  • How to convert a string into a Point in C#

    I have a list of strings of the format "x,y". I would like to make them all into Points. The best Point constructor I can find takes two ints. What is the best way in C# to turn "14,42" into new Point(14,42);? I know the Regex for doing that is /(\d+),(\d+)/, but I'm having a hard time turning those two match groups into ints in C#. any help you could offer would be appreciated.

  • auto indent in vim string replacement new line?

    I'm using the following command to auto replace some code (adding a new code segment after an existing segment) %s/my_pattern/\0, \r some_other_text_i_want_to_insert/ The problem is that with the \r, some_other_text_i_want_to_insert gets inserted right after the new line: mycode( some_random_text my_pattern ) would become mycode( some_random_text my_pattern some_other_text_i_want_to_insert <--- this line is NOT indented ) instead of mycode( some_random_text my_pattern some_other_text_i_want_to_insert <--- this line is now indented ) i.e. the new inserted line is not indented. Is there any option in vim or trick that I can make the newly inserted line indented? Thanks.

  • Activator.CreateInstance(string) and Activator.CreateInstance<T>() difference

    No, this is not a question about generics. I have a Factory pattern with several classes with internal constructors (I don't want them being instantiated if not through the factory). My problem is that CreateInstance fails with a "No parameterless constructor defined for this object" error unless I pass "true" on the non-public parameter. Example // Fails Activator.CreateInstance(type); // Works Activator.CreateInstance(type, true); I wanted to make the factory generic to make it a little simpler, like this: public class GenericFactory<T> where T : MyAbstractType { public static T GetInstance() { return Activator.CreateInstance<T>(); } } However, I was unable to find how to pass that "true" parameter for it to accept non-public constructors (internal). Did I miss something or it isn't possible?

    Hello All: I am an issue while converting "March 16-17" to DateTime and saving it to SQL server. "March 16-17" as it looks, read as March 16 to March 17, which in my case is invalid, but C# DateTime.TryParse() is treating "March 16 -17" as March 16, 2017 which is wrong, and saving the data in SQL server. SQL server treats "March 16-17" as invalid. So, can some body tell me how to use SQL server datetime validation in C#. Thanks Ashwani

    I am setting up some redirects. I want to redirect the following URL: /cms/index.php?cat_id=2 to the following URL: /flash-chromatography The rule I currently have is as follows: RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} ^cat_id=2$ [NC] RewriteRule ^cms/index\.php$ /flash-chromatography [L,R=301] This rule is almost perfect apart from it redirect the URL to the following: /flash-chromatography?cat_id=2 So you see my problem is it has kept the ?cat_id=2 part when I don't want it to. How do I stop it keeping this bit?

    I have a PHP MVC framework I've built from scratch which uses the traditional domain.com/controller/action URL routing. While I'm currently handling the below conversion in the router I'd like to replace them in the URL for cosmetic reasons. For example: controller/action?filter=bank Becomes: controller/action/filter/bank I've done a bit of experimentation with a regex but can't seem to find a match. Current code is: names = active_projects.collect {|proj| [proj.name, proj.id]} I have tried to add a truncate function to the block, but am getting undefined method for class error.     My PL/SQL procedure returns a cursor. It always returns data. I fetch (oci_fetch_assoc) it and save it in an array. If results were found the keys of the array will be strings. If the cursor didn't find data, it will return value 0, thus the key of the array will be numeric. while($data = oci_fetch_assoc($cursor)){ if(!isset($data[0])){ ... } ... ... } What's the best way to check that the array is not just 0, but contains data?     Hi, I have an Indian company data set and need to extract the City and Zip from the address field: Address Field Example: Gowripuram West, Sengunthapuram Post, Near L.G.B., Karur, Tamilnadu, Karur - 639 002, India As you can see the City is Karur and the zip is followed after the - (hyphen). I need the PHP code to match [city] - [zip] Not sure how to do this I can find the Zip after the Hypen but not sure how to find the City, please note the City can be 2 words.     I need to return a full directory name from inside a specified directory that contains .default in the folder name. Basically I'm adding a line in a backup script to backup firefox bookmarks, but the profile name is going to be different on every machine and I need a way to find the folder the bookmarks.html file resides without knowing the firefox profile name I've looked at FIND and FINDSTR but neither seem to be what I need. I want to check for the name to be valid, not for the file to exist. Examples: // Some valid names test under_score .dotted-name // Some specific names colon:name // valid under UNIX OSes, but not on Windows what? // valid under UNIX OSes, but still not on Windows How would I achieve this ? Is there some Qt built-in function ? I'd like to avoid creating an empty file, but if there is no other reliable way, I would still like to see how to do it in a "clean" way. Many thanks.
