  • Java - Incrementing through IP addresses in String format

    I'm new to java and i'm trying to find a way of incrementing through an user input IP address range. For example from 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.0.255. However the way my application works at the moment is the take the from and to ip addresses as a String. Is there a way I can increment through all the ip addresses the user input from and to? Hope this makes sense and please dont flame me, I have looked for an answer!

  • ERP system written in SQL Server, Trigger job not running

    We are a manufacturing plant that runs off an ERP system written in SQL Server. I have never worked with SQL and therefore do not know the language. What I do know is that a trigger job that was running and updating data for us, is now NO longer running. Is anyone familiar enough to answer any questions about this for me???     Hi all, I am a newcomer to hibernate. It would be great if someone could comment over the following query that i have: Say i have a parent class and each parent has multiple children. So the mapping file of parent class would be something like: parent.hbm.xml <hibernate-mapping > <class name="org.demo.parent" table="parent" lazy="true"> <cache usage="read-write" region="org.demo.parent"/> <id name="id" column="id" type="integer" length="10"> <generator class="native"> </generator> </id> <property name="name" column="name" type="string" length="50"/> <set name="children" lazy="true"> <cache usage="read-write" region="org.demo.parent.children" /> <key column="parent_id"/> <one-to-many class="org.demo.children"/> </set> </class> </hibernate-mapping> children.hbm.xml <hibernate-mapping > <class name="org.demo.children" table="children" lazy="true"> <cache usage="read-write" region="org.demo.children"/> <id name="id" column="id" type="integer" length="10"> <generator class="native"> </generator> </id> <property name="name" column="name" type="string" length="50"/> <many-to-one name="parent_id" column="parent_id" type="integer" length="10" not-null="true"/> </class> </hibernate-mapping> So for the set children, should we specify the region org.demo.parent.children where it should cache the association or should we use the cache region of org.demo.children where the children would be getting cached. I am using EHCache as the 2nd level cache provider. I tried to search for the answer to this question but couldnt find any answer in this direction. It makes more sense to use org.demo.children but I dont know in which scenarios one should use a separate cache region for associations/sets/collections as in the above case. Kindly provide your inputs also let me know if I am not clear in my question. Thanks all.

    I have the following code snippet: enum { one } x; enum { two } y; x = y; That will compile in C, but in C++, I get the following error: test.c:6: error: cannot convert ‘main()::<anonymous enum>’ to ‘main()::<anonymous enum>’ in assignment Can someone explain to me why this is happening? I would prefer an answer with some specifics about why the compiler behaves this way, rather than just "You can't do that"

    how is this possible first i do insert into table2 select * from table1 where table1.id=1 ( 50k records should be moved 6 indexes has to be updated ) second delete from table1 where id=1 ( 50k records are removed ) How is it possible that only 45k of records are moved?   • How Do I Delete Misnamed Tagged Directory Already Committed?

    I'm new to using the SVN system and having hard time figuring out how to delete files uploaded mistakenly. What I've done: Committed the trunk folder with right clicking on "SVN Commit" Right clicked and choose "TortoiseSVN" - "Branch/Tag" In the section of "To path:" in the "Branch/Tag - Tortoise" window, I typed /*mydirectory*/tags/*1.0.11* where 1.0.11 was supposed to be 1.0.1.1 After realizing 1.0.11 was a mistake, to remove the directory, I right clicked on the 1.0.11 folder in Windows and selected "TortoiseSVN" - "Delete" It deleted the folder in Windows but does not delete the folder in the remote server. According to this page,http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2092344/how-do-i-delete-a-wrongly-tagged-directory-in-svn, a command can be used and I tried to type svn in the command prompt window but it gives svn is not recognized as an internal or external command. This should be a very basic question but I could not find relevant pages. Some pages suggest to use revert but I've already committed 1.0.1.1 so I'm afraid doing revert causes the newest one to be deleted. Thanks for your information.

A more general question is if event lifecycle of ASP.Net page guarantees that each event is fired only after previous has returned or events can be fired while previous is still executing? How does answer change if previous event fires some custom event such as DataBound? Can such event be executed in parallel with another event in page lifecycle?

  • How do I populate multiple records of data into a PDF form like a mail-merge?

    I have Acrobat Pro, and I have a PDF with a form on it. Assuming the fields in the form correspond to a data source (like rows in an RDBMS table or xml file), I want to then print multiple copies of the PDF file, with each copy having the values of a different row in the data source. It is preferable to directly interface with an actual database, rather than having to save an XML file every time I do this. If this involves programming that's cool too, I only posted here because the question didn't seem appropriate for StackOverflow. Thanks!

  • How are suspected DoS attacks handled by webservers?

    I rent a server somewhere out in Canada or so that I'm using to host a website of mine. That website has close to 400,000 pages that I wanted to index today. For that, I wrote a crawler a while back (see JCrawler on Stackoverflow.com). Now, I'm greedy and didn't want it to take too long so I ran multiple threads resulting in some 60+ requests per second from my IP. A couple minutes later, my server locked me out. I can still FTP into it, but I can't HTTP it. As server administrator or user, do you have any idea how servers usually handle these situations? Is it common to place a permanent or temporary ban on the IP or what is typically done? Naturally, I'll re-run my software with fewer requests once I'm back on.

And although its not really that important it's become hard to guess which word to use while writing new code, so I'd like to unify the three terms into one and do the appropriate refactoring, but I'm not sure which word is the "best", if there is such a thing.     When using Django "out-of-the-box" administration forms, the "change form" pages can be rather long for complex models (with a lot of fields). I would like to use tabs in the "change form", so things can be more readable (group fields by tabs...) Instead of doing it all by myself, by modifiying the 'change_form.html' admin template, I was wondering whether somebody has already done that and would like to share the code, or whether an existing Django-plugin already exist.     This is probably a very common question, but I was unable to find an answer myself; All my list elements call the function setQuery like this onClick="admin_stats.setQuery(this);" rather than [hardcode] add this to every list element, is there a way to simply have it run when a list element is clicked? I'm not very familiar with jQuery Live or binding/unbinding, but I think they would play a role here? Before I reinvent a rather square-looking wheel I thought I might ask =)
