  • multiple dependent android projects in eclipse

    Hi there! I just started to play with android dev and java+eclipse is pretty new to me. I managed to create simple project and run it on my device. Now I want to create simple game (more of them actually) and I would love to use shared code base for all of them (game loop, initialization, etc..). Problem is that I have no idea how to correctly do this. I created android project called engine with all basic stuff that I need and made it work on device. Now I tried to create another project in same workspace called mygame. Main class (activity) of mygame is MyGameApp which inherits from EngineApp (main activity of my engine project) which inherits from Activity. I added engine project into required projects in mygame build path tab in properties. Problem is that when I try to run this project it crashes on ClassNotFoundException trying to find my MyGameApp class. Any help (or pointer to some articles that explain how this is done) is greatly appreciated. few hours of googling didn't help much :/

    I have a MySQL table with the following columns: id(int), date (timestamp), starttime(varchar), endtime(varchar), ... I need to find time slots that are occupied by two or more rows. Here is an example table id| date |starttime|endtime | __|_____________________|_________|________| 1 | 2010-02-16 17:37:36 |14:35:00 |17:37:00| 2 | 2010-02-17 12:24:22 |12:13:00 |14:32:00| 3 | 2010-02-16 12:24:22 |15:00:00 |18:00:00| Rows 1 and 3 collide, and need to be corrected by the user. I need a query to identify such colliding rows - something that would give me the ID of all rows in the collision.   • Improving the efficiency of multiple concurrent Core Animation animations

    I have a view in my app that is very similar to the month view in the built-in Calendar app. There's a subview that holds the individual cells (a custom UIView subclass that draws text into its layer), and when the user navigates to the next "month", I create the new cells and slide the view to show them. When the animation stops, I remove the old, hidden cells and set things up so it's ready to go for the next animation. This all works nicely. However, I'd like to animate the cells' text color, as in the Calendar app, so that the outgoing ones transition to a lighter color and the incoming ones transition to a darker color. The problems is that I can have as many as 70 cells, so doing individual animations is very slow -- between 5-10 fps on my iPhone 3GS. I'm trying to find a less computationally intense way of doing this. My reading of the Shark results is that the majority of the time is spent redrawing the text for each frame for each frame. This makes sense, since text rendering is hardly the cheapest operation. I've considered creating a second view -- one holding the "outgoing" state and one holding the "incoming" state and using a single opacity animation to gradually reveal the updated cells while both are sliding. I'm concerned that instead of having 70 cells, I'll have 140, which seems like a lot of views. So, is that too many views or would there be a better way of doing this?

    I'm setting up a directory application for which I need to have two separate interfaces for the same Users table. Basically, administrators use the Users controller and views to list, edit, and add users, while non-admins need a separate interface which lists users in a completely different manner. To do this, would I be able to just set up another controller with different views but which accesses the Users model? Sorry if this is a simple question, but I've had a hard time finding how to do this.

    I'm having a hard time figuring this out. I know pictureBox only lets you display one image a time. I'm trying to create a pictureBox for each image in my collection. For instance if I have ten images in my List, then the method should create ten pictureBox for those respective images so each one is displayes in a pictureBox. I'm not sure which would be better a for loop or a foreach loop instead. every time the loop increments both the varaiables XCoordinate and YCoordinate which are the location of the PictireBox shoulld increase so that the PictureBox won't overlap one another in the Form. The reason for the method is that the number of images in the collection can change everytime the application will run. That's why I'm not creating them manually. So after its done all the pictures in the list should appear in a picture.Box. The box should be all the same size the only difference is the location on the form and the images inside them. Please any help and I will be grateful

So I can always work on task B from a clean copy.   • asp.net multiple textbox validation

    Hi, I currently have 3 textbox controls on my page. I also have a required valdiator of each of the textboxes. However I only want the validator for a textbox to fire if there is text in either of the other 2 textboxes. If all 3 textboxes are empty then no validators should fire. Is there any way I can do this in javascript/jquery as I want the user to get the best experience possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

But I don't know how to compare two different ones using "this . I simply wrote "this2" to replace another instance of "this". What could I do to replace this "this2" to still be able to compare two card decks?

We have a static class called ResourceHandler, that should lock these threads on given objects. The requirement is that n Lock() invokes should be realeased by m Release() invokes, where n = [0..] and m = [0..]. So no matter how many locks was performed on single object, only one Release call is enough to unlock all. Even further if o object is not locked, Release call should perform nothing. Also we need to know what objects are locked on what threads.     Hello, I have a database full of rows like id,action,date 2,2,2010-03-01 3,2,2010-03-01 4,3,2010-03-01 5,3,2010-03-01 6,4,2010-02-01 7,4,2010-02-01 And I want to select all the count all the 2's and all the 3's and all the 4's. But I don't want to have to do 3 different SELECT COUNT() commands, is there a way to do this in a single command? Note, I want to display this as something like Action 2 = 2 Action 3 = 2 Action 4 = 2 (etc etc). And I will also need to specific a date (so it only counts all the 2,3,4,etc for dates between 2010-02-03 and 2010-03-01 for example)

    Goal If the following description is hard follow, please see the example "before" and "after" to see a straightforward example. I have bartering data, with unique trade ids, and two sides of the trade. Side1 and Side2 are baskets, lists of item ids that represent both sides of the barter transaction. I'd like to count the frequency each ITEM appears in TRADES. E.g, if item "001" appeared in 3 trades, I'd have a count of 3 (ignoring how many times the item appeared in each trade). Further, I'd like to do this with the plyr ddply function. (If you're interested as to my motivation, I working over many hundreds of thousands of transactions and am already using a ddply to calculate several other summary statistics. I'd like to add this to the ddply I'm already using, rather than calculate it after, and merge it into the ddply output.... sorry if that was difficult to follow.) In terms of pseudo code I'm working off of: merge each row of Side1 and Side2 by row, get unique() appearances of each item id apply table() function transpose and relabel output from table Example of the structure of my data, and the output I desire.
