• Bash alias to open Vim at last edit mark

  The mark " in Vim takes you to your last edit position. I want to create an alias that will open my Vim instance and jump to that mark; something which is obviously extremely useful. This works from the command line: $ vim -c "'\"" File.cpp Now I want to make an alias for this: $ alias v='vim -c "'\"" File.cpp' Well that's not going to work! You need to escape the first single quote you say... $ alias v='vim -c "\'\"" File.cpp' Hmm. That didn't work either... So I try a whole lot of variations of single quoted and double quoted madness, bang my head against the table and load up stackoverflow in my browser, and here we are. How do I properly escape this alias?

  So I'm using Visual C++ 6.0, and trying to compile some source code, but upon compilation I get this: Linking... LINK : fatal error LNK1104: cannot open file "Iphlpapi.lib" Error executing link.exe. I'm using the correct SDK, and the directories are correct. I've checked, double checked, and triple checked. The file is the specified directory. I can't figure out what the problem is. Any ideas? Service Pack 6 SDK for Windows Server 2003 SP1 //Sounds odd, since I'm running XP SP3, but this has worked for me in the past. Like I've said, it worked in the past for me, flawlessly. I don't understand why it won't work now.

  Hello, I am on a MediaTemple Dedicated Virtual server and have enabled Pear using the instructions found at: http://kb.mediatemple.net/questions/514/Enabling+PEAR+by+setting+your+open_basedir+and+include_path Here's the problem... In my PHP script, I have this: require_once 'Crypt/HMAC.php'; When I execute the script, I get this message: S3::require_once(Crypt/HMAC.php) [s3.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory It's a script for integrating with Amazon S3. When we were on the Grid service it worked fine. I've only had problems since moving to a DV server. I installed the HMAC pear module using this command: pear install Crypt_HMAC Then re-started the server. Still no luck. Any ideas? Thanks a bunch if you can help :)

When using the directional buttons (up down left right) on a Playstation 1 controller attached to the device, the mouse cursor moves to the top, bottom, left, and right edges of the screen respectively. Buttons are unresponsive. The joypads attached to the device cannot be used in any games or other programs. Attempted remedies: Creating a symlink from the eventX to js0 does not solve the problem. Addl Info: joydev is loaded and running peroperly according to LSMOD. evtest can be run on the created eventX (sudo evtest /dev/input/event14 in my case) and the buttons and axes all register inputs. Aparently, this device used to work flawlessly on kernel 2.4.x systems, and even as late as ubunto 10.04. Perhaps the Joydev rules for identifying joypads has changed? Currently, this kind of bug is affecting a few different type of controller adapters, but since this is the one that i PERSONALLY have (and has been driving me my own special brand of crazy), its the one im documenting. What i think should be happening instead: The device should be registering js0 through js3, one for each port, or JS0 that will handle all of the connected devices with different numbered axes for each connected joypad. Either way, it should work as a joystick and stop controlling the mouse cursor. Please help!

• Universal Authentication to Google Data API?

  Hey, I want to be able to have say 10 admin users store all their documents on google docs for a domain ('http://docs.google.com/a/domain.com'), and have everyone else be able to view them through 'domain.com/documents'. I'm just not certain how the whole authentication thing works in that case. Should I use OAuth? Or could I just use ClientLogin for say the root/global admin, and anytime someone goes to the site, they login as that? That works for personal docs, but it doesn't seem to be working for Google Apps. I would like it so the user has no idea they're accessing google docs, so I don't want them to have to say "Yes, Authenticate this App with Google", as seen in this Doclist Manager App. The app is basically: Admin stores a bunch of forms and documents User uses form and views documents the admin has posted ... so there's no need to access the user's Google Docs. But it seems like AuthSub and OAuth are addressing that instead... Thanks for the tips.

  I'm new to Pascal and FastReport. This question can probably be answered without knowledge of FastReport. Pascal is Delphi. FastReport4. I have a text box accepting an 8 character string as input. Each character should be numeric. I'm attempting to validate each character as numeric. I've tried using the val function... Procedure Val(S : String; var R: Real; Code : Integer); begin end; procedure thisinputOnChange(Sender: TfrxComponent); var S : String; error : Integer; R : Real; begin S := thisinput.lines.text; Val (S, R, error); If error > 0 then Button2.enabled := False; end; I got this code online. The explanation says that the function will return an error with a code greater than zero if the character cannot be converted to an integer. Is that explanation correct? Am I misinterpreting? Right now I am trying to set a button's enabled property to false if the validation fails. I might change that to a message. For now, I would like to get it to work by setting the button property. I'm not sure if I should be using the onChange event or another event. I'm also not sure if I need to send the input to the val function in a loop. Like I said, I'm just learning how to use this function. I am able to validate the length.   I have code examples from some of my previous work that help me to post form values to a web page (login credentials) and retrieve the text from that page. Now I want to pass in form values (login credentials again) but actually open that web page in a browser given those credentials. How do I do that? I'm not doing anything nefarious. In our CRM app (home-grown as it is), I want to create a link button that opens our web site's protected products page given the user's credentials (based on the user's login credentials). Normally, I'd copy the user's credentials in our login page which then takes me to the products page. I'm trying to do this now by just clicking a link button. Any suggestions?

  I have some URLs in an Excel file which I have saved as a .htm (webpage) file. I then view these in a browser via our wiki (MediaWiki). This is done using an iFrame embedded in the wiki page. So, just for clarity, the link is in a htm file viewed via an iFrame in a wiki page. When I click on that link, it opens inside the iFrame. What I want is for it to open in a new browser window. (This should be the user's default browser since some use Internet Explorer and some Firefox.) The final twist is that some users have Windows XP and some Solaris. Help greatly appreciated.

If a customer doesn't have flash installed, it doesn't display any messages, it simply doesn't show any graphs. I've noticed that if I go to other websites that need flash, I get a yellow bar at the top of my firefox window that offers to "Install Missing Plugin". I assume something in the HTML lets firefox know that this webpage needs flash. What code do I need to add to my website to make this work?
