Columns> <toolkit:DataGridTextColumn Header="Program" Width="80" Binding="{Binding Program.JobNum}" CellStyle="{StaticResource cellCenterAlign}" IsReadOnly="True"/> <toolkit:DataGridTemplateColumn Header="Role" Width="80" CellStyle="{StaticResource cellCenterAlign}"> <toolkit:DataGridTemplateColumn.CellTemplate> <DataTemplate> <ComboBox SelectedItem="{Binding Role}" ItemsSource="{Binding Source={StaticResource RoleValues}}" Width="70"> <ComboBox.Style> <Style> <Style.Triggers> <DataTrigger Binding="{Binding Path=Role}" Value="Owner"> <Setter Property="ComboBox.Focusable" Value="False"/> <Setter Property="ComboBox.IsEnabled" Value="False"/> <Setter Property="ComboBox.IsHitTestVisible" Value="False"/> </DataTrigger> </Style.Triggers> </Style> </ComboBox.Style> </ComboBox> </DataTemplate> </toolkit:DataGridTemplateColumn.CellTemplate> </toolkit:DataGridTemplateColumn> <toolkit:DataGridCheckBoxColumn Header="Email" Width="60" Binding="{Binding ReceivesEmail}" CellStyle="{StaticResource cellCenterAlign}"/> <!--<toolkit:DataGridTextColumn Header="Others" Width="220" Binding="{Binding programSubscription1.Subscriber.Username}" CellStyle="{StaticResource cellCenterAlign}" IsReadOnly="True"/>--> <toolkit:DataGridTemplateColumn Header="Others" Width="220" CellStyle="{StaticResource cellCenterAlign}" IsReadOnly="True"> <toolkit:DataGridTemplateColumn.CellTemplate> <DataTemplate> <TextBlock Text="{Binding Path=OtherSubs}"/> </DataTemplate> </toolkit:DataGridTemplateColumn.CellTemplate> </toolkit:DataGridTemplateColumn> </toolkit:DataGrid.Columns> </toolkit:DataGrid> <TextBlock Text="{Binding Path=OtherSubs}"/> </StackPanel> <Grid Grid.Row="1"> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition Width="200"/> <ColumnDefinition Width="*"/> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <StackPanel Grid.Column="0" HorizontalAlignment="Center" VerticalAlignment="Center"> <CheckBox Content="Show Only Active Programs" IsChecked="True" Margin="0,0,8,0"/> </StackPanel> <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal" VerticalAlignment="Center" Grid.Column="1" HorizontalAlignment="Right"> <Button Content="Save" Height="23" Width="75" Margin="0,0,8,0" Click="Save_Click"/> <Button Content="Cancel" Height="23" Width="75" Margin="0,0,8,0" Click="Cancel_Click" /> </StackPanel> </Grid> </Grid> Code-Behind public partial class ProgramSubscriptions : Window { public static ObservableCollection programSubscription { get; set; } public string OtherSubs { get { return (string)GetValue(OtherSubsProperty); } set { SetValue(OtherSubsProperty, value); } } public static readonly DependencyProperty OtherSubsProperty = DependencyProperty.Register("OtherSubs", typeof(string), typeof(ProgramSubscriptions), new UIPropertyMetadata(string.Empty)); private string CurrentUsername = "test"; public ProgramSubscriptions() { InitializeComponent(); DataContext = this; LoadData(); } protected void LoadData() { programSubscription = new ObservableCollection<ProgramSubscriptionViewModel>(); if (res != null && res.TotalResults > 0) { List<ProgramSubscriptionViewModel> UserPrgList = new List<ProgramSubscriptionViewModel>(); //other.... List<ProgramSubscriptionViewModel> OtherPrgList = new List<ProgramSubscriptionViewModel>(); ArrayList myList = new ArrayList(); foreach (DomainObject obj in res.ResultSet) { ProgramSubscription prg = (ProgramSubscription)obj; if (prg.Subscriber.Username == CurrentUsername) { UserPrgList.Add(new ProgramSubscriptionViewModel(prg)); myList.Add(prg.Program.ID); } else OtherPrgList.Add(new ProgramSubscriptionViewModel(prg)); } for (int i = 0; i < UserPrgList.Count; i++) { ProgramSubscriptionViewModel item = UserPrgList[i]; programSubscription.Add(item); } //other.... for (int i = 0; i < OtherPrgList.Count; i++) { foreach (int y in myList) { ProgramSubscriptionViewModel otheritem = OtherPrgList[i]; if (y == otheritem.Program.ID) OtherSubs += otheritem.Subscriber.Username + ", "; } } } } } I posted the entire code. What exactly I want to do is in the datagridtemplatecolumn for others I want to display the usernames that are not in CurrentUsername, but they have the same program Id as the CurrentUsername. Please do let me know if there is another way that i can make this work, instead of using a dependencyproperty, althouht for testing I did put a textblock below datagrid, and it works perfectly fine.. Help!

  • Access custom attribute on method from Castle Windsor interceptor

    - by RobW
I am trying to access a custom attribute applied to a method within a castle interceptor, e.g.: [MyCustomAttribute(SomeParam = "attributeValue")] public virtual MyEntity Entity { get; set; } using the following code: internal class MyInterceptor : IInterceptor { public void Intercept(IInvocation invocation) { if (invocation.Method.GetCustomAttributes(typeof(MyCustomAttribute), true) != null) { //Do something } } } The interceptor is firing OK when the method is called but this code does not return the custom attribute. How can I achieve this?

  • WPF: ContentPresenter changing Foreground unexpectedly depending on where styles are located

    - by VLTII
    Hi, I'm having an issue with the ContentPresenter behaving unexpectedly based on whether the styles are located in the Window.Resources or in a ResourceDictionary. Specifically, I'm setting the Foreground of the default TextBlock to Black, then setting the Foreground value in my default button style to White. If the styles exits on the page like this, they work fine: <Window xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:Microsoft_Windows_Themes="clr-namespace:Microsoft.Windows.Themes;assembly=PresentationFramework.Aero" x:Class="TestBed.MainWindow" x:Name="Window" Title="MainWindow" Width="640" Height="480"> <Window.Resources> <Style TargetType="{x:Type TextBlock}"> <Setter Property="Foreground" Value="Black" /> </Style> <Style x:Key="ButtonFocusVisual"> <Setter Property="Control.Template"> <Setter.Value> <ControlTemplate> <Rectangle Stroke="Black" StrokeDashArray="1 2" StrokeThickness="1" Margin="2" SnapsToDevicePixels="true"/> </ControlTemplate> </Setter.Value> </Setter> </Style> <LinearGradientBrush x:Key="ButtonNormalBackground" EndPoint="0,1" StartPoint="0,0"> <GradientStop Color="#F3F3F3" Offset="0"/> <GradientStop Color="#EBEBEB" Offset="0.5"/> <GradientStop Color="#DDDDDD" Offset="0.5"/> <GradientStop Color="#CDCDCD" Offset="1"/> </LinearGradientBrush> <SolidColorBrush x:Key="ButtonNormalBorder" Color="#FF707070"/> <Style TargetType="{x:Type Button}"> <Setter Property="FocusVisualStyle" Value="{StaticResource ButtonFocusVisual}"/> <Setter Property="Background" Value="{StaticResource ButtonNormalBackground}"/> <Setter Property="BorderBrush" Value="{StaticResource ButtonNormalBorder}"/> <Setter Property="BorderThickness" Value="1"/> <Setter Property="Foreground" Value="White"/> <Setter Property="HorizontalContentAlignment" Value="Center"/> <Setter Property="VerticalContentAlignment" Value="Center"/> <Setter Property="Padding" Value="1"/> <Setter Property="Template"> <Setter.Value> <ControlTemplate TargetType="{x:Type Button}"> <Microsoft_Windows_Themes:ButtonChrome x:Name="Chrome" SnapsToDevicePixels="true" Background="{TemplateBinding Background}" BorderBrush="{TemplateBinding BorderBrush}" RenderDefaulted="{TemplateBinding IsDefaulted}" RenderMouseOver="{TemplateBinding IsMouseOver}" RenderPressed="{TemplateBinding IsPressed}"> <ContentPresenter HorizontalAlignment="{TemplateBinding HorizontalContentAlignment}" Margin="{TemplateBinding Padding}" VerticalAlignment="{TemplateBinding VerticalContentAlignment}" SnapsToDevicePixels="{TemplateBinding SnapsToDevicePixels}" RecognizesAccessKey="True"/> </Microsoft_Windows_Themes:ButtonChrome> <ControlTemplate.Triggers> <Trigger Property="IsKeyboardFocused" Value="true"> <Setter Property="RenderDefaulted" TargetName="Chrome" Value="true"/> </Trigger> <Trigger Property="ToggleButton.IsChecked" Value="true"> <Setter Property="RenderPressed" TargetName="Chrome" Value="true"/> </Trigger> <Trigger Property="IsEnabled" Value="false"> <Setter Property="Foreground" Value="#ADADAD"/> </Trigger> </ControlTemplate.Triggers> </ControlTemplate> </Setter.Value> </Setter> </Style> </Window.Resources> <StackPanel x:Name="LayoutRoot"> <Button Content="Button" /> </StackPanel> </Window> But if I move those same styles over to a ResourceDictionary, the Foreground of the button switches to black. For example, I have this line: <forms loginUrl="/redirecttosignin.aspx" name="NAME_HERE" requireSSL="false" timeout="60" domain=".blah.com" /> And I want to delete the "name" attribute altogether. I know I can do this to blank it: <forms xmu:key="loginUrl" loginUrl="/redirecttosignin.aspx" name="" /> But, I literally want to get the name attribute out, and leave the other attributes in tact. Couldn't find any examples of that. Thanks!

  • Creating a SelectListItem with the disabled="disabled" attribute

    - by Mark
I realize Internet Explorer ignores the disabled attribute, but I'm not seeing a way to create, via the HtmlHelper, a SelectListItem that will spit out the following HTML: <option disabled="disabled">don't click this</option> The only properties SelectListItem has are: new SelectListItem{ Name = "don't click this", Value = string.Empty, Selected = false } The only option I see is to Subclass the SelectListItem to add an Enabled property to get the value to the view Not use the HTML helper for DropDownList Create a new HtmlHelper extension that accepts my new EnablableSelectList and adds my disabled attribute.

  • Wondering why DisplayName attribute is ignored in LabelFor on an overridden property

    - by Lasse Krantz
Hi, today I got confused when doing a couple of <%=Html.LabelFor(m=>m.MyProperty)%> in ASP.NET MVC 2 and using the [DisplayName("Show this instead of MyProperty")] attribute from System.ComponentModel. As it turned out, when I put the attribute on an overridden property, LabelFor didn't seem to notice it. However, the [Required] attribute works fine on the overridden property, and the generated errormessage actually uses the DisplayNameAttribute. This is some trivial examplecode, the more realistic scenario is that I have a databasemodel separate from the viewmodel, but for convenience, I'd like to inherit from the databasemodel, add View-only properties and decorating the viewmodel with the attributes for the UI. public class POCOWithoutDataAnnotations { public virtual string PleaseOverrideMe { get; set; } } public class EditModel : POCOWithoutDataAnnotations { [Required] [DisplayName("This should be as label for please override me!")] public override string PleaseOverrideMe { get { return base.PleaseOverrideMe; } set { base.PleaseOverrideMe = value; } } [Required] [DisplayName("This property exists only in EditModel")] public string NonOverriddenProp { get; set; } } The strongly typed ViewPage<EditModel> contains: <div class="editor-label"> <%= Html.LabelFor(model => model.PleaseOverrideMe) %> </div> <div class="editor-field"> <%= Html.TextBoxFor(model => model.PleaseOverrideMe) %> <%= Html.ValidationMessageFor(model => model.PleaseOverrideMe) %> </div> <div class="editor-label"> <%= Html.LabelFor(model => model.NonOverriddenProp) %> </div> <div class="editor-field"> <%= Html.TextBoxFor(model => model.NonOverriddenProp) %> <%= Html.ValidationMessageFor(model => model.NonOverriddenProp) %> </div> The labels are then displayed as "PleaseOverrideMe" (not using the DisplayNameAttribute) and "This property exists only in EditModel" (using the DisplayNameAttribute) when viewing the page. If I post with empty values, triggering the validation with this ActionMethod: [HttpPost] public ActionResult Edit(EditModel model) { if (!ModelState.IsValid) return View(model); return View("Thanks"); } the <%= Html.ValidationMessageFor(model => model.PleaseOverrideMe) %> actually uses [DisplayName("This should be as label for please override me!")] attribute, and produces the default errortext "The This should be as label for please override me! field is required." Would some friendly soul shed some light on this?

  • ContentPresenter changing Foreground unexpectedly depending on where styles are located

    - by VLTII
    Hi, I'm having an issue with the ContentPresenter behaving unexpectedly based on whether the styles are located in the Window.Resources or in a ResourceDictionary. Specifically, I'm setting the Foreground of the default TextBlock to Black, then setting the Foreground value in my default button style to White. If the styles exits on the page like this, they work fine: <Window xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:Microsoft_Windows_Themes="clr-namespace:Microsoft.Windows.Themes;assembly=PresentationFramework.Aero" x:Class="TestBed.MainWindow" x:Name="Window" Title="MainWindow" Width="640" Height="480"> <Window.Resources> <Style TargetType="{x:Type TextBlock}"> <Setter Property="Foreground" Value="Black" /> </Style> <Style x:Key="ButtonFocusVisual"> <Setter Property="Control.Template"> <Setter.Value> <ControlTemplate> <Rectangle Stroke="Black" StrokeDashArray="1 2" StrokeThickness="1" Margin="2" SnapsToDevicePixels="true"/> </ControlTemplate> </Setter.Value> </Setter> </Style> <LinearGradientBrush x:Key="ButtonNormalBackground" EndPoint="0,1" StartPoint="0,0"> <GradientStop Color="#F3F3F3" Offset="0"/> <GradientStop Color="#EBEBEB" Offset="0.5"/> <GradientStop Color="#DDDDDD" Offset="0.5"/> <GradientStop Color="#CDCDCD" Offset="1"/> </LinearGradientBrush> <SolidColorBrush x:Key="ButtonNormalBorder" Color="#FF707070"/> <Style TargetType="{x:Type Button}"> <Setter Property="FocusVisualStyle" Value="{StaticResource ButtonFocusVisual}"/> <Setter Property="Background" Value="{StaticResource ButtonNormalBackground}"/> <Setter Property="BorderBrush" Value="{StaticResource ButtonNormalBorder}"/> <Setter Property="BorderThickness" Value="1"/> <Setter Property="Foreground" Value="White"/> <Setter Property="HorizontalContentAlignment" Value="Center"/> <Setter Property="VerticalContentAlignment" Value="Center"/> <Setter Property="Padding" Value="1"/> <Setter Property="Template"> <Setter.Value> <ControlTemplate TargetType="{x:Type Button}"> <Microsoft_Windows_Themes:ButtonChrome x:Name="Chrome" SnapsToDevicePixels="true" Background="{TemplateBinding Background}" BorderBrush="{TemplateBinding BorderBrush}" RenderDefaulted="{TemplateBinding IsDefaulted}" RenderMouseOver="{TemplateBinding IsMouseOver}" RenderPressed="{TemplateBinding IsPressed}"> <ContentPresenter HorizontalAlignment="{TemplateBinding HorizontalContentAlignment}" Margin="{TemplateBinding Padding}" VerticalAlignment="{TemplateBinding VerticalContentAlignment}" SnapsToDevicePixels="{TemplateBinding SnapsToDevicePixels}" RecognizesAccessKey="True"/> </Microsoft_Windows_Themes:ButtonChrome> <ControlTemplate.Triggers> <Trigger Property="IsKeyboardFocused" Value="true"> <Setter Property="RenderDefaulted" TargetName="Chrome" Value="true"/> </Trigger> <Trigger Property="ToggleButton.IsChecked" Value="true"> <Setter Property="RenderPressed" TargetName="Chrome" Value="true"/> </Trigger> <Trigger Property="IsEnabled" Value="false"> <Setter Property="Foreground" Value="#ADADAD"/> </Trigger> </ControlTemplate.Triggers> </ControlTemplate> </Setter.Value> </Setter> </Style> </Window.Resources> <StackPanel x:Name="LayoutRoot"> <Button Content="Button" /> </StackPanel> </Window> But if I move those same styles over to a ResourceDictionary, the Foreground of the button switches to black. • jQuery: Setting 'style' attribute of element with object

    - by JamesBrownIsDead
I saw this in our codebase the other day: link.attr('style', map({ color: '#9a4d9e', cursor: 'default' })); map is defined as: function map(map) { var cssValue = []; for (var o in map) { cssValue.push(o + ':' + map[o] + ';') } return cssValue.join(';'); } Is map necessarily? Is there a shorter way to do this? It's important to note that the "style" attribute overrides any styles set by a class added/defined in the "class" attribute.
