• Look of the app - Py2exe / wxPython

  So my problem is the look and feel from my application, as it looks like an old look app. It is an wxPython application, and on python it runs fine and looks fine, but when I convert it to .exe using py2exe, the look is just bad. Now I know that if you are using XP you need some manifest to correct it but I am in other circumstances. I'm using Windows 7, and I'm using Python 2.6 (Yes, I am including the DLL's and the Microsoft.VC90.CRT.manifest). So my question is how can I solve this under these circumstances? NOTE: I tried to search on google, but the posts I found were rather old with people using XP and older python versions so I assumed it would be different? • Eclipse plugin: Custom icon for a Marker

  I want to specify a custom icon for a makrer. Sadly, the icon that I chose is not displayed. • Safari wrapping too early

  I've created a class web page with a page for midterm review. It uses jsMath to turn Tex into nice math. (MathML looks awful) Anyway, I would occasionally like to have several problems per line. Each problem is in its own <span>, so if it needs to wrap, it won't split the problem. It all seems to work, except that Safari for the Mac seems overly anxious to wrap, sometimes wrapping at 30% paragraph width. Even under inspection, it reports a width of 663px, but wrapping occurs at around 150px. There is no padding. Firefox renders just fine. • Is there a way to construct HTML/CSS in an HTML email such that if image X does not load, text Y will appear?

  I'm looking for something a little more sophisticated than the alt="Newsletter Heading text" attribute of <img> tag. So if the Masthead.png image doesn't load for whatever reason, I want the display text, say Font: 60px Helvetica Neue Black, Helvetica, ..., Sans Serif text-align: center to appear in the middle of the table cell that is my masthead instead of just the alt text in some small default font in top right corner. One idea I had was to use to put the image on-top of the text display but I don't know if z-depth is something I can use in email HTML(?4)?

• How do you position a background image inside a <div>?

  My code currently looks like this: <div style="position: fixed; width: 35.25%; height: 6.75%; left: 0%; top: 4.625%; right: 64.75%; bottom: 88.625%; color: #D1E231; text-align: center; background-color: #666666; background-image: url('FleurTR.png'); background-position: right top;"> <div> The <div> shows up just fine, with the grey background color, but the background image won't show up at all. What am I missing here? There's no reason I should have to specify background-attachment or background-repeat, right? (I don't want it to repeat.)

• Perl file test operator help

  This is a really basic issue, but I'm new to perl and cannot work out what the issue is. I'm just trying to isolate the files in a directory, but the -d operator keeps treating all the folder contents as files ... @contents is my array, and when I run this: foreach $item(@contents) { if (-d $item) { next; } print"$item is a file\n"; } I keep getting both folders and files. • Timer with random seconds ¿How to update the random seconds?

  I have a timer "tmr_sendCesta" which must be called each x seconds between 1 and 3 seconds. The problem is the timer "tmr_sendCesta" is called only one time, and the random seconds is never updated. I need to call the function "createCesta" each x seconds randomly. • Resources for Programmatic Rendering of Topology Maps

  Servus, Do you know of any frameworks, APIS, languages, or other resources that are well suited for drawing topology maps that allow a user to interact with objects on the map? I am not constrained by language choice and the program can be web-based, or stand-alone. I thought I would check before rolling my own. My goal is not to draw cartographic maps, but more like this picture: http://www.fineconnection.com/files/images/GraphicalNM.PNG, or if you are familiar with Edward Tufte's books, the data-visualization mechanisms he describes such as a map of a metro or subway. Also, if you have had any experience rendering these types of user interfaces or usage of underlying datastructures, I would be grateful to hear any thoughts you have on the subject, advice, any "gotchas." • Problem including dynamic image in Eclipse BIRT 2.5.0 report on Windows

  I have a BIRT 2.5.0 report design with a dynamic image (URL is specified through report parameter, image formats tried - .png, .bmp). When running the report from our application on Ubuntu, everything renders OK. When doing exactly the same thing on Windows, there's following message instead of the actual image: Current report item is not supported in this report format. Same problem occurs when including image with a fixed URL - even though the image is displayed and loaded in the Report Designer, it's not rendered in report generated from our application. Again, this happens only on Windows. The only way I managed to get the image into a rendered report was through embedding it into the report design file, which is not suitable as the image has to be dynamic.

I'm using link_to_function which somewhat behaves but I can not get the method I am calling in the link_to_function to redirect to another page. Is there a better way to do this? • Using CGContext to display a sprite sheet iPhone

  Hello, So I have a spritesheet in png format, and have already worked out the coordinates for what I want to display. I'm trying to create a method that will return a UIImage when passed the location information on the spritesheet. I'm just not sure how to use the CGContext stuff along with the the coordinates to return an UIImage. I was looking to CGContextClipToRect because I think that is the way to do it, but I just can't seem to get it to work. Something like this CGSize size = CGSizeMake(xSize, ySize); UIGraphicsBeginImageContext(size); //CGContextClipToRect(spriteSheet.size, imageRect); [spriteSheet drawAtPoint:CGPointMake(xPos, yPos)]; UIImage *newImage = UIGraphicsGetImageFromCurrentImageContext(); UIGraphicsEndImageContext(); return scaledImage; returns only what is in the size Context. • How to get mp3 files to play in iPhone Safari web browser?

  How can I get an MP3 audio file to play in iPhone Safari (OS 3.1)? Currently, I am generating HTML e.g. <a href="file.mp3"><img src="sound.png" alt="Play audio"/></a> to play the file on clicking on the nested image. This works on Safari on OSX, but not on the iPhone. There, the content of the file is shown as text, but it does not appear to be a mime-type problem when checked with Live HTTP Headers from Firefox. I have found approaches referenced here. These require the Safari Plugins setting to be on in the preferences, which is why it did not previously work for me.

  I would like to make a JPEG image file with some pixels that are partially transparent or fully transparent, similar to a PNG file with an alpha channel. Is this possible? If so, how would I go about doing this? I would like to use the image on a website. If I try to do this, would it work in any or all of the popular browsers (IE 7+, Firefox, Safari)? Assuming it is possible, will it just work, or are there any tricks or hacks required to make it work?

• Bing map silverlight control content rendering issue when page gets refresh

  When Bing map control loads for first time on any browser all pushpin on map are visible. Bing map control renders perfectly. Then I refresh browser it create rendering issue some custom pushpin on map gets disappeared. This behavior continues with pushpin. Pushpin are (.png) images and I am not using default bing map thumbtacks. May be it is issue of browser caching content or Bing map control rendering issues on various browsers.   Hi Guys! I've read a lot around everywhere, but wasn't able to make a simple character movement animation. What I have is a PNG file and an associated PLIST file with all the frames for a "walking" animation of a character that I want to run when the user touches the screen. I want to loop that animation and also at the same time, move the character to the right or left. I want to use Cocos2D in doing this. • Bug when drawing a QImage on a widget with PIL and PyQt

  I'm trying to write a small graphic application, and I need to construct some image using PIL that I show in a widget. The image is correctly constructed (I can check with im.show()), I can convert it to a QImage, that I can save normally to disk (using QImage.save), but if I try to draw it directly on my QWidget, it only show a white square. Here I commented out the code that is not working (converting the Image into QImage then QPixmap result in a white square), and I made a dirty hack to save the image to a temporary file and load it directly in a QPixmap, which work but is not what I want to do https://gist.github.com/f6d479f286ad75bf72b7 Someone has an idea? If it can help, when I try to save my QImage in a BMP file, I can access its content, but if I try to save it to a PNG it is completely white

• UIImage from NSDocumentDirectory leaking memory

I currently have this code: UIImage *image = [[UIImage alloc] initWithContentsOfFile:[imagesPath stringByAppendingPathComponent:[NSString stringWithFormat:@"/%@.png", [postsArrayID objectAtIndex:indexPath.row]]]]; It's loading in an image to set in a UITableViewCell. This obviously leaks a lot of memory (I do release it, two lines down after setting the cells image to be that image), and I'm not sure if it caches the image at all. Is there another way, that doesen't leak so much, I can use to load in images multiple times, like in a tableView, from the Documents-directory of my app? Thanks.

  Hello, I've a list of different sizes of a T-Shirt, e.g. S, M, L. Since this might change for T-Shirts (sometimes we just have e.g. M, L), we load this into a List sizes. Since most DataGrids (xamDataGrid, WPF Toolkit DataGrid) need Properties for binding to the Columns, I'd like to transpose somehow my data. Does anyone have an idea how to do this? E.g. Instead of having List where Size { string sizeName, int available, int defect, int ordered} Avail. Defect Ordered [S] 1 2 3 [M] 1 2 3 [L] 1 2 3 I want an Object which has the Properties S, M, L containing the Values like this: [S] [M] [L] Avail. 1 2 3 Defect 1 2 3 Ordered 1 2 3 The problem here is that I don't know how many sizes will be available for the tshirt, it might be 3, 4, or 10.
