  • soapUI - any way to automatically generate input data?

    - by Graham Clark
    I've just started looking at soapUI, and it seems to be a pretty good web service testing tool. It can automatically generate request SOAP messages with all the elements from the WSDL in there, no problem. However, what would be splendid is if it could automatically generate sample random input data, using the WSDL as a guide. For example, if my service is expecting a string, an enumeration, and a date-time, it seems like it wouldn't be too hard for the tool to generate one or more messages with valid values. Is such a feature available in soapUI, either natively or as a plug-in, or am I over-simplifying this?

  • jquery ui autocomplete not working in ie8 (until page refresh)

    - by Andy Simpson
    Hello all, I am using jquery ui autocomplete it is working absolutely fine in all browsers except ie8. I have been doing some testing and there seems to be a strange bug. When I click on a link leading to the relevant page there is the following error generated by ie8 when I start typing in the autocomplete box: 'object doesn't support this property or method' this error points to my development jquery(1.4.2) file at line 4955, char 5 which is the following line: return new window.XMLHttpRequest(); However, if I simply reload the page the autocomplete works. I have added a random bit of data to be called with the autocomplete as I read that ie8 caches it ajax get requests but this does not seem to have solved the problem. Could there be a problem with the timing of the loading of all the relevant files including jquery? If so, how would I fix this? Any other clever ideas?! Andy

  • Can't focus fancybox iframe input

If someone could take a look at this code and let me know what's wrong, that'd be great. Gracias. /* Function to resize the height of the fancybox window */ (function($){ $.fn.resize = function(width, height) { if (!width || (width == "inherit")) inner_width = parent.$("#fancybox-inner").width(); if (!height || (height == "inherit")) inner_height = parent.$("#fancybox-inner").height(); inner_width = width; outer_width = (inner_width + 14); inner_height = height; outer_height = (inner_height + 14); parent.$("#fancybox-inner").css({'width':inner_width, 'height':inner_height}); parent.$("#fancybox-outer").css({'width':outer_width, 'height':outer_height}); } })(jQuery); $(document).ready(function(){ var pasturl = parent.location.href; $("a.iframe#register").fancybox({ 'transitionIn' : 'fade', 'transitionOut' : 'fade', 'speedIn' : 600, 'speedOut' : 350, 'width' : 450, 'height' : 385, 'scrolling' : 'no', 'autoScale' : false, 'autoDimensions' : false, 'overlayShow' : true, 'overlayOpacity' : 0.7, 'padding' : 7, 'hideOnContentClick': false, 'titleShow' : false, 'onStart' : function() { $.fn.resize(450,385); }, 'onComplete' : function() { $("#realname").focus(); }, 'onClosed' : function() { $(".warningmsg").hide(); $(".errormsg").hide(); $(".successfulmsg").hide(); } }); $("a.iframe#login").fancybox({ 'transitionIn' : 'fade', 'transitionOut' : 'fade', 'speedIn' : 600, 'speedOut' : 350, 'width' : 400, 'height' : 250, 'scrolling' : 'no', 'autoScale' : false, 'overlayShow' : true, 'overlayOpacity' : 0.7, 'padding' : 7, 'hideOnContentClick': false, 'titleShow' : false, 'onStart' : function() { $.fn.resize(400,250); }, 'onComplete' : function() { $("#login_username").focus(); }, 'onClosed' : function() { $(".warningmsg").hide(); $(".errormsg").hide(); $(".successfulmsg").hide(); } }); $("#register").click(function() { $("#login_form").hide(); $(".registertext").hide(); $.fn.resize(450,385); $("label").addClass("#register_form label"); }); $("#login").click(function() { $.fn.resize(400,250); $("label").addClass("#login_form label"); }); $("#register_form").bind("submit", function() { $(".warningmsg").hide(); $(".errormsg").hide(); $(".successfulmsg").hide(); if ($("#realname").val().length < 1 || $("#password").val().length < 1 || $("#username").val().length < 1) { $("#no_fields").addClass("warningmsg").show().resize(inherit,405); return false; } if ($("#password").val() != $("#password2").val()) { $("#no_pass_match").addClass("errormsg").show().resize(); return false; } $.fancybox.showActivity(); $.post( "../../admin/users/create_submit.php", { realname:$('#realname').val(), email:$('#email').val(), username:$('#username').val(), password:MD5($('#password').val()), rand:Math.random() } ,function(data){ if(data == "OK"){ $(".registerbox").hide(); $.fancybox.hideActivity(); $.fn.resize(inherit,300); $("#successful_login").addClass("successfulmsg").show(); } else if(data == "user_taken"){ $.fancybox.hideActivity(); $("#user_taken").addClass("errormsg").show().resize(inherit,405); $("#username").val(""); } else { $.fancybox.hideActivity(); document.write("Well, that was weird.   • Android AppWidget TextView: How to set background color at run time

    - by Amit
    I am trying to create an AppWidget, in which the background color of a TextView changes at random at specified periodic interval. The TextView is defined in layout xml file as <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:id="@+id/widget" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:orientation="vertical" > <TextView android:id="@+id/message" android:background="#ff99ff" android:text="Hello Widget" /> </LinearLayout> In update method, i have loaded the layout as RemoteViews remoteView=new RemoteViews(context.getPackageName(),R.layout.widget_message); To change the background of TextView i used the following statement remoteView.setInt(R.id.message, "setBackgroundResource", R.color.col_1); But i am getting a widget saying problem loading widget. If i remove the above line everything works fine. LogCat says: updateAppWidget couldn't find any view, using error view android.widget.RemoteViews$ActionException: view: android.widget.TextView can't use method with RemoteViews: setBackgroundResource(int)

  • Biztalk Ordered Delivery direct bound to multiple ports

    - by WtFudgE
    Hi, another ordered delivery problem. We have an orchestration which is bound to a send port which has ordered delivery true. Another send port also picks up these messages through filtering, this port also has ordered delivery. Now for some reason when there are multiple ports using the message and one of these is directly port binded only one of the ports is being used. I mean that not both ports give an output. If i unenlist one of the ports it's always outputted, this works in both ways. We used to have this with 2 ports which both used filters instead, this worked but we had to change one to a direct port, the problem occured since then. Also the choice of ports for BizTalk is pretty random, because on our server it for example chooses port A and when I recreate the same problem on my local machine it for example choses port B. It's kind of a weird problem and we have no idea what could be the cause.

  • Unit Tests in Visual Studio 2010

    - by Ben
    Hi, i am trying to create a Unit test for a WinForm in a Visual Studio 2010 project. I add a new "Coded UI Test" to my project, open up the code file, then right click and select "Generate Code for Coded UI Test" - "Use Coded UI Test builder". I then start my application up, select "Record" on the UI Map control. I run my tests (in this case simply select a textbox, type in a random value, them click a button). I then select "Generate Code" from the UI Map control which generates the code which the test will use. When running this test, i get the error: Test method HelloWorldTest.CodedUITest1.CodedUITestMethod1 threw exception: Microsoft.VisualStudio.TestTools.UITest.Extension.UITestControlNotFoundException: The playback failed to find the control with the given search properties. Additional Details: TechnologyName: 'MSAA' ControlType: 'Window' Name: 'Form1' ClassName: 'WindowsForms10.Window' --- System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException: Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component. Does anyone know where i am going wrong? Thanks

  • 10 lines of code per day is the global average!? -- true?

    - by Earlz
    Ok so last year I participated in a high school curriculum contest thing at a college(I currently attend this college). I actually got 1st in it but was still a bit angry I didn't get every single one right. The most baffling of questions on there was How many lines of code does the average programmer write per day? A. 5 B. 10 C. 25 D. 30 Aside from being a subjective question which depended on language and everything else I was more baffled at what they had as the correct answer. 10. Even on my bad days at my job I touch more than 10 lines of code(either adding, modifying, or deleting) per day. And when I took this test I had only programmed as a hobby where it was common for me to write a few hundred lines for one of my new projects per day. Where are they getting this random number of ten!? Is this published somewhere? A quick googling found me nothing.

  • MSSQL EXPRESS 2008 Stored Procedure execution time spikes periodically

    - by user156241
    I have a big stored procedure on a MSSQL 2008 Express SP2 database that gets run about every 200 ms. Normal execution time is about 50ms. What I am seeing is large inconsistencies in this run time. It will execute for while, say 50-100 times at 40-60ms which is expected, then seemingly at random the same stored procedure will take way longer, say 900ms or 1.5 seconds to run. Sometimes more than one call of the same procedure in a row will take longer too. It appears that something is causing sql server to slow down dramatically every minute or so, but I can't figure out what. There is no timing pattern between the occurences. I have the same setup on two different computers, one of which is a clean XP Pro load with no virus checking and nothing installed except SQL server. Also, The recovery options for all the databases are set to "Simple".

  • How do you draw like a Crayon?

    - by Simucal
    Crayon Physics Deluxe is a commercial game that came out recently. Watch the video on the main link to get an idea of what I'm talking about. It allows you to draw shapes and have them react with proper physics. The goal is to move a ball to a star across the screen using contraptions and shapes you build. While the game is basically a wrapper for the popular Box2D Physics Engine, it does have one feature that I'm curious about how it is implemented. Its drawing looks very much like a Crayon. You can see the texture of the crayon and as it draws it varies in thickness and darkness just like an actual crayon drawing would look like. The background texture is freely available here. Close up of crayon drawing - Note the varying darkness What kind of algorithm would be used to render those lines in a way that looks like a Crayon? Is it a simple texture applied with a random thickness and darkness or is there something more going on?

  • [C#] Is variable assignment and reading atomic operation (threading)

    - by AStrangerGuy
    I was unable to find any reference to this in the documentations... Is assigning to a double (or any other simple type, including boolean) an atomic operation viewed from the perspective of threads? double value = 0; public void First() { while(true) { value = (new Random()).NextDouble(); } } public void Second() { while(true) { Console.WriteLine(value); } } In this code sample, first method is called in one thread, and the second in another. Can the second method get a messed up value if it gets its execution during assignment to the variable in another thread? I don't care if I recieve the old value, it's only important to receive a valid value (not one where 2 out of 8 bytes are set). I know it's a stupid question, but I want to be sure, cause I don't know how CLR actually sets the variables. Thanks

  • Object Oriented Design Questions

    - by Robert
    Hello there. I am going to develop a Tic-Tac-Toe game using Java(or maybe other OO Languages).Now I have a picture in my mind about the general design. Interface: Player ,then I will be able to implement a couple of Player classes,based on how I want the opponent to be,for example,random player,intelligent player. Classes: Board class,with a two-dimensional array of integers,0 indicates open,1 indicates me,-1 indicates opponent.The evaluation function will be in here as well,to return the next best move based on the current board arrangement and whose turn it is. Refree class,which will create instance of the Board and two player instances,then get the game begin. This is a rough idea of my OO design,could anybody give me any critiques please,I find this is really beneficial,thank you very much.

  • How do I force ode45 to take steps of exactly 0.01 on the T axis?

    - by Gravitas
    I'm using Matlab to solve a differential equation. I want to force ode45 to take constant steps, so it always increments 0.01 on the T axis while solving the equation. How do I do this? ode45 is consistently taking optimized, random steps, and I can't seem to work out how to make it take consistent, small steps of 0.01. Here is the code: options= odeset('Reltol',0.001,'Stats','on'); %figure(1); %clf; init=[xo yo zo]'; tspan=[to tf]; %tspan = t0:0.01:tf; [T,Y]=ode45(name,tspan,init,options);

  • Memcached broken pipe in rails

    - by abronte
    I seem to run into some random broken pipe errors if I try to access memcached a specific way. When I try to access memcached via Rails.cache, the first one or two reads/writes will result in a "MemCacheError (Broken pipe): Broken pipe" and return nil. But if I access memcached through a new object (ActiveSupport::Cache::MemCacheStore.new) I don't get the broken pipe error at all. I've tried upgrading to memcached 1.4.4 (was previously using 1.2.2) and I still got the error. I'm using rails 2.3.5. I would prefer to access memcached through Rails.cache because I takes namespaces into account. Any ideas?

  • Why the following Java code has different outputs each time?

    - by Maxood
    I don't know about threads in Java. I like to know what is happening in this code because each time it runs, it produces a different output: public class TwoThreadsDemo{ public static void main(String[] args) { new SimpleThread("Java Programmer").start(); new SimpleThread("Java Programmer").start(); } } class SimpleThread extends Thread{ public SimpleThread(String str) { super(str); } public void run() { for (int i=0;i<10;i++) { System.out.println(i + " " + getName()); try { sleep((long)(Math.random()*1000)); } catch(InterruptedException e) { } } System.out.println("Done!" + getName()); } }

  • Check ReturnUrl is valid before redirecting

    - by Josh
    I'm using ASP.NET Membership and Form Authentication and before redirecting to the returnURL I wanted to validate it. For those unfamiliar with the workflow, basically if you request a page that requires that you are authenticated, you are redirected to a login page. In the URL string you'll see a parameter called returnURL, e.g. http://example.com/login.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2fprotected%2fdefault.aspx Whether you use this in a redirect such as Response.Redirect(returnURL) or indirectly through the FormsAuthentication.RedirectFromLoginPage method, it passes without validating returnURL. FormsAuthentication.RedirectFromLoginPage does have a security check that it is isn't leaving the domain, but that still doesn't stop someone from putting enough random characters to cause an error. I tried using System.IO.File.Exists(Server.MapPath(returnURL)) but given enough illegal characters it cause Server.MapPath to error. Note: URLEncoding doesn't work because we are not cleaning a parameter, but the primary URL. Any other suggestions for validating or cleaning the returnURL value?

  • Why is WPFToolkit DataGrid so slow when binding?

    - by Schneider
    I have a very simple test application where I have two objects, each with a small collection of items. when I select an object I display its collection in a WPFToolkit DataGrid. The problem is there is a noticeable delay, such that if you press up/down keys to toggle selection between objects you can see it can't keep up. Why is the performance so bad? <Window x:Class="SlowGridBinding.MainWindow" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:Controls="clr-namespace:Microsoft.Windows.Controls;assembly=WPFToolkit" Title="MainWindow" Height="350" Width="525"> <StackPanel> <ListBox ItemsSource="{Binding Shops}" DisplayMemberPath="Name" IsSynchronizedWithCurrentItem="True"/> <Controls:DataGrid ItemsSource="{Binding Shops/Vegetables}" AutoGenerateColumns="True"/> </StackPanel> The DataContext is populated with some test classes filled with 50 items of random test data.

  • Iphone SDK, arc4random CGPointmake?

    - by Harry
    I have tried using integers to store the number like so: playPin = 35 + arc4random() % 118; playY = -50 - arc4random() %100; if (CGRectIntersectsRect(pin.frame, refreshpin.frame)){ pin.center = CGPointMake(playPin, playY); pinend.center = CGPointMake(pin.center.x, pin.center.y+58); } Then using them, when needed, but... its random the first time, then it just keeps repeating itself. then i tried this: if (CGRectIntersectsRect(pin.frame, refreshpin.frame)){ pin.center = CGPointMake(35 + arc4random() % 118, -50 - arc4random() %100); pinend.center = CGPointMake(pin.center.x, pin.center.y+58); } And this also doesn't work, you cant even see the items i want to display! Any ideas? Thanks. Harry.

  • Rails migration to add boolean column to Postgres on Heroku

    - by pmc255
    I'm trying to execute a simple Rails migration to add a boolean column to an existing table. Here's the add_column call: add_column :users, :soliciting, :boolean, :null => false, :default => false However, after the migration runs (successfully, with no errors), I don't see the new column. If I go into the console and list the columns on the User table, for example, with this command: >> User.columns.each { |c| puts "#{c.name} : #{c.type}" } All the other columns show up, but not the one I just added with the migration. What's even more strange is that looking up a random user object yields the Postgres version of booleans (Ruby strings) >> User.find(1).soliciting => "t" However, the existing boolean columns all show up with standard Ruby boolean values of true and false. What's going on here? Is the migration actually complete? Why doesn't the column show up, yet is accessible in the model objects?

  • List of dict in Python

    - by plalex
    Hi everybody, I've got a list of dict in Python: dico_cfg = {'name': entry_name, 'ip': entry_ip, 'vendor': combo_vendor, 'stream': combo_stream} self.list_cfg.append(dico_cfg) I append to my list a lot of dict in the same way. Now I would like to delete one dict and only one dict in this list? What is the best way to proceed? I've try with the index of the list, but when I remove a dict from the list, the index is modify, so after some random remove my index doesn't correspond anymore to the dict I want to remove in my list. I hope that is clear. Maybe I can add an "id" row in my dict, so I can ask to remove more preciously the dict I want. I'll ask to remove the dict where id is equal to the id's dict I want to remove. How can I do that? I hope I'm enough clear. Sorry but I'm a newbie in Python.

  • Pseudorandom crashes in Flash Debugger - My bad, or Abode's?

    - by rinogo
    I'm working on a large-size dual AS3/Flex project (some parts are pure AS3, other parts are Flex), and I'm experiencing a lot of Flash Debugger crashes. These crashes aren't completely random - it seems like I can get them to occur with greater consistency when I perform certain actions in my app. However, at the same time, they aren't consistently repeatable - sometimes a set of actions causes my app to crash, and other times, the same steps execute fine without a crash. I have two questions (carefully worded to remove my personal bias :) ) Are these crashes due to my coding practices, or Adobe's Flash Debugger? When I deploy my app on a web site and access it via Flash Player, should I expect the same crashes to occur, or is Flash Player considerably more resilient than Flash Debugger? Thanks so much, all! :) -Rich

Thanks and regards!
