I have users complaining of very slow internetn connectivity on site and have checked with our ISP who have said that the line is testing at 8mb. We have 2 x BT lines that have our ISP broadand on them. Both lines go into a Cisco 2600 series router that then has a PIX firewall off that. Connectivity is successful just gone really slow and unable to download anything.     I am setting up my Ubuntu 10.0.4 server to sync clock with a Windows 2008 AD. As none of the "remote" has a "*" in front (worst it had a blank space in front), does it mean no time sync source is selected? The offset just keep increasing.     I can't get DHCP to assign IP to my wireless devices. My network config is as follows: Nanostation5 Linksys WRT350N, which is connected with Nanostation via its INTERNET port. Nanostation: LAN IP Address: 192.168.1.20 WLAN IP Address: 192.168.0.79 Network Mode: Router and is getting its IP via DHCP from my ISP Netmask: 255.255.255.0 Gateway IP: 192.168.1.1 LAN Network settings: IP Address: 192.168.1.20 Netmask: 255.255.255.0 Enable NAT: YES ENABLE DHCP Server: YES Range 192.168.1.100 ~ 250 Netmask: 255.255.255.0 Enable DNS Proxy: YES Linksys: Internet Connection Type: DHCP Router IP: 192.168.2.1 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 DHCP: Enabled Start IP: 192.168.2.100 ~ 120 Advanced Routing: NAT: Enabled What I can do is connecting manually with this config: IP: 192.168.2.101 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 Router: 192.168.2.1 DNS: 192.168.1.20 Search domains: WRT350N I want to be able to connect to both routers independently(now its 192.168.1.20 for Nanostation, and 192.168.2.1 for Linksys) and connect any wireless device using DHCP. What should be IP ranges, masks, etc. on both devices?

  • 3 or 4 monitors with Nvidia and Ubuntu

    I saw that you are (were?) running 4 monitors with Ubuntu 8.10 and two Nvidia cards (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/27113/how-to-use-3-monitors). I was curious if you were doing this with Xinerama, a hacked up TwinView config, or multiple X screens, or some other method? Does it work with compiz? I intend to run my Dell 30" in the middle with two 1280x1024 on the sides and continue to use one X screen, and run compiz, on Ubuntu 9.04. Currently, I am using 2 monitors with twinview and compiz, which runs fantastic. I just can't get the third monitor running (unless I enable it in its own X screen, and then enable Xinerama to enable windows to be dragged as if all one X screen, but this breaks compiz, and I don't care much for having separate X screen). I am very interested in knowing how you set up 4 monitors with 2 GPU's. Thanks!

    I'd like to enable the use of the AES 256 GCM encryption instead of the AES 256 CBC. We already have ECC certificates based on ECDSA so that pre-requisite has been fullfilled. The certificate has a SHA-256 signature and uses a 256-bit ECC keyset. The ciphersuite I'd like to use: TLS_ECDHE_ECDSA_WITH_AES_256_GCM_SHA384_P384 This is our ciphersuite order: TLS_ECDHE_ECDSA_WITH_AES_256_GCM_SHA384_P384, TLS_ECDHE_ECDSA_WITH_AES_256_GCM_SHA384_P521, TLS_ECDHE_ECDSA_WITH_AES_256_CBC_SHA384_P384, TLS_ECDHE_ECDSA_WITH_AES_256_CBC_SHA384_P521, TLS_ECDHE_ECDSA_WITH_AES_256_CBC_SHA_P256, TLS_ECDHE_RSA_WITH_AES_256_CBC_SHA_P256, TLS_ECDHE_RSA_WITH_AES_256_CBC_SHA384_P256 Still when I check the website it says we use TLS 1.2 and ECDHE_ECDSA for key exchange AES_256_CBC encryption and SHA1 for message digest. I suspect it uses this suite for some reason: TLS_ECDHE_ECDSA_WITH_AES_256_CBC_SHA_P256 When I remove that ciphersuite the site has a protocol mismatch and won't load the https anymore. Does anyone know how to enable the ciphersuite? Did I forget to set something in the registry or do I need to do something else to enable that specific suite. Thanks in advance!

    Not being a network expert, I spent some time configuring my network, until I found my mistake: On my HP ProCurve Switch 1810G, I thought that "Admin mode" means whether the administrative interface can be accessed from this port. Well, it means whether the port is enabled or not. Extract from the help function: Admin Mode - Select to enable the port-control administration state. Click to enable and have the port participate in the network.(Default : Enabled ) Well, of course I didn't read the help, because I didn't doubt it's for the adminsitrative interface and suspected an error somewhere else. Anyway, I am wondering if that is a commonly used term for enabling/disabling ports or if HP just wanted to make my life harder? I can't understand why this option isn't just called "Enable port"!?   • Windows Authentication Website Asking for Credentials

    I have a website that has ASP.Net Impersonation Enabled and Windows Authentication Enabled. When navigating to that site using IE8 with "Enable Integrated Windows Authentication" (under Tools - Internet Options - Advanced) checked, the browser pops-up a "Windows Security" dialog box asking for User name and Password. My understanding was that this was automatically passed through and I would not need to type in those details. Additional Information: If I uncheck "Enable Integrated Windows Authentication" I do not get the pop-up window and it appears to work was intended (though that is the opposite of what I would be expecting) If I enable Windows Authentication in Firefox I do not get the pop-up window (i.e. works as intended) Are there some settings or similar that could have been set to create this behavior? Or has anyone else seen similar behavior and know how to fix?

    I have an office with a router and a remote server (Linux - Ubuntu 10.10). Both locations need to connect to a data supplier through a VPN. The VPN is an IPSEC gateway. I was able to configure my Linksys rv42 router to create a VPN connection successfully and now I need to do the same for Linux server. I have been messing around with this for too long. First I tried OpenVPN, but that is SSL and not IPSEC. Then I tried Shrew. I think I have the settings correct but I haven't been able to create the connection. It maybe that I have to use something else like a direct IPSEC config or something like that. If someone knows of a way to turn the following settings that I have been given below into a working IPSEC VPN connection I would be very grateful.     I am using internet 8 and under internet options advanced there is not box to check to enable java. I was told to reset which did nto work. I have tried to uninstall java 6-21 32 bit but I get windows installer error 1723. I brought up the java console and made sure it was pointing to the right target. But I guess the main thing is I have no enable java under internet options, advanced. It was under security to enable java scripting. Any answers?

    I'm trying to use the server side functionality of the jQuery Datatables plugin with ASP.Net. The ajax request is returning valid JSON, but nothing is showing up in the table. I originally had problems with the data I was sending in the ajax request. I was getting a "Invalid JSON primative" error. I discovered that the data needs to be in a string instead of JSON serialized, as described in this post: http://encosia.com/2008/06/05/3-mistakes-to-avoid-when-using-jquery-with-aspnet-ajax/. I wasn't quite sure how to fix that, so I tried adding this in the ajax request: "data": "{'sEcho': '" + aoData.sEcho + "'}" If the aboves eventually works I'll add the other parameters later. Right now I'm just trying to get something to show up in my table. The returning JSON looks ok and validates, but the sEcho in the post is undefined, and I think thats why no data is being loaded into the table. So, what am I doing wrong?     I am using the Oracle .NET Provider and am calling a stored procedure in a package. The message I get back is "Wrong number or types in call". I have ensured that the order in which the parameters are being added are in the correct order and I have gone over the OracleDbType's thoroughly though I suspect that is where my problem is.
