  Hi I am trying to select count of rows from a table which has foreign keys of two tables. The C# code threw the error mentioned below. So, I added a primary key column to the table (schema as follows) and regenerated the code. But still the same error is coming. • Rewind request body stream

  I am re-implementing a request logger as Owin Middleware which logs the request url and body of all incoming requests. I am able to read the body, but if I do the body parameter in my controller is null. I'm guessing it's null because the stream position is at the end so there is nothing left to read when it tries to deserialize the body. I had a similar issue in a previous version of Web API but was able to set the Stream position back to 0. This particular stream throws a This stream does not support seek operations exception. In the most recent version of Web API 2.0 I could call Request.HttpContent.ReadAsStringAsync()inside my request logger, and the body would still arrive to the controller in tact.   Here is simple example I've created after reading several topics about jpa bulk inserts, I have 2 persistent objects User, and Site. One user could have many site, so we have one to many relations here. Suppose I want to create user and create/link several sites to user account. Here is how code looks like, considering my willing to use bulk insert for Site objects.   I'm trying to code for a Point Of Sale system which allows for a "Cash Drawer" attachment. Code is provided in the manual for opening the cash drawer (in C++ using IOCTL). Since I am coding in C# .NET, is it possible to perform something similar from within C# or will I have to write some unmanaged code? Am I able to get a handle to "\\.\ADVANSYS" from within C#? • Creating static NAT blocks outbound traffic Cisco ASA

  Hi Everyone, I have two web servers sitting behind a Cisco ASA 5505, which I don't have much experience with. I'm trying to create two static NATs. One static NAT that goes to xx.xx.xx.150 and another that goes to xx.xx.xx.151. I've created the static NAT for the .150 web server and it works FINE. Incoming and outgoing traffic work great. This is the staging web server. I now need to duplicate the setup for the production web server. So, I connect the webserver to the firewall, change the public IP address on one of the NICs reboot the server and I have outbound internet access. Then I run the command: static (inside,outside) xx.xx.xx.150 192.168.1.x which is successful. I then run the command: access-list acl-outside permit tcp any host xx.xx.xx.150 eq 80 Which is successful. I then try to browse the internet and I get nothing. I try to telnet in through port 80 and I get nothing (though I'm guessing because the response to the telnet request is being blocked). I've tried this with the production web server and then I tried it with another web server that is for internal testing and have the exact same problem. Both work fine until I run the static NAT rule and then no outbound internet access. I have a feeling that it's something simple that I'm missing, but my limited experience with this device is killing me. Below I've pasted the current configuration. I'm currently trying to get this to work on the .153 server which is the internal testing server.   Hi, I have a windows service running under "SYSTEM" account that checks if a specific application is running for each logged in user. If the application is not running, the service starts it (under corresponding user name). I'm trying to accomplish my goal using CreateProcessAsUser(). The service does start the application under corresponding user name, but the GUI is not drawn. (Yes, I'm making sure that "Allow service to interact with desktop" check box is enabled). System: XP SP3, labguage: C# Here is some code that might be of interest: PROCESS_INFORMATION processInfo = new PROCESS_INFORMATION(); startInfo.cb = Marshal.SizeOf(startInfo); startInfo.lpDesktop = "winsta0\\default"; bResult = Win32.CreateProcessAsUser(hToken, null, strCommand, IntPtr.Zero, IntPtr.Zero, false, 0, IntPtr.Zero, null, ref startInfo, out processInfo); As far as I understand, setting startInfo.lpDesktop = "winsta0\default"; should have used the desktop of corresponding user. Even contrary to what is stated here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/165194, I tried setting lpDesktop to null, or not setting it at all, both giving the same result: process was started in the name of expected user and I could see a part of window's title bar. The "invisible" window intercepts mouse click events, handles them as expected. It just doesn't draw itself. Is anyone familiar with such a problem and knows what am I doing wrong?

• What is the difference between Anycast and GeoDNS / GeoIP wrt HA?

  Based on the Wikipedia description of Anycast, it includes both the distribution of a domain-name-to-many-IP-mapping across many DNS servers as well as replying to clients with the most geographically close (or fastest) server. In the context of a globally distributed, highly available site like google.com (or any CDN service with many global edge locations) this sounds like the two key features one would need. DNS services like Amazon's Route53, EasyDNS and DNSMadeEasy all advertise themselves as Anycast-enabled networks. Therefore my assumption is that each of these DNS services transparently offer me those two killer features: multi-IP-to-domain mapping AND routing clients to the closest node. However, each of these services seem to separate out these two functionalities, referring to the 2nd one (routing clients to closest node) as "GeoDNS", "GeoIP" or "Global Traffic Director" and charge extra for the service. If a core tenant of an Anycast-capable system is to already do this, why is this functionality being earmarked as this extra feature? What is this "GeoDNS" feature doing that a standard Anycast DNS service won't do (according to the definition of Anycast from Wikipedia -- I understand what is being advertised, just not why it isn't implied already). I get extra-confused when a DNS service like Route53 that doesn't support this nebulous "GeoDNS" feature lists functionality like: Fast – Using a global anycast network of DNS servers around the world, Route 53 is designed to automatically route your users to the optimal location depending on network conditions. As a result, the service offers low query latency for your end users, as well as low update latency for your DNS record management needs. ... which sounds exactly like what GeoDNS is intended to do, but geographically directing clients is something they explicitly don't support it yet. Ultimately I am looking for the two following features from a DNS provider: Map multiple IP addresses to a single domain name (like google.com, amazon.com, etc. does) Utilize a DNS service that will respond to client requests for that domain with the IP address of the nearest server to the requestee. As mentioned, it seems like this is all part of an "Anycast" DNS service (all of which these services are), but the features and marketing I see from them suggest otherwise, making me think I need to learn a bit more about how DNS works before making a deployment choice.   According to http://net-snmp.sourceforge.net/docs/mibs/ucdavis.html#scalar_notcurrent ssCpuUser, ssCpuSystem, ssCpuIdle, etc are deprecated in favor of the raw variants (ssCpuRawUser, etc). The former values (which don't cover things like nice, wait, kernel, interrupt, etc) returned a percentage value: The percentage of CPU time spent processing user-level code, calculated over the last minute. This object has been deprecated in favour of 'ssCpuRawUser(50)', which can be used to calculate the same metric, but over any desired time period. The raw values return the "raw" number of ticks the CPU spent: The number of 'ticks' (typically 1/100s) spent processing user-level code. On a multi-processor system, the 'ssCpuRaw*' counters are cumulative over all CPUs, so their sum will typically be N*100 (for N processors). My question is: how do you turn the number of ticks into percentage? That is, how do you know how many ticks per second (it's typically — which implies not always — 1/100s, which either means 1 every 100 seconds or that a tick represents 1/100th of a second). I imagine you also need to know how many CPUs there are or you need to fetch all the CPU values to add them all together. I can't seem to find a MIB that gives you an integer value for # of CPUs which makes the former route awkward. The latter route seems unreliable because some of the numbers overlap (sometimes). For example, ssCpuRawWait has the following warning: This object will not be implemented on hosts where the underlying operating system does not measure this particular CPU metric. This time may also be included within the 'ssCpuRawSystem(52)' counter. Some help would be appreciated. Everywhere seems to just say that % is deprecated because it can be derived, but I haven't found anywhere that shows the official standard way to perform this derivation. The second component is that these "ticks" seem to be cumulative instead of over some time period. How do I sample values over some time period? The ultimate information I want is: % of user, system, idle, nice (and ideally steal, though there doesn't seem to be a standard MIB for this) "currently" (over the last 1-60s would probably be sufficient, with a preference for smaller time spans).

  Before I describe my problem, here is a description of the program I'm writting: This is a C++ application. The purpose of my program is to create file on RAM memory. I read that if specify FILE_ATTRIBUTE_TEMPORARY | FILE_FLAG_DELETE_ON_CLOSE when creating file it will be loaded direct to the RAM memory. One of blogs that talk about is this one: http://blogs.msdn.com/larryosterman/archive/2004/04/19/116084.aspx I have built a mini-program, but it not achieves the goal. Instead, it creates a file on hard-drive on directory I specify. • ProgressDialog not working in external AsyncTask

  I'm beginning to think that to get a ProgressDialog to work the AsyncTask has to be an inner class within an Activity class. True? I have an activity the uses a database to manipulate information. If the database is populated all is well. If it is not populated then I need to download information from a website, populate the database, then access the populated database to complete the Views in onCreate. Problem is without some means to determine when the AsyncTask thread has finished populating the database, I get the following Force Close error message: Sorry! The application has stopped unexpectedly. I click on the Force Close button, the background AsyncTask thread continues to work, the database gets populated, and everything works ok. I need to get rid of that error message and need some help on how to do this.   Hi, First of all, quickly what exactly I want to achieve: translate particular exception into the HTTP 404 so the ASP.NET can handle it further. I also tried to raise new HttpExcepton(404, "Not Found") from the handler but then the response code is 200 which I don't understand why. So the questions are: What is the proper way of translating AnException into HTTP 404 response? How does customErrors section work when handling exceptions in Application_Error? • Scaling gwt's "Contacts" (sample project) AppController with MVP

  I'm just learning GWT so I'm still trying to sort out all of its quirks and features. I'm reading through the example they give illustrating the MVP pattern, and I pretty much get it, except I'm wondering about one thing. The AppController they use implements the ValueChangeHandler interface and the onValueChange method is triggered when history changes. My problem is with this onValueChange in the AppController (i've included it below for anyone who hasn't seen the sample project). It's doing a string comparison on the history token sent in and instantiating the appropriate presenter to handle the action. This is all fine and dandy for the sample app with 3 actions, but how would one scale this to a real app with many more actions? Sticking to this pattern would lead to a pretty large/ugly else if, but I'm still too new to GWT (and java) to infer a better pattern for larger apps.
