  • ASP.NET MVC 3 Hosting :: Deploying ASP.NET MVC 3 web application to server where ASP.NET MVC 3 is not installed

    You can built sample application on ASP.NET MVC 3 for deploying it to your hosting first. To try it out first put it to web server where ASP.NET MVC 3 installed. In this posting I will tell you what files you need and where you can find them. Here are the files you need to upload to get application running on server where ASP.NET MVC 3 is not installed. Also you can deploying ASP.NET MVC 3 web application to server where ASP.NET MVC 3 is not installed like this example: you can change reference to System.Web.Helpers.dll to be the local one so it is copied to bin folder of your application. First file in this list is my web application dll and you don’t need it to get ASP.NET MVC 3 running. All other files are located at the following folder: C:\Program Files\Microsoft ASP.NET\ASP.NET Web Pages\v1.0\Assemblies\ If there are more files needed in some other scenarios then please leave me a comment here. And… don’t forget to convert the folder in IIS to application. While developing an application locally, this isn’t a problem. But when you are ready to deploy your application to a hosting provider, this might well be a problem if the hoster does not have the ASP.NET MVC assemblies installed in the GAC. Fortunately, ASP.NET MVC is still bin-deployable. If your hosting provider has ASP.NET 3.5 SP1 installed, then you’ll only need to include the MVC DLL. If your hosting provider is still on ASP.NET 3.5, then you’ll need to deploy all three. It turns out that it’s really easy to do so. Also, ASP.NET MVC runs in Medium Trust, so it should work with most hosting providers’ Medium Trust policies. It’s always possible that a hosting provider customizes their Medium Trust policy to be draconian. Deployment is easy when you know what to copy in archive for publishing your web site on ASP.NET MVC 3 or later versions. What I like to do is use the Publish feature of Visual Studio to publish to a local directory and then upload the files to my hosting provider. If your hosting provider supports FTP, you can often skip this intermediate step and publish directly to the FTP site. The first thing I do in preparation is to go to my MVC web application project and expand the References node in the project tree. Select the aforementioned three assemblies and in the Properties dialog, set Copy Local to True. Now just right click on your application and select Publish. This brings up the following Publish wizard Notice that in this example, I selected a local directory. When I hit Publish, all the files needed to deploy my app are available in the directory I chose, including the assemblies that were in the GAC.   • Cannot connect to secure wireless with Netgear wna3100 USB

    I have installed Ubuntu 11.10. I used a wired connection to download and install all of the updates. When I tried to use a Netgear WNA3100 wireless USB network adapter, it failed. Much searching and trying things I was finally able to get it working by disabling security on my router. I have verified this by disabling security and I was able to connect. When I enabled security (WPA2 PSK), the connection failed. What is necessary to enable security (WPA2 PSK) and still use the Netgear USB interface?   • How to Deal with a Difficult Boss?

    I have some problems with my boss, it's quite a long story :) About one year ago, I'm working as team leader of project X. Everything work fine until one of my fellow (staff) flame me that I have problem with ALL member in our team, that guy also flame me to other staff that I report them with a poor performance. My boss call me and blame me without ask a single question. I try to explain everything to my boss but she doesn't listen to me. One month later, we have a meeting. This is only team leader's meeting, my boss talk about this problem with other team leader. There are two person who have worked with this guy, they all say "This guy cannot trust". That guy had do same thing same problem with his former team leader. Finally, everything's clear and I think I gain some trust from her. I can say that I'm the best team leader in her hand, as only project that archive more than 120% profit. Then I move to new project, this is bigger project and I can manage it quite good. But I have a problem again. One of my staff always leave and does not follow our company rule, I call him to talk and tell him that you cannot do this because that's not allow in our company. He also changed working time record file of himself, then I call him to warn again. This time he ask me to move to another project so I go to talk to my boss. She come to my building when I'm not there (other staff call me) and talk with that guy (who have problem with me); I think she still not trust me. And AGAIN, she believe what that guy said and I got blamed. I want to know how can I deal with this kind of boss, or is it better to find a new job, or any other suggestion about this problem? Thank you :) Additional information: Even my job title is "Team Leader" but it's my responsibility to manage staff working time and their behavior. This responsible is my company's rule.

  • Prevent Apache restarting automatically after upgrading packages

    Following on from an earlier question: Is there a way to download security updates and notify admin without installing the update? A large number of packages interact with Apache (especially PHP) such that security updates to those packages can cause the server to attempt to restart the service. While my earlier question was answered, I'm now thinking that I need a different solution. So - is there are way to allow security updates to be applied using apt, have an email sent to an administrator, and, most importantly, prevent services from being restarted at the end of the installation/update process? The administrator will then be able to log in and restart the service manually.

    After reviewing this book, I am really amazed with it. I really recommend it, specially if you work with these tools (BPEL, SOA Suite and/or OSB), if you are a SOA Architect and/or if your work is focused on production environments.This book provides valuable and useful information for monitoring and automation tasks.In the books is very clearly explained and with screenshots (which makes it even easier to read, understand and follow) how to perform several tasks that are necessary to keep a correct performance on the production environments and the subtasks that must be executed on them.The test sections on chapters 3, 10 and 13 (SOAP tests for partner links and BPEL processes, service tests on web applications, and SOAP test OSB proxy and business service endpoints) look specially interesting for me and I really liked to see that there is special emphasis on the use of WebLogic Server as well.For further information and order the book, please go to the Packt Publishing web site.

  • SOASuite 11.1.1.4 : Error Logging into BPM11g Composer?

    Hey all, I’ve just installed SOA Suite 11.1.1.4 and noticed a few funnies which people might hit, thankfully each of them have an easy solution.   1. Some applications are installed but dont appear to work? If when you install SOASuite you may notice that the following applications dont appear to work, however they do appear as deployments in Weblogic Server Console e.g.  SOA Composer (composer), FMW Welcome Page Application (11.1.0.0.0) and some of the adaptors. If they appear in the deployments list state as “installed” and not Active, then its likely that they haven't been targeted to a specific server.   The solution is to target the application the desired managed server , e.g. AdminServer in a development environment. This is done by selecting the application, tab “Targets”, select all components, Button[change Targets] and select the appropriate server. This change can be done without restarting the Weblogic Server 2. You might find that when you try to log into the BPM Composer at http://machine:7001/bpm/composer , the login screen will appear but you cant log in. The error log might mention the following   The solution to this is two fold, a) When creating the domain, avoid using 127.0.0.1 as the Listener address, or “Any Addresses”, if this is a development machine create an alias in your /etc/hosts file and then use this alias in the domain creation wizard. e.g.   my host file contains an entry     mypc     127.0.0.1   And in the Fusion middleware Configuration wizard   Twill then work!   if it still doesnt you can try setting the ServerURL attribute to http://mypc in the SoaInfraMBean instead of blank. This is accomplished by using Enterprise Manager. Use the System MBean Browser to navigate to Application Defined MBeans->oracle.as.soainfra.config->[ server]->SoaInfraConfig->soa-infra. Then changing the value of 'ServerURL' to http://mypc   Failing that give support a call….

  • upgrade from ubuntu 13.04 to 13.10 causes vmware workstation 9 problems

    so, upgrade caused problem where running vmware ws 9 needed patches to accommodate linux kernal 3.11. I applied those fixes I found that others reported, and now i can only run vmware ws 9 from sudo. If i run it from standard user, it says it wants to recompile modules, which it does not do unless I open up a terminal and run sudo vmware. that works, but would like it to work correctly, have the modules that are recompiled stick. when running under sudo vmware, it does recompile with errors.. (vmware-unity-helper:13019): Gtk-WARNING **: Unable to locate theme engine in module_path: "murrine", and starts up and works ok. any ideas? thanks for any help you can provide
