I wanted to know how can I disable hardware rendering, or at least making it more capable. Hence, I wanted to know what are the basic limits of the video ram, as far as I know, Direct3D has a texture size limits (by that I don't mean the power-of-two texture sizes).

  • Android - Question on postDelayed and Threads

    I have a question about postDelayed. The android docs say that it adds the runnable to the queue and it runs in the UI thread. What does this mean? So, for example, the same thread I use to create my layout is used to run the Runnable? What if I want it as an independent thread that executes while I am creating my layout and defining my activity? Thanks Chris

    I have a date with a time. I'm using ruby, but the language shouldn't matter. d = "2010-04-01 13:00:00" What is the best way to format this date for Mongo DB? By 'best' I mean, is there a certain format I could use where Mongo would recognize it as a date and might give me more-advanced filtering optons? ie: If formatted correctly, could I ask Mongo to return all records whose month is '04'?   • How to use mencoder to speed up video ?

    There's a webcam streaming WMV video that I can play/record with mplayer/mencoder (Debian Lenny including Debian-multimedia) just fine. I'd like to capture the video such that, when played back, it's faster (so say 100s of real time zooms past in every 1s of video). The "frameskip" filter seems like it ought to do this, but when I try e.g mencoder -o output.avi -ofps 25 -vf framestep=100 -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=mpeg4:... <mms source URL> what I actually get is something which plays for the same length of time as it's allowed to capture for, but which only updates the displayed image every 4 seconds. Is there any way mencoder can be persuaded to do what I want ? (By the way, ideally I'd like to average the frames together to obtain motion-blur instead of just dropping/discarding most of them.).

I can't understand this line of code which apparently loops through different 'parts' of an email message. I have no idea how it works btw and suspect that theres some error taking place which my parser isn't showing right. foreach (new RecursiveIteratorIterator($mail->getMessage($i)) as $ii=>$part) what does the above foreach loop mean?

    Hello - I am using the IBM RAD IDE and building a dynamic web project. When I build the project and attempt to add it to the server by selecting 'add or remove projects' I get the response that there are no projects to add or remove. Does this mean I will have to create a EAR file (J2EE Project) and add my web project to it in order to deploy to the local WAS? Might I be missing some essential configuration?

  • How can I allow a linux subversion user to only execute svnserve?

    I've got a user that I'd like to only be able to use subversion. We like to use svn+ssh:// URLs sometimes (for public keys and whatnot), so I need them to be able to connect over ssh and run only the svnserve command. When using a svn+ssh URL, svn ssh'es in and passes the arguments "-c svnserve -t". I wrote a custom shell as follows to filter the commands that can be run. This works, but it's not passing the input to svnserve, so when I try to "svn up" I get "svn: Connection closed unexpectedly". #!/bin/bash if [ "$1" == "-c" ] && [ "$2" == "svnserve" ] && [ "$3" == "-t" ] && [ "$4" == ""] ; then exec svnserve -t else echo "Access denied.   • Can i upload my apk to SD Card instead of internal storage?

    My APK is big, 70 MB. I don't have any problems when I install it in external storage, but when I upload it to phone before installing, the APK goes to internal storage and my testing phone doesn't have enough space in internal storage and a lot of android phones don't have enough internal space for 70 MB... Can I upload my APK straight to the SD Card instead of internal storage first? upload mean "upload from my eclipse while runnig , or download from market, apk will go to internal storage but i want apk go to external and start install from external"
