  • Using stringstream instead of `sscanf` to parse a fixed-format string

    - by John Dibling
    I would like to use the facilities provided by stringstream to extract values from a fixed-format string as a type-safe alternative to sscanf. How can I do this? Consider the following specific use case. I have a std::string in the following fixed format: YYYYMMDDHHMMSSmmm Where: YYYY = 4 digits representing the year MM = 2 digits representing the month ('0' padded to 2 characters) DD = 2 digits representing the day ('0' padded to 2 characters) HH = 2 digits representing the hour ('0' padded to 2 characters) MM = 2 digits representing the minute ('0' padded to 2 characters) SS = 2 digits representing the second ('0' padded to 2 characters) mmm = 3 digits representing the milliseconds ('0' padded to 3 characters) Previously I was doing something along these lines: string s = "20101220110651184"; unsigned year = 0, month = 0, day = 0, hour = 0, minute = 0, second = 0, milli = 0; sscanf(s.c_str(), "%4u%2u%2u%2u%2u%2u%3u", &year, &month, &day, &hour, &minute, &second, &milli ); The width values are magic numbers, and that's ok. I'd like to use streams to extract these values and convert them to unsigneds in the interest of type safety. But when I try this: stringstream ss; ss << "20101220110651184"; ss >> setw(4) >> year; year retains the value 0. It should be 2010. How do I do what I'm trying to do? I can't use Boost or any other 3rd party library, nor can I use C++0x.

  • PHP Simple XML Parse Attributes

    - by jwzk
    I have an XML file with data stored like this: <myxml> <item name="column18">88744544</item> <item name="column11">47884994</item> <item name="column3">44788894</item> </myxml> I need to first check (and be sure that) column11 is defined (there is no particular order), and then get its value. Using simple XML is not seeming to work too well. I have the following, but the value is missing. <?php if (count($xml->myxml->item) > 0) { foreach ($xml->myxml->item as $item) { var_dump($item->attributes()); } } ?>

  • PHP active page code - I can't figure out parse error

    - by dmschenk
    I'm trying to build an active page menu with PHP and MySQL and am having a difficult time fixing the error. In the while statement I have an if statement that is giving me fits. Basically I think I'm saying that "thispage" is equal to the "title" based on pageID and as the menu is looped through if "thispage" is equal to "title" then echo id="active". Thanks <?php mysql_select_db($database_db_connection, $db_connection); $query_rsDaTa = "SELECT * FROM pages WHERE pagesID = 4"; $rsDaTa = mysql_query($query_rsDaTa, $db_connection) or die(mysql_error()); $row_rsDaTa = mysql_fetch_assoc($rsDaTa); $totalRows_rsDaTa = mysql_num_rows($rsDaTa); $query_rsMenu = "SELECT * FROM menu WHERE online = 1 ORDER BY menuPos ASC"; $rsMenu = mysql_query($query_rsMenu, $db_connection) or die(mysql_error()); $thisPage = ($row_rsDaTa['title']); ?> <link href="../css/MainStyle.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> <h2><?php echo $thisPage; ?></h2> <div id="footcontainer"> <ul id="footlist"> <?php while($row_rsMenu = mysql_fetch_assoc($rsMenu)) { echo (" <li" . <?php if ($thisPage==$row_rsDaTa['title']) echo id="active"; ?> . "<a href=\"../" . $row_rsMenu['menuURL'] . "\">" . $row_rsMenu['menuName'] . "</a></li>\n"); } echo "</ul>\n"; ?> </div> <?php mysql_free_result($rsMenu); mysql_free_result($rsDaTa); ?>

  • Parse files in directory/insert in database

    - by jakesankey
    Hey there, Here is my dillema... I have a directory full of .txt comma delimited files arranged as shown below. What I want to do is to import each of these into a SQL or SQLite database, appending each one below the last. (1 table)... I am open to C# or VB scripting and just not sure how to accomplish this. I want to only extract and import the data starting BELOW the 'Feat. Type,Feat. Name, etc' line. These are stored in a \mynetwork\directory\stats folder on my network drive. Ideally I will be able to add functionality that will make the software/script know not to re-add the file to the database once it has already done so as well. Any guidance or tips is appreciated! $$ SAMPLE= $$ FIXTURE=- $$ OPERATOR=- $$ INSPECTION PROCESS=CMM #4 $$ PROCESS OPERATION=- $$ PROCESS SEQUENCE=- $$ TRIAL=- Feat. Type,Feat. • How To Parse String File Txt Into Array With C++

    I am trying to write a C++ program, but I am not familiar with C++. I have a .txt file, which contains values as follows: 0 0.0146484 0.0292969 0.0439453 0.0585938 0.0732422 0.0878906 What I have done in my C++ code is as follows: #include <iostream> #include <fstream> using namespace std; int main() { string line; ifstream myReadFile; myReadFile.open("Qi.txt"); if(myReadFile.is_open()) { while(myReadFile.good()) { getline(myReadFile,line); cout << line << endl; } myReadFile.close(); } return 0; } I would like to make the output of the program an array, i.e. line[0] = 0 line[1] = 0.0146484 line[2] = 0.0292969 line[3] = 0.0439453 line[4] = 0.0585938 line[5] = 0.0732422 line[6] = 0.0878906

  • How to parse the AndroidManifest.xml file inside an .apk package

    - by jnorris
    This file appears to be in a binary XML format. What is this format and how can it be parsed programmatically (as opposed to using the aapt dump tool in the SDK)? This binary format is not discussed in the in the documentation here: http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/manifest/manifest-intro.html Note: I want to access this information from outside the Android environment, preferably from Java.

  • Best way to parse XMPP-like XML streams?

    - by codethief
    I am working on a server application which receives data over a TCP socket in an XMPP-like XML format, i.e. every child of the <root> element essentially represents one separate request (stanza). The connection is closed as soon as </root> is received. I do know that I must use a stream parser like SAX, somehow. Though, for convenience, I'd prefer to have a tree-like interface to access each stanza's child elements. (The data sent with every request is not large so I think it makes sense to read each stanza as a whole.) What's the best way to realize that in Python (preferably v3)? This is the code I'd like to build it in. Feel free to point me in a totally different direction to solve this issue. import socketserver import settings class MyServer(socketserver.ThreadingMixIn, socketserver.TCPServer): pass class MyRequestHandler(socketserver.StreamRequestHandler): def handle(self): pass if __name__ == '__main__': server = MyServer((settings.host, settings.port), MyRequestHandler) server.serve_forever()

  • how to hack this php class for parse ZIP file in random or specific order

Right now, I have imzip.zip which has three txt files: a.txt b.txt c.txt When I try to load imzip.zip using: http://pastebin.com/m1d974990 It loads the files alphabetically. In this case: a.txt b.txt c.txt However, I would like to be able to have the class load on different variables such as by size, date or simply random. The problem is I have no idea how I would go about modifying the class to fit my needs. I would really appreciate your help! :D

  • Unable to parse variable length string separated by delimiter

    - by Technext
    Hi, I have a problem with parsing a string, which consists only of directory path. For ex. My input string is Abc\Program Files\sample\ My output should be Abc//Program Files//sample The script should work for input path of any length i.e., it can contain any no. of subdirectories. (For ex., abc\temp\sample\folder\joe) I have looked for help in many links but to no avail. Looks like FOR command extracts only one whole line or a string (when we use ‘token’ keyword in FOR syntax) but my problem is that I am not aware of the input path length and hence, the no. of tokens. My idea was to use \ as a delimiter and then extract each word before and after it (), and put the words to an output file along with // till we reach the end of the string. I tried implementing the following but it did not work: @echo off FOR /F "delims=\" %%x in (orig.txt) do ( IF NOT %%x == "" echo.%%x//output.txt ) The file orig.txt contains only one line i.e, Abc\Program Files\sample\ The output that I get contains only: Abc// The above output contains blank spaces as well after ‘Abc//’ My desired output should be: Abc//program Files//sample// Can anyone please help me with this? • PHP classes, parse syntax errors when using 'var' to declare variables

    - by jon
    I am a C# guy trying to translate some of my OOP understanding over to php. I'm trying to make my first class object, and are hitting a few hitches. Here is the beginning of the class: <?php require("Database/UserDB.php"); class User { private var $uid; private var $username; private var $password; private var $realname; private var $email; private var $address; private var $phone; private var $projectArray; public function _construct($username) { $userArray = UserDB::GetUserArray($username); $uid = $userArray['uid']; $username = $userArray['username']; $realname = $userArray['realname']; $email = $userArray['email']; $phone = $userArray['phone']; $i = 1; $projectArray = UserDB::GetUserProjects($this->GetID()); while($projectArray[$i] != null) { $projectArray[$i] = new Project($projectArray[$i]); } UserDB.php is where I have all my static functions interacting with the Database for this User Class. I am getting errors using when I use var, and I'm getting confused. I know I don't HAVE to use var, or declare the variables at all, but I feel it is a better practice to do so. the error is "unexpected T_VAR, expecting T_VARIABLE" When I simply remove var from the declarations it works. Why is this?

  • Parse xml file with same tag multiple times iphone sdk

    - by neha
    Hi all, In my application, I have a tag multiple times. I'm using xml parser. I'm taking a corresponding element with similar name as the one in xml file in my class. So in case of: <photo>abc</photo> <photo>def</photo> What I get in photo element of my class is the second element i.e def, as the first one gets overwritten as there's only one photo element in my class. My question is am I wrong in taking similar elements in class as in case of xml? Is there any better method or a better parser? Or I'm on right path and have to do this manually by setting some flags etc? Thanx in advance.

  • Partially parse C++ for a domain-specific language

    - by PierreBdR
    I would like to create a domain specific language as an augmented-C++ language. I will need mostly two types of contructs: Top-level constructs for specialized types or declarations In-code constructs, i.e. to add primitives to make functions calls or idiom easier The language will be used for scientific computing purposes, and will ultimately be translated into plain C++. C++ has been chosen as it seems to offer a good compromise between: ease of use, efficiency and availability of a wide range of libraries. A previous attempt using flex and bison failed due to the complexity of the C++ syntax. The existing parser can still fail on some constructs. So we want to start over, but on better bases. Do you know about similar projects? And if you attempted to do so, what tools would you use? What would be the main pitfalls? Would you have recommendations in term of syntax?
