    Hello, One time I faced an issue where my customer is having an HTTP 500 internal server error while trying to access any SharePoint site. The problem appeared once he moved back and forth with inheriting/breaking inheritance of permissions over different levels in the site collection. "Security corruption in database" sounds very tough for a customer running a production portal with a backup that can make him lose around 3 weeks of valuable data. However, the solution tends not to be that hard, there's an stsadm command that help us detect the corruption and even delete the orphaned items causing the corruption. Follow these steps: a. stsadm -o databaserepair -url http://SITEURL -databasename DBNAME                and it returned some orphaned items.            b. stsadm -o databaserepair -url http://SITEURL -databasename DBNAME -deletecorruption                and it removed the orphaned items.   • Characters spilled over multiple columns in Oracle 11g?

    This is related to question: How to store unlimited characters in Oracle 11g? If maximum I need is 8000 characters, can I just add 3 more varchar2 columns so that I will have 4 columns with 2000 char each to get 8000 chars. So when the first column is full, values would be spilled over to the next column and so on. Will this design have any bad side effects? Please suggest.

    In the JDBC code, I have the following that is working with SQL Server: CallableStatement stmt = connection.prepareCall("{ call getName() }"); ResultSet rs = stmt.executeQuery(); if(rs != null) { while(rs.next()) { //do something with rs.getString("name") } } Multiple rows are returned for the above situation. I understand that the use of a cursor is required to loop through the table in Oracle, but is there any way to keep the above code the same and accomplish the same thing? Thanks in advance.

  • Date type in oracle does not include time values

    I have a PHP application using an Oracle XE database. Whenever I add a date the hours minutes, and seconds seem to get left out. Is there some special format, or type I should use to be able to store this? I have tried using to_date, and specifying the format I am using. Many thanks for any suggestions from this confused MySql dveloper.
