• .NET 4.0 Debugging Behavior

  We recently migrated to VS 2010. We installed .NET 4.0 on our test machine. When we execute a console application that throws an exception, we no longer see the exception message and stack trace printed to the console but instead see the message An unhandled win32 exception occurred in something.exe [PID]. Just-In-Time debugging this exception failed with the following error: No installed debugger has Just-In-Time debugging enabled. In Visual Studio, Just-In-Time debugging can be enabled from Tools/Options/Debugging/Just-In-Time. We do have the above setting enabled. What do we need to do to return to the behavior we had previously?

• Loading xml with Jquery - why doesn't this work

  I have regular javascript code and am trying to utilize JQuery just to load and parse an xml file. I have the following: function loadXml() { $(function() { $.ajax({ type: "GET", url: "my_file.xml", dataType: "xml", success: parseXml }); }); } function parseXml() { alert("Parsing..."); } When calling loadXml I cannot get the callback success function to execute. I am running this all locally and my_file.xml resides in the same directory as this javascript. Any ideas?

• How to setup Eclipse PDT on a bare Windows box?

  I have installed Eclipse PDT All-In-One and nothing works (I can edit PHP source but cannot execute any PHP Scripts). Do I also need to install my own PHP interpreter? Do I need XAMPP? WAMP? Cygwin? XDebug? Zend? I'm looking for the smallest amount of stuff that I need to install to get a working PHP IDE, starting with an empty install of Windows Vista.

• SQL statement HAVING MAX(some+thing)=some+thing

  I'm having trouble with Microsoft Access 2003, it's complaining about this statement: select cardnr from change where year(date)<2009 group by cardnr having max(time+date) = (time+date) and cardto='VIP' What I want to do is, for every distinct cardnr in the table change, to find the row with the latest (time+date) that is before year 2009, and then just select the rows with cardto='VIP'. This validator says it's OK, Access says it's not OK. This is the message I get: "you tried to execute a query that does not include the specified expression 'max(time+date)=time+date and cardto='VIP' and cardnr=' as part of an aggregate function." Could someone please explain what I'm doing wrong and the right way to do it? Thanks

  I am using SQLite as my db during development, and I want to postpone actually creating a final database until my domains are fully mapped.   I have a data structure where an entity has times stored as an int (minutes into the day) for fast comparison. The entity also has a Foreign Key reference back to a TimeZone table which contains the .NET CLR ID Name and it's Standard Time/Daylight Time acronyms. Since this information is stored as time-zone insensitive - I was wondering how in LINQ to SQL I could convert this into a UTC DateTime for comparison against other times that will be in UTC. Just to be clear this conversion has to be done server-side so that I can execute filtering on the SQL Server and not the client. I am using .NET 3.5 SP1 and SQL Server 2008.

• SQL Server uncorrelated subquery very slow

  I have a simple, uncorrelated subquery that performs very poorly on SQL Server. I'm not very experienced at reading execution plans, but it looks like the inner query is being executed once for every row in the outer query, even though the results are the same each time. What can I do to tell SQL Server to execute the inner query only once? • NGINX/PHP downloading instead of executing

  I have an NGINX server with fastcgi/PHP running on it. I need to add userdirs to it, but I can't get PHP to execute the files - it just asks me if I want to download it. It does work without the userdir (eg: it works on physibots.info/hugs.php, but not physibots.info/~kisses/hugs.php) Any help is greatly appreciated. • Magento cache wrong read permissions?

  There seems to be a problem in Magento's reading of the var/cache directory. I've disabled Full Page Caching for testing. When I execute the bash command chmod -R 777var/cache/` before loading the page, it loads ~3 seconds quicker (the time it takes before 'mage::dispatch::routers_match' is reached in the Profiler is reduced from ~4 seconds to ~1 second). This speed-up remains a while but then is lost until the chmod is called again. I'm guessing this has to do with writing permissions somehow? The odd thing is, the cache contents are afaik owned by the process that is executing magento (the web user). Does anyone have any clues what could be the problem or what could be changed to prevent this?

  Hi, I Have a DataBase in my project With Table named 'ProcessData' and columns named 'Start_At' (Type: DateTime) and 'End_At' (Type: DateTime) . When I try to enter a new record into this table, it enter the data in the following format: 'YYYY/MM/DD HH:mm', when I actualy want it to be in that format: 'YYYY/MM/DD HH:mm:ss' (the secondes dosen't apper). Does anyone know why, and what should I do in order to fix this? • What is the Perl equivalent to C's #include? [closed]

  Possible Duplicate: How do I include functions from another file in my Perl script? I have a couple simple perl scripts that share some subroutines. I'd like to pull those subroutines out into another file, but I'm not sure how to go about doing that. All I need is an equivalent to C's #include. I found a couple things online about creating modules, but that seems like overkill for what I'm doing. Is there a way to just tell perl to load/execute another perl script inline, so it's treated as if it's just part of the file (like #include in C)?

  Hello, I'm writing an application that runs "things" to a schedule. Idea being that the database contains assembly, method information and also the parameter values. The timer will come along, reflect the method to be run, add the parameters and then execute the method. Everything is fine except for the parameters. So, lets say the method accepts an ENUM of CustomerType where CustomerType has two values of CustomerType.Master and CustomerType.Associate. EDIT I don't the type of parameter that will be getting passed in. ENUM used as an example END OF EDIT We want to run Method "X" and pass in parameter "CustomerType.Master". In the database, there will be a varchar entry of "CustomerType.Master". How do I convert the string "CustomerType.Master" into a type of CustomerType with a value of "Master" generically?   I'm writing prepared statements that are supposed to insert data into a table, on a database that's been pre-selected in the variable $GLOBALS['mysqli']. The connection has been tested, and that's not the problem I'm having. I'm only running into trouble whenever my prepared statement involves INSERT INTO. I know the tablename, and field names are correct, but $stmt is ALWAYS false. • How to be notified when a script's background job completes?

  My question is very similar to this one except that my background process was started from a script. I could be doing something wrong but when I try this simple example: #!/bin/bash set -mb # enable job control and notification sleep 5 & I never receive notification when the sleep background command finishes. However, if I execute the same directly in the terminal, $ set -mb $ sleep 5 & [1]+ Done sleep 5 I see the output that I expect. I'm using bash on cygwin. I'm guessing that it might have something to do with where the output is directed, but trying various output redirection, I'm not getting any closer?

• How do I render a partial to a string from within a filter attached to a controller

  I have some code I need to use in multiple controllers in a rails 1.0 application (I can't, for strange reasons upgrade to a newer rails). I've extracted the relevant code into a filer object, and I'm using the around_filter construct to execute it. Before the extract, I was using the method render_to_string() to get the contents of a rendered partial into a string. However, this method is protected, so I am unable to access it from within my Filter object. As a workaround, I tried adding this to my ApplicationController: def render_to_string(*a) super(*a) end this seems to have remedied the protection level issue, but now I get the error: Can only render or redirect once per action When no such error occurred before the extraction. Why? Is there a different approach I should take here?
