• Error in datatype (nvarchar instead of ntext)

  I am importing data from excel(.xls) to SQL Server 2008 using SSIS. I have included IMEX=1 in the connection string of excel connection manager. But a column consists of a value as below: 4-Hour Engineer Dispatch ASPP Engr Dispatch 1: Up to 1 dispatch (8 hours) per year. Hours exceeding allocation billed @ 1.5x hourly rate w/ 8-hr min Engr Dispatch: 8-hrs to arrive on-site from Ciena's determination of need On-Site Engineer Dispatch - 8 Hour ASPP Engr Dispatch 8: Up to 8 dispatch (64 hours) per year. Hours exceeding allocation billed @ 1.5x hourly rate w/ 8-hr min Engr Dispatch: NBD to dispatch from Ciena's determination of need Per Incident On Site Support ASPP Engr Dispatch 12: Up to 12 dispatch (96 hours) per year. Hours exceeding allocation billed @ 1.5x hourly rate w/ 8-hr min Engr Dispatch: Next day to arrive on-site from Ciena's determination of need Resident Engineer Engr Dispatch: 2-hrs to arrive on-site from Ciena's determination of need Engr Dispatch: 4-hrs to arrive on-site from Ciena's determination of need ASPP Engr Dispatch 2: Up to 2 dispatch (16 hours) per year. Hours exceeding allocation billed @ 1.5x hourly rate w/ 8-hr min N Actually there are about 600 rows in that excel file. But the above mentioned value is present after 450 rows only. So, the datatype of that column is taken as nvarchar(255) as default instead of ntext and so i am getting error. Anybody please help out... Thanks in advance...

  hi frnds, I am using a WPF application, in which i placed a listview control which has 3 gridview columns. First Gridview column has a label Control and the remaining 2 gridview columns has textbox control. Now my problem is if the user enters a value in the first Gridview textbox column, the second gridview textbox column should be updated with some value. Is there any way to do that. I am filling the list view with a datatable from code behind file. And also is there any way to get the value of the label control in the 1st gridview column. Thanks in advance urs Frnd :)

I can't find anything. It could possibly be the structure of the database. • ploting 3d graph in matlab?

  Hello, I am currently a begineer, and i am using matlab to do a data analysis. I have a a text file with data at the first row is formatted as follow: time;wave height 1;wave height 2;....... I have column until wave height 19 and rows total 4000 rows. Data in the first column is time in second. From 2nd column onwards, it is wave height elevation which is in meter. At the moment I like to ask matlab to plot a 3d graph with time on the x axis, wave elevation on the y axis, and wave elevation that correspond to wave height number from 1 to 19, i.e. data in column 2 row 10 has a let say 8m which is correspond to wave height 1 and time at the column 1 row 10. I have try the following: clear; filename='abc.daf'; path='C:\D'; a=dlmread([path '\' filename],' ', 2, 1); [nrows,ncols]=size(a); t=a(1:nrows,1);%define t from text file for i=(1:20), j=(2:21); end wi=a(:,j); for k=(2:4000), l=k; end r=a(l,:); But everytime i use try to plot them, the for loop wi works fine, but for r=a(l,:);, the plot only either give me the last time data only but i want all data in the file to be plot. • Checking inherited attributes in an 'ancestry' based SQL table

  I'm using the ancestry gem to help organise my app's tree structure in the database. It basically writes a childs ancestor information to a special column called 'ancestry'. The ancestry column for a particular child might look like '1/34/87' where the parent of this child is 87, and then 87's parent is 34 and 34's is 1. It seems possible that we could select rows from this table each with a subquery that checks all the ancestors to see if a certain attribute it set. E.g. in my app you can hide an item and its children just by setting the parent element's visibility column to 0. I want to be able to find all the items where none of their ancestors are hidden. I tried converting the slashes to comma's with the REPLACE command but IN required a set of comma separated integers rather than one string with comma separated string numbers. It's funny, because I can do this query in two steps, e.g. retrieve the row, then take its ancestry column, split out the id's and make another query that checks that the id is IN that set of id's and that visibility isn't ever 0 and whala! But joining these into one query seems to be quite a task. Much searching has shown a few answers but none really do what I want. SELECT * FROM t1 WHERE id = 99; 99's ancestry column reads '1/34/87' SELECT * FROM t1 WHERE visibility = 0 AND id IN (1,34,87); kind of backwards, but if this returns no rows then the item is visible. Has anyone come across this before and come up with a solution. I don't really want to go the stored procedure route. It's for a rails app.

  I want to get the results of a left join between two tables, with both having a column of the same name, the column on which I join. The following query is seen as valid by the import/export wizard in SQL Server, but it always gives an error. I have some more conditions, so the size wouldn't be too much. We're using SQL Server 2000 iirc and since we're using an externally developed program to interact with the database (except for some information we can't retrieve that way), we can not simply change the column name. SELECT table1.*, table2.* FROM table1 LEFT JOIN table2 ON table1.samename = table2.samename At least, I think the column name is the problem, or am I doing something else wrong?

• How to access empty ASP.NET ListView.ListViewItem to apply a style after all databinding is done?

  We're using a ListView with a GroupTemplate to create a three-column navigation menu with six items in each column, filling in two non-data-bound rows in the last column with an EmptyItemTemplate that contains an empty HTML list item. That part works fine, but I also need to programmatically add a CSS class to the sixth (last) item in each column. That part is also working fine for the first two columns because I'm assigning the CSS class in the DataBound event, where I can iterate through the ListView.Items collection and access the sixth item in the first two columns by using a modulus operator and counter. The problem comes in the last column, where the EmptyItemTemplate has correctly filled in two empty list items, to the last of which I also need to add this CSS class. The empty items are not included in the ListView.Items collection (that's just ListViewDataItems, and the empty items are ListViewItems). I cannot find a way to access the entire collection of ListViewItems after binding. Am I missing something? I know I can access the empty items during ItemCreated, but I can't figure out how to determine where the item I'm creating falls in the flow, and whether it's the last one. Any help would be appreciated, if this can even be done -- I'm a bit stuck.

  I am a sharepoint newbee and am having trouble getting any search results to return using the search API in Sharepoint 2010 Foundation. Here are the steps I have taken so far. The Service Sharepoint Foundation Search v4 is running and logged in as Local Service Under Team Site - Site Settings - Search and Offline Availability, Indexing Site Content is enabled. Running the PowerShell script Get-SPSearchServiceInstance returns TypeName : SharePoint Foundation Search Description : Search index file on the search server Id : 91e01ce1-016e-44e0-a938-035d37613b70 Server : SPServer Name=V-SP2010 Service : SPSearchService Name=SPSearch4 IndexLocation : C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Exten sions\14\Data\Applications ProxyType : Default Status : Online When I do a search using the search textbox on the team site I get a results as I would expect. Now, when I try to duplicate the search results using the Search API I either receive an error or 0 results. • Hibernate Bi- Directional many to many mapping advice!

  hi all, i woundered if anyone might be able to help me out. I am trying to work out what to google for (or any other ideas!!) basically i have a bidirectional many to many mapping between a user entity and a club entity (via a join table called userClubs) I now want to include a column in userClubs that represents the role so that when i call user.getClubs() I can also work out what level access they have. Is there a clever way to do this using hibernate or do i need to rethink the database structure? • Using WebMatrix and Visial Studio 2010 on a Razor project

  I am having problems using both WebMatrix and VS on a Razor project. I have downloaded and installed all updates from the official ASP.net web site. After getting the project to compile in VS I get the following error: "The type of page you have requested is not served because it has been explicitly forbidden. The extension '.cshtml' may be incorrect." Now when I open the project in WebMatrix I receive the same error. I can open/run other projects in WebMatrix without errors so apparently VS changed some configuration in my project? Fortunately I have found a work around but the problem is still not solved. 1) Create a new empty folder for site. 2) Copy contents of folder from failing site. 3) In WebMatrix use option "Site From Folder". Once I have the site up and running with the above steps I can delete the original folder, then rename the new folder (which is now working) to the orig name and the site will stop working again. There is some setting on my system tied to the original folder name that is stopping cshtml files from being served. What/Where is that setting? Thanks, Terrence Koehn

In order to assist with the layout, I created some JPEGs in MsPaint containing the images -2, -1, 0, +1 and +2 and just copied them into the top level of the project directory.   I want to display a basic html table with controls to toggle showing/hiding of additional columns: <table id="mytable"> <tr> <th>Column 1</th> <th class="col1">1a</th> <th class="col1">1b</th> <th>Column 2</th> <th class="col2">2a</th> <th class="col2">2b</th> </tr> <tr> <td>100</td> <td class="col1">40</td> <td class="col1">60</td> <td>200</td> <td class="col2">110</td> <td class="col2">90</td> </tr> </table> So Column 1 and Column 2 will be the only columns displayed by default - but when you click on the Column 1 I want 1a and 1b to toggle, and same with Column 2 with 2a and 2b. I may end up with more columns and lots of rows - so any javascript looping approaches have been too slow to work with when I tested. The only approach that seems to be fast enough is to set up some css like this: table.hide1 .col1 { display: none; } table.hide2 .col2 { display: none; } table.hide3 .col3 { display: none; } table.show1 .col1 { display: table-cell; } table.show2 .col2 { display: table-cell; } table.show3 .col3 { display: table-cell; } And then set up onClick function calls on the table header cells that will trigger a toggle - and determine which css class to set "mytable" to that will create the toggle effect that I'm looking for. Is there an easy way to set this up so that the code can work for n # of columns?

  I'm having some trouble constructing the correct Criteria to do a particular query - after an afternoon of consultation with Professor Google, I'm hoping that someone can point me in the right direction. I have two entities of interest: OutputTsDef and NamedAttribute What I'm trying to do is to find all OutputTsDef that have a particular NamedAttribute value. I can write a detached Criteria to find all NamedAttributes that have a given name and value: var attributesCriteria = DetachedCriteria.For<INamedAttribute>() .Add(Expression.Eq("Name", "some name")) .Add(Expression.Eq("Value", "some value")); How do I inject this in to a query for OutputTsDef to restrict the results? var criteria = nHibernateSession.CreateCriteria(typeof(IOutputTsDefEntity)); // What do I write here? var results = criteria.List(); NamedAttribute looks like this - note the use of [Any] as we can have NamedAttributes on many kinds of entity.
